Last year of the current body style (applies to 2020–2025 models)

  • Second row amenities include ceiling vents, sunshades and USBs.
  • Best in class second row leg room. Makes for comfortable passengers and great for rear facing carseats.
  • Competitive trunk space with additional hidden storage beneath.
Car Mom Review

The Exterior

The Kia Telluride's exterior immediately grabbed my attention with its bold, upscale design that still feels rugged enough for weekend adventures with the kids.

No items found.
The strong lines and distinctive grille give it a confident look. It’s the kind of SUV that makes school runs, errands, and road trips all look effortlessly put-together.‍

First Row

The interior is one of the Telluride’s biggest strengths.

The light interior option is absolutely stunning, with:

  • Faux wood trim
  • Soft-touch materials throughout
  • A clean, modern layout that still feels intuitive

One downside: the door cubbies are pretty shallow, which isn’t ideal for families who carry a lot of stuff. But overall, the cabin feels upscale and thoughtfully designed.

You get a 12.3-inch infotainment display paired with a digital instrument cluster. While they aren’t technically one continuous screen, the black trim gives it a seamless look that feels very premium.

I love that Kia kept physical buttons on the Telluride (Kia did not do this on the Carnival and it is my biggest complaint with that van!):

  • Separate volume and climate controls
  • Heated steering wheel
  • Heated & ventilated seats
  • Wireless charging
  • Multiple USB-C ports

And yes — four cup holders within driver reach. My dream come true!

Second Row

This is where the Telluride separates itself.

  • Second-row legroom: 42.4 inches
  • (Grand Highlander: 39.5 inches)

Those inches matter — especially with rear-facing car seats.

Even with a baseless infant seat installed, I (at nearly 6 feet tall) had excellent legroom. Adults are comfortable here, kids have space to grow, and the amenities are fantastic:

  • Built-in sunshades
  • Ceiling air vents (huge for kids in car seats)
  • Seat-back storage and charging ports

If you have older kids riding primarily in the second row, you do not need to jump to a full-size SUV for space alone.

The Telluride is available in both a bench seat or captain's chairs... I am usually Team Bench — but not in the Telluride.

🚫 Skip the bench seat entirely.

Why?

  • Severe seatbelt overlap
  • Three-across is not possible
  • The bench is only available on the lowest trim

The captain’s chairs are the right choice. Period.

There are lower anchors and tether anchors in both captains chairs so you can safely put two rear or forward facing car seats in the second row. In the third row there is one set of lower anchors on the driver’s side so you could put two rear-facing car seats back there either using the seat belts or one using the lower anchors. There are also 2 tether anchors in the third row, but the 2 tether anchors are next to each other and the middle seat is super narrow so really there is only room for one forward facing car seat in the third row. This means you can fit at most 3 forward facing car seats in this car. Another thing to note, is this car does not have the car seat tilt so if you have the bench seat with rear facing car seats on either outboard seat there is no way to get to the third row.

Third Row

To get to the third row of this Kia Telluride you have a few options. Either you can shimmy in between the captain chairs if there aren’t rear facing car seats in the way or you can press one of two buttons on the second row seats—either at the top of the seat or on the bottom, which is great so older kids can get in and out of the car by themselves at grade school drop off. The Telluride has one of the roomiest third rows and I could sit all the way back here for a long road trip and be comfortable. But 3 people cannot fit back here. The middle seat is basically nonexistent. It is 5.5” wide, which doesn’t fit anything. Can’t fit a human, can’t fit a car seat, can’t fit a booster seat. But, this is not to harp on Kia. I still think this is a great family car but want you to know this is a 6 passenger car—just ignore the middle seat in the third row.

No items found.

Trunk

Mid size SUVs always disappoint when it comes to the trunk space, but the Kia Telluride does not. There is extra space in the floor that can be separated to throw in gear that you always want handy like blankets, diapers or wipes, or you can open it up to fit something larger. The Uppababy Vista stroller fits well even without the extra floor space. If you’re looking for more trunk space you’re going to either need a minivan or a larger SUV like the Expedition, Suburban or Wagoneer, which is going to give you about twice as much room.

Safety

The 2024 Kia Telluride is an IIHS Top Safety Pick+. It comes with an extensive standard safety with Kia's Drive Wise suite, including Forward Collision-Avoidance, Lane Keeping Assist, Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, and Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go, plus optional features like Surround View Monitor and Blind Spot View Monitor on higher trims.

This is my mom’s car and she often babysits my 3 kids so we have car seats always installed in it. We have two RF in the second row and one FF in the third row. My 5 year old has to climb in through the trunk which he thinks is fun but I would be over it if it was my daily driver. We also had to purchase an Unbuckle Me for him to get out otherwise he couldn’t get out on his own and he is hard to access to assist in the third row. Aside from car seat set up, I love the exterior and it handles well on our dirt roads and in the Michigan winters.

We love this family car! The drive is smooth and quiet, I feel very safe, and we have had no reliability issues. We have driven it for 4 years with one child who was rear facing during that time, the passenger seat remained comfortable for my husband (6ft) and myself (5’3) but was not the most leg room. We now have 2 kids, forward facing and an infant seat and we all for comfortably - I can even fit between the two seats on the bench. I wish it had storage under the center console but other than that is an excellent use of space. For 1-2 kids the space is amazing, but I probably would not recommend for 3 or more.

