Features We Love

The 2025 refresh gives the Kia Carnival a more squared-off front end, updated grille, Star Map lighting, and adds a new hybrid option.

  • 2025 Refresh with SUV Energy: The updated front end, grille, and Star Map lighting make this feel way more like an SUV than a minivan. Head-on, you would never guess what it is.
  • Car Seat Setup That Just Works: I installed four car seats and still had everyday access to the third row without doing any gymnastics.
  • Second-Row Bench Is the Real MVP: I can remove any seat to create the easiest walk-through to the third row without tilting a seat that has a car seat installed.
  • A Hybrid That Makes Sense for Families: It’s an active hybrid, so there’s nothing to plug in, and I’m getting around 32 mpg in a full-size family hauler.
  • Passenger View So I Can See Everyone: I can see all four of my car seats right from the driver’s seat without turning around.
  • The Power Door Button Kids Can Actually Use: My kids can press the button on the handle themselves and the door opens automatically.
Car Mom Review

The Exterior

On the outside, the 2025 Kia Carnival looks even more like an SUV than it did before. They squared off the front end, updated the grille, and added those amber Star Map lights that make it feel bold and modern right away. Head-on, you really would not guess this is a minivan. Around back, it’s cleaner and more refined, with the license plate moved lower on the tailgate and those same Star Map lights carrying through to the rear.

Beyond fuel economy, the hybrid version of the Kia Carnival is actually set up a little differently than the gas model.

What’s different on the Hybrid (HEV):

  • 1.6L turbo-hybrid engine with a 6-speed transmission (gas uses a 3.5L V6 with an 8-speed)
  • Hybrid-specific 17-inch aerodynamic wheels
  • Unique driving features you don’t get on the gas model:
    • Regenerative braking control with the paddle shifters (E-VMC)
    • Ride smoothing over bumps (E-Ride)
    • Extra handling support in corners and emergency steering (E-Handling, E-Evasive Handling Assist)
  • Lower towing capacity at 2,500 lbs vs 3,500 lbs on the gas version
  • Slightly different trim lineup (no base LX on the hybrid)

The takeaway is that the hybrid isn’t just “the same car with better MPG.” It’s tuned for a smoother, more efficient everyday driving experience, while the gas version is better suited if towing capacity is a priority.

If you’re comparing price, the Carnival Hybrid does cost a bit more than the gas version. The gas model starts at $36,800, while the hybrid starts at $40,800 since it’s not offered in the base LX trim. When you line up the same trims side by side, the hybrid is consistently about $2,000 more than the gas model.

Kia really leaned into the whole “is it a good-looking minivan or an average-looking SUV?”

First Row

Clean, Modern, and Actually Comfortable
The front row feels really clean and modern, with a sleek dash layout and big, beautiful screens that make this a genuinely nice place to spend time. Kia interiors always look good, and this one is no exception. Everything feels intuitive and easy to use, which matters when you’re driving kids around all day.

Passenger View Is a Great Feature
One of my favorite features up front is Passenger View. It turns on a camera that shows me a live view of the second and third rows right on the screen, so I can see all four of my car seats without turning around.

Cup Holders and Console Space That Actually Make Sense
You get large cup holders right in the center console that can hold a big drink, and the layout is simple and functional. It’s easy to reach what you need without digging around.

The Power Door Button My Kids Can Use
There’s a small button on the door handle that opens the power sliding door. My kids can press it themselves and the door opens automatically. It sounds small, but this is something we use every single day, and I love that they can do it without struggling with the handle.

Easy-to-Use Controls and Voice Features
The infotainment and climate controls are laid out in a really minimal, easy-to-use way, and you can even say “Hey Kia” to adjust things like windows and climate. It’s simple, user friendly, and doesn’t feel overwhelming.

Second Row

The second row is where the Carnival really stands out. You have a sliding bench where every seat can move and even be removed, tons of flexibility for car seats, and the ability to create an easy walk-through to the third row. It’s one of those setups that looks simple, but once you start using it, you realize how well it works.

The second row is incredibly car seat friendly.
Every seating position has its own lower anchors and tether anchor, which gives you real flexibility for installs. I was able to set up two rear-facing seats here comfortably without crowding, and still make this row work for everyday life.

Easy Third Row Access Without the Gymnastics
Because any of these seats can be removed, I can take out one outboard seat and create a true walk-through to the third row. That means I don’t have to tilt a seat with a car seat installed just to get kids to the back. For families with multiple car seats and older kids, this setup is a game changer.

If you have all three second-row seats in, you have to use the tilt-and-slide to get back to the third row. It works, but it’s not my favorite, and it’s not compatible with car seats. This is why removing an outboard seat in the second row is such a great setup.

The Bench Seat Is the Real MVP
Every seat in the bench can slide forward and backward, and any of them can be removed. You can turn this into captain’s chairs, leave the middle open, or stagger the seats for more leg room. It’s incredibly flexible, and this is how you “hack” the Carnival to make it work for multiple kids and different ages.

If you plan to put a car seat in the middle, just know it’s a little narrower than the outboard seats. A slimmer car seat works best here so you’re not crowding the seats next to it.

Amenities Back Here Are Solid
You get ceiling vents for both the second and third rows, charging on the back of the seats, cup holders, sunshades, and even a sunroof back here. It’s a comfortable space, not just a place to put kids.

Third Row

Car Seat Hardware Is Strong Back Here Too
You have lower anchors on both outboard seats and three tether anchors across the back of the bench. That’s excellent if you’re doing forward-facing installs in the third row and gives you more flexibility than most vehicles.

Amenities Make It Comfortable, Not an Afterthought
You still get ceiling vents, charging, cup holders, and sunshades back here, just like the second row. It doesn’t feel like the “leftover row.” It feels like a usable, comfortable space.

Access With All Seats In Isn’t My Favorite
If you have all three second-row seats in, you have to use the tilt-and-slide to get back here. It works, but it’s not my favorite, and it’s not compatible with car seats. This is why removing an outboard seat in the second row is such a great setup.

Any second-row seat can be removed, making car seats and third-row access much easier.

Trunk

This is where minivans always win. The trunk in the Carnival goes deep, not just wide, which makes a big difference when you’re loading strollers, groceries, sports gear, or all of the above.

The third-row headrests are removable, which is a big deal for car seat setups and something you don’t always get. You know who can’t do this? The Pacifica. That can be frustrating when you’re trying to make car seats fit well back here.

When you’re ready for more cargo space, the third row folds flat right into the floor with almost no effort, giving you a huge, usable storage area in seconds.

Safety

The Carnival performs well in crash testing, earning a 5-star overall rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Model years prior to 2024 were top safety picks from the IIHS. The 2025 model year was not awarded.

The 2025 Kia Carnival includes several driver-assistance features designed to help with everyday driving, especially on busy roads and highways.

At the center of it is Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, which can detect cars, pedestrians, and cyclists in front of you and automatically help with braking if needed. For 2025, this system also includes additional functions that expand how it responds in more complex situations.

