Car Mom Review

The Exterior

. What's kind of fun about the new Suburban lineup is every trim has something that looks a little bit different, so by trim level you're going to have a different styling to go with the car. Suburban is the biggest full-size SUV in the lineup, about 15 inches longer than the Chevy Tahoe. Most of that space is made up for in the trunk, but she's big.

Engine Options & Towing:

The 2025 Chevrolet Suburban offers three engine options: a standard 5.3L V8 gasoline engine, an available 6.2L V8 gasoline engine, and an available 3.0L inline-six turbodiesel Duramax engine. The 5.3L V8 is for everyday driving, the 6.2L V8 offers more power, and the 3.0L diesel is the most fuel-efficient option, especially for long-distance driving.

The 2025 Chevy Suburban tows up to 8,200 pounds when properly equipped, varying slightly by engine.

First Row

Taking a look at our door panel, tons of additional storage and a nice place for cup holders. I'm loving the saddle brown leather interior as well.

They’ve also reconfigured and redesigned their center console. We have a wireless charger, along with USB and USB-C ports. Two cup holders that are nice and deep, but not that big. Driver’s comfort features are fantastic.

Infotainment

We have an 11in dash and a beautiful 17-in curved display. This is the same display we see in the Chevy Traverse and I am a big fan. We're going to have Super Cruise technology available on more trims, which is very exciting. I love the Super Cruise tech. It's Chevy's version of autonomous driving (they probably don't like that I call it that) but it's like the most autonomous you can get in 2025.

Second Row

With the captain’s chairs, you’re going to get lower anchors and tether anchors. We've got some built-in screens to the back of the headrest as well as a great panoramic sunroof and ceiling vents. I also have heated seats on this High Country trim, two HDMI cords, and two USB-C's back here as well. I've got great leg room, I mean it's a big car - like hello!

The Suburban is one of those cars where I actually feel the captain's chairs aisle is worth it. It’s a really nice open area, so you have decent third row access here. I wish this car had come with sun shades, but if you can't get sun shades my recommendation is a super dark window tint and it kind of does the same thing.

The bench is seat option has a 60/40 split with lower anchors and top tethers in every seat. The passenger side seat folds and flips independently for third row access while the driver side and center seat flip together. There is no way to access the third row with a car seat installed if that is a priority for you! If you're looking for a full size SUV with car seat tilt, check out the Ford Expedition, Lincoln Navigator, Jeep Wagoneer / L, or Nissan Armada or Infiniti QX80.

Third Row

As hardware is concerned, in the third row there are no lower anchors, but tether anchors in all seats. I have really nice leg room, so if you're going to have adults or older kids in the third row, the Chevy Suburban is really one of the best options.

We do have three seats and unlike some other of the midsize cars, the middle seat is actually a real seat. However, no middle head restraint which is really disappointing. It’s added in both the Chevy Equinox and the Chevy Traverse, so it feels like it could have been added by now. In a collision, this is going to be really dangerous and it makes the seat unusable.

Car Seat Set Up

The head restraints are not removable in the outboard positions, just like in the second row, and this can sometimes cause a compatibility issue for car seats. Otherwise they're large seats that can fit compact or larger car seats. I am able to fit a variety of seats rear or forward facing even with the second row moved back.

The Chevy Suburban is one of the few three row vehicles that can actually accommodate three across the third row. While this isn't ideal and I'd recommend tackling this alongside a CPST, it is possible with very narrow car seats.

No items found.

Trunk

When you walk to the trunk, instead of having to worry about kicking your foot or opening it up. Now, the vehicle can sense you're there and the tailgate is just going to open up automatically. This is such a cool feature because I hate kicking, I'm never kicking right, and then I look like a fool in the grocery store parking lot.

The 2025 Chevy Suburban offers massive cargo space: 41.5 cubic feet behind the third row, 93.8 cubic feet with the third row folded, and a grand total of 144.7 cubic feet with both second and third rows down, making it a class leader for hauling families and gear.

Safety

  • Automatic Emergency Braking with forward collision alert
  • Lane Keep Assist
  • Adaptive Cruise Control available with blind zone steering assist
  • HD surround vision 360 degree camera
  • Super Cruise available
  • Rear Cross Traffic Braking
  • Seat Belt Pretensioners only found in front row
  • No middle head restraint in second or third row

Car Seat Setup

Car Seat Set Up

Car seat options are endless in this spacious SUV. You can fit a bulky rotating car seat, do three across with ease, or fit comfortably as an adult next to a car seat.