I love this car so much. We made the classic move of buying a “mom car” in preparation for starting a family. Now we have two kids and it couldn’t be more perfect. I have the EX trim, which comes with captains seats for the second row. They are great for the car seat (Evenflo dual ride shyft) and booster we have, and the trunk has PLENTY of space. I can fit a stroller in the back with the third row up, or lay down one side if I need more room. The ceiling air vents were a big determining factor for me. I also really like the storage space available. There is a decent size center console, a space under the dash screen, and a hidden storage space in the trunk where I keep extra clothes, diapers, a towel, and car cleaning supplies. There have been a few recalls, but nothing major and they only required a short dealership visit to address. The middle seat is VERY small, and while we have for three people back there in a pinch, I wouldn’t recommend it. Otherwise, this is the perfect car for me. I primarily do city driving and work from home so no big commute, though we’ve taken her on road trips and been happy. We also have two big German shepherds, who lay in the back when we need to take them anywhere (the third row floods completely flat. My husband has recently suggested to me that we get a bigger SUV but I’ve pushed back. The telluride is just what we need for this stage of our life.

I have loved my telluride! It’s been great for 2 kids in car seats (captain chairs). The challenge is with the 3rd row but we rarely use it. It’s tight for an adult to ride long distances (like a road trip but it has been done) and access with car seats is tough. I usually just climb over a car seat or through the trunk. I do tend to put the 3rd row down often for more trunk space and don’t love that with the captains chairs like Kelly has talked about so often (I didn’t listen to her advice when I purchased 🤦🏻‍♀️). But as far as reliability, and comfort in the front and second rows it’s great. We have plenty of space.

We love this car for our family of 5. We have captain chairs, which limit our car seat setup options, but it still works for our family. The car is very comfortable (even my tall husband actually fits in it) and drives so good. The trunk space is small, but we are able to fit what we need for soccer practice, outings, etc. When we travel it takes some strategic packing, but nothing that is impossible. Overall, I would highly recommend this car!

This car is amazing for a family of two or three kids. We have captains chairs which allows us to easily move kids in and out and around the car as needed to change up seating or load/unload. The seatbelts are a little tricky to buckle as they are so far down in the seat but not a deal breaker. We love the space and drive of this car, and the vents/sunshades are extra helpful for keeping littles cool (or warm) during the extremes of summer and winter. With all seats in use, the trunk space isn’t massive, but it’s just fine for a stroller and other essentials. We got this car when going from 2 to three kids and couldn’t be happier!

We’ve owned our Kia Telluride for almost 4 years and have really enjoyed it overall. With two kids and captain’s chairs, it has been a great family vehicle. There’s plenty of room, the trunk has a good amount of space with the third row up, and I absolutely love having four cup holders up front. I also really like the body style and overall look of the Telluride. Our biggest issue is the third row. We use it fewer than 10 times a year, so for occasional use it works fine, but with two car seats installed, the third row is basically inaccessible from the inside. Anyone sitting back there has to climb in through the trunk, which isn’t ideal. I also don’t think the third row realistically fits a third adult/older child comfortably. If third row is down we can only fit a diaper bag and very compact stroller meant for overhead bin of an airplane. If we have a third child, I would definitely reconsider the Telluride. With three car seats, we’d need the third row up all the time, and there would be very little trunk space left. For longer road trips, we’ve used a rooftop cargo carrier, which helps, but I don’t think I’d want to rely on that regularly with three kids. Overall, we’ve been very happy with the Telluride for a family of four. It’s comfortable, attractive, roomy, and has been a great vehicle for us. But if you’re considering it for a family of five, I’d really think about how often you’ll need the third row and how much cargo space you’ll want. If we have a third, I’ll likely be looking for something with a more usable third row and significantly more cargo space behind it.

I love the telluride with constrain chairs. I don't love the infotainment center as it is not the easiest to navigate. The car drives smooth and the Kia app is nice would buy another one

I’ve had three Tellurides and they have all been outstanding! They are easy to learn and use, have great power and look great! My kids have grown out of car seats but the flexibility with them has worked well for our family. Latches are great. I appreciate the hidden storage in the back when all three rows are in use.

Love everything about my car. My only complaint is kind of silly, but you can only lock the doors with the key (which is always at the bottom of my bag) or by pressing the black button on the driver or passenger side door. I like a car where you can lock it from any door or even the trunk especially when you have a little kids. It’s annoying to walk back to the front door after you get them out of the car. Other than that, I love everything about the car. It drives great, fits. The kids great, fits car seats great

Love the telluride! We have a 2020, but it wasn’t an option for the review system. I drove it as my primary vehicle for almost 3 years and now my husband does. He’s told me recently that if we don’t have a reason for a truck in the future, he would buy another telluride! GOOD TO KNOW—I would NOT purchase this for a primary vehicle if you have or want to have more than 2 kids. It was great for 2, but so hard with 3. I had 3 under 3.5 years old, and the car seats were tough. I had to transition my 3.5 yr old to front facing to fit him in the third row, and it wasn’t ideal loading him in and out. Had to get him in and buckled before clicking my infant seat into the base in the second row. And we HAD to buy a new vehicle (Kia Carnival, love her), when my baby transitioned to a convertible car seat because I couldn’t access the third row of the telluride anymore without going through the back hatch. If you have older kids and don’t need to worry about everyone in car seats, I think it would be okay. But know the third row doesn’t have much leg room (and I’m 5’3” so I don’t need much).

Very comfortable for 3 kids. Drives nice, good technology, great trunk space. Third row is decently sized! We’ve never had any problems so far at almost 75k miles. We stay up to date on routine Maintence!

