2024 Toyota Grand Highlander

Features We Love

The Grand Highlander is available with both gas and hybrid powertrains, so families can choose what fits their lifestyle best. You can go with the traditional gas engine or opt for the hybrid for better fuel efficiency, with the hybrid offering up to 36 MPG combined depending on the trim.

  • Excellent trunk space for the class. The cargo area is wide and deep, fits a full stroller with room to spare, and the seats fold flat easily. Huge upgrade over the regular Highlander.
  • Multiple powertrain options that actually make sense. Gas, hybrid, and Hybrid MAX let families choose efficiency or performance without giving up space. The Hybrid MAX especially feels powerful but still easy to drive.
  • Thoughtful third-row amenities. Ceiling vents, USB-C ports on both sides, and legit cup holders make the third row usable, not just “emergency seating.”
  • Smooth, confident drive. For a midsize SUV, it accelerates well, merges easily, and feels stable on the highway without being bulky around town.
  • Good car seat flexibility overall. Sliding second-row seats on tracks make a big difference for rear-facing clearance and third-row legroom, and the lower anchors and tethers that are there are easy to access.
  • Simple, user-friendly tech. The screen-to-button ratio is solid, climate controls are intuitive, wireless CarPlay works well, and nothing feels overly complicated or distracting.
Car Mom Review

The Exterior

The Grand Highlander exterior keeps things clean and functional rather than flashy, which honestly works for a family SUV this size. It’s noticeably bigger than the regular Highlander, with proportions that prioritize space and visibility, and the design feels practical without being boring.

  • Larger overall footprint with a longer, more family-friendly profile
  • Wide rear opening that makes loading strollers and groceries easier
  • Simple, understated styling that won’t feel dated quickly
  • Available larger wheels and subtle trim details that add polish without going over the top
No items found.

First Row

The first row feels very Toyota in the best and most honest way. There are a lot of buttons, but they’re big, clearly labeled, and exactly where you expect them to be, which matters when you’re driving kids around and don’t want to dig through menus. I love that about this car!

  • Comfortable, supportive seats with great headroom and an easy driving position
  • Clean, user-friendly dashboard with a good screen-to-button ratio (climate controls stay physical, which I love)
  • Standard wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto on a large, clear display
  • Heated steering wheel and power liftgate controls right on the dash where you want them
  • Tons of well-placed USB-C ports and a visible wireless charging pad
  • Practical storage throughout, including cup holders that actually fit a Stanley and a decent-sized center console

Second Row

The second row is still very family-friendly, but it’s important to be clear about how it works. The seats do not tilt with a car seat installed, so third-row access depends on how you’re setting things up.

  • Available captain’s chairs or a bench seat, depending on trim
  • Second-row seats are on long sliding tracks, which helps a lot with rear-facing car seat clearance
  • Clearly marked lower anchors and tether anchors that are easy to access
  • Comfortable second-row legroom with ceiling vents and USB-C ports on both sides
  • Built-in sunshades for kids, which I always appreciate
  • Third-row access requires planning, since the seats don’t tilt with a car seat installed

Third Row

The third row is one of the biggest improvements over the regular Highlander, and while it’s not best-in-class, it’s actually usable in real life. It feels like Toyota was at least trying here, especially compared to the old Highlander.

  • Adult-sized third row with good headroom and shoulder room for a midsize SUV
  • Comfortable for kids and even adults on shorter drives
  • Ceiling vents, USB-C ports, and cup holders on both sides, which is huge back here
  • Forward-facing car seat placement is limited because not every seating position has a tether anchor
  • The main usable spot for a forward-facing car seat is the passenger-side third-row seat
  • Legroom improves significantly when the second row is slid forward, and the difference is noticeable

It’s not perfect, and I still wish Toyota gave us tether anchors in every third-row seat, but compared to the current Highlander, this is a major step in the right direction.

The trunk is honestly one of the stars of the show on the GH!

Trunk

The trunk is honestly one of the stars of the show on the Grand Highlander. This is where it really separates itself from the regular Highlander.

  • Wide, deep cargo area that easily fits a full-size stroller with room to spare
  • Much more usable space behind the third row compared to the regular Highlander
  • Flat load floor and low lift-over height, which makes loading heavy items easier
  • Seats fold down easily and go flat when you need max cargo space
  • Enough depth to handle groceries, backpacks, and sports gear without playing Tetris

Safety

The safety setup is very on-brand for Toyota and very mom-friendly. Nothing feels flashy or overcomplicated, but the basics are done really well, especially when you’re driving a bigger vehicle and hauling kids every day.