Now if you're going to need third row access, utilizing a baseless car seat or leaving the second row passenger side open is the best choice. With a narrow car seat installed in the center bench position you can still flip the passenger seat forward. If you do need regular third row access, captain's chairs may be the more practical option.

Three Across:

With a narrow seat installed in the center you can fit a rotating car seat outboard or a variety of full size car seats. Using a harnessed car seat or booster seat in the center position vs. having an adult sit there is a good choice. There's no center head restraint here so whiplash in the event of a crash is a concern. Double check that the car seat or booster seat doesn't require a head restraint either-- some do! I easily installed the Chicco MyFit here and it still allowed the passenger side seat to fold and flip.

Torn between a truck and an suv the suburban is perfect. We traded in a Jeep Grand Cherokee because we didn't have the space for car seats plus a tall driver and the stroller was taking up all the trunk space. I love the drive of the suburban so much more than I was expecting, smooth and great pickup! We drive on the beach and in snow in New England, we haul a boat and the performance is amazing. I originally wanted a tahoe but I love all the extra truck space!

I love my Suburban! She’s a beast but drives like a dream. It’s beautiful on the outside and gorgeous interior and top notch technology and screen display. It has ample room in the middle seat with two captain chairs and full bench in the 3rd row. We have older kids so not using car seats anymore but occasionally will use backless boosters. I love the size and space in the trunk. It’s helpful for road trips we take often to fill with luggage or can put down back row to load bikes as well.

If you have a large family and don’t want a van, this is the car for you. Having this car makes road trips a lot more enjoyable. My kids age range from 4 to 16 and all of them are comfortable and have lots of room.

I LOVE this car for my large family. I bought the RST diesel and get about 34 miles per gallon on the highway. The shoulder room in the third room for my older kids (15,13,11) is waaaay better than in the Honda odyssey. We have the bench seat (obvi!). We for a long time has two forward facing car seats in the second row. The outboard seat folds down and flips up so older kids can get in the back and they don’t need to step on anything (🙌🏻). We recently put the forward facing 5 year old in his harness buckle diono in the third row and that’s also been great for us. I drove an odyssey for 10 years and she worked so well with my younger babies but now having a mix of ages this suburban understands the job and gets it done. Love her! And the color I get compliments on every week. There is so much talk about hybrids but the mileage on this diesel is incredible.

Got a zillion kids? This is the one. She is the moment. Stunning. I sound super cool when I start it up. Drives like a dream. Is it huge? Yes. But is it also somehow easy to drive? Also yes. Backup camera for the win and you've got this. Big booty trunk space. Cupholders for days. Haul some, haul all. Got a horse and a trailer? Me too and she can tow it no problemo. Take road trips? She can bring everything you need. I will be keeping her until 200k and then getting another one

So roomy all around. This is the first vehicle I’ve had that I can’t find a single thing I don’t still love about it after 2 years! Will definitely be in a Suburban/Tahoe for the next 15-20 years!

I have had this car for 5+ years and I love it! At this point, I can’t see myself ever driving anything smaller than this as we frequently take long road trips and need a lot of trunk space. It is very comfortable and spacious. The interior is good looking and easy to clean. The safety tech is helpful without being annoying or too much (see my other review on our 2024 Lexus GX). The infotainment system is a huge miss but this hasn’t been a huge deal for us because we did not want it originally (it came with the package) and probably wouldn’t use it much even if it were more user friendly. When we do let the kids watch a movie on a roadtrip we use a $10 Amazon holder and an iPad so that all the kids can hear it without having to connect 4 sets of Bluetooth headphones and mess with an HDMI cord. I hope newer models improve this system. The only times I believe I have had to take the car in for service (outside of routine oil changes, new tires, etc) was for an electrical issue that caused the power lift gate to stop working in the 1st year of owning the car. And then just this past week on an 8 hr road trip to the beach I got two service lights on- one to service the tire monitoring system and the other to service the driver assist system. They called yesterday to say that is will be around $800 to fix both and they have had my car for 2 days now (hence why I couldn’t take good, recent photos) which is frustrating. But I still think I have been overall happy with the reliability and will probably repurchase the suburban when the new model comes out in 2028/2029.

