Features We Love

The 2024 model continues the fourth-generation design before major changes expected for the 2025 model year.

  • Elite Car Seat Setup: This is one of the best car seat configurations in a full-size SUV. You get lower anchors and tether anchors in the second row (including the middle seat with the bench), plus two sets of lower anchors and three tether anchors in the third row. Not all competitors offer lower anchors back there, so this flexibility is huge for growing families.
  • Truly Spacious Third Row: The third row is actually adult-friendly. There’s real legroom, ceiling vents, USB ports on both sides, multiple cupholders, and even reclining seats. It doesn’t feel like a punishment to sit back there.
  • Massive Cargo & Storage Space: Even the regular wheelbase version offers impressive trunk space, and the Expedition Max adds 12 extra inches just to the cargo area. Power-folding seats, huge door cubbies, and an oversized center console make this a storage dream.

Car Mom Review

The Exterior

Exterior: Big, Muscular, and Confident

The Expedition has a classic, no-nonsense look. It’s muscular, a little sporty, and definitely more truck-inspired than your typical “mom SUV.”

  • Bold Ford grille
  • Strong, sharp beltline
  • Available power-deploying running boards
  • Chrome roof rails
  • Clean, simple rear design

It’s boxy — but that’s exactly how you get this much interior space. Nothing about it feels over-designed or flashy. It just looks strong.

Big, muscular and confident!

First Row

Driver’s Seat: Massive Storage & Some Honest Tech Feedback

Let’s start with the good.

  • Completely digital dash
  • Great visibility
  • Huge center console
  • Four cupholders within reach
  • Double glove box (my favorite mom hack)
  • Massive door cubbies

The center console is square, wide, and high enough to comfortably rest your arm during long drives. I’ve done Zoom meetings in there. I’ve eaten car lunches in there. It’s functional.

I am not a huge fan of the "iPad" style screen. I'd much prefer buttons and knobs!

The biggest frustration? Climate control being inside the screen. Adjusting temperature takes multiple taps, and when the screen glitches, you lose access to your air.

Second Row

Second Row: Team Bench Forever

This bench is chef’s kiss.

  • Massive legroom
  • Heated outboard seats (trim specific)
  • USB-A & USB-C
  • Ceiling vents (huge for rear-facing kids)
  • Separate seat tracks for each position

And because the seats move independently, I can tilt one side for third-row access without disrupting the others.

Captain’s chairs are cute — but bench flexibility wins for me.

Car Seat Set Up:

This is where the Expedition absolutely wins.

With the bench seat:

  • Lower anchors in all three second-row seats
  • Tether anchors in all three second-row seats
  • Lower anchors in both third-row outboard seats
  • Tether anchors across the third row

That’s five full sets of lower anchors and six tether anchors in an eight-passenger SUV.

It also features a car-seat-friendly tilt. If your seat is installed using LATCH, the seat can tilt and slide forward without uninstalling the car seat. That makes third-row access so much easier.

Rear-facing car seats? No problem. There is tons of clearance.

Third Row

Third Row: Truly Adult-Friendly

This is where the Expedition separates itself.

The third row:

  • Fits three passengers
  • Has real legroom
  • Includes ceiling vents
  • Has USB ports on both sides
  • Features multiple cupholders

And the seats recline.

Yes — recline.

Even with the second row pushed back, I still had room. With the second row moved forward slightly, I could comfortably sit back there as a full-size adult.

No items found.

Trunk

Cargo Space: Regular vs Max

The Expedition comes in two sizes:

  • Regular
  • Expedition Max (12 inches longer — all added to cargo space)

Even the regular version impressed me. I was able to fit a stroller behind the third row. Fold the seats down (power-folding, by the way), and you’re looking at a massive cargo area.

You can even fold the second-row seats from the trunk.

Safety

The 2024 Ford Expedition comes standard with Ford Co-Pilot360 across all trim levels, which means you’re getting key safety features like automatic emergency braking, blind spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, and lane-keeping assist right out of the gate.

My family rented the Expedition on vacation for 4 adults and 1 child in a RF car seat. We had captains seats in the second row so we needed to use the third row. This car fit us and all of our stuff so well! It was comfortable for everyone and easy to drive and park in the small beach town we visited. Think narrow streets and street parking. I loved the split tailgate for diaper changes on the go. I really loved the Expedition as a rental, plan on renting one again and would definitely consider purchasing one.

I purchased my 2020 Expedition used in 2022. I was pregnant with my second at the time and expected to have at least three kiddos. We do not have a third and don’t really need a car this large on a day to day basis, but I love it too much to let it go! My Expedition has a bench seat in the middle, without the extended wheel base. It’s perfect for travel with two kids and a dog! From time to time when I have my nieces or nephews it’s super easy to throw a few extra car seats in. I highly recommend, especially if you have three or four kids!

