This car is great for a family of 4! The second row has a good amount of space. The only problem I have with the second row is no ceiling vents and I have 2 rotating car seats that cannot be turned fully sideways at the same time. The trunk space is decent, but at times I wish it was bigger.

It’s very easy to install car seats. The latches are easy to locate and use. The trunk space is my favorite feature of this vehicle; very spacious and easy to open and close.

This car is great for a smaller family with one or two kids. It is a nice size for doing all your mom tasks- school pickup line, store parking lots, etc. but big enough that you don’t feel cramped. Trunk space is very good! I will say, once four people are in the car (two adults in the front) it starts to feel a little crowded. The second row has three seats, but with one carseat installed you pretty much lose the small middle seat. There are small vents on the back of the center console, which is not as good as ceiling vents but better than no air flow at all in the second row. I bought this car new in 2020 (LT trim) with the comfort and convenience package, which includes a power lift gate and I use it all the time! Love that feature. There are a good amount of safety features which I think would make this a great car for a teen driver. I’m hoping my son can drive it in 5 years as his first car!

This was my third Equinox. Love the size by my family outgrew it. This model specifically, the radio and tech wouldn't always work. That was the biggest issue we had, it was very inconsistent.

Overall it’s a great car. Trunk space is pretty limited, I have a Graco bassinet stroller and trunk caddy which takes up most of the trunk. Backseat fits the car seat well with space. My passengers tend to call the seats uncomfortable after longer periods of time in the car. Love the heated seats and panoramic sunroof.

I recently purchased my 2026 Equinox Activ and love it. It is a lot more roomy than I anticipated. I have one 4 year old, and his rotating car seat fits in the back row with no problem. The trunk space is more than enough for a large grocery haul. I love the technology and screens. The heated/ cooling seats are a great addition. The only con that I have so far is the sound system— it’s definitely not the best.

I use this as a commuter car and my two boys ride in it back and forth to school and around town. Love the EV technology. There is poor visibility, especially when parking but the 360 camera helps. The 2nd row has lots of room. I wish it had apple car play. We lease the car but I would definitely not buy it after this.

This car has been amazing for us and never given us any major mechanical issues. Purchased it way before having kids and it’s been great for the first two (twins). It has the perfect amount of tech so it isn’t complicated but has all the bells and whistles you’d want. Only complaint would be space. I have twins and several times I’ve needed more cargo space for pack n plays, strollers, or road trip luggage. Leg room for the driver (husband is 6’4”) was tight when they were rear facing but no issue since turning them forward. Great car for 1-2 kids, especially for a family that doesn’t road trip often.

This car has been nothing but great for our growing family. We currently have 2 little boys in car seats, with no complaints regarding space for 2 in the second row. The trunk is large and can easily fit a collapsed stroller plus other items. Larger vents for the backseat would be one of my biggest requests. Without car seats, leg room is a little snug for taller people in the second row too.

Although it gets the job done with two rear facing car seats, the leg room sucks. We have a baseless infant seat which does help. Overrall it’s just okay, gets my family around safely

Perfect car for two kids! Can squeeze two boosters and a car seat in when needed. Great trunk space for weekend getaways (not camping!). Simple/basic technology- easy to use! Has all the safety features. Compact yet spacious. I love it (just wish I had the newer body style ;-))

I love this car and the way it drives. It feels like the same zippiness I loved about my Honda civic but fits our family of 3 perfectly and have been able to fit a surprising amount of stuff in this car as we take 6+ hour road trips with a baby frequently. I have been so impressed with the technology and love all of the cameras and sensors and it’s now hard to drive cars without them. We had one scary reliability issue where the engine stopped working on the interstate because a tube to the turbo collapsed at 30k miles. We were safe and got the car to the dealership and Chevy made it right fixing it completely free and providing us with a brand new equinox to drive in the meantime. Overall we have loved this car and will be sad when our family out grows it.

Comfort for driver and great for 2 under 2. Bi weekly trips to the lake with a dog and all the baby/toddler gear works for us. Passenger seat isn’t comfortable but when we only had 1 kid back seat was comfortable. Haven’t been able to complain about the gas mileage for a suv. The leather seats are great for the kids with spills. Also has heated and cooling seats. I don’t think I can get another car without both options.

Had for a week as a rental car with a family of 3. It worked great for that purpose! Sportier drive, love the interior styling with the larger screen and still has functional buttons for ac controls! The backseat was a little tight compared to my Ford Edge.

Mechanics have told me this model is known for burning oil like crazy. It’s a well known problem, and mine was no different. I have to add a container of oil at least to me a week or it’ll be bone dry. Not from leaking at all, just from burning it up!

I really like the car however it does feel quite tight in the back seat with a booster and car seat. This specific model and year also has some tech. Glitches with the display screen. If you drive for more than an hour it freezes and reboots at random.