Key safety and driver-assistance features:

  • Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA) with detection for:
    • Cars
    • Pedestrians
    • Cyclists
    • Junction Crossing (FCA-JC)
    • Lane-change Oncoming (FCA-LO)
    • Lane-change Side (FCA-LS)
    • Evasive Steering Assist (FCA-ESA)
  • Highway Driving Assist 2 (HDA 2)
Helps maintain distance from the vehicle ahead, keeps the vehicle centered in its lane on certain highways, and can assist with lane changes under certain conditions.
  • Navigation-based Smart Cruise Control (N-SCC)
  • Intelligent Speed Limit Assist (ISLA)

Seat belt pretensioners are included for the driver and front passenger, as well as the second-row outboard seating positions. Pretensioners remove slack from the seat belt in the nanoseconds before a crash, dramatically reducing injury in frontal and near-frontal collisions.

A note on  the 7-passenger VIP Lounge Seating package:

These chairs are not removable, which limits third row access. Additionally they are not intended to be reclined while the vehicle is in motion, while car seats are installed, or with passengers in the third row. I repeat, it is not safe to recline the seats while driving and there are warnings in the manual prohibiting it.

From the owners manual:

Take the following precautions when using the VIP Lounge Seat:

  • Do not use the VIP Lounge Seat while the vehicle is moving. Using the VIP Lounge Seat could increase the risk of injuries in the event of a collision or sudden stop.
  • Do not use the VIP Lounge Seat while the vehicle is moving. The shoulder belt may not adhere to your chest firmly.

Car Seat Setup

The 2025 Kia Carnival is a standout option for families who need maximum flexibility for multiple car seats. With seating for up to 7 or 8 passengers depending on configuration, it’s one of the most car-seat-friendly vehicles on the market. Between the wide second row and highly usable third row, the Carnival easily accommodates everything from rear-facing infants to boosters and three-across setups.

LATCH

In the second row, there are lower anchors and tether anchors in all seating positions. In the third row, there are lower anchors in both outboard seats and tether anchors for every position. Having a tether anchor for every single seat is excellent for car seat flexibility.

The lower anchors are easily accessible and not deeply buried in the seat bight for outboard seats, which makes installation more straightforward, especially for frequent installs or baseless setups.

The second-row center seat’s lower anchors are inside the seat bight. Raise and remove the seat belt buckle from the center seat before installing a car seat. The car seat should not rest on the buckle.

Belt Buckles

The seat belt buckles are a mix of rigid and semi-flexible designs depending on seating position. In the second row outboard they are upright and accessible, though rigid. The center seat is flexible and the webbing is visible.

In the third row, the buckles are more recessed and can be harder to access, especially when a car seat or booster is installed next to them. This can make independent buckling more challenging for older kids. The buckle on the passenger side (3C) is flexible and may be easier for younger kids to access it in a booster.

Seat Shape

The Carnival’s seats are wide and relatively flat, especially in the second row, which makes it one of the easiest vehicles for three-across installations. Even with the outboard seat removed, two adjacent seats fit comfortably. The Carnival’s center seat is much larger than the Odyssey and Sienna competitors.

The third row is also notably usable compared to most SUVs. The large plastic hinge between 3P and 3C can prevent some boosters from sitting evenly in the center seat, but overall it’s a large third row bench that can accommodate a few three across combinations. More on that below.

The seat belt is mounted on the rear-pillar in the third row (unlike seat-mounted in the second row) which can drastically affect seat belt fit for a child who newly 5-steps as well as the seat belt retraction in a booster seat. (How easily the seat belt feeds back into the car when the child leans forward and back. It can be slow, but it must retract back in. Slack in the seat belt needs to be gone after a child moves back into position.) Try different seating positions if you encounter an issue. This is not unique to the Carnival, but worth mentioning as minivans often have every seating position filled with a passenger.

Head Restraints

The head restraints are adjustable and removable.

This allows for more flexibility when installing forward-facing car seats, as removing the head restraint (when permitted by the manual) can help achieve a flush installation. Car seats may also be installed over the third row head restraints if it is evenly supported.

Most booster seats do not allow a gap caused by the head restraint, though some do, so this flexibility is especially helpful in the Carnival.

Three Across Considerations

Three across is not only possible in the Carnival, but one of its strengths. The second row bench (when equipped) and the third row are both wide enough to support multiple adjacent car seats.

If you’re attempting a three-across setup, it’s often easiest to install the center seat first, followed by the outboard seats. Be sure to verify every seat is independently tight; if you remove the seat next to it, the remaining seat is still installed tightly/ moves less than 1” at the belt path.

The third row can accommodate three Graco SlimFit3 LX 3 in 1 car seats, three Chicco Fit3X, three Evenflo All4Stages Slim Plus Canopy, or any combination to name a few possibilities. A backless booster like the Cosco Rise or a highback booster that is narrow like the Peg Flex 120 would work in three across the third row. There are more workable combinations as well.

Three Across Combinations We've Tried:

  • Three Graco SlimFit3 LX 3
  • Three Chicco Fit3X
  • Three Evenflo All4Stages Slim Plus Canopy
  • Cosco Rise
  • Peg Flex 120
Rear-Facing and Legroom

The Carnival offers generous legroom and front-to-back space in both the second and third rows. Most rear-facing car seats will fit comfortably without significantly impacting front seat passengers.

Even larger rear-facing seats and rotating car seats tend to fit well in the second row. In the third row, space is still very usable, though larger seats may require some adjustment of the second row position.

Rear-facing seats with compact shells or adjustable recline options will always give you the most flexibility, especially when managing multiple rows.

This van was purchased when we had our 3 kiddos and wanted a van to ride around Southern California in as a family of 5. The flexibility of the second and third rows was unmatched. My only gripe was we had the lowest trim level and it seemed to lack the technology I was used to in our Hyundai Palisade. I wish could have kept this car (moved overseas to a left side driving country) but the resale was great. We actually had it less than a year and it only depreciated a little over $1k

We have loved our Carnival! The flexibility of the three separate seats in the middle row is exceptional. I have driven 5 kids all in car seats and boosters very comfortably. Only thing lacking is the car seat tilt for back seat access.

We love our white 2023 Kia Carnival. It was the seat package which allows for the seats in the second row to be removed / reconfigured which we love with a growing family. We bought it during the chip shortage so it doesn’t have some of the technology features the vehicles may have now like more assisted driving, forward camera, and no hands trunk opening but we still love it. Smooth and easy drive and we haven’t had any issues. There have been some voluntary recalls or improvement campaigns and small things that Kia emailed us about that we get updated during services but otherwise have never had any issues! Have had many people comment on how much it doesn’t look like a van as well.

This is the ultimate mom car. The slide open doors, huge trunk and ability to remove any seat is a real game changer. Unfortunately moving the seats is not easy. If they were easier to get in and out, this would be the perfect mom car. However, I have not successfully gotten them in and out without serious frustration or the help of my husband.

Pros - Three across machine, huge trunk with or without 3rd row down, easy to get in and out of, for me and the kids, great visibly, middle seats on separate tracks, you can remove any of the 2nd row seats, I love the interior color(tan), and best of all, sliding doors! Cons - no car seat tilt, 3rd row access is difficult, front door cupholders are small, stuff gets stuck in the tracks in the floor, I have 85,000 miles and have replaced the tires twice, while driving, it’s loud inside, and finally the fuel door quit opening and it wasn’t under warranty but was a cheap and easy fix.

This is our first minivan, and we’ve loved it so much! Being able to configure the second row however we want has given us so much flexibility in our three car seat install. Passenger view is one of my favorite features, and the safety driving features on this car have become irreplaceable to us. The trunk is a BEAST, and being able to fold down the third row seats for a flat large cargo space is so helpful if you ever need to haul something larger in your van. 2nd and 3rd row air conditioning vents are chefs kiss! After a year and a half we’ve had no issues with our car, and love it just as much today as when we bought it. If you still want to feel cool with all of the perks of a mini van this is your car!