I love my telluride! I have 6yr old twins in car seats. We did captains chairs in the second row for their car seats, my kiddos are super comfortable and they love it. The air vents on the ceiling second row are a game changer for them in the summer heat! As for trunk space, it’s pretty spacious but I usually keep the 3rd row down since we do a lot of Costco trips. I love how spacious it is. We recently moved and I put down both the second and third row and was able to fit furniture in it!! My husband and I were impressed. Lastly, I really like the eco feature since gas is so expensive these days, I feel like it makes a full tank last a little longer. Overall, I think it works great for our family. The space and features are very family friendly, while still having a nice sporty exterior look which I love!

This has been a reliable SUV for over 5 years. It has been spacious enough for our family and 3 kids. Now that we have a 4th and our oldest is 12, we are considering a more roomy SUV with more trunk space. However, I am a Kia stan of 10+ years. I think this vehicle has been the perfect combination of affordable, reliable, and comfortable, while it also looks super nice and sporty! I have had little to no issues with it, besides the typical replacing the windshield when it broke and the tires when they wore. It’s comfortable. It’s nice. It’s affordable in my opinion. It’s reliable. It doesn’t have a whole lot of bells and whistles, though you can get a telluride that has more than mine does, but it’s enough for me for the time being.

Honestly, I love my car soo much I’ve convinced 2 of my sisters to get the same one and we all are in agreement that it’s the best mom car!!! We’ve all been able to find reasonably priced, pre owned ones with less than 90k in miles. Our top fav features are -The Ceiling vents!! IYKYK -4 cup holders in easy reach for driver -Heated Seats and steering wheel - How roomy the second row has. Adults can easily fit comfortably on a long road trip. It’s also great for infant carriers or rear facing car seats. The driver/passenger doesn’t have to give up any leg room. -you still have great room in the back when your 3rd row is up. -It’s easy in the eyes!! The ONLY thing us girls or our husbands don’t like is the start/stop feature. It’s kind of wishy washy. But we’re all in the habit of just immediately turning it off when we get in to go anywhere. I’ve had a few mom cars and without a doubt this had been my favorite one. I’d repurchase in a heart beat! If you’re looking for a long term car and you have 1 to 2 kids but might want more this car is awesome!!!

I absolutely LOVE my Telluride. I have two kids under 6 and I drive around family members in the third row frequently. The Telluride is spacious, gorgeous, has high-end tech, handles well and doesn’t have a huge price tag compared to other third-row vehicles. I test drove the Grand Highlander, Sienna, Pilot, Palisade, CX-90, and the Telluride was by far my favorite for the features and the price tag. I have the captain’s chairs in the second seat. It is so easy to install car seats in, has great trunk space, and is wonderful family car.

I wanted to love this car so bad. And in a lot of ways, I did. Just not enough to buy it. First, the safety ratings are wonderful for this car. It’s a top safety + for IIHS and has wonderful reviews of safety features. I think it was almost too tech focused and there were too many features for me to manage. In my eyes, the more tech features I have to manage the more features there are to break and need maintenance. I was hoping it would be a bit more practical, like the 2024 and 2025 Palisade, which still looked pretty futuristic. I also did not love the way it drove. I sat too low and felt every bump as well as heard a lot of road noise. But the safety ratings, how cool it looked was what drew me to it! For the price tag I needed a little bit more practical of a choice.

This car is very spacious and is good for anyone with 2 kids. I feel like this would be a great car for someone with older kids as well as the third row space is very generous and adjustable. My biggest downside is that the trunk space with all 3 seats up is limited and only fits my Zoe twin stroller and not much else. However, if you don’t need the entire third row, it’s very spacious and great for my Costco and Sam’s Club runs so far with the stroller and a portable potty and a cube organizer back there with a change of clothes, wipes, blanket, etc for the kiddos. Love that the rear does have individual air/heat vents so the kiddos don’t get hot back there and everyone has their own cup holder in the middle console along with in the doors and the third row also has their own holders and charging areas as well. Love there is a 12V outlet in the trunk as well. Overall I’m very pleased with the vehicle.

I love this car! I know it might seem silly to have a 3rd-row vehicle with only one toddler, but we hope to grow our family, so we wanted the extra space. My 5'11" husband fits comfortably in the front seat with our forward-facing toddler behind him. He has plenty of legroom, which makes road trips much more comfortable. The cargo space is a little tight with all three rows up, but since we only have one kiddo right now, we keep the 3rd row folded down. The sleek, curved design of this redesign makes me feel like a cool mom, lol. Silly, I know, but I love it! I'm still really happy with our purchase and regularly recommend this car to our friends. OH! And how could I forget the cup holders? There are SO MANY cup holders! I can bring a plethora of drinks and still have plenty of room. Honestly, that's a win in my book!

I absolutely love my 2027 Kia Telluride! I previously leased a 2023 Telluride and the sleek design, extra interior room& added features to the same trim level I previously had made me fall in love with the 2027 version! I can easily fit my 3 kids, 3 and under and my stroller in this car! I can also fit the wonderfold wagon easily with the double seats down in the third row! The power lift gate makes it so much easier when I have my hands full going out with all three littles on my own. The technology is so advanced especially for this price point! I don’t love the faux leather with the cloth mix on the seats but it’s grown on me as I’ve had the car more! Absolutely love this more affordable third row option for everyday life with three little ones!

I love my telluride. So much that when it was totaled in an accident I bought another! It’s the perfect size for my family of 4. I rarely need the third row so I have a big trunk but it’s nice to have the option for more seating if we ever need it. The tech features are thorough and function well. You get all the bells and whistles of a premium vehicle at a lower price. It drives so well and I love the style. The perfect car! NO NOTES!

