2026 Kia EV9

If you’re in the market for a spacious, 3rd row EV, the EV9 won me over! With Captain’s Chairs, it’s so easy to navigate and use both 2nd and 3rd rows for cargo, carpool with extra friends or family in town. The EV range is fantastic and it drives intuitively like a car. Substantial trunk space even with 3rd row up, and appreciate the overhead vents. Compatible with Tesla charging stations and gets better mileage than my former Audi E-Tron Q4. Feels like such an upgrade with space while still being mid size and appreciate the various safety driving features like lane assist. Overall this car won us over and it was an easy choice compared to other hybrid and EV models.

We lvoe our EV9! It’s been a great car for 2 adults, 1 baby, and a dog! I did the thing Kelly tells people not to do and I bought a new car for just 1 baby. But we really wanted the third row for our dog, and it’s worked out really great for us! Front row: as a driver this car is very comfortable and has lots of great safety features like blind spot warnings and cameras. It has “highway drive assist” which is amazing because it’ll make lane changes for you! The center console is a bit small, which is slightly inconvenient. Second row: we have our son on the drivers side and I have no complaints about the car seat installation. We use a graco turn2me and it’s worked great! I often sit in the second row on the passenger side and the comfort features are excellent. I have heated and ventilated seats and plenty of leg room. There is a leg rest you can put up but it doesn’t make much sense because even with the front seat pushed all the way forward, I still can’t comfortably put my feet up and I’m only 5’1”. I have an outlet to charge my phone easily accessible. I’ve breastfed back here countless times! I never worry about my son overheating on the 100 degree days because of the ceiling vents, and the car cools down very fast. There is a small console with a tray table back here and it’s really convenient for when we get fast food. I have captain’s chairs but I wish I had a bench. Third row: my dog often gets this whole row to himself, and I don’t worry about him overheating thanks to the ceiling vents. For humans, there’s not much leg room, but it’s ok if you push the second row seats forward a bit. Charging: we usually charge in the garage. On a regular day we usually use less than 10% battery. We’ve gone on a few roadtrips and had no issues using the fast chargers. With the third row up there’s not a ton of trunk space. Overall, we highly recommend this car for families!

If you're in the market for a three row EV the options are *LIMITED*. This is a great option with a great bench but beware of the awful cup holders!

Electric 3-row family car. Feels big initially but is easy to drive. Useful cameras, safety features, and car seat tilt.

I have owned a BMW X7 and Tesla model Y 7 seater before this and truly am so excited about this car and all the tech and upgrades that come with it. I test drove it, including installing all our kids car seats, and fell in love. It doesn't drive as big as it is and has SO much space for the passengers. I ended up going with the bench as was so impressed with all the upgrades the Land trim comes with. Love the video rear view mirror, so with car seats in the third row, they aren't blocking your visibility. This feels so high end and looks great on the road. Performance wise, the electric motor is zippy and fun. I will be honest and say I have had a strange issue with the tires (all 4 of them) where they needed to be replaced because of the foam inside causing the car to shake violently at highway speeds once we left the dealership to take it home. I'm hoping replacing them will remove the issue but figured id mention in case someone test drives it and feels anything similar!

Pros: This car is fun to drive and has a lot of cool features! I love that it has window shades, ceiling vents, four cup holders up front, two sunroofs, and a decent sized trunk! It has so much power and feels like a large SUV without being too clunky. It’s easy to charge, especially since Kia offers a Tesla charging adapter. The seats are very comfortable and there are a lot of charging ports throughout the car! Cons: I dislike the user interface-it’s too complicated even for someone like myself and my husband who are pretty knowledgeable about tech. I hate the center console because it’s a floating console and it vibrates/rattles at higher speeds. When you turn the car on to cool it down/warm it up via your phone, it doesn’t turn on the rear vents, so you have to manually turn those on when you get in the car if you have rear passengers. When I have my bike rack on the car, the auto-open trunk door always opens and smacks the metal bike rack (i.e. there’s no sensor to stop it from hitting something). 🙄 Lastly, there is no sunglasses holder in the ceiling, so my sunglasses live in a cup holder. Overall, I do really like the vehicle, but we probably won’t purchase it after our lease is up!

I love this car! Previously owned BMW, Volvo and Tesla this has been top of my list. We wanted electric but more space and this was one of the only 3 row options at the time. I was worried about getting a Kia as I thought it was cheap but it is just as nice as my luxury cars and way nicer than my Tesla. I don’t recommend the tv/tech package if you plan to rear face in the second row as they stick out a lot, the doona fits great even with tall drivers but rotating seats are a tough fit (rear facing) totally fine forward facing. We only use the third row on occasion and it is small but would still be good for smaller children all the time as we might have a third my oldest will be very comfortable back there. Zero problems with the way the cars runs, looks or functions. Would prefer they did the front seat center console differently but the large cubbie in the backseat is great for diapers and change of clothes etc. also a random perfect while “holder” in the trunk I use all the time!
