Car Mom Review

The Exterior

We have a refreshed look for 2025. This is the high Chevy Suburban model so you're going to see some elevated sports luxury-esque design. What's kind of fun about the new Suburban lineup is every trim has something that looks a little bit different, so by trim level you're going to have a different styling to go with the car. Suburban is the biggest full-size SUV in the lineup, about 15 inches longer than the Chevy Tahoe. Most of that space is made up for in the trunk, but she's big.

Engine Options & Towing:

The 2025 Chevrolet Suburban offers three engine options: a standard 5.3L V8 gasoline engine, an available 6.2L V8 gasoline engine, and an available 3.0L inline-six turbodiesel Duramax engine. The 5.3L V8 is for everyday driving, the 6.2L V8 offers more power, and the 3.0L diesel is the most fuel-efficient option, especially for long-distance driving.

The 2025 Chevy Suburban tows up to 8,200 pounds when properly equipped, varying slightly by engine.

First Row

This interior has some really nice upgrades for 2025. Taking a look at our door panel, tons of additional storage and a nice place for cup holders. I'm loving the saddle brown leather interior as well.

They’ve also reconfigured and redesigned their center console. We have a wireless charger, along with USB and USB-C ports. Two cup holders that are nice and deep, but not that big. Driver’s comfort features are fantastic.

Infotainment

We have an 11in dash and a beautiful 17-in curved display. This is the same display we see in the Chevy Traverse and I am a big fan. We're going to have Super Cruise technology available on more trims, which is very exciting. I love the Super Cruise tech. It's Chevy's version of autonomous driving (they probably don't like that I call it that) but it's like the most autonomous you can get in 2025.

Second Row

With the captain’s chairs, you’re going to get lower anchors and tether anchors. We've got some built-in screens to the back of the headrest as well as a great panoramic sunroof and ceiling vents. I also have heated seats on this High Country trim, two HDMI cords, and two USB-C's back here as well. I've got great leg room, I mean it's a big car - like hello!

The Suburban is one of those cars where I actually feel the captain's chairs aisle is worth it. It’s a really nice open area, so you have decent third row access here. I wish this car had come with sun shades, but if you can't get sun shades my recommendation is a super dark window tint and it kind of does the same thing.

The bench is seat option has a 60/40 split with lower anchors and top tethers in every seat. The passenger side seat folds and flips independently for third row access while the driver side and center seat flip together. There is no way to access the third row with a car seat installed if that is a priority for you! If you're looking for a full size SUV with car seat tilt, check out the Ford Expedition, Lincoln Navigator, Jeep Wagoneer / L, or Nissan Armada or Infiniti QX80.

Car Seat Set Up

Car seat options are endless in this spacious SUV. You can fit a bulky rotating car seat, do three across with ease, or fit comfortably as an adult next to a car seat.

Now if you're going to need third row access, utilizing a baseless car seat or leaving the second row passenger side open is the best choice. With a narrow car seat installed in the center bench position you can still flip the passenger seat forward. If you do need regular third row access, captain's chairs may be the more practical option.

Three Across:

With a narrow seat installed in the center you can fit a rotating car seat outboard or a variety of full size car seats. Using a harnessed car seat or booster seat in the center position vs. having an adult sit there is a good choice. There's no center head restraint here so whiplash in the event of a crash is a concern. Double check that the car seat or booster seat doesn't require a head restraint either-- some do! I easily installed the Chicco MyFit here and it still allowed the passenger side seat to fold and flip.

‍

Third Row

As hardware is concerned, in the third row there are no lower anchors, but tether anchors in all seats. I have really nice leg room, so if you're going to have adults or older kids in the third row, the Chevy Suburban is really one of the best options.

We do have three seats and unlike some other of the midsize cars, the middle seat is actually a real seat. However, no middle head restraint which is really disappointing. It’s added in both the Chevy Equinox and the Chevy Traverse, so it feels like it could have been added by now. In a collision, this is going to be really dangerous and it makes the seat unusable.

Car Seat Set Up

The head restraints are not removable in the outboard positions, just like in the second row, and this can sometimes cause a compatibility issue for car seats. Otherwise they're large seats that can fit compact or larger car seats. I am able to fit a variety of seats rear or forward facing even with the second row moved back.

The Chevy Suburban is one of the few three row vehicles that can actually accommodate three across the third row. While this isn't ideal and I'd recommend tackling this alongside a CPST, it is possible with very narrow car seats.

