Our Wagoneer L has been the perfect family vehicle
We bought our Jeep Wagoneer L when our fourth child was born, and honestly, it was exactly what our family needed. Before that, we had an Explorer, but once we had four kids in car seats—one rear-facing convertible, a high-back booster, a booster, and an infant carrier—it lasted about a month before we realized we needed something bigger.
The Wagoneer L has been a game changer for our family. We love that we can fit all six of us comfortably in one vehicle and tow our Ice Castle fish house. Being able to haul the whole family and still have the towing capability we need is a huge win.
The extra cargo space in the L is another major reason we love it. With four kids involved in hockey and other sports, we need A LOT of stuff. Four hockey bags, figure skating equipment, sticks, gear, snacks, and all the random things that come with having a sports family—and we can actually fit it all.
It’s comfortable, spacious, and has made hauling our family around so much easier. For a family with four kids, especially kids involved in sports, the Wagoneer L has been a great fit for us.
The cons: The technology can be glitchy at times, and we’ve had two instances where it wouldn’t start. Both times, she apparently just needed to sit for a while and think about what she had done before deciding to cooperate. 😂 Thankfully, it hasn’t been a recurring issue.
The biggest everyday annoyance for me is definitely the cup holders. The cup holder situation feels very “bottom shelf.” There just aren’t enough, especially in the second row. The middle seat has the pull-down cup holders and there are cup holders in the doors, but they’re difficult for my kids to reach. Even up front, the driver and passenger really only have two convenient cup holders, and the door cup holders aren’t particularly user-friendly.
Overall, though, the pros far outweigh the cons for us!