She is beauty, she is grace. I freaking LOVE this thing! She's a complete powerhouse. I've got 3 kids 5 and under and it's a thing of beauty to carry my whole family plus an extra passenger or two! My only regret is not getting the 2nd row bench. I had it in my 2015 and 2018 expeditions. When I upgraded again (both times due to hail damage) I was in a rush and couldn't find the bench in a max. If I had to do it over again I'd go for the regular sized expedition with the bench and think I'd have plenty of space. With the Max because I've got three kids I HAVE to use the 3rd row. The only time I feel like I'm needing more room is when I want to bring the stroller AND something else, however, we packed all 5 of us in there with the stroller on a 9 hour road trip this summer and she was a powerhouse!!!! I absolutely love this car and will try my hardest to never own anything different! I'll seriously drive her until the wheels fall off or until I get hailed out again! 🤪

Great for teens and all their friends and backpacks sport equipment. Gas mileage is not great worth it for the hauling capacity. I love the large screen but wish the climate control was not integrated into the screen. I miss the knobs and buttons.

I’ve bought or leased my last three vehicles based on Kelly’s recommendations, and she hasn’t steered me wrong yet! I currently drive a 2024 Ford Expedition Limited and absolutely love it. It’s roomy without feeling like I’m driving a bus, incredibly comfortable, has plenty of space for kids, sports gear and everything else we somehow haul around, and it drives SO well for a full-size SUV. The Limited has just the right amount of luxury without being over the top.

Expedition

We purchased this used Expedition after trading in our 2023 Toyota Highlander. We originally purchased the Highlander as a three row vehicle, with very little research on the 3rd row. As my boys hit their teenage growth spurts, a small 3rd row just wasn’t cutting it for leg room. That’s when the Expedition entered the chat! We knew we could only afford a used model; and the Max Stealth package was the only one on the lot. One test drive later was all it took for me to fall in love with the interior roominess! We are beyond the “car seat” years, so that did not factor into our selection. But high school proms, college dorm room shopping, and sports fill our horizon - all of which benefit from the Expedition’s interior space! It’s such a luxury, I can't imagine going back. The vehicle is HUGE, though, and fits in the garage only by the skin of it’s teeth! The camera and parking sensor technology is the only reason I can park this “bus” confidently. Stealth package makes me feel like an FBI agent. The red calipers are an unexpected and fun pop of color. My elderly mom appreciates the power running board and the large handle bar available for climbing in. A few CONS: The only thing I dislike about the tech features is the huge central ipad in the center dash. ALL things are located there, including air control… and I find that to be as distracting as using a phone while driving. I wish it had regular, physical knobs and dials for some features. I understand that not all EXPY's have this huge screen. The heated steering wheel doesn’t get as warm as I’d like. And the small pinhole vents in the leather seats are the perfect size to catch crumbs and food… I’ve had to take a toothpick to those vent holes in order to clean them. One small smear of cream cheese took me over an hour to poke out. I love this car, and can’t imagine a better fit for all three of my growing boys! Who needs a limo when you have an Expy “prom-mobile!” One other con is simply how expensive it is to fill up. It costs us about $75-100 to fill the tank. Overall, LOVE LOVE LOVE this car. My kids feel cool; I feel cool. Proud Mom to drive this bus in the pick up line.

This is my dream car and one day I will drive it, just when my kids are a little older! I was definitely influenced by the CarMom, this car is amazing from the features, the interior styling and convenience, and of course the exterior is beautiful. There were several 2nd row bench cars available in my area for me to have today which was amazing. Ultimately my Financial Advisor husband liked the cost of the Kia Carnival better about a $30,000 difference and they were offering 1.9% interest rate which couldn’t be beat. Love the explorer though, drives smooth, the oval steering wheel was a bit weird at first, love the split tailgate! Compared to my 2019 Escalade Cadillac some of the tech features in the explorer were lacking like the rear view camera. All in all love this car and will drive it one day!

Wow wow wow… I had the privilege of driving this car for a few months while staying with family and it was wonderful. Coming from a sedan, this was a new level of luxury even when only having one child. The expedition I drove was a King Ranch max with all the bells and whistles, which I thoroughly enjoyed although I don’t think they are all necessary. I was absolutely blown away with a turning radius of this beast, I found that I can parallel park much quicker and cleaner than my Sonata. The only issue that I had was the screen and CarPlay had a mind of their own some days. If I can make any suggestion to Ford: PLEASE put temperature control buttons back!