I couldn’t love this vehicle more if I tried! It does everything I need and want it to do. We have 4 kids. I have it set up with a backed booster in the middle middle, doona infant car seat behind the passenger, and 2 reversible car seats in the 3rd row side seats. I’ve removed the seat behind the driver so that my big kids can load in while I load the baby behind the passenger. I love having the open space behind the driver seat for diaper changes, or a drop zone for kids backpacks. The trunk is such a great size. I can fit my Zoe double stroller folded up with a bin I have of diapers, returns, random stuff. The console is spacious and I love the cup holder space in the front, and each kid has 3 cup holders in the very back sides!! Amazing for snacks, cups, CFA nugget boxes and fries! I love the car play capabilities. My trim level doesn’t have power tailgate or rear cabin talk but I wish I would’ve paid for the mid trim level to have those features. I get stopped in parking lots and by friends asking if I like my car, and I’m OBSESSED. If it were to crash today, I’d buy the exact same thing! (Well maybe a higher trim level😂) I’m a huge carnival fan!!! Last thing I will add is that when we only had 3 kids, we pushed the two-seat side down in the 3rd row and that was amazing for storage as well.

I have a 4 year old, 2 year old, and newborn. It was time to upgrade for more space to accommodate all three carseats and I'm very pleased we went with the Kia Carnival. The interior is so spacious, looks sleek, and does not scream incoming soccer mom! I've tried two different set ups. I like three across in the second row for our regular day to day commute as all kids still need help with buckles. For longer roadtrips, I like removing the captain chair on the driver side, and having my older two on the outside seats in the back, my newborn behind the passenger seat, and the middle seat available for me to sit to referee all kids as we go. I haven't owned it long enough to know the reliability yet, but if it can stand the test of how well my Toyota Rav4 did (owned that for 7 years with no problem), I will be extremely happy. Love the apple car play and the feel of the front. Went with the EX as I wanted the passenger view and sun shades that the LX didn't offer. And not to mention, affordable purchase price compared to other SUV's is what struck me into the minivan life.

This car was a huge upgrade for our family! It has so many thoughtful, family-friendly features that make it a great choice without feeling like you’re driving a traditional minivan. I was honestly hesitant to even consider it because of the “minivan” label, but after test-driving it, I was sold. It was simply too good of a value to pass up. One of the biggest selling points was the price. We were able to get the highest trim level for significantly less than what we would have paid for a base-model SUV, so we got all the features we wanted without the huge price tag. The second-row reclining seats are perfect for long road trips, and I love the built-in camera and speaker that let the driver see and talk to the kids without turning around, getting distracted, or yelling. There are also multiple driving modes, including driver-assist features, which are really convenient. The third row is surprisingly roomy, even for adults, and we can comfortably fit three kids back there. The trunk space was another major selling point for us. It’s deep, similar to what you’d expect from a traditional minivan, so there’s plenty of room for a stroller, sports equipment, wagons, groceries, and everything else a family of five seems to accumulate. I also love all the little details that make a big difference: heated and cooled seats in the front and second row, a heated steering wheel, charging ports in all three rows, and built-in window shades. The AC vents are on the ceiling as well, which provides plenty of airflow on those hot days. Overall, it fits our family of five perfectly and gives us so much for the price. It has all the practicality and family-friendly features we need, without feeling like we had to sacrifice style or driving experience just because we chose a minivan. Don't let the minivan label stop you from getting it!

This was our family’s dream car! We found the perfect pre-owned KIA Carnival at Carmax and never looked back. It fit into our budget without sacrificing our wants and needs. It is beyond convenient for our three children with plenty of space. This will be our family’s vehicle as long as it will have us, haha!

I honestly don’t know if I would want to own anything other than a minivan for the rest of my life. The carnival is a dream, she’s sleek, has the latest technology and checks every box I had as a mom! My only regret is not getting the SX (I got an EX). Those air conditioned seats would be clutch during the summer! I didn’t get a hybrid, and I can get 26 mpg on the freeway pretty easily. I love the in car camera to check on the kiddos. 100/10 recommend this car!

Love my Kia Carnival! Pros: I like how it looks, love the doors, love the amenities for the price, very easy to drive, extremely roomy. Cons: the volume button and the air speed control are the same. This is HORRIBLE. Could use door cup holders/more cup holders. My car is 1 year old and is already having some issues; the power doors don’t work all the time, and there is noises I noticed when the car turns when sitting in the 2nd row. I did not get this checked yet but plan to. Had a Telluride before this and never had any issues. Get the hybrid version, it uses a lot of gas.

The car is great. I love having all of the different configurations for seats and car seats since I have two in boosters and one infant. I currently remove the outside seat in the second row. This gives my two oldest easy access to the third row and lets me reach and help them if necessary. The trunk space is also great for travel.

If it wasn’t for The Car Mom’s YouTube vid about the Carnival- I wouldn’t have fallen in love with it. By far, best looking minivan on the road. It drives smooth as butter. We have the EX model and has just enough tech to make me feel bougie but still comfortable enough that I don’t have a cow when my toddler spills apple sauce. Thanks to Kelly and her crew- I’ve been an avid watcher since 2021’ish, and because of her, we are an informed car-buying family.

I own and love this van for my family for many reasons (2FF, 1 infant seat). I enjoy how each seat in the second row can be removed leaving lots of options for car seat configurations. We have the outboard seat removed. I love the exterior style and the infotainment. Got the EX over the LX for the power tailgate. Great for road trips with usb outlet access for all seats and plenty of trunk space! I often have groceries and a stroller back there with plenty of room. I would buy it again in a heartbeat, however, she has her flaws. The proximity sensors will randomly go off, sounds loud within the car on the highways making it hard to have conversations with people in the back row, the doors close hard (open recall), the doors go in reverse when you hit the break, limited cup holders for driver, factory tires are subpar (squeal, hydroplane), and a rear window no longer works properly. Ours has had several recalls including fuel injector recall where they gave us a rental car for over a month. Highly recommend being aware of any open recalls before purchasing. Like I said I do enjoy it and recommend it to friends after giving them these warnings. Would buy again but only if under manufacture warranty.

I owned a 2022 carnival sx and loved it! But when traded in for 2025 ex, it went down hill. I hated the tech update switching from volume to temp. And u fortunately, we had to have a lemon law buyback. The car wouldn’t turn off and the dealership could figure out how to fix it, even after trying multiple things including a new circuit board. We decided to not go back to another Kia after that incident.

I'm a practical mom with a three year old and another one the way; this car needed to be a workhorse that's driven until it's done. I was looking for: Hybrid. seats 8. 2nd and 3rd row leg room that could hold an actual adult (my 6'0 husband adjusted each row for himself comfortably). Car seat flexibility. Removable second row seats. Leather seats, heated in the front row. All of these basically led me to the Kia Carnival HEV. Things I love: it checks all of my boxes! The storage space is incredible. I've piled it full of adults and had everyone comfortably seated. I'm getting 35 mpg on average with a lot of neighborhood miles. Things I don't love: the door storage in the first and second rows is lacking. Third row access can be clunky and is not intuitive. There are some technology quirks to figure out (and I do not love needing an app for some of it). Overall, it's exactly what I wanted. Functional without frills and will hopefully last a long, long time. I went with the EX over the SX because I was upgrading from a 2010 Jetta that didn't even have CarPlay; anything was going to feel luxurious. I never used a sunroof and didn't care about that.