I love this car as my mom car. Do wish the trunk space was a little bigger, but overall a decent size trunk for mid-size 3 row SUV. Bigger car seats (evenflow revolve 360 gold) will be tight if put behind a tall driver in the drivers seat. Overall very happy with this mom/family car.

We purchased a Kia Telluride two years ago when we were moving from a small town in southern Illinois back to Chicago. Transitioning to city living meant needing something easier to park and navigate, but we also wanted a third row SUV for more passengers. Last month, we welcomed our third child and are now considering a larger vehicle. We love the car and it has been great for us, but as a sports family on the go, when the third row is in use (which now always has to be) the trunk space is SCARCE. So much so, that we purchased a doona x car seat for this new baby to be able to have the stroller option as a large stroller for I’ll not fit in the trunk space now. Overall this car has been wonderful as a family or 4, but now would definitely say it’s too small for a family of 5!

I upgraded to this car when I found out I was pregnant with our second child. I knew we needed more trunk space and wanted enough room for two car seats, a double stroller and the weekly Costco run. This car does all that for me and it’s a nice drive. It’s the right amount of tech for me and has physical buttons instead of all touch screen like some other vehicles in the size category. Overall happy with the car.

I love this car with 2 kids and dogs e do a lot of trips driving 5-6 hours to visit grandparents and friends and it has tons of space. The trunk with 3rd row down can basically fit whatever we need plus what we want to bring as well! The 2nd row is spacious even allowing for a small adult to fit in between car seats.

This has been a great family car for us and our two kids (5 and 6). We currently have both kids in Clek Foonf car seats in the middle captain seats. The third row is not super roomy for adults, but when they were very little we would put one car seat back there with an adult and the other in the captain seat so both were accessible during road trips. Has been a great travel car. The kids like the shades that pull up in the second row and all of the vents. Plenty of usb connectors and the cameras are very good (top view and blind spot). It's a good car for the money.

We love our telluride for our family of 5. It will be tight for road trips but for everyday life, groceries, stroller, etc, it works great even with the third row up. Only downside is our gas mileage is lower than expected— under 20 mpg sometimes. We have the blacked out version and love it!

Haven’t owned the car long enough to have any complaints! The only thing I would say is that, depending on how your car seat base latches (if you’re using the seat belt to secure the base), the car seat’s tilt feature doesn’t allow access to the third row with my rear-facing infant car seat. This is totally dependent on the type of base attachment you have, though! Safety features are amazing, like nothing I’ve ever owned in the past. We do plan on have more kiddos in the future, so I’m sure eventually I may want to look into a full sized SUV or the Kia Carnival.

I absolutely love my 2025 Kia Telluride! It has such a smooth, quiet ride and is incredibly comfortable, even on longer drives. The technology is one of my favorite features—it’s modern, easy to use, and makes driving so much more convenient. Overall, it feels like a luxury SUV without the luxury price tag. I’m very happy with my Telluride and would definitely recommend it!

I love this car. It has most of the bells and whistles you’d expect for a mid-range SUV. I like the safety features. I wish it had the built in baby monitor/camera like some newer cars. The third row is a bit tight, and the trunk is a bit small when the third row is up, but since I only have one child I usually keep the third row down to open up more trunk space.

2 littles and the Telly is the best- it’s comfortable and so stylish! We have captain chairs and our 3rd row is ALWAYS down. If we were to have a 3rd I’d have to figure out car seats and then can hardly fit my uppababy / Zoe stroller. The cup holders sold me to be honest!! I’m on my 2nd telluride and I do love love love it!

I’ve had my 2025 Kia Telluride for about a year now, and overall, I really like it. As a mom of three boys, I find it comfortable, easy to drive, and spacious enough to fit all three kids without a problem. My biggest frustration is the seating configuration. I really wanted a second-row bench seat, but it wasn’t available in the higher trim levels, which was disappointing. The captain’s chairs are nice, but they limit the flexibility of the seating, especially when we have extra passengers. The middle seat in the third row is also so narrow that it’s not really practical for an actual person. Overall, I love the comfort and the way the Telluride drives. I just wish Kia offered more seating options across all trim levels. For a vehicle marketed as a family SUV, having the option of a second-row bench shouldn't mean sacrificing the features you want.

I’ve had my Telluride for a few months now & absolutely love it! It has plenty of room for my family of five, tons of cargo space, and rides so smooth. I love the higher clearance, the X-Line styling, and all the little features that make everyday driving easier. It’s comfortable, roomy, looks great, and has been exactly what I needed after outgrowing my previous vehicle. Definitely happy with my choice!

Love the 2nd and 3 row ceiling air vents. The dashboard is beautiful. Love the physical AC buttons. Even though there are 4 cup holders, they’re small so it doesn’t fit a bigger bottle. Other than that, best car ever for my 3 kids in car seats and the occasional 3rd row rider

This car is so roomy and comfortable. We can easily fit a rotating carseat and numa pipa in the 2nd row (havent tried the 3rd). We can comfortably fit 2 adults in the 3rd row (my mom and dad have both fit for a 3 hr drive!), and can squeeze 3 skinny adults for shorter drives (myself and 2 of my sisters fit for a 30 minute drive but that might be my limit!). We chose this car because it felt like the best value, comfort, powerful engine, and style for this price range.

