Features We Love
  • Best-In-Class Car Seat Hardware: Every seat in the second and third rows has its own lower anchors and tether anchor (captains chairs) — including both third-row seats. That’s a huge win for safety and ease of installation.
  • Smart Comfort Features: Heated seats and a heated steering wheel adjust automatically based on cabin temperature — so you get comfort when you need it, without fiddling.
  • Clear Rearview Camera: Car seats often block rear visibility  but the TX’s rear camera gives a clean, unobstructed view. A small tech detail that makes a big difference in daily life.
Car Mom Review

The Exterior

Where the Lexus TX Fits in the Lineup

The Lexus TX was released in 2023 and honestly… it was overdue. Lexus had the RX and RX L, plus the GX and LX, but nothing that truly competed in the three-row midsize SUV space. The TX finally fills that gap.

It shares a platform with the Toyota Grand Highlander, which means the two have a lot in common — but there are also some big differences, especially when it comes to interior design and car seat usability.

The TX comes in gas and hybrid options.

Exterior Thoughts: Not a Deal Breaker

Let’s start with the exterior and I’ll be honest.

The front grille isn’t my favorite. It feels a little underwhelming in some spots and overwhelming in others. That said, this is not a reason to skip the TX. Everything that really matters for families happens on the inside, and that’s where this vehicle shines.

From the side profile, the TX looks long, sleek, and fresh. I love the chrome detailing across the back — it visually elongates the vehicle and gives it a more premium feel. The multi-spoke alloy wheels (20s standard, 22s on this trim) look sharp, and Lexus opted for the spelled-out Lexus name across the tailgate instead of a traditional logo, which is a nice modern touch.

First Row

Interior & Tech: Lexus Finally Caught Up

Lexus tech has felt outdated for years and I can confidently say that is no longer the case.

Inside the TX you’ll find:

  • A heads-up display
  • Fully digital gauge cluster
  • Large, responsive infotainment screen
  • Apple CarPlay & Android Auto
  • Rearview camera mirror (amazing with car seats blocking visibility)

One standout feature I loved: the heated seats and heated steering wheel automatically adjust based on cabin temperature. If the car doesn’t need them on, they won’t turn on... which actually makes a lot of sense.

Driver-assist features are strong too. The car will alert you if it detects that you’ve looked away from the road too long, which felt helpful rather than annoying.

Storage, Cup Holders & Everyday Use

Up front, storage is thoughtfully done:

  • Wireless charger
  • Three USB-C ports
  • Extra storage under the charger
  • Deep center console (yes, it fits a Stanley)

The cup holders are… interesting. They’re large and square, and technically removable which felt unnecessary and a little clunky. I appreciate innovation, but this one didn’t fully land for me.

Visibility is excellent throughout the cabin, and the panoramic sunroof plus large third-row windows make the interior feel light and open.

‍

Second Row

The TX comes with either a bench seat or captain’s chairs. I tested the captain’s chairs setup.

Here’s the honest truth:
Second-row legroom is tight if you’re a taller driver using rear-facing car seats.

With bulkier rear-facing seats installed, I couldn’t get the driver’s seat far enough back to be truly comfortable. This doesn’t make the TX a bad vehicle but it does mean it won’t work for every family.

If you’re tall and running multiple rear-facing seats, I strongly recommend testing more compact seats before committing. At the end of this review I leave some of my carseat recs for this car.

That said, third-row access with captain’s chairs is excellent, especially when using rotating car seats. The aisle is wide, and my older child had no trouble getting back there.

Car Seat Hardware: Best in Class

This deserves its own section because it matters.

Every rear seat in the Lexus TX — all four — has:

  • Its own lower anchors
  • Its own tether anchor

That is best-in-class and exactly what families need. Huge win for Lexus here.

‍

Third Row

The third row is genuinely comfortable for kids and adults.

Highlights:

  • Two real seats (no middle seat buckle nightmare)
  • USB-C ports on both sides
  • Cup holders
  • Ceiling vents
  • Excellent legroom even with the second row pushed back

My four-year-old had plenty of space and was not braced against the seat in front of him at all.

One critique: the power-recline third-row seats. For young kids, this can actually be a safety issue, because reclining the seat can loosen a car seat installation. It’s something parents should be aware of, especially if kids have access to the controls.

Trunk

For a midsize SUV, the cargo space is outstanding.

The trunk is large, wide, and practical. The third row power-folds completely flat, and the load floor is great for strollers, groceries, sports gear — you name it.

No fancy under-floor storage, but the usable space more than makes up for it.

‍

Safety

The 2025 Lexus TX features the standard Lexus Safety System+ 3.0, offering advanced protection through a Pre-Collision System with pedestrian/cyclist detection, intersection support, and all-speed dynamic radar cruise control. Key highlights include Digital Latch with Safe Exit Assist, Traffic Jam Assist, and optional Advanced Par

Lexus

We bought this car in early 2026, to replace our Subaru Ascent which had begun to feel very cramped with two kids in car seats and two dogs, and was effectively a 2 row SUV for us. Comparatively, the TX is extremely spacious inside, but does not drive or park like a boat. We have a normal single car garage, a school parking lot with narrow spaces and tight aisles, and live in a place where we occasionally need to drive this car into the city. It fits our family incredibly well, the second row captains can slide forward with a FF car seat to allow an adult into the third row, and the third row is very comfortable for an actual adult. By the time we have a third kid my oldest will be able to get back there into a booster by walking across the captain chair through the center aisle. With all seats up it will fits our XL Veer wagon in the trunk. My only negative note is that the trunk has no below deck storage (instead this space is a tire kit.) and, if our budget allowed the hybrid was a very nice drive and actually great on gas! For 2-3 kid and those who do not want to drive an enormous hard to park SUV this car is excellent, no notes.

Loving our TX after having it for one year! It feels luxury on the inside and everything has worked as expected! Lexus customer service is always great; they truly care for their customers! We use a nuna pipa aire RX car set in the second row and it fits great with no issues. Overall, no complaints!