2023 Chevy Suburban Review from a Mom of 3 As a mom of three with all three kids in car seats, I’ve really loved my 2023 Chevy Suburban. I have the bench seat in the 2nd row, and while it works, I honestly wish I had gone with captain’s chairs. It would make getting to the 3rd row and buckling kids in so much easier. That being said, the 3rd row is one of my favorite things about this SUV. It’s surprisingly spacious and comfortable compared to other large SUVs I’ve been in, which is a huge plus with kids. The interior is nice and comfortable, although I wouldn’t consider it a luxury interior. It drives incredibly smooth, and I absolutely love the feeling of being in such a big vehicle. I expected it to be difficult to maneuver, but it’s actually surprisingly easy to park for its size. Overall, it’s been a great family vehicle. If you have multiple kids in car seats and want something big, comfortable, smooth, and easy to drive, I’d definitely recommend the Suburban!

Overall I love the suburban, we bought this car when we had 3 kids and the 4th car seat was super easy to add when we expanded our family. I do wish there were anchors in the 3rd row though. Right after purchasing we noticed the rear wheels seemed to lock up while driving. It ended up being the valve body, which was a known issue and under warranty. From experience with GM there will almost always be issues. it's not if, its when something will go wrong. Highly recommend an extended warranty and you will be golden!

We recently purchased this car, upgrading from a 2014 Audi Q5. The upgrade in space is actually insane! This car is a powerhouse and I no longer worry about being able to carry everything we need. It fits literally everything you can imagine! My daughter’s Nuna Revv looks small in the car with how spacious the second row is. My favorite part of the vehicle how large it is, making me feel comfortable about our safety. I grew up in a family that had Suburbans and they were dependable and always felt very safe. I am obsessed and thrilled with our decision for our growing family!

Rented for a ski trip weekend, no kids. I loved the drive and space of this vehicle. Interior is nice, the dash could use a little refresh. Very spacious second row. I felt comfortable driving this large of a vehicle and it handled great in the snow.

For 4young kids, all in car seats, the suburban has been great. Unfortunately, I believe we got a lemon and had a lot of issues with the engine and oil. But once those were figured out, it drives great, and has plenty of space for all the activities. Love having the big trunk and never worrying about if we have enough space to transport anything. We have the captain seats and those have worked well for the older kids to be able to walk back and buckle themselves up. We also have two dogs and we’re able to easily transport them anywhere. On some of the very hot days in the summer, the entertainment system glitches but recovers. We definitely did not buy it to save money on gas. Rotating car seats in the captain chairs have also been very helpful. On the occasions we have had to put many adults in the car, with the car seats removed, it has worked out great and everyone is very comfortable.

Absolutely love the trunk space, plenty of room for a Wonderfold wagon, large Sam’s haul, sports stuff, animal feed and more! We are a family of five so the biggest suv with the diesel engine is amazing for cargo, people and fuel mileage!

She's a Chevy Suburban, a land yacht supreme, with three rows of seating and a gas bill obscene. She carries the groceries, the strollers, the snacks, four kids in carseats, and several backpacks. She drinks gasoline on her 70-mile commute, kids no longer in tow, which makes the point moot. At times you may miss your snazzy Traverse; remind yourself, however, it could be much worse. Remember the reason you wanted the max: to keep us all safer, to help you relax. More space for your family, more steel as a barrier, no longer the need for your Thule rooftop carrier. We're missing a headrest, a couple more latches - listen to us, Chevy, and you may meet your matches. Care creates contentment, we're grateful to have her. She contains all our chaos and helps us to gather.

We rented this car while visiting family with my husband and two young kids. My husband loved this car and went home wanting to buy one. It was very comfortable, surprisingly good on gas, and had more room than we needed for our family and copious amounts of luggage. I found the car to be comfortable and drove nicely but was just way bigger than what I would want to drive around regularly.