I loved my 2018 Equinox. I had a premier trim which had great features and interior. The trunk space was great in it and was perfect for our family of 3. When we had our 2nd child, it became too small and an adult could not sit in between the 2 car seats. It also was tight in the passenger seat with a car seat behind it as the passenger seat had to be slid up quite a ways. I only had a FWD one which did not do well in the snow. I had zero issues with mine and was a reliable car. I would still have it if it was a big enough for a family of 4. Would recommend it for a family of 3!

This was the first car I purchased on my own. I have loved this car and it has driven with me across the country, but has also needed a lot of work. It fits compact car seats well on the bench seat (Graco slimfit and Britax poplar). One major critique I have is the second row does not have vents. This car has served me well, but I don’t know that I would recommend it for a family larger than 4 people.

This car is the perfect mix of sporty and cute! I drive everyday for my job, so gas mileage is important, but I also needed an upgrade in space from my subcompact SUV now that we have a car seat. I have no interest in driving a full size SUV so that made this cars price and size the perfect choice for our family. It’s treated us very well so far. As with every GM turbo engine, maintenance on these cars is very important for longevity. Road jangling and cabin noise are also great in this car!

I had this car for over a week while my expedition was in the shop I really enjoyed it for a mid size SUV. I got a GREAT latch install with a Chico Myfit. Backseat is small but it worked for only one kid. I loved that the auto off could be turned off and would STAY off. I enjoyed all the storage in the front. The shifter took a little getting used to and I felt like the volume knob was in an odd spot. Trunk space is great. My husband (who is 6’2) did not like the car but he is a bigger guy and I could definitely understand why he didn’t like it. At 5’2 it was my size of car but with how much my husband drives my car it isn’t a good fit for us Overall it’s a good car, I just prefer a full size SUV for our lifestyle. We have a three year old, a baby on the way, and three dogs.

I do like my car, but I wouldn’t say that I love it. The trunk space is great and the second row is roomy. I would love to feel like I have even more room and features in my next car!

We leased this car when I found out I was pregnant in 2023! I was driving a 1999 Acura and 2008 Honda before and needed something a little newer and more reliable. I am a nanny and needed to start driving my own car as well as the family I nannied for was getting rid of their extra car. Settled on the Equinox because it was a decent monthly payment with my husbands GM discount we had at the time. Has served me well with only having one child of my own. But I have been able to fit 3 car seats in the back comfortably (2 Graco Slimfit 3LX, one rear facing/one forward facing, and one Graco booster seat). I haven’t had any major problems with the car itself. Had to take it in for one infotainment issue the first year which they just replaced the infotainment system for me. Every so often it glitches but I don’t know if that’s the car or just the Apple CarPlay connection. Drives well, handles well in the Michigan winters. I could fit my Bombi single stroller, Bombi wagon, a yeti cooler and a bunch of luggage/bags for a weekend trip in the trunk! If I didn’t plan on having more kids and have to drive multiple other children multiple times a week, I would consider getting another Equinox!

I love my Chevy Equinox! The trunk has amazing space, with a hidden compartment that I keep spare shoes, spare clothes, blanket, etc in. My husband and I are both tall(ish), he is 6’1” and I’m 5’9” and we can fit comfortably in all seating, with plenty of legroom. For being a 2019, the technology is pretty good! I have had ZERO mechanical issues in the almost 8 years I’ve owned it and do not plan of giving it up any time soon, even if I get a new car.

I have had such a great experience driving the Chevy equinox over the past 7 years. I bought it while I was pregnant with my first, it is a great small sized suv for one or two kids! The trunk space is generous-easily fits a stroller and I can stack groceries on top/ around it with no major issues. It’s super comfortable and the dash layout and Chevy infotainment system is really great! I have the highest trim level so while it’s a smaller and less pricey suv I find it actually much nicer interior than some of the upgraded or larger brands/models with heated and cooled seats, pano sunroof, all the safety sensors and surround view cam etc! I had a baby recently and moved my now 7 yr old to a booster and have the baby in a Britax galaxy 360 and the middle seat is still spacious enough for an average sized adult! I haven’t had a single issue with the car or tech in 6 years and plan to drive this for many more years to come!

Great for two kids or less. Currently, have three kids, two FF in Graco slim fit lx , one in Graco go max. We also were able to fit a 80lb. Lab in the middle seat prior to having three kids. Trunk is plenty big for Costco runs. Can also fit a mockingbird double stroller or big wagon.

I owned this car when I had two kids. I loved that it performed well, especially in a snowy climate. It was comfortable with enough trunk space for my double stroller or (wheels off) stroller wagon. I would recommend a more compact car seat behind the driver for better first row legroom, but overall it could fit bulky car seats pretty well. I was not able to do three across in this car or sit in the middle between car seats. It also didn't have a middle head restraint, but the center seat was sort of useless anyway. I liked this car a lot for 1-2 kids and would buy it again for a 4 person family!