This car works wonderfully for 3 children who have large Britax car seats. I can fit all 3 of them across with no issue. I love the flexible nature of the seats due to being on tracks. My only issue with the car is that you cannot lock it from the door and walk away, you have to have the fob. The keyless entry when you touch the door handle is not always super successful. These are not dealbreakers for us and we love the car! 360 degree camera for parking has changed my life!

We have the hybrid model of the 2026 Kia Carnival and overall, I love it! We have a 4.5 yr old front facing in the third row passenger side (necessary for preschool dropoff), our 3 year old rear facing in the second row/middle seat, and our one year old rear facing behind the driver in the second row. We have the outboard seat behind the passenger removed. It has great storage for longer road trips and my kids love it! We have the EX trim level (based on Kelly’s recommendation!), and it’s perfect for our needs. I will say that the hybrid engine does drive differently so that took me some getting used to, but now I’m used to it. The fuel mileage on the hybrid is great—right around 32 in the city, which is what I’m mostly driving. On longer trips, it gets 25ish.

The carnival is a great family car. The technology on its own is worth it. I can have the camera and see the kids while I drive, especially when they are fighting and throwing things! I love that the exterior looks stylish and not like a traditional minivan. Drawbacks is not all wheel drive so I generally don't drive it in the snow. When the third row is down, you can fit a stroller, a wagon, all the groceries, a costco shopphing haul. I love my Carnival. One thing to note, 3 years in and 3 recalls thus far, two for the interior and another for the fuel line.

You need to know I wanted a Telluride, but after a driving a hybrid minivan as a rental after a move I knew I needed that feature in my next car. The Kia Carnival is a true MVP and I still fool some people who think it is an SUV, which is perfect for the anti-minivan mom. This car has excellent comfort in all rows. The ability to adjust the seating configuration so easily by removing seats when necessary is fantastic. Dual A/C, multiple ports to charge things. One of my favorite features is the ability to make my rearview mirror a rearview camera, so I can still see behind my vehicle when adult heads or cargo is in the way.

The first plus is the Carnival is obviously the best looking mini van in the market. That initially drew me in. Then I realize it’s amazing car all around. The one big screen makes everything easy to see and clean. The interior is comfortable while also looking clean and fancy. I really with the car was 4WD, but that really is my only complaint. It has so many fun and functional features. The trunk space is amazing. This is my first mini van with 3 kids and I can’t imagine driving anything else. I compared all the popular mini vans for months before making a choice. I have absolutely no regrets!

When we were expecting our third child, we knew we needed a three-row vehicle, but I was determined not to get a minivan. We thoroughly researched the minivans and large SUVs in our price range, and honestly, I wasn't excited about any of the options until Kia released the Carnival Hybrid. We absolutely love it. The versatility is perfect for a family with young kids, car seats, and boosters. The technology feels like it was designed with parents in mind, there are cup holders everywhere, the built-in sunshades are incredibly convenient, and I can't tell you how many times people have said, "That doesn't even look like a minivan!" At this stage of life, with young children, baby equipment, strollers, backpacks, and massive Costco runs, it's hard for me to imagine driving anything else. We've taken it on several road trips, and it's been exceptionally comfortable for everyone. The storage space is generous, and the seating configurations make it easy to adapt to whatever our family needs that day. You also can't beat Kia's warranty. I've had to take the vehicle in for a couple of minor repairs, but the service experience was smooth, and the warranty coverage worked exactly as expected. If you're trying to decide between a large SUV and a minivan, I would strongly encourage you to take a look at the Carnival Hybrid. It completely changed my perception of what a minivan could be.

I never thought I’d be a minivan mom, especially with only two kids, but the convenience factor is just unmatched. With a two year old and a baby brother joining us soon, the sliding doors and interior space are amazing. I also love that the exterior gives more ‘SUV’ vibes than your typical minivan. We are LOVING this car.

Favorite Features: Love that I can crawl to the middle row and sit comfortably between two car seats for long trips. Tech is easy for me to use, Apple car play is my life. Heat and overhead vents are amazing for our Florida life and rear facing babes. My one and only complaint, is that there is not a comfortable place to change a diaper. The trunk leans too far “upside down” the side is too low. My diapering season will be over long before we’re done with this vehicle though, so it’s a season we will push through. If I was just starting my family, I would rethink this, but since we’re almost done it’s not a dealbreaker. The regenerative breaking took a little getting used to for our hybrid model. I still even a year and half later find myself braking too hard sometimes, but the trade offs for going over 500 miles between gas fill ups are 100% worth it.

This is the best parent vehicle ever. The technology is so helpful, with phone connection and the built in camera for passenger view, the tailgate button, and the save the seat settings! I also love how I can personally configure the seats. I have the passenger second row removed to create a path and room for the third row. It is such a game changer! My current setup is a forward facing 5 year old in the third row drivers side, infant seat in the third row passenger side, and a rear facing 2 year old in the second row drivers side. The middle second row is folded down for cup holder storage and a little table but can be pulled up when grandmas in town! I recommend this vehicle to everyone I meet! And my kids love it too!

This car is a 10/10 car if you have young children! It functions just like a minivan, but looks similar to an SUV. There are three rows, you can move the seats around or take out seats. The automatic doors are great when your hands are full with kids, and the trunk space is huge. I mean, huge! Even when the third row is up, the trunk goes so deep that you can fit a stroller, a pack and play and some groceries.. you can do all rear facing car seats and all of the seats, except for one backseat, which has to be for facing due to how it straps into the car. I also chose the hybrid EX version of this car, my gas mileage is insane and really good for long road trips. I got rubber mats to protect my floors, but also put a carpet down so it could be easily cleanable. There are a large amount of cupholders, which are really nice when you’re a mom on the go and have multiple children or are driving on road trips. The car comes in different exterior colors and 2 interior color options. I believe there are four different versions of this car, depending on what you want with it, we went with the EX. I love it!!! Cute and super functional. I will probably drive this exact minivan until my kids are older, maybe even if they’re older. It’s great.

I absolutely love how versatile and roomy my 2022 Kia Carnival is! There’s so much space throughout the entire vehicle-not just in the second and third rows, but even in the driver and passenger seats. We recently took out one of the outside second-row seats, which has made it so much easier for my older kids to get in and out of the back row. I love that we can adjust the seating setup to fit what works best for our family. It’s comfortable, practical, and has plenty of room for everyone without ever feeling cramped. Such a great family vehicle!

I always said I would never drive a minivan but then Kia came out with this MPV 😉 and it helped change my mind. I also knew I wanted 3 kids and they wouldn’t fit in the back of my Tiguan so we had to get me a new mom car. I think it’s great value for what you get. The exterior doesn’t look like a minivan and the interior tech is so nice. My only qualm with the tech is the toggle button for media and climate control. I did figure out how to set media as default so even after adjusting the a/c it’ll automatically go back to media. It’s comfortable to ride in and there’s plenty of space for my kids and additional passengers. My kids and I love the sliding door and haven’t had any problems with it. It is a little annoying that I have to wait by the car for all doors to close before I can lock it, especially because my youngest is always running away. I keep the third row down as I don’t need it yet, which gives me a ton of trunk space. I keep my uppababy, an organizer and I put a cooler in there for grocery days and I still have plenty of room for more. Even with the third row up the trunk space is pretty decent. Overall I really love my new mom car and would 10/10 recommend.