Trunk

When you walk to the trunk, instead of having to worry about kicking your foot or opening it up. Now, the vehicle can sense you're there and the tailgate is just going to open up automatically. This is such a cool feature because I hate kicking, I'm never kicking right, and then I look like a fool in the grocery store parking lot.

The 2025 Chevy Suburban offers massive cargo space: 41.5 cubic feet behind the third row, 93.8 cubic feet with the third row folded, and a grand total of 144.7 cubic feet with both second and third rows down, making it a class leader for hauling families and gear.

‍

Safety

  • Automatic Emergency Braking with forward collision alert
  • Lane Keep Assist
  • Adaptive Cruise Control available with blind zone steering assist
  • HD surround vision 360 degree camera
  • Super Cruise available
  • Rear Cross Traffic Braking
  • Seat Belt Pretensioners only found in front row
  • No middle head restraint in second or third row

The 2025 Chevy Suburban received a 4-Star overall rating from NHTSA.

You can’t beat the amount of space the Suburban can give you. The premier package made this vehicle so good! The leg room, trunk space, driver experience was all great but if there is one thing to consider - if you remotely think it’s too big or too long, don’t go for it.

With 3 kids in car seats and frequent mid length road trips, I absolutely love my suburban. Annoying the third row don’t have Latch, though. I really disliked that with a high back booster still using a 5 pt harness, but now that my oldest is in a bottom booster only it’s fine. We have screens and those are not super user friendly— hoping the tech has gotten better. But overall, I love it and have had no issues. Would buy it again!

I love this car. We have three kids and two out of the three play sports with a ton of gear and big bags to hold this gear. We wanted to make sure that when we travel for tournaments we could fit all three comfortably (meaning two in second row and one in the third row) and not lose any truck space. And the suburban does this for us. We can pack the truck to the brim with our luggage and the sports bags and not lose any seats. I personally love the drive and the new technology. The new body and interior are amazing!

Amazing car and so easy to drive. I rented one for two months and still miss it! Of course its large size was sometimes difficult to find a parking spot in tight places but it’s completely worth it. The cameras really make it the easiest car to drive - with front cameras and cameras above to ensure perfect parking. It feels luxurious and has loads of room.

Having grown up with my mom driving Suburbans and then Escalades, I always knew the benefits of driving a big car. Decide to spontaneously buy a piece of furniture while you’re out shopping? Covered. Friends need a ride home? No problem—we can fit everyone. Does it sometimes feel like I’m driving a bus? Yes. Do I love it? Also yes. Knowing we want a big family, a Suburban was kind of a no-brainer for us. We also don’t have a garage, and our family of five + a dog lives in a 1,500 sq. ft. house, so the trunk of our car is basically an extension of our home. Strollers, sports gear, groceries, you name it—the cargo space is SO valuable to us. I’m especially glad we went with the Suburban as our family has grown. Right now, with three kids, I have one captain’s chair folded up, my oldest two are in the third row, and my infant is behind the driver in the second row. Having that extra open space in the second row has been SO useful. It gives me room for diaper changes and emergency car-potty sessions, and it makes it much easier to climb into the third row to buckle the kids in. For car seats, we currently have a Nuna PIPA RX, Nuna RAVA, and Nuna LUMN, and everything fits comfortably. A few other things I really love: • Apple CarPlay • Physical buttons instead of having to navigate everything through a screen • The surround-view cameras/bird’s-eye view of the car — SUCH a game changer, especially when parking a vehicle this big • Obviously, the cargo space. As a mom, you can never have too much trunk space Is it big? Absolutely. Is parking it sometimes a little ridiculous? Also absolutely. But for our growing family, I’m so glad we bought it. It gives us the space we need now and, hopefully, plenty of room for wherever our family is headed next. Hope this helps another mom who is trying to decide if she really needs the full size SUV! 🤍

This has been my favorite car I have ever owned. I have the a 2025 Duramax LT with many upgrades such as leather seats, the huge screen, power seats in all rows, and black badging and wheels. I love the way it drives and my husband has had me tow large trailers for our business as well which it has done great on! I have two kids and 1 on the way. We have plenty of space and room for large stroller etc.