Love the functionality of my expedition. The captain seats for us personally have been so nice due to the ages and height of my kids. The space that the max has provided with 3 kids and the age gap I have has been so useful. The only downside and it’s a big one, I have had my transmission worked on more times than I can count at this point. I would love to get another expedition but not the max in a couple years but the transmission issues makes me very hesitant. But overall it’s such a great family car.

Getting the bench seat for the second row was the best decision we made for our family! I’m able to sit between the kids and hand out snacks, give them drinks, and keep them entertained on our long car rides to the lake. The amount of stuff you can fit in the trunk space is also great even with the 3rd row up. We can put 2 pack and plays, everyone’s bags, plus a cooler. I’m very happy with our new purchase!

I have been wanting an expedition for the longest time, waited for new body style. I love the drive and overall size, it’s enough for 2 kids and dog and gear for us! We have bucket seats, enough room for 2 rear facing seats (which is important to me). There’s tons of great tech- I will say I’ve turned some of it off bc I found it a little over the top now and then. I LOVE that the console slides- it’s my snack “pack” area. Gas mileage is ok- I average 16 around town and 20 on highway ultimately. We do live in upstate NY and it’s great in the snow, we do also tow our snowmobile trailer with it and have no issues. The only thing I wish was different/better is the “under” trunk storage in the back- I had a pilot before and it was massive and deep, I don’t find the expedition under storage to be anything special.

First off I love this car! Our family needs the extra room but not for seats. So the 3rd row is permanently down. We are a BMX family and are able to transport bikes in the back of this Expedition with little issues. Currently we transport 2 bikes and travel a lot! I love the room we have in this vehicle even with all the items we carry. It's also convenient that the Expedition has a tailgate in which we use A LOT. Practically everyday. A con, I do not love that my phone doesn't work seamlessly with the tech system. The maps do not automatically show up and my music doesn't always automatically play when I am trying to play apple music. I have an android and I am not paying for the extended Ford Connectivity Package. I think for the price we paid for this vehicle that should all work and have maps on the screen regardless if my phone is connected or not.

Handles everything flawlessly in the Colorado Rocky Mountains. I got my 25’ Expedition Tremor with the high output engine and 2nd row bench when my oldest started high school. He’s Mr. Social and always wanting to go places and bring extra friends, and with high school athletics, we are always packing extra coolers, travel bags, etc it accomplishes the missions perfectly. The bench is amazing both for bringing extra kids with us, or even just our family of 4 plus our 50# goldendoodle dog who loves to ride center seat. I have the BlueCruise which has been great, even handling the switch backs of I-70 deep in the mountains. We do a lot of highway (not freeway/interstate) driving, so my biggest wish would be for BlueCruise to be available there. The power the high output engine provides is great, when you need that extra get up in go especially at higher elevations and through the mountains. Daily driving in town is easy too. The big tires / wheels is nice because I don’t have to worry as much about dinging my rims if I curb it. 😉

This is a great car for a family of six when all children are still in 5 point harness car seats! It’s spacious seating in all rows. The trunk could be slightly bigger, when we travel to the cabin with no topper we still need two vehicles but that will get better as the kids grow! Overall I love this car and it works for our family, and I didn’t have to get a mini van.

Bought my expedition based of a car mom review. Had a Nissan pathfinder previously and also followed the car mom at the time. Love all the research and information she gave. Both cars fit my family as her reviews showed and loved my buying experience with knowledge on the car prior to being at the dealership. Took some anxiousness away and left me feeling in charge of my experience.

Best car I've ever owned, hands down. The 2026 Expedition Max Platinum Stealth handles great and looks sleek while somehow still fitting three kids and all our sports gear without breaking a sweat. As a realtor, I basically live in my car between showings and carpool lines, so having wireless internet on board turned it into a legit mobile office. Comfortable, practical, and stylish. I'd recommend it to any busy parent juggling work and family on the go.

I went from a GMC Yukon to the ford expedition max and it is much more comfortable and overall nicer on the inside. There is plenty of trunk room and legroom in the second row. We utilize all three rows. You don’t have to have a navigation subscription like other cars and it works very well. One downfall are the running boards are electric so they are constantly breaking.

Absolutely love this car for our family of seven! My ranking only went down because of technology. I switched from a GMC to the ford, I do have blue cruise but it does not even have half the roads my gmc had. I do not live near any major interstates and wish my rural highways had it like super cruise did. However, the latches for car seats, the leg room in the 3rd row, the beautiful oval steering wheel, the split tailgate…. Absolute perfection!! I don’t see myself leaving my expedition max as long as I have young kids!!! I have a rear facing car seat, a 5 point car seat and a booster seat, along with 2 kids out of car seats and the options of how to set them all up are endless!! We constantly rearrange and I feel very safe having the kids in every seat! The main reason I looked at switching from my Yukon xl to the expedition was from Kelley’s videos and ultimately, I agreed with everything she had to say. This vehicle is made for our farm life and kid life!!