We've had our 2024 Carnival for 5 months now. So far it's been great! My only complaint is that I wish it had better cup holders for the 2nd row. If the middle seat is being used, it's hard for these passengers to reach the cup holders in the center console. Right now we have 1 in a booster, 1 forward facing and 1 in an infant seat. We average about 20 mpg in the city.

I hated the thought of a "minivan" but ... 4 under 4 and this has been perfect for us!! Sliding doors with independent toddlers has been wonderful. Deep trunk fits our stroller or our Keenz wagon. I was partial to a "big screen" and this fits my need. We have been able to configure seats, move seats, and even take out seats to fit our growing family! Overall very happy with this minivan life!!

Thick in the summer of Covid, we realized we need a bench sit instead of captain chairs after #5 was born. There were not many options at that time and you could really wait when you went into a dealership in hopes that had something you liked enough. We were lucky to find a decent color and 1 of the only carnivals on the lot. We are travel soccer/road trip family so this van has been everywhere! No one complains about the third row, as they all have enough leg room and space and you truly can not beat the truck space of a van! Having a 1st year made car, we have had little to zero issues with it. Our miles are high now, even only having her for 5 years and she is doing well! I would definitely recommend for someone who wants a van without the typical van look!

The carnival has been one of the best decisions I’ve made as a mom of 4 with all 4 being in car seats. The sliding doors alone has been a life changer. The middle aisle is so spacious allowing for my 5 & 6 year old access the third row easily. I sit in the middle seat whenever I need to with ease. The ceiling vents and sunshades are a necessity seeing that our summers get into the 100’s, and the remote start was a game changer to turn the car on to cool off before getting in. I’m obsessed with the car and love it so much!! It makes my life easier and is more practical than anything else and that’s what I really need in a car!

I’m obsessed! We bought in March of 2024. I love the flexibility of the second row bench seat. This car is a car seat machine! My husband is 6’4” and I’m 6’ and we both fit very comfortably. I’ve sat in the second and third row as well, and have ample leg room! We only have 2 kids right now so I have the third row down 99% of the time and the trunk space is impeccable. We’re expecting our third in February and I’m excited to play around with where everyone’s car seats will go. We will have a forward facing 5 year old and a rear facing three year old, along with the newborn seat. We also had a hitch installed to tow our pop-up camper and it tows like a beast! I was apprehensive because I don’t want to blow the transmission, but it’s been great so far.

I’m very loved this van so far with two kids- I usually have the third row folded down and I’ve always got a scooter and tricycle stroller just in case, with plenty of space for my Costco groceries and changing a diaper

I love this car! I had a previous mini van that I hated driving and traded in to buy this. Still love having the sliding doors to do drop offs and pick up of kids even though they are older now. The only part of the interior I dont love is the tracks for the seats as they are definitely a trap for crumbs and garbage.

Currently pregnant with twins and have a 2.5yo. The plan was to keep out Nissan Pathfinder when we learned we were expecting but quickly had to pivot when we knew we would have 3 under 3, all rear facing. The carnival is IT! Superior to sienna and odyssey! The ventilation for all kids, the cup holders, the ease of removing chairs and endless configurations of seats, the DEEP trunk, the high ceiling, even in 3rd row. It has it all. My 6’2” football playing husband says he can sit “for a long time” in third row and be totally comfortable when all seats are in. The technology and passenger view on camera is top notch. There are USBC plugs everywhere and several standard outlets. The button-open on sliding doors is awesome for toddlers so they can do it themself. Being pregnant with a very big toddler, it’s MAJOR that he can confidently climb into car and up into seat all on his own - he could not do this in pathfinder. Bottom line is this - full size SUVs *could* have fit 3 under 3 rear facing. But the effort and manipulation of loading all 3 is hard. Car seat tilt feature or no, rear facing seats are tricky. Minivan is the only way to do it with ease and without sacrificing future functionality because you can always put the seats back in - it’s SO easy. Never being stressed about parking spots and room for doors to open is huge. Sitting lower to ground is also huge for young kids to climb in. I do encourage buyers of carnival to consider 2025 or newer - they tweaked some designs which hugely improved safety ratings starting in 2025. We have absolutely ZERO regrets!!!

I have a 2026 Kia Cardinal Hybrid that I absolutely love for my family of 4. We are frequent road-trippers and I’m a carpooler, so I love the flexibility and space that the carnival offers us. My husband is also 6’6”, so space is a priority in the driver seat, as well as for a passenger sitting behind him when he drives. He fits incredibly well! I love being able to have the best of both worlds with the ability to have a full bench in the second row, ability to put the middle seat down as a center console, or being able to remove any of those second row seats. Each seat also moves independently on a track forward or backward, so it provides so many seating options. I went with the hybrid to try to save on gas, and average about 35 mpg. We traded in our 2022 Pacifica for this vehicle, and it definitely feels more like a “cool mom” car to me than the Pacifica and teachers in Carlie’s often mistake it for an SUV and are surprised to see the sliding doors. Love it!

So much space. Really easy to do 3 across and then have the whole trunk available! The fact you have to subscribe and pay for some services is really annoying though. A really nice drive

We love the Carnival! It's very mechanically reliable and turns really sharp so it's easy to get in and out of tight places. It's pretty snappy too with some get up and go. We have the base model + seat package (so it has the second row middle seat). We've had our kids sit 3 across for most of our time owning it and that works great as long as no one needs to climb into the third row. I could see moving one of the kids to the back to help with that as we drive more kids around and carpool. I'd emphasize that the base model has no bells and whistles...not even power liftgate. Something to keep in mind at grocery pick up. :) It also isn't ideal how easily every little toy, crayon, and crumb falls in the seat rails and you can't get it out. Truly those are my only complaints, we love the car and think it looks great too!

I have had my 2025 Kia Carnival (Minnie is her name) for almost two years and I don’t have a single negative thing to report. I truly am still obsessed with this car. I have the bench seat rather than captain chairs and I highly recommend. There have been many times when we are with family and someone suggests to ride together, and we can all fit in Minnie! Cannot imagine life without the sliding doors. Never even think about my kids swinging their doors open too aggressively. Always have enough room for any road trip, and don’t have to leave behind anything for space. Overall this has been an amazing purchase for our family. I watched every Car Mom review before purchasing! So grateful for this decision.

I’ll never admit I love this car purely because it’s a minivan…. However, it’s changed my life for the better and I’ll drive it until my kids are out of car seats and can be trusted not to door ding the car next to us!! Seriously a car seat machine and I’m planning to do three across when baby #3 arrives. My only two complaints are 1) the front cup holders are squeaky when using a Yeti cup… no idea why just the Yeti’s particular shape and material. Very loud when kids are sleeping! 2) the backseat camera is great except you can’t see a child in a rear facing car seat. I like to be able to see my kids’ faces and still need my plug in monitor for that. If it were placed further back on the ceiling, it would be perfect!