  • Standard Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 with forward collision warning and automatic emergency braking
  • Blind Spot Monitoring and Rear Cross Traffic Alert standard, which is a must in parking lots
  • Lane Departure Alert with Lane Keep Assist and adaptive cruise control for highway driving
  • Proactive Driving Assist that gently helps with braking and steering in certain situations
  • Available surround-view / panoramic camera that makes parking and tight spaces way less stressful
  • Available Traffic Jam Assist on higher trims for stop-and-go traffic

You also get seat belt pretensioners in the front seats and the outboard second-row seats, which is a big deal for families. That means the driver, front passenger, and the two outer second-row seating positions all have pretensioners designed to tighten the belt in a crash to reduce forward movement and improve protection where kids and adults are most likely riding.

Car Seat Setup

The 2024 Grand Highlander comfortably fits a family of 4-6 with captain's chairs and up to 7 with the bench seat. In the second row has lower anchors in both outboard seating positions and a tether anchor in every second row seat. The anchors are easily accessible and are not hidden in the seat bight. This allows for easy installation of a baseless car seat--or any car seat. With ample front-to-back space a rear facing car seat can be installed comfortably even behind a taller front passenger (though this requires moving the second row backward on its tracks.) Rotating car seats are an excellent choice for third row access since the Grand Highlander lacks a car seat tilt feature. If no car seat is installed, there is a wide aisle to climb into the third row by tilting and sliding the second-row seat forward. In the third row there is one set of lower anchors behind the passenger seat (3P) and two tether anchors in 3P and 3C. The tethers are located in fabric slits in the vehicle seatback. You'll have to reach under the fabric cover to access them. Because the middle seat in the third row is very narrow, you cannot install two car seats simultaneously across the center and outboard seats. That effectively gives you one useful tether anchor in the third row, which is something to keep in mind. If you install a car seat in the third row center seat, visibility will be dramatically reduced and the seat's narrowness will make installation much more challenging than in an outboard seat.

The third row buckles are less accessible, and most boosters will obscure them. The Chicco KidFit fits well because of a tiny cutout towards the back of the booster, which allows for access. Although the Graco Turbobooster is about the same width, it is much harder to buckle.

If you use a forward-facing car seat in the third row simultaneously with a rear-facing car seat in front of it, prioritize a low-profile seat, like the Chicco Fit3X. This will angle the child's legs lower, giving them valuable legroom instead of pressing their legs unsafely against the second row seatback. If you need to fit a car seat rear-facing in the third row the Nuna Rava and Graco Extend2Fit 3 in 1 work here. The Poplar works rear facing, but not later in the forward-facing position.

Now for three across: while possible in the Grand Highlander, it's not my top choice for three adjacent seats. Seats must be 17" or less and the center seat is limited to infant seats or the Graco SlimFit3 LX  3 in 1, Chicco Fit3X, or Nuna Exec. The middle second row seat is small and considerably shallower than the outboard seats. The small bases of the above seats nestle in well there and give enough space on either side for a narrow adjacent installation. Toyota also requires that both portions of the 60/40 split bench be adjusted to the same position and that both seat backs are aligned at at the same angle. This is also the case for a single car seat installation in 2C.

If you're troubleshooting a challenging car seat installation, Toyota permits removing the second row and third row center head restraints, if needed for a flush installation. They also encourage reclining the vehicle seatback to match the angle of the car seat.

Couldn’t be more disappointed in my car purchase and have such car regret. I’m 5’8”-5’9” female and I’m soooo uncomfortable in the drivers seat. I feel like there is no where for my feet/legs to go and am just never comfortable. The small gas tank is also annoying, along with many other things IMO. I did test drive it two times before purchasing but didn’t realize these factors before, which I realize sounds silly. Positives: my kids seem comfortable in the captain chairs and the third row is fine as well.

The Grand Highlander is a great car for two kids. It’s tight for 3 in car seats for sure. The bench makes the third row feel small. No car seat tilt makes access challenging. If you have a double stroller, consider your trunk (mostly) full at all times. It’s a great, reliable car with fantastic mpg (we’ve been getting 36 on average!). Has ceiling vents, a water bottle holder, 360 camera, heated/ventilated seats and upgraded Toyota safety sense. Wish it came in a full sized version. Considering upgrading to a minivan for our needs.

