2021 Mazda Cx-9

I liked this car but didn't love it. Pros: performance is awesome! It handles like a small car and the turbo really makes it zippy on the road. It has window shades on the middle row, which was used most of the time for my kids. The price was good and you get a lot of bang for your buck. Cons: for me it wasn't the best option with kids. No ceiling vents, it was hard for the a/c to keep up with the Texas summers. The car was tight with two kids and it became difficult for them to climb in and out with school backpacks and gear on the floorboards. The technology was fine, it took awhile for me to get used to not having a touch screen and control everything by the knob near the gear shift. Overall, it was a fine car but not the best for our family.

Love this car! Drives great, plenty of room with two kids plus a third row if needed. I wish it had a touch screen display but I love everything else

We love the CX-9!! The second room can be tight, but with 2 kids it’s great! Love the car play, love the trunk with the third row down. It’s been a great car!

We got our car in 2020- it is the grand touring carbon edition with gray blue exterior and red leather interior. We leased to start and it was the highest trim since the dealer drove it as a demo car. It feels very luxurious and has all of the bells and whistles like Bose speakers, assistive driving, front and back cameras, heated and ventilated seats. It is quiet and handles very nicely. It fits 2 graco extend2fit car seats backwards and forward facing (we have the captain’s chairs) we have driven with someone in the third row but it is definitely a tighter fit back there. With the 3 row down its a good amount of trunk space. I don’t anticipate we will easily fit 3 kiddos in there but my oldest will be in a booster soon so it is likely possible to move him to the third row. Overall we are very happy and we were very loyal to Mazda cars for looks, performance and safety until we started needing bigger family cars. We liked it so much we bought out the lease.

This car worked great for my family for the 2 years I had it. Unfortunately my Mazda was totaled while parked by a drunk driver. When I owned this car I had a 8-10 yr old, 1-3 year old then a newborn a year later. I loved how Mazda drives. It’s a sporty car and gave me great mileage for the size. Loved the color I had: White exterior with black interior so it was very sleek and elegant. My con would be there was no ceiling vents and when I had people in the 3rd row, they would always complain that they were hot. Other than that, I loved this car and really thought about getting a Mazda again after being totaled by we opted for the Nissan Pathfinder.

As a mom of two under two I’ve been very pleased with my Mazda Cx-9. I can fit 3 across my bench when needed. Love that the 3rd row is two full seats. I have 93,000 miles and have had no issues, routine maintenance only. For a three row SUV it gets pretty good gas mileage too.

I LOVE this car. As a family of 5, we've outgrown this car for road trips. But for zipping around town, I love it. It doesn't feel too large and it is so fun to drive. I can do 3 across slim car seats on the bench 2nd row. Very reliable vehicle and I hope to drive it forever.

We have owned this car for quite some time and it has hands down been the most reliable car. We have nothing but good things to say about it. The only work we have had done to it is wear and tear items! It’s been an amazing family hauler and we only traded it in after using it with four kids for a year, it was tight but it worked. For three kids or less, it’s perfect. I loved the size. We were able to fit three across and have the entire trunk for our stuff but even with the third row up the trunk is decent for a midsize suv. On reliability alone I would recommend this car and will be reconsidering it as my kids get older and are driving on their own.