After buying the Nissan Pathfinder and thinking it would be our family car, when we got pregnant with our third, it was clear that wouldn’t be an option. We got the Kia Carnival and have LOVED it. It works perfectly for our family of 5, with room to flex for more if needed. Adults fit comfortably in the back to help with kids (we have a car sick kiddo), and it never feels crammed. We got the gas over the hybrid because they do drive very differently, and we were nervous the braking on the hybrid would make our daughter sick. The gas mileage is comparable to our Pathfinder, so no loss there. The most annoying part (in my opinion) is the switching of profiles. It takes forever to load, so makes it harder to hop in and go once the kids are loaded because you have to wait for everything to switch over and load before I can set my seat back to the memory settings.

We drove this car to Texas to pack the rest of my belongings to bring home to New York. I loved this car so much, lots of space I could keep both my kiddos far away from each other while able to pack my stuff up to come home. My son still ask to get a kia. The ONLY downside is it isn't awd so I cannot purchase one for myself.

We have absolutely loved switching to this Kia Carnival. It’s much better looking than most minivans on the market and the interior leather and fancy technology makes it feel way more luxurious than a minivan. The safety features on just the second trim level are so impressive!

I have owned my 2018 Kia optima for about 5 years! When I bought the car it had 6,000 miles now it’s sitting at 106,000 miles. I have not had any major mechanical or technical issues, the only time it needed a serious repair was from being rear ended. As a mom of a 12 year old the truck space is amazing for sport equipment! This car has also taken me on road trips up and down the east coast! Would highly recommend Kia vehicles!

We bought this car new in May 2022 and it has been perfect for us as we grew our family. We began with three rear facing seats and now we have two in boosters and one forward facing. Typically we remove one of the outboard seats, put two kids in the back and one in the middle row. It was worked out great for us. On longer drives when we need the larger trunk space we do three across. It's a little hard for my older two to buckle their boosters. Over all I have very few complaints. I don't love the tv screens on the back of the first row seats, and we've had a couple things recalled. I wish the hybrid was an option when we bought it years ago. We are planning to keep this car for quite a while, but I would definitely buy again when we're in the market.

The car is absolutely phenomenal when it comes to working with kids in car seats. I have had up to 4 rear facing car seats in the carnival and there is plenty of space. It’s the best looking minivan on the market by far. It drives well enough, but not my favorite car to drive. Absolutely love the car overall for its functionality and space as a mom with two young kids.

We love our mini van! We initially had a large 3 row suv but found with 3 kids in car seats it wasn’t functional for us. The sliding doors and trunk space are a game changer. We wanted a hybrid and the ability to do 3 across for longer drives and the carnival was the only one that fit that bill. I do wish it drove a little better in the snow/ice but it’s a compromise I’m willing to make for the overall functionality of the car. We get over 500 miles to a tank with the hybrid

As a mom who had sworn off minivans from a young age, I found myself with 3 in car seats and needing any easy school drop off arrangement. Enter the ‘MPV’ by Kia. They don’t call her a minivan, she’s a Multi-Purpose vehicle. And the only ‘minivan’ I’d consider even looking at because it’s looks the least like one. I’ve had multiple people at school drop off be confused that it has sliding doors because they think it’s a SUV - win! We did 3 across (2 forward facing + a rear facing infant) to maximize trunk space. Have since changed to 2 boosters and a rear facing, and occasionally carpool and have room for the neighbors in the back. The middle seat in the 3rd row can be tight, but doable, even between 2 boosters. I love that every seat in the 2nd row can be removed for different arrangements, but I do wish the outboard seats had car seat tilt to help with access into the 3rd row. I still look forward to the day that I switch to a large SUV, but with having 3 in car seats/boosters for a couple more years, this has been a great option. The kids love the sliding doors, it makes school drop off sooooo easy. Plus I never worry about them whacking another car in a parking lot with a swinging car door. Overall very great. I wish it came in AWD! But only complaint is that it’s technically a minivan 😆

I never thought I would drive a mini- van, but never say never, right? I liked the styling of the Carnival because it looked less like a van, and more like an SUV with sliding doors. This has worked really well for our family. My kids sit 3 across in the second row and the third row is usually completely down for strollers, wagons, small bikes, groceries or our dog Lucy (lab). The interior is good, cup holders are ok and air vents above the kids make me feel more comfortable on hot days, but they really missed the mark on organization. I wish there was better options for my purse/diaper bag. All the organizing places they have don’t really serve a purpose, it’s like they just slapped something in a spot and called it organization. Overall, it wasn’t a dealbreaker and we love the car.

Absolutely love it, makes life easier as a mom of 3. I love that the kids can open the doors themselves with the push button on door handle. I love the Seat flexibility and trunk space! The one thing I don’t love about the technology is that the volume and the AC are on the same dial but you have to switch back and forth on the touch screen between AC controls and the other set of items which you can manage volume, settings, passenger view, etc. I love the drive, gas mileage with the hybrid and definitely the look of it. My husband was NOT going to drive a minivan but the Carnival convinced him with its unique SUV looking body style. Highly Recommend!

This is actually my second Kia carnival! I bought a 22 carnival (lowest trim level) with the birth of my second. I was feeling overwhelmed bc she didn’t like the car and scream. Insanity drove me to the purchase and then I went a year later to take care of a cosmetic recall and came out with the higher trim level 2024 😂 the girls on camera is worth the extra money as well as the trunk button. During the chip shortage it was slim pickings. This is my perfect car. My only gripe- I wish the seat was not as hard, and booster buckling is hard in the back with the bench. Too many positives to count.

I am a big fan of this minivan and it checks all of the boxes for a mom of 4. The only thing missing, there is no flat surface to change a baby. I previously had a mid size SUV and the flat trunk space allowed an area to sit baby to change.

We got this right before we brought baby #4 home, but we ordered it when I found out I was pregnant with #3…and she was worth the wait! The space and car seat capabilities are amazing. We removed the second row seat behind the driver and having such easy access to the third row is a game changer. Plus that space is also great for diaper changes, or hopping in to buckle everyone when it’s raining. My husband is 6’ and normally drives a bigger truck, and is always happy to drive this. It is comfortable to ride in, decent gas mileage, and great tech. I would say I average 23.5 mpg. We ordered an EX, but ended up with the SX and all of the safety features that I didn’t think I needed have been so nice to have. The trunk space is fabulous. I can easily fit a double bob plus sports bags and/or groceries. A 4 seater wonderfold fits in the trunk, but there isn't room for much else. We are almost at 3 years with this car and it continues to meet and exceed our expectations with each stage of life.

The Carnival is just what my family needs in this stage of life. With 3 young kids in carseats, we needed the flexibility to do 3 across or rearrange seating as needed for everyday use and/or travel. Each seat in the 2nd row is independent, on its own track, and can be removed completely if desired. I appreciate that the rear seats are manual because I find the power seats in other vehicles to be more finicky and time consuming. My 5 year old can easily move the second row outboard seat in the Carnival to access the 3rd row. We debated a minivan vs. SUV but with the ages of our kids, rolling school drop off and general daily versatility, the minivan is unmatched. Also I am short (5'2") and getting my small kids into an SUV would be much more difficult. My husband (6'3") also found the exterior very appealing and can comfortably drive the vehicle with a rear-facing child directly behind him. The interior storage has room to improve, especially compared to other minivans. There's not much built in storage compartments but overall the capacity is exceptional and I just keep a tote of necessary items in the trunk. I LOVE the deep trunk!! Such a blessing compared to my previous 3-row SUV. We put cross bars on the roof and have taken it on road trips with a roof rack for extra storage. We have the hybrid, which is phenomenal on gas and drives really well. It has 3 drive settings and I most prefer to drive in "Smart" over "Eco" or "Sport". It picks up quickly on the highway and still uses the electric motor often. The biggest downside is FWD. Unfortunately it was not available in AWD and that was an adjustment. We live in New England and had to upgrade the tires during the first winter because it was sliding on snowy terrain.