Overall this vehicle checks all the boxes. She’s big, she’s beautiful, she’s comfy and easy to drive. Great on space. However For me personally it was an adjustment. This is the biggest vehicle I’ve ever driven. I came from driving a Ford Explorer that allowed me to whip around corners which I cannot do in this car. It’s also a low riding vehicle per se so I tend to scrape the wheels more often than I like to admit, especially in drive-through. This car also has TVs in the second row passenger headrest which personally is a major pain because my children are obsessed with watching movies every time we get in the car. hate that. If you have young children, I would avoid the TVs at all cost. Also, my 4 year old can kick the back of the passenger seat including the tv if the passenger seat is not pushed all the way up, which causes issue if I have a passenger driving with me upfront, not ideal. The car was a necessary purchase when having three kids and 2 very large dogs, especially when traveling back-and-forth on vacations when the whole family is together, including the dogs. Love this car. Wouldn’t trade it for anything.

This car has been such a blessing for our young family! The youngest tots are in the captain's chairs and the oldest (who can buckle and unbuckle her carseat on her own) is in the back seat! We make about six long road trips (5+ hours) every year to visit family, and we love how easily we can bring all our gear. We aren't sure if our family is done growing, and having a car that can accommodate another child gives us great peace of mind. While the magic sliding doors of a minivan sound nice, I wouldn't trade our Suburban for anything else for the foreseeable future!

I LOVE the cup holders. The middle console is perfection - I even used it as a changing table when our youngest was a newborn. It drives smoothly and has excellent control on turns, great suspension, etc. It also has ceiling air vents 🎉 I also have to say that I’m pleased with the gas mileage - it’s cheaper for my husband to take on errands than his vehicle. My husband and I are “tall” and have our seats back fairly far - the middle row slides back far enough for kids to climb out 🎉 No lie, there could easily be another foot of length and it would truly be perfect (we have the babyark behind driver for school pickup/dropoff purposes) - when it’s just me, I keep the front passenger seat forward for an easier exit for the kids. Trunkspace is perfect - I can fit the W4 wagon + uppababy vista & extra seat 🎉 Wishlist: latch in the 3rd row and middle third row headrest. Also - additional electric plug adaptor in the front. There’s only one in the back and charging only works when vehicle is running (kind of annoying). I wish you could charge/run plugged in electronics while in park — it would be PERFECT to plug something in and cook next meal/heat cider or hot cocoa during practices, etc. *I forgot to brag about the charging station. It consistently works very well - I’m so pleased with it!

Love the car. Don’t love how the second and third row seat head rests don’t come off. Great trunk space for dogs, strollers. Don’t love how the third row doesn’t have latch

Have 4 kiddos 9 and under and this car has been a dream! So thankful we finally made the move to a suburban. The kids fight the least they ever have in the car because they have so much room to spread out. I love how big the tank is. We can drive 450-500 miles before filling up. The one thing that surprised us was the lack of technology in the z71. No blind spot monitoring on a huge car seems wild?! There’s also no front end camera or cooled seats. Honestly I didn’t even think to ask or check on a 2yo vehicle that’s $60k…. Other than that, we’ve loved it!!

Really impressed with this car. We got the bench seat and have all three in five point harnesses safely across. The trunk is incredible and we have plenty of room for our 70lb lab even when the third row is up!

Diesel engine has been fantastic for us, we get incredible mileage (25ish, can go into mid 30s on highway road trips). Super duper comfortable cabin. My husband is 6 ft and is comfortable in the third row. We have older kids so we aren't as concerned about carseats. We have one in a highback booster seat at this point, but I can speak to the fact that my growing tween who is taller than me has no trouble in the back of this car. We're also a carsickness family and nobody gets sick in this car. Ever.

We bought the high country. For it being the highest trim i honestly expected more features. My Hyundai palisade had more features for less money but we needed a bigger car. For example it doesn’t have super cruise, automatic tailgate. The size of the car and trunk is unbeatable though! It’s a really smooth and quiet ride as well.

I absolutely love the size and room in the second and third row for growing kids! I have a second row bench and love having the extra seats to tow more kids around. I wish there were headrests in all seats, but I’ve got my high back boosters in the middle for now. The 360 camera is awesome for parking/navigating tight spaces since it is a large vehicle.