We had our Suburban for 5 years. It had tons of space, we grew from one to three children with no issues on space. We’d take frequent 5hr drives and easily fit all of our stuff. It was a challenge for my 5 year old to open the doors since they were tall and heavy. The tech was fine. The driver tech worked well with no issues. We got the rear seat screens but never used them. Figuring out how to plug in another device or use the paid internet was too much work. It also took up space with rear facing car seats. iPads worked just as well. There weren’t many extra tech features, we had the Z71 and it felt very basic compared to other cars. We sold it due to reliability issues. We experienced many issues after 60k miles that were costing thousands to repair and weren’t common issues. I wondered if the COVID supply chain issues were impacting it. We decided to cut our loses and not risk a full engine replacement and sold it.

My 2025 suburban has been a great vehicle for driving 3 kids ages 7, 5, and 3! Living in northern MN I feel safe driving on winter road conditions yet still am able to haul almost anything needed throughout my kids activities! My kids have PLENTY of room in the second and third row! It’s a large vehicle but I don’t feel like I’m driving a bus!!

Being a travelling family with 5 kids, we knew we needed something to fit us comfortably. The suburban has not disappointed. I love that we have 2 benches so we still have an open seat to take grandma with. The drive is smooth. The leg room is phenomenal and everyone is happier than ever.

The pros- great car for a large family. The trunk space is like no other. Can fit a double stroller along with a Costco haul. You have great visibility being up so high. The only con I have is sometimes the technology can be glitchy where the radio volume all of a sudden doesn’t work until restarting the vehicle.

I had this car for about 5.5 years. It was a great car for the first five years and then started having multiple issues. It was a COVID build and was missing some chip features that had to be installed later (park assist, etc.). We started having transmission issues after about 4.5 years, and they got progressively worse leading us to sell the car. I believe this was an issue with Chevrolet Tahoes and Suburbans of this year model. Another weird thing: the inside sun shades scratched holes in the ceiling liner above the driver's window due to poor design. The rear A.C. sometimes decided not to cool and the second row AC vents closed when pointed towards the passenger's face and blew perfectly when faced towards the back of the first-row passengers' heads (like they were installed backwards). Also, the running boards weren't deep enough, were rounded, and were slick, causing kids to slip out of the car multiple times.

I loved the size as far as trunk space and space for passengers. The interior felt a little cheap and I didn’t love the tech-It didn’t feel like it made my experience driving easier. I was also extremely nervous with the location of the shifter and the other buttons. I like more separation from throwing a car in park and turning on the ac/music.

PROS: I love the look of the Z71, and it drives very well for a large vehicle. The cameras are very clear, and it has the option to show passengers in the back on the large display screen. It also has an automatic parking feature, but I haven't used it. As with all Suburbans, storage in the trunk is very large and the installed mats cover the backs of the third row so they are protected when folded down. The installed floor mats fit beautifully and much better than the WeatherTech mats I had in my 2022 Suburban. It also has Adaptive Cruise Control which makes road trips much easier. CONS: The sliding center console top has come loose from putting forward pressure on it while adjusting in my seat. (Chevrolet is aware of the issue, and there is an easy fix that the dealership can perform.) One of the second-row seats does not fold with the wall button, so I will be getting that fixed while it is still under warranty. The entertainment screens for the second row only allow for YouTube and a few others which limits screen usage if you don't have a USB drive. Overall, I've been VERY happy with the Suburban!

This vehicle is gorgeous and fun to drive and ride in. The seats are huge and car seat setup is good. The issue is accessing the third row with 3 kids in car seats in the middle row and two kids in car seats in the 3rd row. As much as I love the look and space, I’d take my Odyssey for a daily driver any day.

Love love love this big vehicle. There is room for all the passengers. The biggest problem in this vehicle is the room! The downfall is the price tag, but hey if that's not an issue a suburban is the way to go! This vehicle is older now so technology is more flashy now. However it still can do everything you need to get you from point a to z. Even with all the seats up there is still so much truck space.