Here’s an unorganized dump of my thoughts about Big Booty Judy: I love this car. Do I think it’s the coolest looking car? No. But it’s perfect for our family of 5. I’m always shuttling kids to and from practices and I love that I can carpool and pick up my kids’ friends. The trunk space is phenomenal for road trips and Costco runs. My biggest issue has been with the technology, it’s in battery saver mode even after I got a new battery. Something is going on with the electrical side that I need to have checked out, but it still runs perfectly. Have really only had to change the battery, it is very reliable. Cup holders 10/10 Drives like a truck!! Great family car! Highly recommend.

I have had my car 2 years with no issues. with 3 children, a large dog, and frequent roadtrips home (military life); we needed all of the extra space. Previously I drove a minivan- though I loved it, it’s so nice having all of the extra room my expedition has. My expedition drives so good, has a great turn radius compared to other large vehicles, and has all of the extras I need! Highly recommend.

Love my expedition and wish that ford wouldn’t have recently changed the trim lines. I would buy this car over again if they still had the limited with the high end features.

Loved the car! Just felt like the minivan had more features for our growing family (car seats) and price was a little steeper than we were wanting!

I absolutely love this car for my three kids! Everyone has room to fit. I have the captains chairs and my four year old loves being in the third row. It is a big car, but drives and parks effortlessly. The 360 camera really helps with making parking a breeze. I also have tons of trunk space for strollers and etc. We bought this car to keep for the long haul. I anticipate it will adapt well as our kids get older.

This is a great car if you want a full size SUV. It is Max and fits 4 large suitcases In the back with 2 adults still able to sit in the 3rd row. The screen is too large, but the entertainment built in is fun while waiting in the school car rider line. 21 mpg. I call her my workhorse, because she is constantly on the move from sports to sports, running kids, and enjoying an adult night out for 6. Highly recommend the expedition max!

11/10 I am obsessed with the expedition! I have two kids and a 6’6” husband. There is so much room! We have a cabin 3 hours away that we visit often, we have done several cross country trips since owning and nobody has ever complained about being uncomfortable. If you can afford it, BUY IT!

The expedition max is a fabulous mom car! So much room and great features if you have kids in car seats. The second row tilt feature on the seats is great for big kids in the third row with babies or smaller kids in the second row. The max has so much room in the trunk for strollers, groceries and luggage for road trips. It is a tank but doesn’t drive like one. It is so smooth and has a great turn radius which is amazing for such a big car. Highly recommend if you have a lot of kids or even if you just really want a lot of space.

We love our Expedition Max! It is such a comfortable and versatile ride. The second and third row offer awesome car seat setup, but also are great for teens and adults. Very comfortable! The trunk space, and tow package are great! It has a great turning radius too, I can whip it into any parking spot. I have the limited model with the panoramic roof which is so so nice to lighten up the space. I love that ford had all the safety features and electronic options. We actually love the basic controls etc. It has been with our family for over five years through so many car seats etc! I do recommend getting the extended warranty if you have e electric running boards like I do. The finance and sales department at Lombard Ford in Winsted CT highly recommended it as the motors seize on the running boards from road salt. If your in New England take that into account, both sides have been replaced on my car! Otherwise she’s miss dependable!

We bought our Ford Expedition MAX when our three kids were all under 3 years old, and it has been such a great family car! Now that they’re growing, we can still comfortably fit three full-size car seats across the second-row bench—two Nuna RAVAs and a rotating Cybex. For longer trips, we put our oldest in the third row so I can sit between the younger two if needed. The rotating Cybex is also a game changer because we can still tilt the seat forward for third-row access even while it’s rear-facing. Every row is incredibly roomy and comfortable. I’m taller and can comfortably ride in all three rows, and the MAX still gives us plenty of cargo space with the third row up. If you have multiple kids in car seats, the space and flexibility are SO worth it!