I purchased my 2026 Kia Carnival in July 2026 after moving from a Ford Expedition Max. After welcoming my third child earlier this year, I realized the Expedition, while great for car-seat space, just wasn’t the best fit for my family anymore. At 5 feet tall, constantly stepping up to get the kids in was a lot. I wanted something I could load comfortably from the ground, and I really liked the versatility and seating options of the Carnival. After three months of ownership, I can confidently say I really love this vehicle. There are a few small things I’d improve, but overall it has been a great fit for our family. The biggest thing I love is the space and flexibility. We recently drove from East Texas to 30A for a full family beach trip and packed luggage for five people, a pack-and-play, beach chairs, a beach tent, and basically everything else you can think of. I was still able to keep the third row up, which gave us so much flexibility with seating and cargo. My six-month-old was able to sit comfortably in her Joie Mint latch car seat either in the 2nd row with her brothers, or 3rd row with me. I also really appreciate how easy it is to get the kids in and out. Being able to do everything while standing on the ground instead of climbing onto a running board makes a big difference. The interior feels very upgraded, the technology is great, and for a family vehicle, I actually think it’s pretty fun to drive. It handles really well and doesn’t feel like a huge family hauler. My complaints are pretty minor. I wish the media and climate controls were a little more straightforward instead of having to use the touch toggle. I also think Kia could have gone a little more luxurious with the exterior design. I have the EX and I’m not a huge fan of the geometric wheel design. I prefer a more classic look, although that’s something I can always change later. I’m really happy with the switch. The Expedition was a great vehicle, but the Carnival serves my family best.

We just bought this car 5 hours ago, so this review may be a bit premature and might need updating as we get more acquainted, BUT so far I love it! This will actually be my husband’s primary car as I have a telluride, and I think I like this one better than the telluride. One thing I love is the middle bench seat and its functionality. We have three kids, 4 1/2, 2 1/2, and a newborn. Our current car seat setup is forward facing, rear facing and infant seat. I loved how easily our existing car seats fit in the second row. This is our first experience with a minivan, so another thing we are loving is the sliding doors. This car drives so smoothly, I truly do not feel like I’m in a van. We did get the LX with seat package trim level, so tech is a little limited compared to other trims, but we feel it has the essentials. I’ve never pictured myself as a mini van person, but am here to tell you that if you’re on the fence, do it!

I absolutely love my Carnival! I have always drove big trucks and a Tahoe and swore I would never be a minivan mom hahah well now I am not sure I will never not be a minivan mom until all my littles are older. We have loved the space, the option to remove seats in the middle row for extra space and the easiest access. The drive and tech features it has is amazing!! I recommend it to everyone!!

The car seat set up for the Kia carnival while also considering the need to have 1-2 adults ride with us occasionally is top tier. Technology is amazing and easy to use. Only thing I don’t love are the open rails where things get stuck but that’s the trade off with seats that move around so well.

I recently purchased the 2026 Kia Carnival EX HEV. I am overall happy 3500 miles in and would recommend the vehicle! What I love: - sporty look - gas mileage - passenger view camera - large dash screen display - trunk size and overall roominess of the car - button on sliding door handles so my kids can easily open by themselves What I dislike: - The car cannot be locked until the sliding doors are fully shut. Sometimes this is an agonizing wait while in a busy parking lot with kids. (My biggest complaint) - Unable to lock the car from the trunk - Hard to see out blind spot with rear sunshades up. I believe this can be avoided by upgrading to SX model with blindspot cam. - I don’t love the look of the EX front grill. The SX and above have nicer looking grills. - I wish there was more storage space in the front console.

I got my 2026 Kia Carnival Hybrid a month before my third was due and have had it for a few months now and absolutely love it! I went from a Suburu Forester that I had for 8 years and plan to have this for 8-10 and it’s perfect for young children! I love the sliding doors so I don’t have to worry about my kids hitting another car in the parking lot and in tight spots it’s so much easier to get the kids in and out. Tons of trunk space even with the third row in use! I was really impressed with the interior and the technology. My only half point off is for a few minor storage things (door cup holders and the little mini odd storage spot on the passenger can’t hold much. I also love the functionality of the hybrid, it makes trips to the gas station far less often! I get tons of compliments on how it looks and the automatic opening/closing doors at school drop off! Highly recommend for young families!

I love the styling and features of my Kia Carnival! It feels more like I’m driving an SUV than a minivan. We have had a rattling in the sliding door that has required two trips into the dealership to fix and the last thing has fixed it for now! It is a bit creaky in general, but there are so many things I love about the vehicle I’m hoping it all settles into place soon! All 4 kids are comfy and I love that we have ceiling vents for my rear facer!

Overall I've been really happy with our Carnival. It was more affordable than a sienna and has removable second row seats (middle or aisle seats can move and come out individually) and also has ceiling vents for my two kids in the second row. Those two combined factors led us to this car instead of the other minivans. I also enjoy the more stylish exterior and appreciate the large trunk and have used the back with third row folded down for diaper changes and car potty trips. In our 3rd year of use the AC is smelling gross which I found out is a common problem with this car as the AC drainage tubes can get moldy and we had to replace the stock tires already. It has also had a few recalls but Kia handled them quickly and they were minor. Overall the car is very comfortable and drives nicely and works great as a family with young kids. I appreciate that the 2024 model has the physical knobs/buttons to change AC and volume settings vs being all in the screen.

Amazing car for families. The second, third row comforts are great for little and adults. Trunk fits my double stroller. Cons- after owning the car for more than a year I’m still not used to the slide buttons on the dashboard to shift between climate control and audio. I also dislike there is no sunglasses holder. I do not have the hybrid and feel the car does burn through gas quickly - wish I would have looked closer at the hybrid option. We love this car !

I purchased this car in January 2026 after owning my previous mini van for 13 years. My car had no tech so it was so nice seeing all the new futures that most have had for awhile. I love everything about this car. It feels so spacious and those with large suv tell me that my car feels bigger. My only negative is it is hard to move the middle row seat to access the back row. sometimes using the accelerator it feels like the car lapses a second before it speeds up.

We really love our Kia Carnival. We went with the middle trim level EX so that we could get the power tailgate, sunshades, passenger view, and wireless charging. We also like the swankier looking tires. If feels like you are getting into a limo SUV with all the tech and interior design. Drives well and is more difficult to park than my Atlas (my husband usually drives the Carnival). The only compliant is the buckles in the 3rd row are stiff on the drivers side so it was hard for my 8 year old in a booster to buckle. We originally wanted 2 in the 3rd row and 1 in the 2nd row with an extra seat for an adult and 1 seat removed for access. Because of the buckling trouble we kept my 6 year old in the 3rd row in a booster on the passenger side, removed the middle seat in the 2nd row for 3rd row access and have my 8 year old on the passenger side in the 2nd row in a booster and my 3 year, almost 4 year old on the drivers side in a forward facing car seat.