The telluride is great for 2 kids. We have captains chairs and found the trunk spacious with 3rd row down. We take long trips (8+ hours) to see family several times/year and this vehicle handles snow, ice and long drives very well. We love how it drives. We just had our third and access to the third row is a bit of a pain. Our 5 year olds booster seat only fits in one space in the third row as only one seat has an anchor. She has limited leg room because the infant bucket seat sits in front of her and can’t be moved forward any further. The trunk space has also shrunk substantially and can’t safely fit the uppababy cruz without the seats next to my 5 year old down. Overall I think it’s been great for 2 kids but it’ll be clunky until our baby is in a convertible seat probably

I think the older body style of the Telluride is one of the most boring designs available in mid size SUV's. However, the green color is gorgeous and the black detailing makes it look much nicer. It's had a few quirks (like telling me to watch out for ice when its 100° outside. or getting stuck in first gear after using ethanol gas....). But otherwise, I'm happy with it. Glad it's a lease and I get to try out another car in a few years, though!

This has been a great car for my family of 4 (two kids in car seats). I have the captains chairs. We do keep the 3rd row down which has plenty of space for double stroller, Costco run, etc. However, for road trips where we take our dog or want to have an adult in the back with the kids, we always take my husbands truck since we don't have the bench. It's been a very reliable car, I love how it drives - overall it's been wonderful for our family!

What do I like? - I really like the size of this car and how it drives and the interior brown is a really pretty color and easy to keep clean. - The technology is good but could use wireless carplay and could go without the wireless charging because I always end up using that spot for storage instead. - I got this car as my first mom car when I was still parking on the street in the city and I loved that the mirrors folded in automatically (the palisade at the time didn't). - I have big car seats in the second row captain chairs and they fit well - Uppababy Knox. - the Uppababy full stroller and attachments to make it a double stroller fit well in my trunk with the third row down, not as well with it up What I miss about my volvo: - I like almost everything about it except when I had a volve xc60 before this car, the volvo had buttons on every door to lock/unlock and no cap on the gas - both of those things in the Kia annoy me so bad! I always have my hands full and can't get the back doors unlocked without doing an unknown sequence of hitting the front door buttons and when getting gas with hands full, it was such a luxury to not have that cap. First world problems, but my volvo xc60 was terrible for car seats so I upgraded to this.

I almost bought this car as my mom car. I had a deposit down. I loved the interior, I loved the features. I mean the blind spot cameras on the dash sold me. That and the ceiling vents for second and third row. BUT I spent weeks on the Telluride reddit and just really stressed about the constant serious issues and recalls that kept happening that were pervasive. After months of research on lots of different cars, I'm convinced any car you buy has an equal chance of having an issue. There isn't one brand that is clean. But it just seemed that there were A LOT of issues that were consistent across the Telly population. I wanted to love it- my husband was convinced on it. But I couldn't pull the trigger.

Before you buy a Telluride, know about your local Kia/Hyundai dealership. You will have recalls, and if spending time at the dealership is awful, you will want to trade it in now matter how much you like it. My local dealership was purchased by a large conglomerate and went downhill, leading to long wait times and sub-par service. Okay - the actual vehicle was good! The tech and styling were gorgeous. The continuous screen from the drivers dash to the center screen was super sharp. Also, there isn't a large overhang on the dash, so I felt like I had better visibility. I went from two rear-facing, convertible seats and one big kid, to one booster, one forward facing convertible seat, and a tall preteen while driving my Telluride. The tall preteen was getting pretty uncomfortable in the third row because we had to have the second row pushed back for two tall drivers/front passengers. Ultimately the trade-in was due to the need for 1. more third-row and trunk space, 2. better gas mileage, and 3. less time at the dealership for recalls. In the time I had the vehicle, I was at the dealership for at least 5 recalls. Traded it in for a 2026 Toyota Grand Highlander Hybrid, and couldn't be happier!

I have had the 2027 Kia Telluride X-Pro SX Prestige for about 6 months now. I have a 5 month old and an almost 3 year old. My kids are in the captain's seats - baby is in a Nuna Pipa on the driver side and my toddler is in a Britax Poplar S on the passenger side. I am short, but my husband is very tall and has enough leg room even with the infant seat behind him. We are loving the sun shades, the ceiling vents, the easy fold third row. We only have two children so the captain's seats work for us, but would have gotten a bench if it was available on the higher trims. The space between their seats is a drop zone for shoes, water bottles, toys - and its not exactly easy to get to those things when they fall there. We've had cousins ages 8-13 years old in the third row and they have enough room. We are able to have the third row down most of the time, so trunk space is not an issue. It would be hard to get our mockingbird stroller in there with that row up though and when we've gone on longer road trips with our dog, we still need our carrier up top for more space. Overall, with 2 kids, a 70 lb dog, and tall drivers, so far we are really liking the car. Another kid would probably have us looking for a minivan!

Overall, The 2024 kia telluride is working well for my family of 4 but there are a few minor annoyances. Pros: -Plenty of space - adults can fit in the second or third rows comfortably. With the third row down we fit everything we need for our yearly beach trip. -Drives smooth, feels safe Cons: -Android Auto/Apply CarPlay only works while connected to the UsB cable. My last car connected to it through Bluetooth so I have been missing this. -Adaptive cruise control is finicky - it tends to randomly slow down when nothing is ahead from time to time.

I owned Toyotas before getting the Telluride. We made the switch because we needed more second row leg room for my 6’3 husband and it has been great. We’ve had it for 3.5 years and have never had to take it in for anything other than routine maintenance or recall work. We have captain’s chairs and it does make it a little tricky with two rear facing seats to access the third row but with two kids we haven’t needed the third row much. We took it on a road trip from Austin to New Orleans with the third row in use and the trunk space was still large enough to hold 4 adults and 1 baby (pack n play included) worth of packing without any issues.