I absolutely LOVE my expedition. When we transitioned from two kids to three, one of my biggest concerns was finding a car that would actually work with our car seat configuration. I am SO happy we chose the Ford Expedition. One of my absolute favorite features is the car seat tilt, which I learned about from The Car Mom! I can keep my 2 year old’s car seat installed, spin the carseat forward, tilt the chair, and my 4 year old can easily walk right into the third row and buckle herself in. It makes loading three kids so much easier especially during busy drop off and pick up times. There are so many little features that just make sense for moms. The dropped tailgate in the trunk has become the perfect on the go changing table. The sliding center console gives my diaper bag a home that’s easily accessible and not on the floor. The Expedition is incredibly comfortable, has tons of space, looks great, and most importantly, I feel so safe driving my babies around in it. I am so thankful for The Car Mom and her incredibly detailed review of the Expedition. I spent HOURS watching her YouTube videos and learning everything I could before making such a big decision, and it was absolutely worth it. Her reviews helped me think through things I never would have considered on a normal test drive. We absolutely love our Expedition and it has been such a great fit for our family of five!

I love this car for our family of 7! We have 3 teenagers and 2 kids still in boosters so the interior space was our biggest deciding factor in buying it. We road trip often and are comfy in the car for 12+ hour trips. We have the standard wheelbase, and use a roof top cargo carrier for trips, and it’s perfect. The tech feels outdated compared to the newest model, but it still gets the job done. We have 360 cameras, all the parking sensors, massaging seats, Apple car play, etc. The biggest downfall is Fords transmissions are junk, and it had to be rebuilt before 80,000 miles. Luckily it was still under warranty, but that’s was no fun to be in a dealer rental for weeks while they did the repairs. When my big kids are out of the house and it’s time to down size, I’ll likely look into a Toyota/Lexus but until then nothing beats my Expedition for our big family!!

I drove a Tahoe before the Expedition and thanks to the car mom videos I test drove an Expedition and will never go back! It is extremely kid friendly, comfortable and easy for our family. The only complaint is the trunk space because we could not fit the max in our garage but the split 3rd row makes it easy to store what we need. We are lucky we only need 3 car seats.

We bought a 2022 limited with 9,000 miles in 2024. Bench seat, not max. I LOVE the bench as we get plenty of use out of the third seat between me, grandma, aunt etc with the two kids in the back. All without sacrificing trunk space. We plan to have a third and I didn’t want the bigger model because it wouldn’t fit in our garage and just felt massive. This was a nice size upgrade from my Nissan pathfinder and two years later I do not regret getting the regular size. I would give this car a 5/5 IF we haven’t had the tech issues we’ve had. I’m disappointed because I think the car is plenty fancy and perfect for me, but the bells and whistles we paid for stopped working pretty soon after we bought the car, with no known fix by Ford in the 2 times we’ve taken it in. Adaptive cruise control does not work, an because of that, even regular cruise control is disabled Pre-collision assist does not work My phone is constantly disabled from Apple play The surround sound for things like my blinker and opening my door is broken and it’s this dinky-local sound that sounds cheap. I’ve got lots of friends with expeditions and I’d say about half of them have tech issues, while the other half do not. We’d trade it but it seems no matter what car you get these days you’ll encounter bugs and issues, along with paying a pretty penny

Love my 2026 Ford Expedition platinum. It’s the second Expedition I’ve owned. Smooth ride. Nice technology and features. The tailgate-trunk feature is really nice. Only complaint is I wish there was more leg room in the second row for teen-adult passengers.

We are extremely happy with our 2025 Ford Expedition Active! Ford made a huge upgrade from the 2024 to the 2025 model, especially with the technology and the features that come standard on the Active trim. It feels much more upscale than I expected without having to move up to a higher trim level. We are a family of six, and everyone is very comfortable. The second-row captain’s chairs are great and make it easy to walk through to the third row. I’m especially impressed with the third row because even as an adult, I can sit back there comfortably with plenty of legroom. The power-folding third-row seats are also super convenient when we need more cargo space. I love the redesigned interior, especially the new steering wheel, the huge screen that stretches across the dashboard, and the center touchscreen. Ford included so many upgraded features that I would normally expect to only find on a higher trim. It is also incredibly comfortable to drive. My husband previously had an F-150 and says the Expedition is much more comfortable. The seats are great, it rides smoothly, and for such a large SUV, the gas mileage has been surprisingly good. We average around 19.8 MPG with mostly longer-distance driving mixed with some driving around town. My absolute favorite feature is the split tailgate! I wasn’t sure about it at first, but now I love it. You can open just the upper portion, and the lower section helps keep groceries or luggage from rolling out when parked on an incline. I also wasn’t sure about the two-tone rear at first, but it has really grown on me. The front end looks sharp as well. Overall, Ford did an amazing job with the 2025 redesign. It’s spacious, comfortable, modern, family-friendly, and packed with features. We have been very impressed!

Recently bought this car after seeing it recommended by The Car Mom, and so far, we love it! The biggest selling point for me was that the second row seats can tilt forward even with car seats installed. We also went with the bench seat and I love that the middle seat is actually full size! I’m also a big fan of the dual dash screens in the 2025 and newer models. Fingers crossed we continue to love it and stay issue free!