I have 3 kids and this car has made my life significantly easier. i can fit my mockingbird stroller & a wagon in the trunk if needed. I usually have one of the outer middle seats out of the car which makes the perfect spot for grocery pickup. I have rear facing car seat in the 1st row and 2 forward facing toddlers in the third row. The spaciousness of a minivan is unmatched. We travel on road trips a few times a year and this summer was the smoothest yet. Being able to comfortably sit in back with the kids and have room for all of our stuff made the trip 10x easier. Ceiling vents 10/10 Passenger View 10/10 Hybrid 10/10 - we werent even considering a hybrid but its been amazing! We live in the city so its been a perfect gas saver for us. P.S. my husband loves to steal this car and drive it...he doesn't feel like hes driving a minivan.

We have three kids, all still in car seats, and the 2025 Carnival Hybrid has been a game changer. The bench and overall cabin layout made installing three seats across the second row way easier than I expected. No wrestling with buckles or fighting for space between seats. The size is exactly right: big enough to fit everyone comfortably with room for strollers, diaper bags, and groceries, but it still feels manageable to drive and park compared to a full-size SUV. The tech package has genuinely impressed me. Everything feels intuitive, and my favorite feature by far is the passenger camera. Being able to check on the kids in the back without twisting around or relying on a mirror is such a small thing that makes a huge difference on long drives. Overall, if you're hauling multiple car seats, this van checks every box: space, comfort, and smart tech that actually makes family life easier.

I couldn’t give her 5 stars for style because she’s still a minivan but she’s definitely the coolest minivan you’ve ever seen. I switched from a Highlander and it changed my life in all of the best ways. I have zero complaints about this car, it’s perfect in every way for this stage of life. And if you squint your eyes she doesn’t even look like a minivan. Current set up: remiced outboard passenger seat (and added cushioned mat to cover tracks). RF seat behind driver, FF seat in middle. Third row passenger side - HBB. I keep 2 extra no back boosters in the car for when we have friends with us. Can fit 3 across in back with boosters but they need help buckling just due to access issues. The hybrid gas mileage is amazing - I feel like I rarely have to get gas which is an added benefit for a busy mom! 10000/10

This car has been the absolute best choice we have made as a family. The seating configurations are fantastic with 4 under 5 in car seats! The removable seats make access to the 3rd row a breeze and the sliding doors allow my kids to enter and exit independently without having to worry about hitting a car next to us. The rear storage is fantastic! We have no issues fitting our 4 seater wonderfold standing up or our triple stroller back there with room for bags and groceries next to either one! The drive and comfort is very similar to the palisade I owned before this except so much more room for our family! Can not recommend this car enough, especially to families with young kids!

We bought this car when we had one in a rear facing seat, now we have a forward facing, rear facing, and infant seat. It’s been so nice to change the car around to fit our needs with each additional child. We even look to rent the same car when traveling because it just works for our family. I swore I wouldn’t be in a minivan- but now I can’t stop talking about it. Car seat installation is very simple. The biggest negative is probably the exposed tracks, they are crumb collectors for sure!

Great for 3 across in the second row! TONS of trunk space with the third row down. Our car seat set up has been: RF Graco 4ever or Triogrow (driver) Nuna Pipa infant seat (middle) FF Chicco MyFit (passenger) We have now flipped the RF Graco to FF and they all still fit great! Infant seat and Chicco have also now swapped and they fit great.

I have 3 car seat installed in the carnival and love it! Every seat in the second row is on its own track and can be moved to access the back. The middle seat can be folded down and has cup holders and a flat space on it. All the second row seats can be removed easily and really makes it customizable. The third row has good space and can easily be stored to give more trunk space. Bonus, is my double bob fits with all the seats up! I was able to do a road trip with three kids and have all our stuff stored in the back for a week trip! Very car seat friendly and comfortable for adults to sit in the back too. Cons are the tracks in the back are crumb collectors and very hard to clean. I added weather tech mats but it doesn’t cover the tracks so just be mindful of that. I have the hybrid and it’s amazing on gas. I consistently get 30/31 MPG

I love love love this car! I have 4 small children and it works like a dream! I have my older two in the third row with the second row out-boarding seat removed! This allows my kindergartener to get out for Carline and load/unload independently! My twin sit in the second row rear facing with lot of room for all kids! The spot where the seat was removed is perfect for diaper changes, loading when it’s raining, snack time, stalling, All the things! We love this car, would buy again in a heartbeat!

We have the seat package and LOVE the flexibility of having a second row bench or taking out one of the outboard seats for easy third row access. We’ve done so many different car seat combinations and have never had an issue with three across, even with our oldest in a booster. Plus we’ve never not been able to fit everything we need for a road trip or vacation in with us! Not to mention, it’s easy to drive. We always thought we’d be an odyssey family but actually didn’t enjoy the drive of the honda as much as we expected. The Kia won!

I love this van. I have put a car seat in each of the rear seats (minus the third row middle) and everyone has enough leg room and elbow room to function. Even with grown up in third row with a rear facing seat. The only things it doesn't have that I wish it did: car seat tilt, that the passenger view could better visualize my rear facing kids. A v8 and/or AWD would be nice too but works great without and those options in other vans would mean loosing things I value more like ceiling vents and three across in the second row

Great minivan for the price. We'd prefer if the middle seats had seatbelts attached to the seats instead of the walls so that we could move the seats back and forth with car seats in them. Apparently it's safer to have seatbelts in the wall, though! My biggest complaint is that the dashboard is all touchscreen, and you need to toggle back and forth to control the media options and the air. I wish it just had separate controls/dials for the air.

We just traded our 2022 Chrysler Pacifica for a 2026 Kia Carnival. We had been having many issues with the Pacifica, and with only 39k miles in 3.5 years, that was concerning. When we decided to get a new vehicle we knew with 3 kids we needed a full size SUV or stay in a minivan. When we realized we did not have the budget for a full size SUV, the minivan became our only option. Based on features, reliability, warranty, price points etc we narrowed it down to the Toyota Sienna or Kia Carnival. Ultimately, we went with the Carnival due to availability in our area (no Siennas anywhere close) and price point for what you get in the Kia was better, along with the warranty (10 year/100k miles). So far after only a few weeks of owning it, I do like it better than my 2022 Chrysler Pacifica (although the room inside the Kia is less in the 2nd and 3rd row). Now, I didn’t sit inside a new Pacifica for apples to apples comparison, but the inside of the Kia does seem nicer. I like the tech that they have as well. Also it is worth noting, I have the EX model, so not the top of the line or not the base model either. I do wish I had gone up 1 more step to have the surround view camera but that was $4k more and came with more features than I felt I needed (2 sunroofs is the 1 thing I remember) so I felt I could live without the camera. Hindsight now, I wish I had just done the next step up. But we LOVE LOVE LOVE the color of one we got!! It is called Ceramic Silver and it is sooooo pretty! The best color vehicle I have had in my 38 years of life my husband and I have owned A LOT of vehicles! My husband wants to find a pickup truck in this same color because he loves it so much. I also like that even though it is a minivan, it feels more SUV like than my Pacifica did. Several people so far have asked me, “Is this a minivan or an SUV?”. Overall I am so far happy with my purchase!

Absolutely love our Kia Carnival for our family of 5. So many seat configurations to play with and everyone is comfortable! Plenty of storage too, we have fit a double stroller AND stroller wagon in it at the same time as three kids! Only thing I wish it had is a heated steering wheel