Test drove this car after driving a Pilot for years. Really liked the interior. Second row was really roomy and seemed like a great experience. The one we drove had captains chairs and I really liked that. Loved the ceiling vents. All the space went to the second row and trunk seems pretty small! Passed on the exact car we test drove because it had been in an undisclosed accident, but would absolutely consider in the future.

Telluride has been an awesome SUV for our family. Very reliable with super functional cargo space. The 2nd row captains chairs fit our 2 rear facing car seats really well. We live with the 3rd row down to fit our 2 dogs (use the anchors for their tethers). The trunk is super square and easy to pack, the recessed floor in the trunk is one of my favorite things. Tech has been consistently great, I have everything I could want and it's been reliable as well. I love the interior of the car, especially the light headliner and faux wood trim. Cupholders around the center console are fantastic for all the water bottles and coffees, etc. (iykyk). My primary complaint is the front seats - I personally think they're uncomfortable on long stretches and I've never been able to get the driver's seat adjusted to my liking. The steering is pretty floaty, which again is tiring for me on long drives. Also, not an everyday problem for us, but with our car seat set up, it's very difficult to use the 3rd row for passengers. Overall, fantastic family SUV and I would recommend it!

Just here to give credit where credit is due… because this girl has been doing her JOB. 😂❤️ Spacious ✔️ Comfortable ✔️ Looks good ✔️ Perfect for road trips ✔️ Mom life approved ✔️ Fits all the things we somehow always need ✔️ Still obsessed ✔️✔️✔️ She’s basically the family chauffeur, adventure buddy, grocery getter, toddler taxi, and occasional therapy session all in one. 😂 Would I choose my Telluride again? Absolutely. She’s reliable, roomy, stylish, and just the right amount of bougie. ✨

Trunk space is limited when 3rd row is up, and since we have captains chairs I try to keep it up for safety. With 2 cards seats it’s impossible to access 3rd row, so we have to remove infant seat to access. I also didn’t realize we wouldn’t be able to sit in the back with the newborn since both 2nd rows seats have a car seat. Overall it is a super comfortable car, love the rear ceiling air vents, lots of cup holders, and lots of safety features. Overall I would recommend, but if there’s a bench seat option but I would prefer that.

I love all aspects of this car. I have the SX Prestige Hybrid, upgrading from my 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk (that had the v8 hemi). I love that i can still get up and go, but now my boys have so much more room, especially to themselves. The built in sunshade, moonroof, and specifically the rear car vents were a top seller in my book, as well as it being in the top spots for safety the last few years. Add in that I get the same "umph" but almost 600 miles on a tank that is 7 gallons smaller than me jeep?! Amazing. One downfall is the screen. The climate control is hidden behind the steering wheel. You can pop it out or use the buttons below, but I feel like they could have done better with that attribute. Otherwise, I am enjoying driving in this, and cant wait to drive it from the east coast to west coast when we move back next year.

This is a great mid sized SUV for our family of 4, especially for the price! This car has the perfect amount of tech without having to touch a screen at every move (hello physical stick shift and manual buttons under the display). Roomy enough for 2 rear-facing car seats, with storage room to spare. The interior feels luxurious for a car in this price range. I’ve had this vehicle for 2 years and have had zero issues. Very pleased with this vehicle and would recommend for those ready to move onto a 3rd row SUV.

I love my telluride! A great mid dive SUV option for a family of 2-3 kids. We currently have 2 rotating car seats in the second row using captains chairs. It does make the 3rd row harder to get to, especially I would imagine if you had a 3rd car seat back there. 3rd row could have a tad more leg room but 2nd row is very comfortable and roomy! I would buy my car again!

Great space for family. Easily able to fit two rear facing car seats in captains chairs with one forward facing and a booster in the third row. If needing an adult in the backseats I can leave a captains chair open and still fit a compact rear facing car seat in the third row! Car is spacious and can fit my double stroller in the back with the third row up which was a must when purchasing! Ceiling vents for those HOT southern days! A+++

The Telluride is great for 2 kids, or 3 depending on car seat status. As a mom with 1 in a booster and 1 in a rear facing, it works great to have my kids in the front and friends in the back, or I move my older kid in the back sometimes. It did take almost a year for my son to be able to buckle himself in the booster in the 2nd row as the buckles are buried, but that wasn't that big of a deal. Easy to get in and out of 3rd row on booster side and plenty of room on other side for rotating car seat. I do wish more than 1 seat in back had latch and top tether but they have changed this for newer design. I love the AC set up with overhead vents and rear control. Overall, I am happy with my car!

This is a great car for older kids in boosters or forward facing. The 3rd row works great for the weekly carpool of 4 kids. They have added the car seat tilt so if you need to buckle kids in the 3rd row that would help. The trunk space works great for groceries but would be tight to add a stroller too. But when we travel on road trips we do need to lay it down for more trunk space. The hybrid engine is my favorite part! Regularly getting 30+ mpg for a car this size is fantastic. I also loved the technology that Kia had on the base model vs competitors like Toyota. Feels like a great value for the money and love the exterior design.