I had a Yukon before this , the transmission went out after only a couple of years so I was forced to look for another vehicle . Mind you a I was pregnant with #3 so I know I needed something with space . As soon as I drove the expedition I knew it was what I wanted . We got the Max for the extra trunk space - it’s a must ! And the car seat tilt has been life changing . I have only had black interior cars before and was what I had wanted initially , but there wasn’t one on the lot and I was in need of a new vehicle so was forced to get the tan. And honestly it’s been the best think that could have happened , I LOVE IT . it brightens up the interior , and even with 3 kids it feels more clean than my black Yukon ever did . Will never go back to any other color interior . Overall so happy with the Expedition !

Love this car. We bought a 2025 platinum with the stealth performance package (SPP). I wish with the SPP we could have had alternative interior options - all black was our only choice. Other than that we have been very happy. Our daughter sits in a Nuna Exec car seat, and that fits very comfortably in the second row captains chair. She has plenty of room and is unable to kick the back of my seat, which is a win for me!

It is THE best car for families. I’ve always driven a Ford - f-150, Edge and now the Expedition and it’s my favorite. I have the max so it has a ton of space. We road trip often with our two toddlers, all their gear, and a Labrador and it never feels too crowded. I hated the mandatory black on the back because it reminded me of a cow or Oreo, but it’s grown on me. Only downfall is a blind spot on the right side, but it isn’t a big deal when you use your blinker because of the side cameras, which I can’t drive any car without now. It is functional but feels luxurious and very comfortable. 10/10 recommend

We have the Timberline trim package, which is a more lifted car with more tow capacity. I love this car. We’ve had an opportunity to trade it in, but I’ve not found a car that is comfortable, works great for car seats (especially with tall adults!), and can tow. The only downside is when we tow the enclosed trailer, our gas mileage is horrible!

My Expedition Stealth package was a favorite SUV for me! The interior cabin room is amazing! So much room the in the 2nd and 3rd rows! Trunk space is okay with the 3rd row up but not huge. It’s a great vehicle with kids who play sports and for traveling. The interior is roomy, comfortable and the seats are huge! I loved everything about it besides the transmission! At 42k miles we had to replace the transmission, luckily it was under warranty. Another con is the value. The Expedition does not hold its value. It’s a beautiful, sporty SUV and drives like a dream! I’d love to get another one.

FUNCTIONAL. That’s what sold me on the Expedition ultimately! We needed more room, mainly in the middle row. But, I couldn’t sacrifice cargo area and wanted more everyday storage space. After considering all options, the Expedition came out on top. I chose the Tremor edition since I was used to an off-road vehicle (Lexus LX). We love how it drives and how extremely functional and comfortable it is for our family!

I love this vehicle! Very roomy in the driver and passenger seats. Lots of usable cup holders. Great leg room in the second and third row, adjustable since the second row captain's chairs are on sliders. Great trunk space.

I absolutely love my 2020 expedition. This model will be my forever model! We are a family of five, with three kids in car seat seats. There’s a lot of legroom for my husband who is 6’3. I will say the next one I get, I will most likely get the Expedition, Max. There is a lot of room in the third row, but when the third row is up, you lose a lot of truck space. All three of my kids are in some sort of car seat. We have a rear facing, forward facing, and a booster all in the middle row to utilize the whole trunk space for now.

We’ve had this far for over a year now, and got it used off of Carvana. I will say that the space, 2nd & 3rd row comfort, and versatility with the car seat placement is what drove us to love this car. We love CarPlay, however, we’ve had some issues with technology and connectivity of our phones on/off. We also have a minivan, and I struggle with missing the sliding doors, of course. The main pet peeve with this car is that our trim (or maybe all trim with this year) doesn’t have a button to open up the back, or to close the back. All of it is manual, which is interesting.

I can’t speak highly enough about my Expedition Max. It easily fits my 3 car seats and a fourth with fit no problem. Even with the third row in use I have more trunk space than I have had in previous SUVs. There are occasional recalls but Ford will come pick up your car, fix it, and drive it back so it really isn’t a huge issue. 10/10 would recommend!

Ford Expedition Max is a great family vehicle. We have 5 kids and it easily fits multiple car seats and boosters in each row. Love that we can put a collapsed stroller or multiple suitcases behind the third row while it’s up. Great truck for towing and for roadtrips.

We LOVE our Ford Expedition! It is perfect for 4 kids and I opted for the bench based on the fact that each of the middle row seats move independently from one another. They are roomy and spacious - making it the perfect vehicle when you're hauling a ton of kids. Plus it's easy to fold down seats as needed and access to the 3rd row is easy!