I have really loved this SUV so far for my kids who are 4 and 6. I have a bench seat configuration and it’s really easy to get access to the 3rd row if needed. I have so much trunk space and the ceiling vents/cup holders/usb plug access in 2nd and 3rd row is really great! Booster seat setups can be a little tough in the 3rd row and sometimes the CarPlay will randomly disconnect/not connect but it isn’t often. I wish the Auto Stop button wasn’t “on” as a default because the AC is limited while stopped with that feature on and in Texas, that’s hot! Easy to switch off to resolve but you have to do it everytime you get in the car. Came from a small Audi SUV so I’m loving the extra space and look of this car that looks like the Lexus TX for a fraction of the cost

My family loves this car, especially after driving a smaller SUV with 3 across car seats for years. Everyone has more space and we are definitely more comfortable in the car now with a middle row bench. Love all the cup holders, physical buttons for controls, ceiling vents, sun shades, and huge sun roof. Really wish I could get my garage door opener to work with the car though. Like some others mentioned, the app asking to connect every time the car starts is annoying and I accidentally hit the buttons that change driving modes a decent amount.

I have 4 kids ages 12-2 and it’s been great. It is getting a little tight, especially trunk space when traveling. But for everyday needs we have loved it. I also love that I’ve had it for almost 3 years and it has hardly lost any value.

Funny enough, kids grow up. After driving a Toyota Sienna for 10 years I was ready to leave the minivan life. Car seats are a thing of our past, but we knew we still needed space. Space for our family of 5, plus friends, plus hockey bags! We test drove multiple mid-size and full-size SUVs and landed on the Grand Highlander for its comfort, the size of the trunk while still having 7 seats available and Toyota’s long history of excellent performance and reliability. We ended up purchasing the Hybrid MAX Platinum for all of its amazing features. I love how comfortable the ride is and how quiet it is inside the car! Our kids can access the back row easily by slipping in between the captain’s chairs or moving a seat entirely. There is a decent amount of leg room in the third row which was a plus for our growing kids and also makes carpooling with adult friends more comfortable as well. I’ve averaged ~23 miles to the gallon which is below the listed average but still better than a lot of other cars of this type. I think it has excellent “pick up” and is overall really enjoyable to drive.

Mom of 4-Switched from a 2020 Suburban to a 2026 GH. Love it SO much! I was nervous about downsizing space, but we don’t carry a stroller anymore and the trunk is serving us well. It holds a large Costco haul just fine! I have 4 kids-two in high back boosters and 2 in forward facing seats. I have a HBB and FF in the third row-my 8 year old has plenty of leg room back there-and a HBB and FF in the captains chairs. Love that those are on tracks, too. My only complaints about this vehicle are 1) the interior hard surfaces seem to scratch easily, which is disappointing; and 2) the buttons that switch between drive terrains are terribly placed on the center console. I’m constantly bumping them as I grab my coffee. Otherwise, I’m so happy with our switch to the GH and honestly, my kids have more space in the cabin than they did in the suburban, where we had a bench the second row that made things tighter/more difficult to access the third row. 10/10 would recommend!

I love the hybrid for this car living in Rural Maine I need the AWD and get ~35MPG. I wish I could've got a higher trim package, the XLE cup holder in the second row is NOT removable but when I bought, there was no inventory available. Trunk space does well for our crew, captains chairs for our two boys FF and booster seat.

I have 3 kids ages (11,9, and 3) just one kid in forward facing car seat. There is plenty of 3rd seat leg room for my older boys (I’ve even sat back there comfortably and I’m 5’10”). It fits our family well and has good gas mileage. We have taken it on multiple long distance road trips and it’s handled very well. We love it!

Love my Grand Highlander hybrid. Comfortable to drive, great gas mileage for the size of the vehicle. I have 2 kids in car seats, have utilized the 3rd row occasionally with adults, not too bad as long as adult is not very tall. On a day-to-day my 3rd row is down so I have a lot of trunk space. Technology is good, have everything I may need during a drive. Just find the Toyota app annoying after free trial expires and a pop up shows up on phone every time car turns on, but learned a trick to download the Lexus app instead and no more pop-ups.

I have loved my hybrid Grand Highlander. I have the bench seat, and adults fit comfortably in the second row! I haven’t used the third row very often but when we have, I was shocked with how comfortable it is as an adult to have leg room in a 3rd row mid size SUV. The trunk space is incredible with the 3rd row down, and it’s still pretty impressive with 3rd row up! If you have a very tall passenger in the front passenger seat, it can get a little tight if you have a rear facing car seat behind it in the second row but that hasn’t been a big problem for us. The hybrid driving system is incredible. It has so much power and drives so smooth. Also, I am so glad I got the hybrid because this car does have a smaller gas tank, so I am happy to get the extra miles out of the hybrid. I love how it looks on the exterior because I think it looks a little sporty, especially in this color. I really enjoy the technology, I’m not sure I can survive without a 360 view camera now that I have it. I am so glad it still has buttons for A/C compared to it being on the screen. Also, it checked my boxes of needing ceiling vents and sun shades in second row. It helped so much in the summer heat with having a rear facing car seat. It’s been a fantastic car for us, and it can easily grow with our family!