We bought our 2022 Chevy Suburban when we had two kids, and now that we’re expecting our third, I appreciate it even more. We originally chose it because we travel about five hours to visit my parents, and at the time we had two kids, two dogs (including a large dog), and a LOT of baby gear. Everything fit comfortably, which was exactly what we needed. We have captain’s chairs and love them. Right now, we have one forward-facing and one rear-facing car seat in the second row. When the baby arrives, our oldest will move to the third row, with the infant seat behind the driver and our middle child rear-facing behind the passenger. We’ve never had an issue accessing the third row with car seats installed, and our oldest can climb back there independently. The space between the captain’s chairs is also useful for kid stuff and makes getting to the third row easy. The third row is genuinely usable. We regularly have adults back there, and our parents can sit comfortably when we have extended family with us. We also use it for the dogs and, soon, three kids. The cargo space is probably my favorite feature. With all three rows up, we can still fit a stroller, groceries, and bags (I’m an overpacker!). With the third row folded, there is an enormous amount of space. We’ve even hauled large Facebook Marketplace furniture finds that otherwise would have required a U-Haul. It’s also just a really enjoyable vehicle to drive. It’s smooth, spacious, and I feel very safe and in control behind the wheel. I’ve driven it in the mountains and used four-wheel drive several times, and it handled it easily. The gas mileage isn’t amazing, obviously, but the large tank means I can go a long time between fill-ups. My biggest complaints are the push-button gear selector, which took some getting used to, and wishing the seats had ventilation/cooling and more power adjustment. It doesn’t have every luxury feature, but it has everything our family actually needs.

This has been a fantastic family car. We joked that we bought it for our older labrador retriever so he could have the full back row to himself, but he will be rudely inconvenienced with a third child sitting back there come January. The trunk space is fantastic . The third row space is very comfortable and spacious. Fun fact, between the captain seats we often fit a little portable potty that has done us wonders on road trips. We have everything that we need with the LT trim. I will say I was spoiled going from the Volvo XC 90 with all the technology options to the suburban. There were definitely more features that I liked on the XC 90 but we chose more space over bells and whistles. I have loved this car. Some little things I haven't liked with the car is the lack of grip on the steering wheel and I find the running boards can be slippery when wet. The buckle your seatbelt chime is incredibly annoying on road trips if say you're trying to give your child a snack. There is the option to lower the volume than what the default settings are, but you can't turn off the chime. This also may be the norm to have an automatic shut off with larger cars due to emissions, but I do not love my car will shut off after 15 min if the car is running.

This is my second suburban I’ve owned, so I think it’s safe to say I love it! I love the way it drives, we are “bench” row fans (iykyk), it has a large screen in the center and it has another smaller screen for navigation or whatever you choose, in front of the driver. With four kids, I usually have the single middle row seat down so the third row can be easily accessible for the kids to jump in, and I have the baby car seat directly behind me. When the kids were younger (and when I only had three), we did three car seats across in the middle bench row. That left extra seating in the third row or the third row completely down for extra trunk space for all the mom things and/or sports equipment (including wagons, strollers, canopy tents, fans, etc). The ONLY negative on the suburban is the cup holders for the middle row. The door cup holders are a strange shape so water bottles don’t really fit. They did, however, add two cup holders for the middle seat in the 2025 model which was a nice surprise! It is located behind the front center console so it’s easy for the driver to reach but also the middle passengers. Third row cup holders are great and do have the usb-C chargers accessible for third row. Overall, it’s a great mom car. I will continue to drive the suburban for years to come!

Large family hauler with plenty of room to grow - whether you have 2 kids or 5 kids. I love the technology and how everything is displayed on the dash. It’s easily accessible for a busy mom of 3 young boys. We bought the car when we had to large dogs, so we knew we would be a busy family traveling and need a full size vehicle. I love being able to gas it and drive fast with no lag (when needed); Chevy is very good about releasing updates to the system that help improve the tech as well. I feel very safe with my entire family in the car if an accident were to ever happen.

This car is amazing and versatile. My main complaint would be lack of latch in the 3rd row - if you have booster aged kids who may need to ride back there it’s something to consider heavily when thinking about your purchase.

Suburban is great for large families. Not too many bells and whistles, but reliable and the gas mileage isn’t as bad as some other smaller SUVs. So much room in trunk. Smooth riding. Car seats fit well! Wish it had lower anchors in the back, but I still made it work. Captains chairs give easy access.

Torn between a truck and an suv the suburban is perfect. We traded in a Jeep Grand Cherokee because we didn't have the space for car seats plus a tall driver and the stroller was taking up all the trunk space. I love the drive of the suburban so much more than I was expecting, smooth and great pickup! We drive on the beach and in snow in New England, we haul a boat and the performance is amazing. I originally wanted a tahoe but I love all the extra truck space!