Just purchased a few months ago and have about 1,000 miles on my 2026 Lexus TX 550. I absolutely love this vehicle! I upgraded from a 2013 Lexus RX (which I loved!) because I wanted the flexibility to have a 3rd row for carpool and when grandparents visit. With only 2 kids, I chose the bench option in the 2nd row over the captains chairs. There is plenty of space in the 2nd row and a huge trunk when the 3rd row is folded down. I keep the 3rd row folded down for everyday driving. My kids love the ceiling vents, sun shades, and climate controls. The 3rd row has plenty of room for 2 adults and is quite comfortable. When the 3rd row is in use, the trunk space is pretty limited. I don't think we could use the 3rd row and pack luggage in the trunk for an extended trip. With just the bench seat in use, the trunk is massive with plenty of room for luggage for extended trips as a family of 4. I love the touchscreen, sound system, and the additional safety features included with the Luxury package (although I will note that the safety features are a little "sensitive" for city driving and heavy traffic). The one feature that I truly dislike is the auto start/stop and the fact that it can only temporarily be switched off using the physical button on the center console. I would permanently disable this feature if I could. This car drives like a Lexus should. It's extremely comfortable, smooth, and easy. I was skeptical of the turbo 4 cylinder engine but it's honestly fine - even with the aggressive drivers in the DC area. I occasionally switch it to sport-mode but mostly find it's not necessary. My one real complaint is the odd cup holders. Test your Stanleys and Owalas, ladies! Some are just slightly too large to fit and they definitely don't fit in the door cup holders. The cup holders in the 2nd row bench configuration are oddly small and the water bottles my kids love to use do not fit. All in all, a fantastic vehicle. No regrets upgrading.

My mom owns this car and I have driven it and been a passenger quite a few times. It is stylish and comfortable. She has used 3 car seats in it when watching my kids (one rear facing and two forward facing). She has captains chairs and it is easy for my oldest to get to the third row and into her car seat. You do need a lower profile car seat in the back row for leg room. It is such a smooth drive and I am impressed by the trunk space. I can fit a stroller and groceries in the trunk. My mom LOVES her car and if I only had 2 kids I would definitely get this car. For our lifestyle we likely need a bit more room and will have to go to a full size SUV. But I love this car!

Tall parent & tall kid friendly! We got the hybrid (500h) and it gets 25-26 mpg on average for me. I love how fast it accelerates while still being such a smooth ride. Captains chairs are standard on the 500h, which was a plus for us. The 3rd row has been used several times by kids & adults. It is so comfortable for everyone!

2026 Lexus TX 350 AWD Luxury Pros: I love this car, enough that I bought it twice in one year. The captain's chairs are essential for my family (I drove a loaner with the bench seat and it didn't work for us). There's plenty of room in all three rows, even for tall adults. We ran two rear-facing Graco Extend2Fit car seats for about six months, and they fit well with minimal loss of front-row comfort. The AWD handled ice beautifully and felt very safe. I had the dealership paint the roof black and black out the emblems, which makes the car stand out. Highly recommend. Cons: I love the car, but a few minor, fixable issues have come up. • Sealing: Both cars I bought had wind-whistle problems from the windshield and moonroof seals. It took multiple dealer visits to fix. • Rear AC: The dealer acknowledged an issue with the rear AC evaporator casing that causes a loud noise. I've had it in both of my purchased cars and in loaners. If yours gets repaired, make sure the technician clamps all the hoses, or you'll lose all your coolant and the car will overheat. • Fuel economy: I average about 20 mpg on my all-highway commute (20 minutes without traffic, up to 30 with). The tank is on the small side, so I'm at the pump every five days. A larger tank would be nice.

My husband and I are tall and have children who will also be tall. We are people who own cars for an extended amount of time so I was looking for a car that I could easily have for 8 to 10 years. Our children are 3 & 6 now and I wanted to make sure as they grew there would be space for them but also their friends. The Lexus checked all of the boxes. While I don’t love the exterior in some ways the performance, the second and third row legroom, and everything else about the car has been great. We have loved it and for us it checked all of the boxes.

I love my TX. We have captains chairs which works great for 2 kids. It drives smoothly and I love the feel of the interior. Trunk is a good size even with the third row up. My only huge complaint is that the electric start doesn’t work well. You have to press a combination of buttons and I can never get it to work. Two thumbs down for that design flaw.

The Lexus Tx was our first family car purchase after we retired a tried and true 2013 CRV. I’ve been beyond impressed by the quality, comfort and functionality of the TX. Car seats fit comfortably in the second row captains chairs and the third row is surprisingly spacious as third rows go - adults can actually use it! Love that there is still useable trunk space with the third row is up. Having owned the TX for over six months now I can confidently say it provides all the function and a touch of luxury that positions it as a solid family vehicle. It handles extremely well in a variety of climates and has excellent speed and turning radius despite its size. Feels much more responsive and agile than the Palisade or Atlas models we test drove. Highly recommend!!

This vehicle is a family dream! We don’t need all of the space regularly but when we need to take the dog with us or we want to take extended family, there is still plenty of space for everyone. We have a pipa urbn for our daughter and it fits decently, although multiple passengers have found their normal comfort setting is not compatible. Overall I love driving this vehicle and a couple of months post purchase I’m still thoroughly in love with it.

PROS: I have a Lexus TX 500h F sport luxury and absolutely love it for its smooth, quiet ride, ceiling vents in the back, extended sun roof over the middle row captain chairs (my toddler’s favorite), built in window shades, and the premium feel and aesthetic of the interior. I usually leave the third row folded down which then fits a large portable dog crate for our yellow lab in addition to our large stroller, and then some. When the third row is up it’s two larger seats (no tiny middle seat) and is a surprisingly comfortable and spacious spot to ride. I get approx 23.4 mpg in summer and closer to 21/22 mpg through the winters in this hybrid with my mostly in-town driving. I live in Minnesota and am pleased with the wintery/snowy conditions handling this car achieves without needing to toggle it between regular and 4 wheel drive. CONS: I know this is common with most rear facing car seats, but I do feel limited in front seat movement with my child’s Baby Jogger rotating car seat installed in either seat in the second row. I’ve also tried our (non-rotating) Graco 4ever extend2fit dlx with minimal improvement, if any. I know there are smaller car seats that would likely work well but we’re making it work (I’m 5’6”, my husband 6’ and we both can comfortably drive with a rear facing seat behind the driver). Also be aware the TX models prior to 2026 have had a fuel door problem with consistently opening when the fuel door release is pressed. Lexus issued a warrantied repair but it involves removing the entire back panel of the vehicle and sending the car to a body shop for paint work to then blend the unpainted fuel door with the rest of the paint on the car. At least that’s how it was done on my 2025 vehicle. So if factory paint and minimal to no major repair is important to you on a vehicle be sure to ask about this if looking at a 2025 or older TX.