As a mom of two young kids, the 2026 Ford Expedition has seriously blown me away! The technology is incredible and makes everyday life with kids so much easier, while the design is absolutely out of this world. It’s stylish, comfortable, spacious, and still feels fun to drive. Ford really thought of everything with this one—it’s the perfect combination of family-friendly and luxury. I’m completely obsessed!

I’ve owned my 2024 Ford Expedition White Platinum since 2023, and I can confidently say this is the most comfortable vehicle I’ve ever ridden in. It’s reliable, has more miles on it than I care to admit, and somehow I have become a child magnet. I only have ONE child, yet I apparently run a free shuttle service because I almost always have at least four kids with me. 😂 The good news? Everybody fits comfortably. It turns on a dime, has a HUGE gas tank, and has air vents IN THE CEILING. Let me repeat that: AIR VENTS IN THE CEILING. 🙌🏼 This may be the single greatest feature ever invented for a mom hauling kids around Texas. It’s basically a rolling living room with wheels. Comfortable, roomy, dependable, and capable of transporting an entire small baseball team if necessary.

I had the 2020 Expedition Max which had some problems, partially due to the fact that the previous owners didn’t take care of it. But I loved it so much. Loved the drive and the space throughout, including trunk space. So when it was time for an upgrade, I went with the same car. A 2026 Ford Expedition Max KR. Love the upgraded technology and the split tailgate is a game changer! My husband and I both have no issues sitting in the back seat when needed, my husband being 6’ and with very broad shoulders. We would choose this car all over again.

Great car for 3 or more kids. I love everything about it except for; the cruise control camera is frequently beeping telling you to pay attention (even when you are!), and you have to have your hands a certain way or the camera is covered and will beep at you. There is a little noise from driver’s side door but Ford said it was functioning normally.

I have bench seats that I use daily and then the third row for when I’m doing sports carpool and need extra space. I love the set up for my family. Being able to put the 3rd row down when we’re traveling and having the flexibility to have it for carpooling was important for us. I love my expedition!

The Ford Expedition Max has the most comfortable ride and easiest technology to use out of all the cars I had test driven. I also love that it still has physical buttons for the air conditioner. It drives like a dream and we can fit 8 people comfortably and still have room for a stroller and luggage with the third row up!

I purchased a Ford Expedition as I transitioned away from a Chrysler Pacifica. While I do miss the sliding doors and DVD player for long drives (we had to borrow DVDs from our local library!), the Expedition has been great for our family of 5. Would recommend to any mom looking to get out of their minivan but still have plenty of space!

I love this car! Even with only having 2 children, the is car meets our needs. We take multiple roadtrips each year and the Expedition Max is perfect for our long journeys. The space, the comfort, the ride are all stellar. I love the technology and can’t go back to a vehicle without Blue Cruise for those long (or let’s be honest—quick) trips. Would 100% recommend!

It’s a wonderful mom car, with plenty of space and great features for parents and children. There is a full size third row, which comfortably sits adults and children. We have tons of cup holders for all the drinks! One of my favorite things is how comfortable the seats are, as I’m driving quite a bit every day.

We have 2023 Expedition XLT with second row bench. With not having the max the bench seat is needed we often have to put two seats down in the back to fit all the things for sports (catchers bag which is huge, wagon, cooler, chairs, etc). We have 4 boys one is still in booster and one is in a 5 point harness booster. They all fit comfortably. We are looking to get the max within the next couple months. We are undecided on bench again because we love the flexibility but these boys are only getting bigger and the captains chairs would be nice and give them even more leg room as they grow. As an adult I find the second row comfortable. With the third row up I am shocked there’s not more room in the back hence putting half the seats down in the back. The car drives well even in the Michigan winters. Highly recommend for big families!

I have three kids each 19 months apart and this car is the best! We have the limited trim level in the expedition max and we use every square inch of this car. We have taken multiple road trips and weekend camping trips with two pack n plays, tons of baby and toddler gear, strollers, tents, and luggage and it all fits nicely with while maintaining a view outside the rear window. I will often carpool with my adult friends to dinner and everyone is comfortable in the middle and third row and the carseat tilt is a game-changer for our parents to easily climb into the third row even with all the carseats installed. It's not gas efficient but it has a huge tank so I don't have to fill up that frequently when I'm just driving around town and it lasts forever on a road trip. The only complaint I have about the car is that the technology for the infotainment center can be glitchy... occasionally taking a few moments for the song information to load or the apple car play to connect but that only happens sporadically and it has always caught up. I appreciate that most of the car is technological where I want it and analog where I need it. We've had zero mechanical issues with it and I love the touchpad entry on the driver door. 11/10 recommend! I just NEED it in a hybrid...

