2025 Tesla Model Y

I am a person who gets a new vehicle every year. This is the first car in a long time I haven't been looking for another. The over the air updates are nice and keep technology fresh. We travel a lot and the charging network is plenty. Backseat is spacious and frunk + trunk gives ample amount of room for storage.

We loved the drive of the Tesla: it was super speedy and easy to zoom in and out of traffic. The back seat had tons of leg room even for our tall teenager. Overall the large screen and technology was nice, but there were a few annoying features. Also everything is control via the screen, and that is very annoying when you are driving. Turning on the wipers makes the scroll knob temporarily control the wiper speed, instead of the radio volume. That was a definite design flaw. I hated controlling the vent direction and speed from the screen. In the end, we grew very tired of the charging especially on road trips. It just added such a long time to that overall trip time.

The self driving is insane. Literally a new world when you have kids! it gives such peace of mind that the tech is helping you drive while a baby /toddler is screaming in the back. It's also so comfy in the back row - spent many road trips beside my kid and it was so comfy! I can't believe we got white interior but it has honestly been such a nice add on in the hot summers. I can't explain how amazing it is to heat up and cool down the car in MINUTES from extreme temps with a kid in tow from. your phone.

We have older children ages 10, 8 and 5. Only our youngest is in a backless booster seat, so I can’t speak to a multi car seat set up, but overall it fits our family of 5 great! The trunk space is amazing, it feels spacious while also easy to zip around in. The Tesla technology is next level. This is technically my husband’s car (I drive a 2018 Chevrolet Traverse) but I find myself driving his car any chance I get! Wouldn’t choose this on a cross country road trip since we have a larger SUV for traveling, but for daily use and day trips we are obsessed with it. My boy’s favorite feature is the fart noises of course!

2025 Model Y (not juniper) with 3rd row seating. This is our second Tesla. My husband has a model 3 since 2023. I traded in my 2014 pathfinder (which needed more work than we were willing to put in) for the model Y. We have 2 middle school aged boys with all the sports and bags, and one Doberman pinscher dog. We participate in carpool for school and sports. We travel to a cabin once a month for the weekend and have plenty of space to pack the dog, a cooler, bags, things for activities. Is it the best looking car out there, no but there are waaay worse ones. My ONLY complaint is there are no vents for the 3rd row (let’s be honest, the dog in the back.) charging took about 6 months to get the hang of. After a year, we decide to put in a Tesla charger at our house. Go test drive one, it is life changing!

The Tesla model Y has been great family car! We have a front facing clek foonf on one side and britax click tight high back booster on the other. My children can easily buckle the seatbelt themselves using the booster which is a plus. I gave a less than 5 star review for the second row based on the fact that when I have 2 car seats installed there is not room for a 3rd person to sit in the middle comfortably. The car cools down extraordinarily fast. It has a feature that turns on the ac in the car when it reaches a certain temperature when you are not in the car to avoid it getting too hot if you choose. The technology is amazing once you get used to the screen and the self driving is top notch. There is plenty of storage including the trunk, lower storage in the trunk as well as the frunk. The car drives well and is fast! It is fun to drive. Additionally, for those wondering about charging it is so easy! We use the regular wall plug at home over night and it works great. Although, we will be installing the tesla wall plug soon since we have been driving more. If we go on a longer trip the superchargers are easy to use and it doesn’t take as long to charge as you may think. Most of the time it is a 10-15 charge time which is just enough time to go inside to the restroom and get some snacks. Overall, it has been a great car with 2 children.

My husband bought this car in February. He loves the full self driving and even gives me a frown when we take my car and he has to actually drive the vehicle. As a passenger princess my biggest gripe is there's not a handle to hold onto in the ceiling, because apparently I've gone to reach for it on multiple occasions and it disappointed every time. Other than that a great car and stylish.

We have had a great experience with the Tesla Model Y with our three kids. It was comfortable, practical, and had plenty of room for our family and all our everyday gear. The performance was also impressive, it was quick, smooth, and fun to drive while still being great for everyday family use. Overall, it was a great combination of comfort, performance, and practicality for a family of five.