This car is very spacious. It’s comparable to a GMC Denali with space, but it drives like an Acura MDX. It’s very smooth, has great pick up speed, and is comfortable. I love the built-in safety features using face detection. The automated 3rd row seats is very convenient and it can be controlled by the screen in the front seat (bonus!!). I don’t love the grill and the appearance of the car head on but everything else is sporty and great.

Stylish, comfortable, and a smooth ride. Does feel more elevated than the Grand Highlander by far. Lexus really gets you with a big difference in their trim level features/styling though!

This is my mom car! I have one child, 6 months old, rear facing in a Chicco key fit 360 behind the driver (me). I am 5’10 and drive for work (medical device sales) and truly live out of my car during the day, so my expectations were high! I previously owned an Audi Q5 Quattro. I couldn’t fit my daughter behind me in the car seat . I also haul a lot of items for my job so space, luxury, and performance were important to me and we landed on the Lexus TX! I absolutely love this vehicle aside from a few complaints I’ll list later. The technology is great, even better than my Audi. Carplay comes through the driver side speaker so music keeps playing in the cabin while I use voice to text. I love that climate control is on screen even when infotainment is up and having physical buttons for temp control but not TOO many buttons for other climate options. I love the vented/heated front and rear seats. Love that the rear vents are on the ceiling vs center console or pillar so they reach baby in her car seat. I know car mom disagrees, BUT I LOVE THE REMOVABLE CUPHOLDERS!! I am often pumping and driving (oops) and I can fit anything I need in the center console since the cup holders pop out! I also utilize the rear sun shades for privacy when pumping in the car or to keep my pump bag shaded when I’m inside hospitals all day. Rear seat is comfortable. I sat back there for a 12+ hour drive to the beach and had plenty of room. We set the back seat up with the diaper caddy which fit perfectly in the middle gap between two captains chairs.Third row fits two VERY large suitcases for my job as well as a storage tub of extra supplies and several more bags of product. Downsides: the fuel tank is SMALL. I fill up a LOT. We had issues with the fuel tank not popping open and had to get that fixed. Also, you cant drive with your leg because the steering column is high. I wish lane assist was more aggressive when not in adaptive cruise. My Audi was better in that way and also faster.

I love my Lexus TX! It is the perfect size with plenty of space without feeling "too big". I am always driving my 2 kids around and occasionally will drive my dog or parents too. Everyone has enough room. The trunk is also incredible for the mid-size category. My only small complaint is the power folding seats are in a space kids could reach. But it had everything on my mom car checklist... ceiling vents (check), sun shades (check), heated seats (check), great tech (check), and recommended by the Car Mom!

My husband and I purchased a 2025 Lexus TX while taking family planning into consideration and we couldn't be happier. We don't have children at the moment, but this will be the perfect vehicle to grow into. I was previously driving a 2015 Toyota Corolla and did a lot of research on the Lexus TX (Car Mom, FB groups, YouTube videos, etc.). We were sold on the luxury style while serving practicality. We have a 2 year old Golden Retriever who happily travels with us in the 3rd row. We travel a lot with friends who favor our vehicle due to the space and comfort. We also have siblings, families, nieces and nephews who occasionally travel with us and fit comfortably with/without car seats in the 2nd and 3rd row. The third row has 2 comfortable seats versus what I'd call a "2.5 seat" (because the middle seat is usually so tiny). My husband and his entire family are 6'0 and above, and fit comfortably in the 2nd and 3rd row. We have also put car seats & booster seats in the 3rd row and there is a lot of leg room for the littles. We also love the 2nd row captain's chairs, which leg room hasn't been an issue because I'm only a 5'2 driver. Our Lexus TX has served us well and it will continue to do so! I attached some photos of what we've fit into our Lexus thus far. My only complaint is the vehicle has a 4 cylinder engine versus 6 (unless we upgraded to the TX550h+, but I'm not a crazy car enthusiast so it wasn't a deal breaker for me.

We love the Tx500 for our growing family. The third row is comfortable enough for adults on shorter trips, though maybe not ideal for a long haul, and it's perfect for our two dogs on road trips. With the third row up, there's still plenty of trunk space. The second-row captain's seats are especially comfortable, which makes a big difference when I'm sitting next to my child on longer drives. Coming from an Audi Q5, the transition was surprisingly easy, and it doesn't feel like I'm driving a bus!

It's just okay. That's disappointing for the price of it. I am disliking the technology - it already feels dated. The controls don't seem like they are in natural places. It's hard to really access the 3rd row. I will be trading it in soon.

When it was time to replace our 2015 Chevy Tahoe my needs were: more 3rd row leg room for when we utilize the 3rd row, a more luxurious interior and better gas mileage without losing space. After testing driving many SUV’s and just not feeling like they were worth the money I watched Kelly’s review of the Lexus TX and went to test drive the TX350 and TX500h. The 500h f sport was amazing giving us the speed and sporty handling we wanted and improving gas mileage. I’m averaging about 23-25 mpg which for a large SUV is great. Space wise the interior, third row leg room and trunk space are larger than the Tahoe we had. From the exterior it is a half inch shorter but handles so much better, great turning radius and so much easier to park. I’ve been driving the vehicle for 6 months now and I absolutely love it! The only small negative was in order to get the panoramic roof we had to get the highest trim (luxury). This is a 6 passenger vehicle which for us is what we need and we’d rather have 6 spacious seats over a cramped 3 across, but if you need 7 it won’t work.