The pros of the Grand Highlander are the drive and performance; interior comfort for a midsize SUV; and the technology and infotainment system. Compared to our previous vehicle, which was a 2018 Chevy Traverse, our four kids find the second and third row seating more comfortable. We do remove the middle cupholder piece for accessing the third row and so have felt like there aren’t enough cupholders in the second row when that is not in the vehicle. The gas tank feels small for the size of the vehicle (as a mom shuttling kids around), I’m filling up about once a week, which is a change also from the Traverse. The sunshades are nice and used often. I do miss the under trunk storage from the Traverse as well as the car seat tilt. We selected this vehicle because of Toyota‘s reliability and value so we aren’t able to provide feedback on that yet, but overall we are enjoying the car and it fits our family needs well. We only have one child in a car seat currently and two in boosters and it works okay. I think if we had more children in carseats, especially without the carseat tilt, this vehicle might not work.

We are a family of 3 (daughter is 5 1/2 yo), but wanted the space of 3 row SUV because frequently bring friends along on trips or to attend events, or go on play dates. My commute is 35 minutes each way in a major city, so hybrid was a non-negotiable. There weren't many hybrid 3 row SUV options when we were purchasing and the GH revealed itself as the clear winner. Enough trunk space for Softball Mom duties, a good grocery haul, Goodwill drop off errand, suitcases for road trips, and everything in between. Very comfortable to ride in 2nd or 3rd row for everyone - including other adults! A friend who had to telework while we traveled loved all of the USB-C charging ports. Ceiling vents in the back have come in clutch for the littles on the hot, Southern California afternoons. Sometimes the Bluetooth blips off, which is why I took a star from the tech. Otherwise, great car! Thrilled with my purchase. We have a Graco Extend to Fit DLX (sold at Costco) and it works well. I have it in with latch so I can slide the seat for 3rd row access. I do wish the 2/1 split of the second row had the 1 seat behind the passenger instead of driver, but I get why it's split this way. I also keep a second Cosco Kids Finale DX 2-in-1 booster for when I have an extra kiddo. The 8 yo neighbor can easily bring her booster if I have her too.

This was my first choice when purchasing a new SUV but unfortunately they only had a red one available and I needed to purchase and couldn’t wait for another. They didn’t have any available within 200 miles of me. It was super comfortable I love the way the space was laid out, the drive was really nice and it was definitely an upgrade from the regular Highlander. I ended up purchasing the traverse

We’ve had our Grand Highlander Hybrid for just over a year now. We have 1 child rear facing and a large dog. It’s SO great to have space for the car seat in the second row and the dog in the third or trunk. Trunk space is great even with third row up. I love having ceiling vents! I love the user friendly buttons to manage AC/radio and overall the hybrid engine is great. Quiet, smooth, and over 30 mpg! The tech can be glitchy sometimes but kind of what we expected out of this Toyota software but otherwise we love this car! Safe, comfortable, and spacious!

We bought the hybrid and love it so far. I’m getting 37 miles per gallon and have an hour commute one-way each day. The second row is very spacious. I love where the driver arm rest hits. Both of my kids are in booster seats and my only complaint is in the third row - the seat belt alarm is easily triggered if you use a wide car seat because it thinks someone is in the seat next to them without a belt on.

This is a great hybrid for the family! I went into buying this car to drive it until the wheels fall off, as Toyotas are lifers. My husband is 6'4" and can easily sit in the 3rd row, and we made sure because our kids will be tall too. The car is comfortable, quiet, has a bench option which I appreciate and has a lot of trunk space. The thing I dont love is the infotainment sometimes glitches, but I bought a first model year. Part of it is that it prefers to connect to my husband's phone instead of mine which might be a phone problem, not car. Also the wireless phone charger works but not with my loopy.

I love this car!! I have a tall family, and everyone fits comfortably in the first and second rows. The removable console in the second row makes it easy to access the third row. For a midsize SUV, the outboard seats on the third row is fine. They really should have eliminated the middle seat in the third row like they did in the Lexus. Even with the third row up, I still have decent trunk space for my double stroller. The car drives so well and is very comfortable for a long road trip. I’m getting over 25 mpg on the standard engine, which seems great for a car this size that isn’t a hybrid.

