Super niche review but here we go. I took over driving my husbands brand new 2021 Ram 1500 five years ago. I was really nervous at first because hello parking a truck is so intimidating but now I can truly say this truck has been such a perfect fit for my family and our needs. 1- we do home remodels for our small business so I am constantly dropping off materials on job sites. Therefore, a truck bed is needed. 2- we have two little girls and my husband’s work hours are all over the place , so if I was out late running errands (by myself and the girls) I immediately felt safer driving a truck vs a more mom car style (felt less of a target if that makes any sense). 3- this truck is loaded *remote start (a must for us living in the south) *full moon roof (one of my personal favorites in a vehicle) * the control buttons and where they are placed are AMAZING! The touch screen and all the tech are so balanced in the way that is not overwhelming but it just enough to make it seem techie. *the weather report on this truck is more reliable than all the weather apps on my phone. * the ram boxes are an amazing thing to have to store extra pjs, swim gear or anything you might need but don’t want to store inside the truck. I also used them for my target pick up orders super convenient 3- We travel a lot and the interior cargo space is so massive 4- driver seats are very comfortable. 5- The way it drives in bad weather (bad rain)🤌 chef kiss. So sturdy and does not get thrown all over the road. Anyways hopefully this helps anyone who might be in the market for driving a truck with two young kids lol. Thank you car mom for giving us moms a platform to give our reviews a home 💙

Fits both kids very comfortably. The truck is lifted so we opted for the evenflo revolve 360 car seats for convenience because in the winter it’s a lot easier to put them in the truck with the seat facing outward and then after I “toss” them in I can step up onto the step to buckle them and not risk slipping and falling carrying them for that part

This was my husbands car until our 3rd child was born and then it became my new ride! I loved the truck because it suddenly felt like we had so much room compared to our other much smalled SUV. I had 2 nuna rava FF carseats and also used a nuna pippa infant seat. None of these carseats are slim but they fit easily. My favorite part was that I could climb into the truck cab, sit on the huge middle console between the drivers seat and passengers seat, and buckle my kids in. The downside of a truck and being a mom was not having a true trunk. It wasn't ideal to load everything into a truck bed.

We bought this truck used 4 years ago and it’s been in the shop at least once every year since then. If it’s not one thing it is the other. When it is functioning properly it was comfortable for our family of four, but since we’ve added one more it’s a bit tight but still works with three across (crew cab). We get 16 mpg city and 25 mpg highway.

IF YOURE A PARENT WITH LESS THAN THREE CHILDREN, THE RAM1500 HAS BEEN AN INCREDIBLE FAMILY CAR. IT COMFORTABLY HOLDS MULTIPLE BABIES IN CARSEATS WHILE HAVING AN ADULT IN THE BACK MIDDLE. YOU WILL NOT FEEL SQUISHED EITHER! THE SECOND ROW LEG ROOM IS UNBEATABLE. I WAS ABLE TO GET IN THE BACK WHILE SHOPPING IN TOWN AND FED MY CHILDREN COMFORTABLY. ADDING A COVER TO YOUR TRUCK BED MAKES IT TO WEAR YOU CAN EASILY HAUL STROLLER, ICE CHEST, LUGGAGE, ECT. THE SPACE FEELS UNLIMITED. MY BIGGEST COMPLAINT IS CARPLAY SYSTEM CRASHING WHEN IN NEED OF DIRECTIONS. OVERALL, I COULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS TRUCK ENOUGH. IF YOUR SPOUSE CURRENTLY DRIVES IT AND YOU DO NOT PREFER YOUR CAR CONSIDER A SWITCH. IT WAS A GAMECHANGER FOR MY HUSBAND AND I.

This was a company fleet vehicle offered to my husband alongside other truck models. We chose the Ram over its competitors after trying it at the dealership. It has been a game changer. We comfortably fit a 6' tall/broad man, a 70 lb dog, 2 toddler carseats and me in the middle between them, and still have full access to cup holders and storage - because on lake weekends, we are hauling A LOT. Our front row bench is nice when we have an extra rider or need the back middle seat for road trip toy storage/snack cooler! I am also 5' tall and find it easy to drive and park in the city!

My husband’s leased one of these for 12+ years. The back seat is so spacious for a baby car seat or anyone tall! Our family ranges from 6ft-6’5 so space is important. The speedometer area could be more upgraded tech wise i think. The large middle screen is amazing for road trip maps. Heated seats and steering wheel are awesome features for mi winters. Overall we love this truck for all its purposes / family car or family projects!

My husband drives this truck and honestly I wish it was my daily vehicle! It drives so smooth and with the technology, it makes the large size so much more manageable. The back seat is spacious enough that you can comfortably have an adult in the middle seat between two carseats. We've owned Ford F150 is the past and I much prefer this truck over the Fords!

My husband had a 2021 Ram 1500 Quad Cab for a few years and when we had our first child, that back seat was TIGHT for car seats. The truck itself was great - extremely smooth ride, reliable, and did what a truck needed to do. My biggest complaint was trying to fit car seats in the Quad Cab. I needed some help figuring out what would fit, so I'm here to say just buy the Extend2Fit. That was the information I needed 2.5 years ago.

We really appreciate the roomy backseat that comes with a full sized pickup. Currently we have two Evenflo Revolve Extend car seats. We will have to do 3 across soon but I don’t foresee any issues. One complaint I do have is that with the car seat installation via seatbelt (we are past the LATCH weight limit with my oldest) the car seat always ends up shifting towards the outside of the seat leaving it slightly tilted ( due to the shape of the bench seat) because that’s where it centers to when I tighten the belt path. I’ve never had this issue with any other vehicle while using the seatbelt install with a Revolve. It’s definitely secure and tight, just off centered with the shape of the vehicle seat. Overall, not a dealbreaker. It’s still a nice pickup! Although ceiling vents would be nice ;)

This car is great for space as far as cubbies, cup holders etc. Seats are comfortable for a long road trip. Second row has relatively little recline so our kid in our forward facing Clek foonf does have some head drop when asleep. The car has been in the shop a few times for the e-torque system but repairs were covered under warranty.