This is my first luxury car and before this I owned an Atlas, Explorer, Traverse and Jeep Cherokee. While I loved my Atlas, it’s started having issues at just 60k miles so I opted for a more reliable car…Toyota / Lexus. While I did look at the Grand Highlander (knowing it was nearly the same), I wasn’t pleased with the 3rd row seating (kudos to The Car Moms reviews). I’m a mom of 3 and while my first two are older, we still take a lot of family trips. Additionally, have all kids in sports I knew I would have their friends /teammates in my car. My work is fairly close and put on less than 10k miles a year. For this reason, I don’t feel like the extra $10k was worth getting a hybrid. I consider myself a safe driver and I average around 22 MPG (city) and 28 MPG (highway). I had read reviews that the hybrid didn’t get much more than the average for non hybrid. I love how smooth and quiet this car drives. Second row ceiling vents was a must (coming from the Atlas). Having older kids I opted for captains chairs and love how spacious the seating is. The trunk space was truly a surprise. The technology and luxury is an added bonus. So far, this is one of my favorite vehicles and not sure I’ll ever buy anything other than Toyota / Lexus.

Love this car! It’s very agile to drive and I can park it almost anywhere. Trunk space can be a little tight if you need the 3rd row up all the time so that’s a factor, but it’s been a great car! I haul 4 kids around regularly in it even though I only have 1 kid myself and it works great. I don’t think I’d like this car if I had 2 rear facing car seats, because there’s not a TON of clearance between driver seat and the second row. Easy enough to put it on passenger side with just one. But with 2 that could be an issue.

The Lexus TX works great for our family of 4. The second row was bucket seats and ceiling air vents. Another favorite item is the built in sunscreens in the windows for the second row. The 3rd row is a 2 seater and they’re actually very comfortable. It’s a little hard to get to the back with car seats in the second row but once back there actually very comfortable. Truck space with third row up is still very good and with third row down amazing. Overall we absolutely love our TX. Thanks for influencing us! 🫶🏻

Love the car with two kids. Easy in and out and enough space that I can fit rotating car seats. The third row does have lots of space. With two car seats installed it is tricky accessing the third row with a bench seat. I love the space in the trunk even with the third row up, but usually have it down.

This car is phenomenal and everything I dreamed of. I watched this car for awhile and after reviewing a Car Mom post, I went in and put a deposit on it and waited what felt like forever for it to be released. I have never loved a car mom. It’s great with car seats, upper vents in the back, and my 6’2” husband can fit in the third row…like whattt. I am a softball coach and my girls and their friends can fit in it with ease (which was my dream).

I love my TX. We opted for captains chairs in the second row so have no issues with two car seats. I’m 5’10 and needed a car that was comfortable with plenty of leg room in the drivers seat with a rear facing car seat behind. Plenty of room in the third row with a decent amount of trunk space remaining when all seats are up. The safety sensors can sometimes be a little sensitive which can be trying at times (abrupt stops when you’re too close to something, incessant beeping when trying to park even if you’re not that close to something) - I think you can adjust these settings but I haven’t taken the time to do it. It doesn’t bother me that much but that’s my only critique. Fantastic car. Would definitely purchase again.

Overall, this is a fantastic family hauler. We can fit our stroller in with the third row up, and our tall family fits comfortably in the third row. Styling leaves something to be desired. The interior is nice, but definitely not luxurious. I didn't really understand the difference between Luxury and Premium until this car. Nothing fancy or plush, and the contrast stitching is just not my thing. The ride is incredibly smooth and quiet. It's so well insulated that from the outside, I can barely hear my 1.5-year-old screaming in protest after being put in the car seat. This car is not for the person who loves to "feel the car"; it's more for the person who wants a gliding ride. I'm 5'10," and it's definitely a little tight with a rear-facing car seat in my second row captains' chairs, but we've made the EvenFlow Revolve 360 work without feeling too cramped up front. We've found some issues with CarPlay syncing across multiple phones in the car, and it is a little tricky to get the car into Neutral. I like the safety features (camera, lane assist, etc.), but the auto-braking can be a little bit sensitive and jarring. That feature can be turned off if needed. We chose this car after test-driving the Acura MDX and Volvo XC90, for its third-row legroom, storage space, and Lexus reliability. We parallel-parked it for a year with ease, so it's definitely in the sweet spot if you need a larger SUV but aren't ready for a full-size one.

We are a family of 4 with 2 kids, age 14 and 10. The Lexus TX is a great option! It's roomy and comfortable. The 2nd row in mine has captains chairs which is great for my 2 because they are older and prefer to have their own space. The 3rd row is comfortable and I love that it has 2 seats. It makes the ride for those 3rd row passengers much more comfortable. We don't use it often but I like having the option. And even with the 3rd row up I still have plenty of cargo space in the back for groceries, my kids instruments, etc. We took this car on a 13 day road trip over the summer and it worked out very well for us! We were all comfortable and had plenty of space for our luggage and things we bought along the way. The wireless Apple Carplay is a winner for me. The TX is so sleek and overall just a beautiful SUV.

I love my car! I have the 2024 Lexus TX350 with a bench seat. The middle seat in the second row is a little narrow but I enjoy having the option to sit between my kids’ car seats if needed. My only complaint is the small gas tank; I don’t drive a lot but still need to fill up once a week!

We upgraded my Acura RDX to the Lexus TX 500h right before my second daughter was born. While we didn’t need a new car for 2 kids, we also financially didn’t want to have 2 car payments at the same time and my husband drives a 2018 RAM 1500 and wasn’t ready to get rid of his truck. We do really love this car. We travel from St. Louis to Champaign for Illinois sporting events with my parents and will move my 3 year old’s forward facing nuna rava to the third row with me and my mom will ride in the captain chair next to my 1 year old in a rear facing nuna rava. I am 5’8” and my husband is 6’3” and we both ride very comfortably in the second row. We love the ceiling vents and sun shades & the trunk space with the third row up still has room for my trvl stroller, scooter and 4 grocery bags from Trader Joe’s. One of my only complaints is that I do wish the aisle between the captain’s chairs was a little bigger and that the car had a bigger gas tank. The tank on the 500h is only 12 gallons which feels small for a car of this size. The only way to easily get into the third row is the tilt on the second row which I can’t do when there’s a carseat in the seat, hence, we move my three year old to the third row to free up a seat. I love that there are lower anchors and tethers on both of the third row seats, and my AC / heat is on a dial so I still have buttons.