We have three young boys, and frequently help carpool others. We spend hours in the car each day with after school activities. We hit a point where we really needed more space. Knowing the boys and their gear would only keep growing, it made sense to go ahead and move into a car that will work for us for a long time. We looked at all different ages of vehicles, from used to new. Unfortunately for a buyer- suburbans hold their value incredibly well. We found an end of year discounted DIESEL model. I initially did not want to go look at it because it was a diesel… But the dealership was offering a really great price for it. One test drive and I was sold. The interior cabin is beautiful yet sturdy. It has an incredible amount of space. Second row seating more than comfortable for adults. Third row plenty of space too. Trunk large enough for our two cart Costco runs. Quiet cabin, gorgeous sun roof. But quite possibly my favorite feature? That Diesel engine. I had no idea that diesel engines get better miles to the gallon than a typical gas engine. The suburban already has a hefty 28 gallon tank. We do city driving in Dallas, and average around 28-30 miles to the gallon. One tank can last me, driving daily and frequently across town, nearly 3 weeks. We drove from Dallas to Orlando and only needed to fill up 3 times. Diesel may be more expensive, looking as the price per gallon at the gas station, but we are spending just over one half the amount on gas monthly driving the suburban than we did driving an Acura MDX. Room for three growing boys, great space for family road trips, new diesel engine that has extended warranty compared to regular engines, we love this car and are so glad for our “mobile workspace” that we will enjoy for years to come!

I have 3 kids 3 and under, all in car seats and love the Suburban! I have bucket seats, so I keep 2 car seats in the 3rd row for my twins (forward facing) and my baby in a bucket seat. We keep the extra bucket seat folded down for easy access to the 3rd row. We have no complaints on the amount of space and love the amount of trunk space! Would definitely recommend this car!

We were considering both a Suburban and an Expedition when we were pregnant with our twins babies number 4 and 5. We were about to have 5 kids in car seats. After only a short time in the Expedition we took a look at the Suburban and although I knew the Ford would work better for what we needed my husband grew up in a Chevy family and still wanted to give the suburban a chance. The back seat was so much tighter than the Expedition. We wanted to have the option to put all 3 of our big kids in the 3rd row on road trips so I could sit between the babies. It’s a tight fit even with Graco3LX car seats but they do fit in the Expedition! Not possible in the Suburban. Plus getting into the 3rd row would’ve been a pain without the car seat tilt. We bought the Expedition and have never regretted it. Maybe when our kids are bigger and we aren’t as reliant on car seat compatibility we’ll give the Suburban another shot. But for now we’re loving our Expedition! The exterior on the Suburban I do prefer though!

Our 2023 Z71 Suburban (5.3L V8 engine) has been reliable, comfortable, and very functional for our family of 6 since day one. We have captains chairs that have made getting to the 3rd row very easy. I am 5’1” tall and have never had an issue driving or parking. The cameras that are standard in this model are amazing and I’d definitely hit things if those were not included. I find this Suburban to have a very comfortable ride & great maneuverability despite the extended wheel base. It also gets up & goes on highways and inclines very well for its size. We take yearly 13+ hour road trips in it—it has plenty of cargo space, comfortable interior for lots of people including my 6’3” husband and zero mechanical or software issues on those long trips. I feel very safe on the road in this car. I’d recommend it to other large families in a heartbeat. P.S. We did make the right choice getting the 5.3 liter engine as the 6.8 liter engines have had lots of issues & recalls! Dodged a bullet with that!

Absolutely love my Suburban! We were rear ended while stopped at a red light by someone going at least 50 mph, and thankfully, we all walked away uninjured. I’ve never felt safer in a vehicle. I also love how spacious it is, especially the huge trunk with plenty of room for everything our family needs.

The suburban is an incredible car. I could win the lottery and would still want to drive my car. It’s extremely spacious throughout the whole car. I have 2 captain seats and it’s worked out great for my kids who are 4 and 6 currently. When traveling, our large yellow lab loves to lay in between the captain seats aisle. We often have family ride with us in the 3rd row and they never complain of leg room. My suburban has leather and a sunroof. The sunroof makes a huge difference in my opinion. I love having it open. It gives such a spacious feel. There are plenty go cup holders. My only complaint on the suburban is the technology is basic. Chevy’s technology isn’t over the top in my opinion. The trunk space is absolutely great. I never have to put the 3rd row down. Costco runs fit great even with our wagon. Highly recommend the suburban as a XL family car!

I have the 5.3l v8 z71 trim with the captains chairs. I really love it I bought it in 2024 with only 30,000 miles on it. The family before only used it for sports and road trips. I have so much space in the back for my dog crate and bob stroller plus a Costco run. It’s a fan favorite for field trips. I love my captains chairs just wish they would move front and back to allow more leg room in the third row. Also wish the third row had a middle headrest. Gave the exterior a lower rating because it is dated a bit when compared to the current body style. But overall I love it and I secretly don’t want the newer version, yet.