Pros-space, seats are wide and latch is easily accessible which makes installing car seats very easy. We owned a TRX and the height made it difficult for me (5'4") to lift the infant seat in and out but it was my husband's truck so we put the infant seat behind the driver seat for him to easily get in and out. Cons-gas mileage in the TRX is awful and the wide body style makes parking in tight parking lots very difficult. Overall we really enjoyed this truck, recently traded it in for a vehicle with higher towing capacity.

We upgraded from a midsize truck to a full-size Ram 1500 Limited 4x4, and I have been pleasantly surprised by how much I love it. For our family of five, the second row is incredibly spacious and easily accommodates three car seats across. In fact, there is more legroom in the second row than in our Hyundai Palisade, which I honestly didn’t expect from a truck. The interior is another standout. The leather seats are comfortable and give the truck a surprisingly luxurious feel, with plenty of thoughtful storage throughout, including compartments under the seats and a large center console. It feels spacious, comfortable, and very family-friendly. The gas mileage is what you would expect from a full-size truck, but for us, the trade-off is worth it. We actually prefer taking the Ram on longer road trips because of how comfortable and roomy the ride is for our entire family. Our truck also has a retractable bed cover, which has been a game changer for road trips. It allows us to throw luggage, strollers, and other items in the truck bed while keeping everything covered and secure. Overall, I absolutely love this truck. I have been genuinely surprised by how much I prefer driving the Ram sometime even over our Palisade. It’s spacious, comfortable, practical, and luxurious enough that it has quickly become our favorite vehicle for family road trips.

My husband drives this truck and we have 2 car seats "permanently" installed and we move a booster seat back and forth between my vehicle and his as needed. We have a FF carseat in the middle seat. We did have to be careful with the amount of overhang because the middle seat is "indented" more than the outboards. RF on outboard, because of the height of a truck, it is slightly difficult to get small kids in and buckled, but definitely doable. (I turn and tighten the FF seat from the front seat for ease and convenience.) I do appreciate this truck has "extra floorboards" that can be folded out. Easier for little kids to reach the floor, and then creates a little extra space to shove things under for storage. 3rd row definitely spacious enough for easy 3 across situations.

Not a whole lot of bad things to say about the Ram. Great headspace all around and extremely roomy backseat for adults and children in car seats. Only suggestion would be to add running boards if your model doesn’t come with them to make it easier to get in!

My husband and I shared this truck as a couple and then when we added our son to the family. As a mom, this bad boy was a workhorse. Great storage, solid drive, A+ visibility and the back row seat was ideal for diaper changes and BF sessions. The backseat was VERY spacious and could fit three large adults comfortably or two and a car seat or now 2 car seats and one adult. Although spacious it was still easy to pass a snack or a book back while driving. The only knock was the lack of vents in the backseat (but that’s every truck). I enjoyed the drive and still prefer to drive it on the interstate or for long drives. It was a little bulky to park into tight parking lots but just took some extra brain power and patience. I parked it downtown San Francisco and earned major brownie points with my husband. Overall great family truck as the driver and passenger.

I don’t think we will ever not have a pickup. My husband wanted it to be higher up, haul things, and have a manly vehicle. What we didn’t know was that it was a car seat MACHINE and so perfect for a family lifestyle. The tech is so impressive and the space in the back is massive. Full grown adults will comfortably fit, leg space is a huge win. storage space and compartments are top notch. We love this truck

I’m not a mom, but I am a woman driver and absolutely love my Ram 1500. It is incredibly spacious and I love sitting up high. It’s not terribly large to drive. Adding a cover to the bed makes transporting groceries, suitcases or anything in between a breeze! The tech is pretty standard. CarPlay, heated and ventilated seats. The only thing I wish mine had was Adaptive cruise control. This truck is amazing!

Overall, the Ram 2500 does what we need it to do, but we’re not totally in love with it. It’s my husband company truck, so he didn’t get much say in the truck brand. I’m not a huge fan of the look of Rams, and the tech is just okay. The biggest frustration is CarPlay—it disconnects frequently and sometimes won’t reconnect for hours, occasionally even a full 24 hours, unless the battery is disconnected to reset it. Super annoying! 😩 That said, it hauls incredibly well, and the backseat is HUGE. It’s basically a 3-across machine for car seats and boosters, which is a huge win for our family.

Unbeatable 3-Across Car Seat Setup: The back seat in the Crew Cab is absolutely massive. We easily fit three car seats across—one forward-facing, one rear-facing, and a high-back booster—with room to spare. Buckling everyone in without scraping your knuckles against the doors is a huge win. Smooth, Capable Performance: The ride is insanely smooth for a truck. It accelerates effortlessly, handles highway passing with ease, and never feels bogged down when loaded up with the whole crew. Luxury-Level Comfort & Style: Ram nailed the interior. It looks great on the outside, but inside it feels like a luxury vehicle. The seats are super comfortable, it’s whisper-quiet on the highway, and long road trips are a breeze for everyone. Tons of Smart Storage: Truck bed aside, the interior storage is unmatched.

I cannot get over how spacious this truck is. We can do any combination of car seats in the back when my husband is driving some of our five kids. Everyone is always comfortable with room to spare. The console is massive and compartmentalized so it’s not total chaos. I gave it less stars on technology because the wireless charger is goofy.