This is the second Kia mid-size SUV I've owned (previously had a 2007 Kia Sorento as my college car and drove it until I had a car seat!), and they have both performed so well! This Kia Telluride was purchased in the height of COVID/chip-shortages but was not a pre-order or custom order. Thanks to The Car Mom's reviews, I knew it was between the Telluride and the Palisade for our family -- both were lovely and had all of the things we needed. Ultimately, we went with the Telluride since I was so familiar with Kia. We were lucky to get our hands on one and just paid it off this summer -- wahoo!! It has been amazing -- no issues, reliable, third-row seats that easily fold for hauling all the things (Costco hauls, road trips, wagons, and soccer things etc). A few "random" pros that have been said multiple times to me about the car from others: --the headlights have a soft yellow outline around them that makes caravaning/traveling in groups much easier for others to spot where I am in the lineup -- the second row leg room/space is AMAZING! Several adults and kids have commented on how spacious and comfortable it is -- how much it can fit: a coworker was helping me unload the back for an event (think full wagons, pallets of soda, large sandwich board/sidewalk signs etc) and said, "This is a Telluride, isn't it? Gah! We wanted one but could never get our hands on one. It's so great!" It has been perfect for us and is our family's only daily driver since my husband has a take-home work truck. We take it on road trips, to school, work, all over town, and beyond. It has never given us any issues, and we love it and still get compliments on the style, comfort, and space it provides.

I feel like this has not been covered in the media and that @TheCarMom and anyone interested in a Kia Telluride should be very wary. Yes, it looks great on the outside and it’s comfortable on the inside, but the Kia technically is horrible. I would start the car and ALL of the warning systems would go off, telling me to check every safety feature and that it was currently not working. I would take it to the local dealer and they could not replicate the issue and would give it back to me, just for it to happen over and over again. My car spent over 6 months total at the dealership. They replaced several different parts in the car, called in a national Kia engineer who travels around to help fix issues that the local mechanics couldn’t solve, and still every single time they would call me to come pick up my car, either the same day or the next day the issue would happen again. I eventually also lost MPH and turn signals along with the cameras attached to the turn signals and had to fight Kia tooth and nail to get a buy back. It was only after I filed a complaint with the BBB that they finally agreed to buy back my car. Which also was a lengthy process. So while the car looks very cool and nice and modern and almost Range Rover like, I would urge anyone considering to think again. They do not have a good grasp on all the great technology they’ve included in the car and if something breaks they will say they can fix it, but there is a big chance they won’t be able to and you’ll spend most of your time driving a loaner. Eventually, if it’s under warranty, they will give up trying to fix it because they can’t charge you and in their eyes it’s wasted time because they aren’t making money off fixing your lemon. I ended up getting a Toyota Sienna and have been happy with it so far.

Had this car for 5 years now, we officially own it and would definitely buy a telluride again when the time comes. As a family of 4 (one forward facing and one rear facing) we all fit very comfortably! 2 tall drivers both me and my husband can both adjust our seat however we need even with a rear facing car seat behind us (thank you school drop-off and pickup for making us switch that). I am 5’8” and have ridden in the 3rd row many times when family is in town visiting. I can fit, not the best of leg room, but enough. I have put my forward facing kiddo back there too with enough room for him. We have the bench in the 2nd row and love it. Unfortunately because of car seats being installed the buckle/seatbelt are covered so that middle seat is unusable, but that has never been an issue for our family. We just use the 3rd row if needed. I love that there are actually buttons for things and I don’t have to click around on the screen for everything. Love the convenience features in my trim level (shoutout to the ventilated seats. Lifesaver in NC over the summer!) Overall I’m still in love with my car even 5 years later and very thankful that’s what we went with! Thank you Kelly for all your work and car reviews, you helped us narrow down our search and gave me so much confidence going into the dealership!!

Kia knows how to do interior and tech! Biggest challenge is holding myself back from purchasing the new 2027 telluride because there is literally nothing wrong with my paid off 2022!

Comfortable for a family of five daily and for weekend travels. Easy to learn and navigate the menus. Slow to connect Bluetooth and interior color faded easily.

I absolutely love my 2024 Kia Telluride SX X-Line! It has been such a great family vehicle for us, and there are so many little things about it that make everyday driving easier. The technology and infotainment system are probably one of my favorite features. The screen is great, everything is easy to use, and I really appreciate all of the safety features and alerts. The safety alerts are helpful without feeling overly annoying, and I feel like the Telluride does a great job of keeping me aware of what’s happening around me. It also drives really well and handles nicely for a larger SUV. We LOVE the panoramic sunroof. It makes the interior feel so open and bright, especially with our daughter in the back. We have the second-row captain’s chairs, which work really well for our family. We don’t plan on having more than two kids (although we may possibly be an only-child family), so having the captain’s chairs and easy access to the third row is perfect for us. We actually keep the third row folded down quite a bit, which gives us a HUGE amount of cargo space. It’s especially nice for Costco runs and bigger grocery hauls. The Jungle Green color is another favorite. I get compliments on it all the time! It’s such a unique color and makes the Telluride stand out without being too flashy. As a mom, one of the things I really appreciate is how well our daughter’s car seat fits. She is still rear-facing in a Graco Turn2Me, and it fits well in the second row with the captain’s chairs. The rotating feature also works nicely without feeling cramped. Overall, I’ve been incredibly happy with my Telluride. It feels comfortable, safe, spacious, practical, and still really nice to drive. It has checked all the boxes for what we wanted in a family SUV, and I would absolutely recommend it to another family looking for a three-row SUV!

Overall, I absolutely love my 2025 Kia Telluride. It looks great, drives really well, and has been a comfortable vehicle for our family. I love the overall design and the way it handles, and it has plenty of features that make everyday driving enjoyable. My one major complaint is the seatbelt setup in the second-row captain’s chairs. It is incredibly difficult, if not impossible, to properly buckle a booster seat in those seats. Because of this, I had to move my 7-year-old son to the third row, which isn't ideal. The trunk space is good for everyday use, especially for groceries, sports gear, and normal family activities. However, I don't think we would have enough cargo space for a longer road trip, especially with the third row in use. We would likely have to pack very carefully or find additional storage options. Despite those two drawbacks, I really love the Telluride. It’s stylish, drives well, and is a great family vehicle overall. I just wish Kia had designed the second-row seatbelt placement to be more booster-seat friendly and provided a little more cargo space for family road trips.