Buy the suburban! This is a 2022 Suburban Premier and I am in love with it! After driving a Traverse for several years we were looking to go bigger with 3 growing boys! I had been looking at Expeditions and somewhat considered a Navigator. This was a pretty impulsive/spontaneous purchase but we immediately were so happy! The trunk space is to die for, the automatic fold down seats from the rear are so helpful, we love the interior, and the technology is great! The space for our boys (12, 5, and 3) is perfect and everyone is comfortable! The center console moves back which provides another area while at the same time moving the back console cup holders closer to rear passengers. My husband loves driving it as well because of the engine 😜 I wish I would have considered the suburban sooner!

Love this car. It’s sporty looking, has tons of room and we are able to pickup friends or drive to the airport with my parents in tow + a trunk full of luggage. I wanted a giant people mover and I am NOT a minivan mom. We looked at a suburban, Yukon xl and briefly at the expedition max, navigator and Escalade. This had everything I wanted plus leather mats and 4k miles being driven by a dealership owner so the deal felt like a bonus. Previously I’ve driven 2 Lexus GX’s and wanted more room and a little more tech. When the kids are grown I anticipate downsizing to a luxury midsize suv like an X5 or X7. I love a big boxy vehicle. The suburban felt huge to drive at first but I quickly got used to it and love never second guessing my space capabilities. Also team captains chairs all day everyday. I wanted to keep the third row up with max trunk space. Might be niche with only having two kids but I love a big car.

This car is amazing for a mom of 3. I have the captains chairs and it is perfect for my family. My older kids can access the back easily and it’s great for quick in and out at the school drop off line

Spacious car with room for all your kids gear. Spacious with rear facing car seats in second row for other kids to get around. 3rd row has plenty of space for adults and trunk space isn’t limited even with 3rd row up. You definitely can tell the size difference between this model and the Tahoe in trunk space. For sports activities and road trips, the extra room is much appreciated. Overall, love our suburban and feel it’s the right choice for our family.

As a mom of 3 littles I absolutely love my Suburban! This is actually my 2nd Suburban because I loved my last one so much. I will say my first suburban had the bench middle row and my new one has bucket seats, and unpopular opinion, I love the buckets seats so much more for ease of getting in and out of the 3rd row, which we use daily. The suburban (z71) handles so well and the ride is very smooth. The technology is great, it has cabin glance now and you are able to watch shows and movies on the front screen when parked. I feel the suburban is the ultimate big family car and can grow with your family for years and years.

I really love my 2021 Chevy Suburban Z71. It has been the perfect vehicle for our family of five, plus our medium-sized dog. We also haul kids around for volleyball A LOT, so I really appreciate having all the space. I can fit everyone and all their stuff without feeling like we’re packed in. I also really like the technology in it. It has everything I need, but it doesn’t feel like there is just too much technology going on. The interior was also a big selling point for me. It feels so much nicer than some of the other full-size SUVs we looked at, and it still feels practical and comfortable for everyday family life. My biggest complaint would probably be the headrests. Other than that, I honestly wouldn’t change much about this vehicle. It works really well for our family and our crazy, busy life, especially with how much driving and hauling kids we do. I would definitely buy another Suburban!

Fits the whole crew and a double stroller. Back seats down and you have room for one large Sam’s Club haul! I have the premier diesel and my fuel mileage is on point no complaints there. A little pricey to fill up but a tank of gas lasts me a few round trips compared to my old Acadia. My kids love the magic school bus as they call it and all the space for road trips.

As a mom with 3 kids (5 and under), the suburban has been a game changer for us. I previously had a Rivian, which I loved, but space quickly became an issue. We ended up getting one with captains chairs. My 3 and 5 year olds sit in forward facing carseats in the third row, while the 1 year old is rear facing in one of the captains chairs. I love this setup because it leaves one of the captains chairs open for easy third row access, a free seat for nursing or diaper changing when out running errands, or extra space for an adult. I don't mind driving a large vehicle. The size allows for everyone to be comfortable, while also giving me the ability to leave my double stroller in the trunk and still have room for groceries. They also just did a software update that incorporates "Cabin Glance" so you can see your kids on the front screen without needing to turn around. Overall, while not the more tech forward or performance based car, it is a great family car if you aren't into the minivan life!