I love my Suburban! She’s a beast but drives like a dream. It’s beautiful on the outside and gorgeous interior and top notch technology and screen display. It has ample room in the middle seat with two captain chairs and full bench in the 3rd row. We have older kids so not using car seats anymore but occasionally will use backless boosters. I love the size and space in the trunk. It’s helpful for road trips we take often to fill with luggage or can put down back row to load bikes as well.

I LOVE this car for my large family. I bought the RST diesel and get about 34 miles per gallon on the highway. The shoulder room in the third room for my older kids (15,13,11) is waaaay better than in the Honda odyssey. We have the bench seat (obvi!). We for a long time has two forward facing car seats in the second row. The outboard seat folds down and flips up so older kids can get in the back and they don’t need to step on anything (🙌🏻). We recently put the forward facing 5 year old in his harness buckle diono in the third row and that’s also been great for us. I drove an odyssey for 10 years and she worked so well with my younger babies but now having a mix of ages this suburban understands the job and gets it done. Love her! And the color I get compliments on every week. There is so much talk about hybrids but the mileage on this diesel is incredible.

Got a zillion kids? This is the one. She is the moment. Stunning. I sound super cool when I start it up. Drives like a dream. Is it huge? Yes. But is it also somehow easy to drive? Also yes. Backup camera for the win and you've got this. Big booty trunk space. Cupholders for days. Haul some, haul all. Got a horse and a trailer? Me too and she can tow it no problemo. Take road trips? She can bring everything you need. I will be keeping her until 200k and then getting another one

So roomy all around. This is the first vehicle I’ve had that I can’t find a single thing I don’t still love about it after 2 years! Will definitely be in a Suburban/Tahoe for the next 15-20 years!

I have had this car for 5+ years and I love it! At this point, I can’t see myself ever driving anything smaller than this as we frequently take long road trips and need a lot of trunk space. It is very comfortable and spacious. The interior is good looking and easy to clean. The safety tech is helpful without being annoying or too much (see my other review on our 2024 Lexus GX). The infotainment system is a huge miss but this hasn’t been a huge deal for us because we did not want it originally (it came with the package) and probably wouldn’t use it much even if it were more user friendly. When we do let the kids watch a movie on a roadtrip we use a $10 Amazon holder and an iPad so that all the kids can hear it without having to connect 4 sets of Bluetooth headphones and mess with an HDMI cord. I hope newer models improve this system. The only times I believe I have had to take the car in for service (outside of routine oil changes, new tires, etc) was for an electrical issue that caused the power lift gate to stop working in the 1st year of owning the car. And then just this past week on an 8 hr road trip to the beach I got two service lights on- one to service the tire monitoring system and the other to service the driver assist system. They called yesterday to say that is will be around $800 to fix both and they have had my car for 2 days now (hence why I couldn’t take good, recent photos) which is frustrating. But I still think I have been overall happy with the reliability and will probably repurchase the suburban when the new model comes out in 2028/2029.

2023 Chevy Suburban Review from a Mom of 3 As a mom of three with all three kids in car seats, I’ve really loved my 2023 Chevy Suburban. I have the bench seat in the 2nd row, and while it works, I honestly wish I had gone with captain’s chairs. It would make getting to the 3rd row and buckling kids in so much easier. That being said, the 3rd row is one of my favorite things about this SUV. It’s surprisingly spacious and comfortable compared to other large SUVs I’ve been in, which is a huge plus with kids. The interior is nice and comfortable, although I wouldn’t consider it a luxury interior. It drives incredibly smooth, and I absolutely love the feeling of being in such a big vehicle. I expected it to be difficult to maneuver, but it’s actually surprisingly easy to park for its size. Overall, it’s been a great family vehicle. If you have multiple kids in car seats and want something big, comfortable, smooth, and easy to drive, I’d definitely recommend the Suburban!

Overall I love the suburban, we bought this car when we had 3 kids and the 4th car seat was super easy to add when we expanded our family. I do wish there were anchors in the 3rd row though. Right after purchasing we noticed the rear wheels seemed to lock up while driving. It ended up being the valve body, which was a known issue and under warranty. From experience with GM there will almost always be issues. it's not if, its when something will go wrong. Highly recommend an extended warranty and you will be golden!