Love my Expedition Max! With the 3rd kid still in a car seat, the car seat tilt was a must once I discovered this. Makes getting to the third row super easy. Also love the split tailgate so groceries don’t fall out, especially after Sam’s Club runs with no bags. Seats are comfortable, drive is smooth. Great family car!

My husband and I both love Fords and recently got a pre owned 2025 Platinum Expedition. We wanted a car that we both enjoy driving, is roomy and great for traveling. The expedition gives us all of that and MORE. It is super user friendly technology wise - love the new smaller screen and updated dash screen. The center console storage is great and I really like how it can move back to reveal hidden storage. Our kids love the captains chairs and having their own space. This is my dream mom car and so blessed we had the opportunity to buy this vehicle pre owned and it’s basically new without the new price tag. Would highly recommend the expedition.

I absolutely love my Expedition Max. With 3 kids under 5 it is such a game changer to be able to have them all in the 2nd row bench! The extra space in the back with the 3rd row down makes me SAHM life so much easier because I don’t have to take things in and out depending on what we are doing. My stroller, pool bag, baby dome, etc. all get to live back there. I think when I go to get a new car in 5 years I will get the newer version of what I have. Absolutely recommend!!

Bought largely from the Car Mom’s recs herself! We did go with the expedition instead of the max purely because we really valued fitting it well in our garage. Have two large dogs and two kids and lots of stuff! Super glad to have the upgrade. Drives really well and feels like a powerful vehicle instead of sluggish or too big.

I've owned my 2025 Ford Expedition Max for almost 6 months now and as a mom of two girls I am OBSESSED! The new upgraded look on the exterior and interior checks all my boxes. The technology in the vehicle feels so luxury and can we talk about the BlueCruise?! AMAZING! As a family, we take lots of road trips and having that feature has been a game changer. Buying a car can be a big purchase and as a family we have zero regrets with our 2025 Ford expedition Max.

What mom car dreams are made of! I went from a Volvo XC90 to this and absolutely love having the extra space in feeling larger on the road. The twin turbo engine has a lot of power and has great towing capabilities which my husband really likes. Second and third row are great for my car seat set up in the car seat tilt is superior when accessing the 3rd row. I do have the 2020 model so my only complaint so far is the dash technology. It’s very basic compared to my Volvo I drove for a long time. Overall I absolutely love the expedition max!

I had the Expedition Max and loved it. It was preowned when we bought it. We did have to replace the transmission which we found out is a common issue with these years. We had 3 kids on the 2nd row bench including a 3 year old in a Graco slim fit, a 1.5 year old rear facing and a newborn in a Doona rear facing. We did utilize the third row often when we had other kids with us or when my son would begin bothering the girls we would sit him in the back. The carseat friendly tilt makes it so easy to tilt for third row access as long as the car seat is installed with lower anchors. We have just recently turned our youngest around as she's over 2 and now have 3 slim fits in the second row all forward facing. Another big plus is the amount of cupholder this car has. So nice and functional for a full time mom car. I have put a double Zoe in the back, a double BOB at times as well as a wagon when someone else needed me to carry to the location. No regrets!

Me and my family love this car! We have the bucket seats on the second row. But it very comfortable for me, my husband, and toddler. We always have room for extra passengers and we love that. The trunk with 3rd row up is on the smaller side but it works for us.

The expedition max is everything I could dream of for a family car. From travel hockey to all the things in life. With the 3rd row up I can easily fit extra kids (or even adults), plus 3-4 hockey bags in the cargo area. House projects? Put the 2nd and 3rd row down, and I can throw in sheets of plywood and long pieces of wood that would normally stick out of a truck bed. Travel trailer camper? Get the heavy duty tow package and you’re ready to go glamping for the weekend. Seriously, we have loved everything about this car. The inside isn’t super flashy like the more luxury/expensive SUVs, but as a simple person, that doesn’t bother me. Too much technology is not my thing. I would highly recommend this car to anyone.

I feel that the new ford expedition is a great value for the performance and technology that you receive. We got the Premium package and have been very impressed with all the features included. We also needed a larger vehicle with towing capabilities and ford does a great job with trailer package features. We have captains chairs and two car seats and it is still spacious to get to the third row with a rotating car seat but the car seat tilt in the car is also very convenient. One of my favorite features is the split tailgate. I love that it helps keep all my grocery bags in place and we have all been there where we need to change a diaper from the trunk so the split tailgate makes the perfect changing table on the go.