Okay ladies… an OLDIE BUT A GOODIE!!! 🎀🚙✨ I LOVE my Suburban SO much. Like… this girl may have a few years on her, but she is still ✨that girl✨. I have the LTZ (which is basically the OG version of today’s Premium), and she is LOADED. We’re talking lower anchors, tethers, removable headrests, ceiling vents AND actual legroom for adults in the third row. Like, c’mon!!! 😂👏🏼 So let’s talk car seat setup, because this is where she REALLY shines for our family. My 4-year-old rides in a Graco Transitions in the third row, and one of my favorite little details is that the seatbelt hardware/anchor placement makes the belt easy for him to reach and buckle himself — no digging down beside the seat or fishing around for a buried seatbelt. 🙌🏼 My daughter is in a Joie Chili Spin 360 behind the driver in the second row, and there is STILL plenty of room for my almost-6-foot husband to drive comfortably without having his knees in the dashboard. 😂👏🏼 That is a MOM WIN. Kids get their space, Dad gets his space, and nobody is playing human Tetris. We have the captain’s chairs and I truly LOVE them. So easy with kids and still leaves plenty of room to move around. And the rear entertainment?! TWO DVD/Blu-ray players with headphones so the kids can have their movie time without Mom and Dad listening to the same movie for the 700th time. 🙌🏼😂 The infotainment is honestly impressive for an “old” girl, too! We have Apple CarPlay, but Chevy MyLink is actually great if you aren’t a CarPlay girlie. And then the little luxuries… 😮‍💨 Heated AND cooled seats ✔️ Heated steering wheel ✔️ Rain-sense wipers ✔️ Valet mode ✔️ Ceiling vents ✔️ THIRD-ROW ADULT LEGROOM ✔️✔️✔️ I mean… you name it, this girl has it. 🎀 She may not be the newest girl on the lot, but she is dependable, spacious, ridiculously comfortable, and has EVERYTHING my family needs. Sometimes the best girl in the room is the one who’s been around a little longer. 💅🏼🚙💕 - Forever a Suburban girlie. 🫶🏼

We love this car for our family of 3 (almost 4!) kids and a dog. We take long road trips twice a year and rely on a roof rack to keep everyone, dog and kids included, safe and comfortable. A few small tweaks would make it perfect: a split tailgate (I rarely remember the window opens separately before popping the full trunk), Latch anchors in the third row, a tilt feature for the second-row car seats, and built-in sunshades. With those additions, this would truly be the perfect family car. But even without it a very nice car to drive.

I purchased this car because we needed a vehicle to tow our trailer but didn’t want a truck. I work from home so gas millage was not a factor. It was between this or an expedition but ultimately decided on the suburban because the tech was better and it had less miles. I love how spacious it is because my kids are older and we go to the beach a lot and with the 3rd row up we can fit everything we need in the trunk. I have had some reliability issues such as some computer/tech issues. Some not a big deal like the apply car play connection, but some much more dangerous like the windshield wipers not working when I tried to turn on in the rain. While it does have close to 100k miles, it seems to be burning oil as I get regular oil changes but after an about a thousand miles, I get an alert to add oil. Recently the air conditioning doesn’t seem very efficient. Some times it works great and other times it doesn’t work at all. Other than these issues, I love the looks, the comfort and tech features. I especially love the 360 cameras and probably couldn’t park without it lol.

(I have the premium trim level) It has a pretty exterior. (Nothing flashy but looks good). I like this body style. Interior has good sturdy leather. I have the captains chairs. (No car seat tilt). Nothing fancy tech wise but does have CarPlay. Idk about gas mileage, because I haven’t had to be concerned about that. 5 children fit comfortably in a Suburban. At one point I did have 4 in car seats and one in a booster. So that is tricky to get to the third row with car seats in the captains chairs. There are no latches in the third row but there are tether anchors. The extra work to buckle in children in the third row wasn’t a deal breaker for me. FANTASTIC trunk space!!! I had a Tahoe before this (for 10 years) and the suburban does drive more like a truck than the Tahoe did. Our Chevrolet’s have been wonderful cars, and we keep them for 10 plus years until we get a new one. So far, no trouble with the 2022 suburban. Great mom car if you don’t mind the lack of car seat tilt and no middle head rest in third row. Also, sitting higher up in an SUV vs a van was a big plus for me.