We recently purchased this car, upgrading from a 2014 Audi Q5. The upgrade in space is actually insane! This car is a powerhouse and I no longer worry about being able to carry everything we need. It fits literally everything you can imagine! My daughter’s Nuna Revv looks small in the car with how spacious the second row is. My favorite part of the vehicle how large it is, making me feel comfortable about our safety. I grew up in a family that had Suburbans and they were dependable and always felt very safe. I am obsessed and thrilled with our decision for our growing family!

Rented for a ski trip weekend, no kids. I loved the drive and space of this vehicle. Interior is nice, the dash could use a little refresh. Very spacious second row. I felt comfortable driving this large of a vehicle and it handled great in the snow.

For 4young kids, all in car seats, the suburban has been great. Unfortunately, I believe we got a lemon and had a lot of issues with the engine and oil. But once those were figured out, it drives great, and has plenty of space for all the activities. Love having the big trunk and never worrying about if we have enough space to transport anything. We have the captain seats and those have worked well for the older kids to be able to walk back and buckle themselves up. We also have two dogs and we’re able to easily transport them anywhere. On some of the very hot days in the summer, the entertainment system glitches but recovers. We definitely did not buy it to save money on gas. Rotating car seats in the captain chairs have also been very helpful. On the occasions we have had to put many adults in the car, with the car seats removed, it has worked out great and everyone is very comfortable.

Absolutely love the trunk space, plenty of room for a Wonderfold wagon, large Sam’s haul, sports stuff, animal feed and more! We are a family of five so the biggest suv with the diesel engine is amazing for cargo, people and fuel mileage!

She's a Chevy Suburban, a land yacht supreme, with three rows of seating and a gas bill obscene. She carries the groceries, the strollers, the snacks, four kids in carseats, and several backpacks. She drinks gasoline on her 70-mile commute, kids no longer in tow, which makes the point moot. At times you may miss your snazzy Traverse; remind yourself, however, it could be much worse. Remember the reason you wanted the max: to keep us all safer, to help you relax. More space for your family, more steel as a barrier, no longer the need for your Thule rooftop carrier. We're missing a headrest, a couple more latches - listen to us, Chevy, and you may meet your matches. Care creates contentment, we're grateful to have her. She contains all our chaos and helps us to gather.

We rented this car while visiting family with my husband and two young kids. My husband loved this car and went home wanting to buy one. It was very comfortable, surprisingly good on gas, and had more room than we needed for our family and copious amounts of luggage. I found the car to be comfortable and drove nicely but was just way bigger than what I would want to drive around regularly.

We had our Suburban for 5 years. It had tons of space, we grew from one to three children with no issues on space. We’d take frequent 5hr drives and easily fit all of our stuff. It was a challenge for my 5 year old to open the doors since they were tall and heavy. The tech was fine. The driver tech worked well with no issues. We got the rear seat screens but never used them. Figuring out how to plug in another device or use the paid internet was too much work. It also took up space with rear facing car seats. iPads worked just as well. There weren’t many extra tech features, we had the Z71 and it felt very basic compared to other cars. We sold it due to reliability issues. We experienced many issues after 60k miles that were costing thousands to repair and weren’t common issues. I wondered if the COVID supply chain issues were impacting it. We decided to cut our loses and not risk a full engine replacement and sold it.

My 2025 suburban has been a great vehicle for driving 3 kids ages 7, 5, and 3! Living in northern MN I feel safe driving on winter road conditions yet still am able to haul almost anything needed throughout my kids activities! My kids have PLENTY of room in the second and third row! It’s a large vehicle but I don’t feel like I’m driving a bus!!

Being a travelling family with 5 kids, we knew we needed something to fit us comfortably. The suburban has not disappointed. I love that we have 2 benches so we still have an open seat to take grandma with. The drive is smooth. The leg room is phenomenal and everyone is happier than ever.

The pros- great car for a large family. The trunk space is like no other. Can fit a double stroller along with a Costco haul. You have great visibility being up so high. The only con I have is sometimes the technology can be glitchy where the radio volume all of a sudden doesn’t work until restarting the vehicle.

