2023 Ford Expedition / Max

Decided not to buy. We felt the exterior was dated and the technology was clumsy ( I wasn't excited for the I-Pad set up). The interior felt plastic-like for the price tag. We opted to look for something with more storage space than this one (non-max version) while keeping to the shorter wheelbase.

Bought a 2025 Expedition, Active with “leather” bucket seats. Absolutely love this car, biggest things for me are the split tailgate and the sliding center console (place for my purse). Only downside is in the Active level the “leather” seats are more plastic-y, so when it’s hot outside it’s VERY sweaty.

I love my Expedition! We went with captain seats due to only planning to have two children. If we were to have more, the bench would be a non-negotiable. This car has room for all of us to be comfortable and gives me the sporty mom car style I was going for. We almost always have the third row down for storage, but love how easy it is to lift up when we have friends riding with us!

I want to keep this car forever!! I love cars, I think getting a new (to me) car is so fun, but I don’t ever want to get rid of my expedition. We recently moved my oldest (3 years old) to the third row and have my two younger ones in the middle road. They are able to climb in on their own and move the seats around. Our Grayco slim fits are a great fit with plenty of space in the middle seat for a passenger. I love that this vehicle feels like a truck, I feel safe and high up, but it’s still a stylish Mom car. I have had zero issues in the past three years. I drove jeeps (three grand Cherokee) prior to this, and the expedition wins in all categories. I’m so happy with my vehicle and I highly recommend it to anyone with multiple children with or without car seats. Passengers love the feel of the car. Great for road trip as we’ve driven it hundreds of miles for vacation.

I owned the 2024 expedition max xlt trim level for 18 months before trading it in. It was overall I good car with plenty of room for my 3 kids. However it ultimately was way more car than I needed. I ultimately downsized to a Chevy traverse. The few things I didn’t like about the expedition were, maneuverability, the ride of the car and the infotainment. I felt like I was driving a bus and it made getting in to tight spots at doctor appointments, ball games etc difficult. The ride was rough, in my opinion. You could feel every bump on the road, way more than you could in my husband truck. The infotainment was glitchy as well. There were times it wouldn’t connect to my phone at all, the charge pad was in a very odd spot and very rarely worked. At the time I owned it, it didn’t have the feature to save a phone as a primary and would instead connect to whichever phone was last used. While those are minor, when you’re spending time taking kids to and from school or sports you want the minor things to work well. From a space perspective, getting the max was overkill for me and my 3 kids. Looking back, I probably would’ve been better off with the standard expedition.

The redesigned ford expedition is a dream car for moms. There are a few things I don’t like (the ledge in the back when the third row is down being the highest) but overall, this car has handled all I’ve thrown at it—Car seats in every seat in the second and third rows, children of all ages in all seats beautifully, a car full of children plus a wagon. There has literally not been a situation that this car has not handled. I love the versatility of the vehicle as well as the user friendly driving. It took me a minute to get used to the steering wheel and the big screen but now I can’t live without them!