We have used the Suburban with 2 kids in FF seats and now have an infant seat as well as one FF in the captain chairs and our oldest in the back FF. It has been such a functional car for us and we love everything about it. I was torn on bench or chairs and now am so glad I have the chairs with the pass through for my oldest and makes it easy for me to jump in the back to sit next to him if I need to help the baby or the kids with anything! We have had my MIL to stay and my SIL and her 2 kids and have easily been able to fit everyone in the car with visitors as well as pack the trunk! So much space and I would find it hard to ever downsize now. I was worried about driving a larger vehicle like this, but it drives smoothly and I am very used to parking it and don't think twice about it now. Definitely recommend if you are in a similar stage to what I am! We have liked the functionality of the Chevrolet app also, much better than the Mazda app we had previously. The remote start works great. One thing I don't love is the 15 minute auto shut off once you have parked, but just something to be mindful of. The cameras and navigation in the car have worked really well also, I like the larger dash screen that is in the 2025 models and newer!

The space of this vehicle is amazing. Two of my family members own this vehicle and when family comes to visit we are loading it with 4 car seats and 4 adults easily. The drive doesn’t feel as smooth as a mid size SUV or truck, and I don’t find the seats as comfortable.

We got the Chevy suburban premier right before my 4th child was born. At the time my oldest was 6 and he had special needs and needed a wheel chair. We had/have 4 kids in car seats and we love the suburban. The trunk space is perfect for my son’s chair and more things or double stroller. I liked the drive of the suburban more than the expedition max. It doesn’t feel as much like a truck. The technology is great without being too much. The one thing is wish I could change is I don’t love the tv a on the back of the head rest. I feel like they take up space and my kids try ti turn the tv on when I don’t want them too. I can control them from the front but it can be a battle between me and the kids sometimes. Overall we love the suburban.

I have a second row bench which has been a 3 across car seat machine. I had two rear facing britax boulevards and a britax frontier high back booster all safely installed across the third row bench. Third row access is limited to the trunk with the car seats installed. The long wheelbase makes it drive like a boat and can be a challenge to park. Has been incredibly reliable for me only issue iv had outside normal wear and tear is one window motor has stopped working. Putting our three kids across the second row allowed us to put the third row down and haul incredible amounts of cargo for long car trips. Now that I’m out of the pack and play and double stroller era I find myself wishing for a shorter wheel base

We love our Suburban because it can haul our large family and all the sports equipment we need to haul around for baseball tournaments. I hope that Chevy and GMC will fix the lack of middle seat head restraints in future models, but that is really the only complaint I have about this vehicle. It gives us a smooth and comfortable ride with plenty of room for all of us. We have our 5th kid on the way and I do think we will need a cargo carrier when we need to bring a stroller along, but in any other vehicle we would already be in that situation. We had an expedition max in between Suburbans and the cargo space does not begin to compare.

I bought a brand new 2021 suburban to have as our family car. While I think the Suburban is very stylish on the exterior, the interior felt very plasticy and cheap. I did like that when you went from reverse to drive, it would show the front camera, which my current vehicle does not do. Reliability was majorly lacking in the Suburban making it my one and only Chevy that I will ever own. We had so many electrical issues as well as engine issues. This vehicle left me stranded with my kids on the side of the road. The back hatch also got stuck up or would open on its own on many occasions. I cannot recommend this vehicle due to the lack of reliability. It looks pretty and has good space but that’s all

This car works wonderful for our family of 4. A Tahoe would probably be a better fit for the size of our family and will be considered for our next vehicle, but functions well for us now! My two complaints: 1. I have to use the screen to access the read climate control. 2. This isn’t the case in all Suburbans, (I have a Premier, and it may be standard in that trim level?) but my center console moves backwards to allow the rear passengers closer access to cupholders. If my kids were older, this would be nice. However, both of my kids have their own cupholders in their car seats, so we don’t use this feature. The center console is probably 1/2 to 1/3 of the size of a normal stationary console, and I would rather have that space for storage instead of as a party trick that I never use!

Just recently got this car and have loved everything about it. The tech is helpful for parking it because it is very large but it’s so comfy and easy to drive. Will have to monitor for reliability that can be an issue in these larger cars since this is new.