I had this car for about 5.5 years. It was a great car for the first five years and then started having multiple issues. It was a COVID build and was missing some chip features that had to be installed later (park assist, etc.). We started having transmission issues after about 4.5 years, and they got progressively worse leading us to sell the car. I believe this was an issue with Chevrolet Tahoes and Suburbans of this year model. Another weird thing: the inside sun shades scratched holes in the ceiling liner above the driver's window due to poor design. The rear A.C. sometimes decided not to cool and the second row AC vents closed when pointed towards the passenger's face and blew perfectly when faced towards the back of the first-row passengers' heads (like they were installed backwards). Also, the running boards weren't deep enough, were rounded, and were slick, causing kids to slip out of the car multiple times.

I loved the size as far as trunk space and space for passengers. The interior felt a little cheap and I didn’t love the tech-It didn’t feel like it made my experience driving easier. I was also extremely nervous with the location of the shifter and the other buttons. I like more separation from throwing a car in park and turning on the ac/music.

PROS: I love the look of the Z71, and it drives very well for a large vehicle. The cameras are very clear, and it has the option to show passengers in the back on the large display screen. It also has an automatic parking feature, but I haven't used it. As with all Suburbans, storage in the trunk is very large and the installed mats cover the backs of the third row so they are protected when folded down. The installed floor mats fit beautifully and much better than the WeatherTech mats I had in my 2022 Suburban. It also has Adaptive Cruise Control which makes road trips much easier. CONS: The sliding center console top has come loose from putting forward pressure on it while adjusting in my seat. (Chevrolet is aware of the issue, and there is an easy fix that the dealership can perform.) One of the second-row seats does not fold with the wall button, so I will be getting that fixed while it is still under warranty. The entertainment screens for the second row only allow for YouTube and a few others which limits screen usage if you don't have a USB drive. Overall, I've been VERY happy with the Suburban!

This vehicle is gorgeous and fun to drive and ride in. The seats are huge and car seat setup is good. The issue is accessing the third row with 3 kids in car seats in the middle row and two kids in car seats in the 3rd row. As much as I love the look and space, I’d take my Odyssey for a daily driver any day.

Love love love this big vehicle. There is room for all the passengers. The biggest problem in this vehicle is the room! The downfall is the price tag, but hey if that's not an issue a suburban is the way to go! This vehicle is older now so technology is more flashy now. However it still can do everything you need to get you from point a to z. Even with all the seats up there is still so much truck space.

We have three young boys, and frequently help carpool others. We spend hours in the car each day with after school activities. We hit a point where we really needed more space. Knowing the boys and their gear would only keep growing, it made sense to go ahead and move into a car that will work for us for a long time. We looked at all different ages of vehicles, from used to new. Unfortunately for a buyer- suburbans hold their value incredibly well. We found an end of year discounted DIESEL model. I initially did not want to go look at it because it was a diesel… But the dealership was offering a really great price for it. One test drive and I was sold. The interior cabin is beautiful yet sturdy. It has an incredible amount of space. Second row seating more than comfortable for adults. Third row plenty of space too. Trunk large enough for our two cart Costco runs. Quiet cabin, gorgeous sun roof. But quite possibly my favorite feature? That Diesel engine. I had no idea that diesel engines get better miles to the gallon than a typical gas engine. The suburban already has a hefty 28 gallon tank. We do city driving in Dallas, and average around 28-30 miles to the gallon. One tank can last me, driving daily and frequently across town, nearly 3 weeks. We drove from Dallas to Orlando and only needed to fill up 3 times. Diesel may be more expensive, looking as the price per gallon at the gas station, but we are spending just over one half the amount on gas monthly driving the suburban than we did driving an Acura MDX. Room for three growing boys, great space for family road trips, new diesel engine that has extended warranty compared to regular engines, we love this car and are so glad for our “mobile workspace” that we will enjoy for years to come!

I have 3 kids 3 and under, all in car seats and love the Suburban! I have bucket seats, so I keep 2 car seats in the 3rd row for my twins (forward facing) and my baby in a bucket seat. We keep the extra bucket seat folded down for easy access to the 3rd row. We have no complaints on the amount of space and love the amount of trunk space! Would definitely recommend this car!

We were considering both a Suburban and an Expedition when we were pregnant with our twins babies number 4 and 5. We were about to have 5 kids in car seats. After only a short time in the Expedition we took a look at the Suburban and although I knew the Ford would work better for what we needed my husband grew up in a Chevy family and still wanted to give the suburban a chance. The back seat was so much tighter than the Expedition. We wanted to have the option to put all 3 of our big kids in the 3rd row on road trips so I could sit between the babies. It’s a tight fit even with Graco3LX car seats but they do fit in the Expedition! Not possible in the Suburban. Plus getting into the 3rd row would’ve been a pain without the car seat tilt. We bought the Expedition and have never regretted it. Maybe when our kids are bigger and we aren’t as reliant on car seat compatibility we’ll give the Suburban another shot. But for now we’re loving our Expedition! The exterior on the Suburban I do prefer though!