I’m obsessed with my Lexus TX, my only complaint is the 4 cylinder engine. Wish it had a little bit more “Go” but otherwise it’s the best vehicle for my family of 5

I absolutely love this car! I have the 2nd row bucket seats and love the access to the 3rd row it provides. Both the 2nd and 3rd row have great leg room. The automatic folding 3rd row is a great feature so I don't have to get out of the car.

We have three kids in car seats and don’t feel like this car is tight with those and a stroller. We have taken it on road trips and had plenty of storage space. I love this car. I think I would get the more powerful engine if I would do it all over again, but it’s a great on the go, mom car.

I’ve been driving my Lexus TX 350 for 4 months and can say I am overall very pleased with our purchase. Our girls are 6 and 9 and no longer require storage for a ton of gear or car seats beyond boosters, so we wanted to upgrade our 2017 Honda Pilot Elite to something slightly larger/more spacious for growing kids and more luxurious. Where the TX shines is in how it rides. We love how quiet and smooth the vehicle is on the road as well as how agile it handles. It’s genuinely enjoyable to drive! We’ve taken it on a long road trip already and it was extremely comfortable for our family of four even with all of our luggage. The trunk is incredibly spacious with the third row up. Each row feels roomy and the seats are very soft. While we do not use the third row often, we do when my parents come with us and it’s plenty spacious for adults in the back. It used to be hot in the third row of my Pilot, but this vehicle is much better! What I find myself wishing for was a bit more luxury on the finishes of the interior. Give me some stitching, wood, more ambient lighting, something! While it does feel like an upgrade from my Pilot, it is not screaming luxury like a BMW, Mercedes, etc would. I think Lexus could have done a bit more to bring that to their design in what is expected from the brand. My husband calls it utilitarian luxury. Ha! The large screen is intuitive and really eye catching. I am excited for the reliability and how the TX is holding its value for trade in. I do not love the styling of the front of the TX, but that wasn’t enough to steer me away from it as it checked so many boxes for our family. The rest of the exterior is gorgeous. My other complaint is the gas tank is smaller than expected so I am filling up more than I used to! Be aware it does require premium gas. Overall, the TX is a beautiful, comfortable midsize SUV worthy of your consideration and we are very happy with our new car.

I bought this car after seeing Car Mom’s review on it. I was looking at a Toyota Highlander platinum trim and I listened to Kelly’s explanation on YouTube of why she would chose the Lexus TX instead. I LOVE my car and am so thankful I listened to Kelly’s advice. I actually got a MUCH better trade in with Lexus than I did at Toyota for my Sequoia. I have zero regrets with my car. My dad bought a Buick Enclave shortly before I got my car and he wishes he would have looked at the Lexus TX. It is a fabulous car and more importantly Kelly’s input on car seat setup and comparing values vs competitor cars is invaluable. Thank you Kelly!!!

I absolutely love my TX. It functions so well as a family car. The second and third rows have a ton of space that will accommodate my kids through high school. The trunk space is great even with the third row up. I had a BMW X7 prior to this and the functionality of the TX is far superior. The only downside is the performance, but that is a small price to pay for all of the other updates. I do wish that I had gotten the hybrid though!

Absolutely love the TX. It’s the perfect mid-size SUV that feels bigger than it really is because Lexus has maximized the interior space. It is almost mysterious how they have utilized functional space. We have a true third row, and we have ample cargo space with or without the third row up. This is hard to find, even in larger SUVs. We moved from the RX to the TX when we had our second child to give us a little more space, and it has been absolutely perfect for our family. I was originally worried that a bigger SUV would feel like I was driving a truck, but it drives very similarly to the RX. It drives like a Lexus (smooth), and turns are easy and smooth. We went back and forth on captain seats vs. bench, but the Car Mom convinced me to do the bench seat and I’m so glad we did. The middle seat in the second row is actually large enough for me to fit between my infant and toddler. We’ve primarily kept the third row down for extra cargo space for now unless we have grandparents, etc. riding with us. My only complaint is that the Bluetooth functionality (for example, Apple CarPlay) is not always reliable and the audio sometimes cuts in and out. Not a huge deal, but for long trips I may use the plug-in option rather than Bluetooth CarPlay. We found the TX to be one of the VERY few SUVs on the market that fit our needs — specifically a true third row with good cargo space. Additionally, we were surprised by the value of the car. It’s well-priced in our option compared to other luxury SUVs/even other Lexus models. It’s comparable to other similar non-luxury models in price, and you get the Lexus quality and service which is what has kept us loyal to the Lexus brand for 15+ years! Of course, it’s also no secret that they carry high safety and reliability ratings. We are so happy with our purchase.

Purchased in April 2026 and loving my TX350 so far! I have two forward facing rotating car seats (Evenflo 360) in the second row and they fit great! We are able to fit in between the captain chairs to enter the third row if needed. I love that the second row has vents above the seats as we have very hot summers. Also having the sun shades in the second row is great! The trunk space is great even with the third row up. We are able to easily fit sports gear back there and fold the third row if needed. It drives so smooth and the technology is great! The 360 camera is amazing and probably my favorite feature. My only complain would be the gas mileage, I wish I would have realized how low the gas range is and I would have gone with the hybrid instead.

We love this car! We currently have two rear-facing car seats (Nuna Pipa and Cybex Callisto 360) in the second row, but still have adequate leg room as tall drivers (5'10" and 6'3"). We had even more legroom when previously using the Nuna RAVA. The interior feels very high end with the large infotainement screen. The 360 camera is a huge help, especially in tight parking spaces! I enjoy the removable cupholders as it accomodates my water bottles that don't fit in a normal cupholder and are easily stored in the large center console. The retractable sun shades and ceiling vents are a must with small kids. I currently have the bench and don't think I would be able to add a third car seat to the middle with my current set up (but could probably get new car seats to make it work). The third row is tight for tall adults, but comfortable for kids. The trunk is a GREAT size with the third row down, but can also accomodate a stroller with the third row up. My only complaint is the smaller gas tank and ugly front grille. If they added car seat tilt this car would be perfect. Otherwise, this is a great, practical luxury family car!