I bought this car used and had some issues the first couple of years… not sure if it was a lemon and that’s why it was sold but we were able to get the issues fixed under extended warranty and haven’t had any issues since! Really enjoying this car with two kids in car seats.

We have two kids, ages 10 and 8. For our day to day life, this car is excellent. I wanted something big enough to use for regular carpools and road trips, but something easier to drive and park than a full-size suv. I love how the second row seats are on tracks to easily adjust legroom for everyone. Sunshades in the second row and ceiling vents in second and third rows are great for our kids’ comfort for our hot midwestern summers. My husband and I find the front seats comfortable, and I really like that the buttons for my most-used features are physical buttons. My only downsides are that the front cubby space in front of the cupholders is awkwardly spaced - can fit a phone but is shallow and deep and partially covered by the dash, so isn’t an easy grab. Seems like a silly thing but it’s a high-use area and it feels a little clunky design-wise. And the third row is really only functional for two people (we tried to carpool with family on a hiking trip to get to trailheads with 7 of us in the car and that was a MISTAKE, turns out my hips can’t fit in a 6” wide middle seat haha!). There have been even several recalls but they’ve been fixed quickly. We get great gas mileage for the size of the car. Overall would highly recommend to families with two kids.

We rented this car for a little over a week when traveling through Colorado. It was great; it fit both our kids in carseats: one in a convertible car seat, one in a Nuna infant car seat. We were very happy with it, and it encouraged us to look at both the Telluride and Palisade for our next vehicle.

Overall the telluride is a great family car. We like the way it rides, the interior features, and the leg room. My husband and I are both tall. We have one care seat in the back and will be installing a second very soon as we are expecting our second baby. Second row is comfy and functional (we have bucket seats). Third row I haven’t sat in much as we usually have it down for additional space, but the few times I’ve sat back there it’s relatively comfy. It’s been mostly reliable for us. I will say at about 75,000 miles we had to do some work on the suspension. And recently had to pay a hefty amount to replace the air conditioning (this was at about 95,000 miles).

I absolutely love my fully loaded 2022 Kia Telluride. It has been an excellent family vehicle—comfortable, reliable, spacious, and practical without feeling like you are driving a huge SUV. My husband and I are both tall, so interior space was a major priority for us. The Telluride delivers, especially in the second row. We have captain’s chairs, and the legroom is genuinely impressive. We use an Evenflo Revolve 360 Extend rear-facing car seat, and our son can sit behind the driver without the seat touching the driver’s seat. That is a huge win for taller parents and something that made a real difference for our family. The seats are very comfortable, even on longer drives, and the overall cabin feels roomy and well designed. We have not had any problems beyond normal, routine maintenance, which has made ownership easy and stress-free. The technology is fine for a 2022 model, though it is probably the area that feels a little dated compared with newer vehicles. My one real complaint is having to choose a driver profile every time you get in. It delays the Bluetooth connection, which can be mildly annoying when you are trying to get going quickly. Still, that is a small inconvenience compared with everything else this SUV does so well. Overall, I would absolutely recommend the 2022 Kia Telluride—especially to families, tall drivers, or anyone who wants a comfortable, spacious SUV with great second-row room.

It's a great car for our family. We bought when we had two kids and even with a third now, it still fits us well. Passenger space is great, drives well, and sliding 2nd row rails mean you can still access 3rd with a LATCH car seat installed.

We have the 2023 EX and LOVE it. I searched carmax for a long time in order to find one with a bench seat and we have been so happy with it. I currently have 2 children and 1 on the way. One is forward facing and one is still rear facing. I’m planning on moving the oldest child to the 3rd row once the baby is here. I don’t think we’ll have a problem with trunk space as I do not take a stroller with me anyway! The only thing that I wish were a little better was the gas mileage, even on eco mode I get around 22mpg. But absolutely not a dealbreaker as we love the car so much!

I love how my Telluride drives so much! It’s been the perfect family car with my 2 boys (ages 2 and 6). We got this car right before having our second to have some more space. It’s so comfortable to drive, and feels bigger without feeling too big to maneuver. I will never go back to not having ceiling vents again. What a game changer for rear-facing car seats. My biggest pet peeve is controlling the rear climate. The ceiling vents are amazing, but the rear climate you have to turn on basically each time you turn the car on, and you have to first select rear by pressing the button, and then hitting the touch screen to adjust.. this is just not super user-friendly when driving, and kind of annoying nonetheless, but I still love the car! One other annoyance is the Auto on/off when you stop in a drive-thru or something. It drives me insane, and there’s not a way to turn this off. We have captains chairs in the second row, and the 2024 EX model does not have car seat friendly tilt, which would come in handy for how often our 80lb golden retriever rides in the third row. However, he manages to squeeze through the aisle and sit back there comfortably! My husband loves driving the telluride. He always says how smooth it drives and it’s just a great car to travel in for a family of 4 + dog! Gas Mileage is pretty great too.

I absolutely LOVE my telluride! My previous car was a Kia Optima and I loved that too, but wanted a bigger car. We’re talking about switching my husband to an SUV and have been thinking about getting the 2027 telluride because I love them so much! The only downfall of my 2022 is no car seat tilt, and my model doesn’t have a power trunk. The safety tech on the car is amazing! Has actually saved me from rear-ending people a couple times. Whoops lol.