Love my Suburban! Only complaint is that I wish the second row headrests were removable and that the 3rd row had lower latch anchors.

Our 2023 Z71 Suburban (5.3L V8 engine) has been reliable, comfortable, and very functional for our family of 6 since day one. We have captains chairs that have made getting to the 3rd row very easy. I am 5’1” tall and have never had an issue driving or parking. The cameras that are standard in this model are amazing and I’d definitely hit things if those were not included. I find this Suburban to have a very comfortable ride & great maneuverability despite the extended wheel base. It also gets up & goes on highways and inclines very well for its size. We take yearly 13+ hour road trips in it—it has plenty of cargo space, comfortable interior for lots of people including my 6’3” husband and zero mechanical or software issues on those long trips. I feel very safe on the road in this car. I’d recommend it to other large families in a heartbeat. P.S. We did make the right choice getting the 5.3 liter engine as the 6.8 liter engines have had lots of issues & recalls! Dodged a bullet with that!

Absolutely love my Suburban! We were rear ended while stopped at a red light by someone going at least 50 mph, and thankfully, we all walked away uninjured. I’ve never felt safer in a vehicle. I also love how spacious it is, especially the huge trunk with plenty of room for everything our family needs.

The suburban is an incredible car. I could win the lottery and would still want to drive my car. It’s extremely spacious throughout the whole car. I have 2 captain seats and it’s worked out great for my kids who are 4 and 6 currently. When traveling, our large yellow lab loves to lay in between the captain seats aisle. We often have family ride with us in the 3rd row and they never complain of leg room. My suburban has leather and a sunroof. The sunroof makes a huge difference in my opinion. I love having it open. It gives such a spacious feel. There are plenty go cup holders. My only complaint on the suburban is the technology is basic. Chevy’s technology isn’t over the top in my opinion. The trunk space is absolutely great. I never have to put the 3rd row down. Costco runs fit great even with our wagon. Highly recommend the suburban as a XL family car!

I have the 5.3l v8 z71 trim with the captains chairs. I really love it I bought it in 2024 with only 30,000 miles on it. The family before only used it for sports and road trips. I have so much space in the back for my dog crate and bob stroller plus a Costco run. It’s a fan favorite for field trips. I love my captains chairs just wish they would move front and back to allow more leg room in the third row. Also wish the third row had a middle headrest. Gave the exterior a lower rating because it is dated a bit when compared to the current body style. But overall I love it and I secretly don’t want the newer version, yet.

I love love my suburban. Tows really well, runs great in 4 wheel drive (large snow storms), fits so much stuff. A car seat tilt would be icing on the cake.

Buy the suburban! This is a 2022 Suburban Premier and I am in love with it! After driving a Traverse for several years we were looking to go bigger with 3 growing boys! I had been looking at Expeditions and somewhat considered a Navigator. This was a pretty impulsive/spontaneous purchase but we immediately were so happy! The trunk space is to die for, the automatic fold down seats from the rear are so helpful, we love the interior, and the technology is great! The space for our boys (12, 5, and 3) is perfect and everyone is comfortable! The center console moves back which provides another area while at the same time moving the back console cup holders closer to rear passengers. My husband loves driving it as well because of the engine 😜 I wish I would have considered the suburban sooner!

Love this car. It’s sporty looking, has tons of room and we are able to pickup friends or drive to the airport with my parents in tow + a trunk full of luggage. I wanted a giant people mover and I am NOT a minivan mom. We looked at a suburban, Yukon xl and briefly at the expedition max, navigator and Escalade. This had everything I wanted plus leather mats and 4k miles being driven by a dealership owner so the deal felt like a bonus. Previously I’ve driven 2 Lexus GX’s and wanted more room and a little more tech. When the kids are grown I anticipate downsizing to a luxury midsize suv like an X5 or X7. I love a big boxy vehicle. The suburban felt huge to drive at first but I quickly got used to it and love never second guessing my space capabilities. Also team captains chairs all day everyday. I wanted to keep the third row up with max trunk space. Might be niche with only having two kids but I love a big car.