I love my car! I now wish it was a little bigger in 1st & 2nd row. I purchased when my daughters were 1 and 4. It was a great fit for our family. We needed 3rd row and also space for an uppababy stroller. That and the tech updates really sold us. Now that the girls are almost 4 and 7 it is tight with school pick up / drop off. They have book bags and sports equipment and the 2nd row fills up very fast. When my husband is driving I am finding myself having to store things at my feet and that is not ideal. Very nice but at our school the kids will stand up on the console and look out the sun roof and it just is not big enough for 2. I also wish there were more cup holders. It is very comfy and has great tech!

This is a great three row SUV for Mom's with young kids or older kids. Love the sun shades and spacious 2nd row. Third row is a good size for kids, but a bit tight for adults (especially tall ones). The trunk has a lot of room for carrying all of the items needed for all the sporting events. Overall I had really enjoyed owning this vehicle for the last 2 1/2 years.

I have three kids in car seats and they fit beautifully in the second row with plenty of room for all passengers. I’ve also sat in the third row very comfortably when necessary. But normally I keep the third row down for trunk space and it always exceeds my expectations as far as space goes. The Lexus TX has been the perfect mix of luxury but SUPER family friendly. I love this car so much and am very happy with the purchase!

The TX is an excellent luxury midsize suv. You get the smooth ride, low cost of ownership and nice finishes that are expected with a Lexus. The tech is very nicely updated as compared to my older GX. The sport package with the black wheels on the white car is very sharp. I love that the third row has 2 decent sized seats versus 3 tiny seats like a lot of the midsize suvs. Truly my only complaint is that I wish there was a place to put my purse in the middle console area. 🤷‍♀️ Highly recommend the TX for a mom who wants to have something that feels a little luxury while still being very practical for growing boys who play lots of sports.

I went from a Volvo xc90 to a TX and love it!!! I do think it is a little lacking on the pickup/performance but that’s okay- everything else makes up for it. It’s extremely comfortable and the perfect car for 2 littles. I have one RF and one FF. We have an evenflo 360 and a Doona right now, will soon switch to a harness booster for my oldest and all configurations leave plenty of room for the passenger, which is what I was missing in my Volvo. Love!!

So much interior room after coming from the GX. I was concerned about the pick-up after driving the V8 GX and I’ve no issues. Very smooth driving. I often have 2 kids with me, one in the Rava and one in the Uppababy Rove and there’s plenty of space. The gas mileage has been better than expected on the 350 model at 22.5mpg. Overall, I’m very happy with the TX. I trade often every 2 years sometimes 18 months and I’m super happy with it so far!

We fit our three (1 in booster) in the new TX EASILY. the captains middle is a dream (complete with cooling/heated seats) the third row is easily accessible, and spacious. Tons of cup holders, USB C adapters, and such soft leather. Front seat and passenger are spacious, cozy and literally feel like a dream to drive. I love the safety parameters of the car, the quietness of the drive, the look of the exterior, the interior features, I could go on and on. It's just the best. The trunk space is also great. Truly just an awesome vehicle.

I love my Lexus TX. I have two kids in boosters and a third on the way. It has been easy to put other kids in boosters when carpooling (I did *very tightly* fit 5 girl scouts in boosters in the second and third row). I don't know if we are going to be able to make 3 across work when baby comes, but our third row is easy to access and has plenty of room. I love my front space, the cup holders are spacious and they remove easy. This is really nice to clean up spills, or if you have a bigger drink. I like the wireless charger, it is in a logistically easy place to put your phone, that doesn't totally make it inaccessible. I also like the center console as it opens in the middle, so that the driver can have their elbow there and you can still access inside. I will say, my safety settings are VERY sensitive (but that might be adjustable), for example, if I am trying to back up over snow, sometimes the automatic braking will engage for a small pile of snow that the car could easily go over.

Overall, the TX has been treating us well. We have captains chairs in the second row and it’s is a little more uncomfortable for adults than I’d like, but it’s mainly my kids sitting back there anyway. There is a ton of trunk space with the third row down, which fits our large dog well, and a decent amount with the third row up. It does struggle a bit with power but with it being Lexus, it will last (hopefully) for a very long time.

My husband was in the market for a new car when the TX was announced, he is not a truck guy, didn't want a Tahoe but needed to fit adults comfortably for work, a baby on the way, a big dog and wanted a luxury SUV. We put down the deposit and knew we would purchase when it became available. He absolutely loves it and so do I. We love that the third row is only 2 seats with lower anchors and tether in every seat option. We sometimes wish we had the bench but we didn't want to wait for that. He can fit multiple sets of golf clubs and costco orders. He is 6'3" so we do put the rear facing car seat behind the passenger but there is still plenty of room. Only con is it does have a smaller gas tank.

I love my Lexus 2026 TX 500h. It has been great with two kids and now with one more on the way the only downfalls is the lack of a carseat tilt and inability to get a bench 2nd row in the 500h(I wanted for the power). Other small things I would change is having front row armrests-only have the console and door- as well as small center aisle in the middle row so it defeats the ease of having the captain chairs. We will see how the Doona works with the tilt we have been using for my oldest to get to the back recently. I love the style, luxury, quiet, reliability, space (seats, trunk, ability to drive- all of it) of the vehicle while not needing to be a full size SUV.

This is my after minivan for 15 years car! My kids are grown and I loved my minivans. I like driving a bigger car and like having a bench seat for when all 5 of us go somewhere together. My husband has a Tahoe with captain's chairs and my kids much prefer my backseat bench, so no one has to climb into the 3rd row. The back seat has enough leg room and space for 3 adults. The one thing I don't like is there are no cupholders if you are using all 3 seats. It is a fun car to drive and has all the safety features and will even park itself.

I love my TX! I think it’s perfect for 2 kids. It would be tight with 3, but doable with the right car seats. The inside is very comfortable, the technology is just enough, and it just feels like a safe, reliable car. Good enough trunk space and lots of leg room in the 3rd row, especially. For reference, I went from the RX with one kid and to the TX after we had our 2nd kid.

I LOVE my tx because it actually has a third row that can fit adults. I really have nothing negative to say about it. Except… The exterior is nothing special. It’s fine. It’s decent. But for as much as we paid for it, I think I should feel a little more wow’d when I see it from the outside. We love the plug in hybrid. When fully charged, we get 40-45 miles on electric. For the type of driving I do, that electric charge lasts all day. I have only had to fill up my gas tank a handful of times since we got it. But because I don’t use gas often, if at all, we have to put non-ethanol gas in the car- which is more expensive than regular. You could also buy an additive to put in your tank, but I don’t want to mess with that. I just put non ethanol gas in. Highly recommend the plug in hybrid- but it sounds like they can be hard to get your hands on one.

Exterior: very sleek, modern looking. Large, without looking bulky or boring or too rugged. Performance: 350h AWD, think it is slightly under powered for the size. However drives great even with a car full of luggage and people. Just doesn’t have as much pep in its step as I’d like. Avg 22-23mpg overall, so can’t complain too much! Tech: love the big screen. Still adjusting to where a lot of the features live. I like the “real” dials for temp, don’t love that pretty much everything else is integrated into the touch screen. Nice that I can fold 3rd row from the drivers seat and love the surround view camera, park assist, and safety features. Interior: Bench is wide and comfy. Wish I had opted for 2nd row heated seats. Wish I had carseat tilt. 2” of additional clearance for 2nd row carseats would be a dream, I have a tall husband and his settings and the exit assist in the drivers seat makes things very tight. Graco Slimfit3LX works though! 3rd row is very comfy with only 2 seats, my 6’2” husband is even comfortable back there! Trunk space is sufficient for a full size stroller (Cybex Gazelle!) and a few additional bags. Not many additional storage spots hiding anywhere, the spare tire takes up most of the under floor trunk storage.

Obsessed with this car for my fam of 3. I have the captains, so we have my 5yo self buckling in a booster in the third row, and that independence is key.

I've had this car for about 6 months and am absolutely loving it so far. Not only do I feel cool driving it, but it is so incredibly comfortable. And with the ceiling vents for my two rear facing kids, they are much more comfortable too. The tech has been great -- everything working the way it's supposed to, wireless charger, really large screen, wireless CarPlay. It's just a pretty car that seems to work really well too. I have a TX 350 Premium with a bench seat. I have two rear facing kids, one using a Nuna Rava and one in an Evenflo Revolve 360.

As a mom of 2, I love this car. It’s the first reliable car I have owned in the past 5 years 😅. It’s comfortable, fashionable, and spacious. My kids both play sports, cheer, softball and soccer. And we are able to load everything in this car. From easy ups, to wagons and snacks. Also able to haul the grandparents in the third row when needed. My fav mom feature are the built in sunshades in the second row. My least fav thing is that the acceleration does tend to lag. I do wish it came in a V6 option.

As a family of 3 we absolutely love the Tx. We got captain chairs so our older kids could easily get in and out of the 3rd row themselves. The legroom in the 2nd and 3rd rows is amazing. My husband (6’4”) sat in the second row on a long car trip and commented how he had so much space - he was totally comfortable and had no issues sitting there for multiple hours. The 3rd row also has a lot more leg room than other vehicles we looked at. We could easily fit our 4 year olds car seat (forward facing) and my 6 year olds booster seat back there with plenty of room for both of them. Plus the reliability of the Lexus was key for our family. We looked at a lot of cars and the reliability and great set up sold us on the Tx. It was the best of all of the ones we looked at (Lexus GX, Volvo xc90, grand highlander, Highlander and infinity)

Finding the right package with features I wanted proved to be a bit challenging but was finally successful! I wanted all the technology of the 350 luxury but the sportiness of the F sport. Our dealership problem solved by adding F sport rims to my luxury TX350. Our cybex Callisto 360 and Nuna pipa infant seat fits easily though I was surprised that our passenger side front leg room is a bit less compared to our former 2021 Mercedes GLE where the cybex is located behind, but still comfortable for my 6 foot husband. The technology is great, very responsive, and the user interface is very easy to learn! There’s still some tech we haven’t figured out but that will come with time, but most important to me is ease of getting to applecar play and the radio which it is very easy to learn. While some of your air controls are on the digital screen I appreciate it still has knobs for the temp. I also love that I can control the rear air since we have young children in rear facing car seats. Our car drives very smooth like a typical luxury car but doesn’t feel too large given the size. The few complaints I have is it is a smaller gas tank than my GLE so I have to fill up more often. It doesn’t have the ambient lighting like most luxury cars come with now (which is very minor. Another complaint it is constantly displaying “sit up, driver inattention” or similar phrase of if I drive with my hand in the center of the steering wheel. We do not use the third row often but my 6 foot BIL has rode in it and stayed it was comfortable and the car seat tilt made it easy to get in and out of. We also like the sunshades built in though it would be nice if they were motorized just for convenience. Otherwise we love this car! It is very family friendly, smooth ride, and fits our family of 4 plus dog very well! We are really happy we switched from Mercedes GLE to this Lexus (though I loved the Mercedes as well).

My husband and I are both 6ft+ so having leg room was a huge priority for us. My husband maintains that the 2nd row actually had more room for him than when he is a passenger. This car checked all our boxes, we love our bench seat, and almost alway have our 3rd row down to haul the stroller our large dog. It's great to have the room for all of us and have room to grow! I love how quiet the drive is, love the sun shades and ceiling vents too!

The Lexus TX F Sport Hybrid is a wonderful family car. The third row is roomy and still has decent trunk space with the 3rd row up. With the 3rd row down, the trunk is HUGE. The F Sport Hybrid is fun to drive and has quite a a lot of “get up” - it’s fast! The charcoal rims on the wheels are one of my favorite features of the F Sport package. My only knock on the F Sport package is the contoured seats. Unless you have a tiny rear, the contour can be quite uncomfortable. The gas mileage doesn’t seem accurate to what’s displayed on the window sticker either. Keep that in mind when considering the hybrid option. All in all, we love the car for zooming around town to kids events and loading it up for road trips!

I am a forever Lexus fan after getting into a terrible accident with my previous Lexus (we rolled multiple times and myself, husband, and 18 month old walked away) and the tow truck driver said he always sees the Toyota and Lexus’ victims coming away unscathed. So this brought us to the TX when we had 2 kids and this is such a family friendly car: ceiling vents!, amazing leg room and comfort in 3rd row, great trunk space even with 3rd row up, window shades in 2nd row, and nice technology! I will say the second row can be tight if you have a rear facing carseat and a tall driver, but it is fine for me at 5’5 with my rear facing Evenflo Revolve in the “upright” position. My husband does have a tight time at 5’10 with the Evenflo Revolve behind him, but still doable. We also have the Diono booster in other captain that I can remove easily and place in any other seat which I have done a few times. The booster seat gives ample leg room in third row for a kid if needed.

We went from the RX350 to the TX350 Luxury 2 1/2 years ago and WOW the extra space the TX provides is amazing. We opted for the captains chairs for easier access to the 3rd row (which we keep half down for extra trunk space) for kids to climb back to. The ceiling vents are a 10/10 for our 2nd row kiddos. I will say if it had car seat tilt that would be more enticing to parents but with us having the captains chairs with only 2 kids, having the access in the middle we wouldn’t need that feature. We had 2 Nuna Ravas (one forward facing and the other rear facing still) and just recently switched our oldest to the Nuna AACE high back booster which I pictured. The built in sunshades are such a great provided feature. The tech is phenomenal and user friendly with Apple car play that isn’t glitchy in my opinion. It is a perfect mom car for me without being a HUGE hard to maneuver SUV.

I love this car. We are expecting our second child and have a large dog so we upgraded from the rx350h to this tx500h. Even though it’s bigger, it drives pretty much the same and doesn’t feel huge. I can have car seats in both captains chairs and our dog in the third row and still have enough trunk space to put stuff back there. The third row is also comfortable enough for a human to sit in and gets great air flow. I also like the outside of the 500 model, the black accents and wheels make it look great!

I love my Tx! Of the midsize category the third row and trunk space was the best I could find. The tech and safety features are sleek. I just used adaptive cruise for the first time for a road trip last weekend and was blown away by how easy and intuitive it was. My three gripes: - Third row is only two seats vs. three. I wish we could fit 7 vs. six with captains - I wish it had car seat tilt, then I maybe would have gotten a bench - The low gas indicator comes on too late (~13 miles) and barely makes any notification, I constantly miss it.

Mom of 3, 3.5 years and under. We got the tx when we were expecting our 2nd 2.5 years ago. It has been a great car. Kept me safe while getting rear-ended at 32 weeks pregnant after only having car 4 months. Sad day but we're safe. Anyway the car has been great. Spacious inside while not feeling huge to drive. The tech is great easy to use. We have the bench seat. Currently operating 3 across with 2 graco slim fits and a graco SnugRide. Love the built in sun shades in second row and of course ceiling vents. Appreciate that 3rd row is only 2 good sized seats. I Currently keep the third row down and have great truck space to keep a single stroller and a double and a grocery trip. I also loved the hatch can we opened by using my foot. Lots of things to enjoy about the car and grateful it has kept my family safe.

My mom (and grandma of 5) drives this car and it’s PERFECT. It’s sexy, functional, great for passengers in the front and comfort and functionality in the back. It’s a luxury every day ride with grandma ready potential. She doesn’t have to haul a lot of trunk cargo but aside from large dogs or Costco hauls with a full 3rd row would seem very do-able.

I love my car. I got the 550h+ and I’ve gotten gas twice in 6 months. Plenty of front leg room with both infant and rear facing car seats as well as booster seats. Two adults can comfortably sit in the third row. We paid to have more tinting added. The interior could be fancier and the material along the doors is a little too fragile for a family car. Otherwise, it’s a pretty car that can handle all ages and stages.

Love my TX. Did a lot of research before buying, which included watching a ton of Car Mom Youtube & Instagram reviews. I have 3 young children in car seats so her review of this car was vital in knowing we could do 3 car seats across the second row - also Kelly's knowledge of car seats is another reason we trust her reviews! Anyway, my husband is 6'2" and he's able to sit comfortably in the driver's seat w/a rear-facing car seat behind him. We've used the 3rd row when my youngest was in a baseless infant seat & it was comfortable for passengers. With the 3rd row down, there's plenty of trunk space (fits double jogging stroller or 4 seater wagon for reference). Took the car on a road trip with 2 toddlers and a baby and managed to fit everything! Beautiful interior, drives nice, love the tech, doesn't feel too big for me. Would recommend 10/10.

I have had the TX just under a year and absolutely loved driving it! It’s big enough where it comfortably fits car seats, strollers, etc. with plenty of leg room for us, but also doesn’t feel like driving a bus. I love the panoramic roof, the suede/leather combo seats, and the entire exterior styling. I am averaging about 23.5 MPG so far. Really no major complaints so far, and very happy with my purchase. I like that the 3rd row only has two seats vs 3 crammed seats

I have always driven German cars (Volkswagen and Audi) before getting this Lexus so I have to start off by saying I am still looking for the luxury in this “luxury” car. I drove an Audi Q7 previously and right off the bat could feel the difference. The Q7 had the look and feel of its price tag but the TX has not convinced me yet, even a year later. I had an unsuspected seizure while driving one day so my husband wanted to make sure my next car had ALL the sensors. For safety, the TX checked all the boxes so that’s why we went with Lexus VS replacing with another Q7. The monitors will let you know if you take your eyes off the road right away, when cross traffic is coming, will brake on its own when you’re too close to the garage wall, all of it! My only gripe besides the underperformance of the 350 model is the gas mileage. It has such a small tank (14 gallons to full) for such a big car. If you’re a SAHM like me driving mostly in the city, it means more frequent trips to the gas station. We got a bench seat and recently was able to fit two adults next to a rear-facing Nuna Rava pretty comfortably. We have also had adults in the third row with no complaints. There is more than enough space with the third row down and decent space with the third row up- I’m able to fit an Uppababy Minu stroller and a small grocery haul

Love our Lexus TX! It’s so comfortable and spacious, with great tech and safety features. I especially love all the different camera angles, they make parking and maneuvering so much easier. I also love that there are cup holders, USB-C ports, and ceiling vents in the second and third rows. And the exterior looks so good! It’s just such a nice, comfortable SUV!