This is a great car for smaller families who don't want a large SUV. Tons of trunk space, but limited when third row is up. Leg room in 2nd and 3rd rows is limited. Think car-line and getting in and out having to squeeze behind the seats. I have a 2nd row bench and getting in to the 3rd row is a PAIN. Do not recommend, however the captain seats had this awkward console in the middle people would have to climb over. My husband is 6'3 and his knees are tight but comfortable in the driver's seat. I am 5'1 and it's great for me to get around in.

We love our Grand Highlander for our family of 5. We previously had an Infiniti QX80 and while that had way more horsepower, the interior was smaller in size than you’d think. This SUV is zippy for being a four cylander. It took a little getting used to going from a larger engine but now I don’t think I would go back. The gas mileage is amazing on the Grand Highlander and it’s a very smooth ride. The only reason I give an overall 4.5 stars is the technology has been quirky, possibly because it was a brand new model when we purchased. Also. The third row does have more room than you’d think but unless you’re going up to an XL extended vehicle, I don’t think the third row would ever get five stars. I will note the factory tires in the Midwest are not great, we purchased snow tires and a second pair of rims to switch out seasonally and that has worked very well, making me feel much more safe on snowy and icy roads. This is a great reliable vehicle for a growing family!

This car hit everything that we were looking for as a family. Size, style, luxury, technology, and fuel efficiency. We wanted reliable, and so far the grand Highlander has been just that. The exterior is sporty and stylish in the inside is basics with really nice technology. There’s USB-C plugs by every seat, making it really convenient for a road trip. So far getting 34.5 mpg, and that’s incredible! Love that the center console has touch screen AND buttons and a physical gear shifter. The nightshade hybrid has been just the best suv so far!

Absolutely love my Toyota grand Highlander. She drives so smooth, my only complaint is I wish I had a front camera. When I brought this car the guy said I would but when we picked her up it was the next level trim! People will say mini van with this many kids, but hey I’m just not that soccer mom! I have the bench so everyone fits and we even have room to always bring a friend! Toyota is reliable in the engine parts and that’s the reason I never stray!

I bought this car after having my car totaled, so I was in a pinch for time unfortunately. I wanted something “super reliable” and family friendly… and everything I’ve ever heard was Toyota was that. I have not been thrilled with my purchase. I have two kids in forward facing car seats (Graco transitions boosters) actually. If you only have two & no additions, there is plenty of room! Good leg room for Littles, good trunk room for all the gear, etc! When adding nieces/ nephews- the third row is hard to access. If your forward facing car seat is installed with the seat belt, you can’t move the second row seat since seat belt is attached to side of car. With captains chairs, third row riders can climb through center but the cup holders make it difficult. The third row is also very hard to have a high back booster in since the seat belt buckle is manufactured so tightly inward (see this with Kelly’s review of the car.) It’s a “first world problem” type of complaint but nothing is overall magical, or exceptionally pretty or completely amazing for the price point of these cars. I’ve also had issues with my sunroof exterior lining coming unsecured making extremely loud noises in the cabin randomly (until it’s fixed). Again- it’s a good car, not an exceptional car. If you are in the market for this car- I highly recommend getting the limited or higher trim. The XLE is super lackluster compared to limited. Sorry the car seat photo isn’t great! I don’t have any without the kids actually in them! But these (which are fairly slim seats) do give kids a nice piece of the actual seat of car to climb up on if you’re also curious about that!

I was a prior 2020 Highlander Hybrid owner. My current car is a gas model. I do wish I had the hybrid. The interior is nice, the ride is smooth but I do think it's hard in gas mileage. As always it's a Toyota so it's generally awesome, but needs some tweaks.

Exceptionally functional with Toyota reliability. With 2 kids it’s the perfect size. Easy to get around town, park and take on road trips. I wish the hybrid fuel economy was better (best I have gotten is 25 mpg) but overall great car. I hate that the Toyota technology is a subscription but apple car play is an easy work around.

Love a Toyota. Purchased this car as my first mom car and really enjoyed it. Would have driven it until the wheels fell off however quickly got pregnant with baby #2! We needed a bigger car due to my husband being 6’4 and myself being 5’9 the front seats were cramped with two car seats in the second row. Toyota technology is always behind, but you don’t buy a Toyota for the tech! Never had a problem with this car!

We’ve had our 2026 Toyota Grand Highlander for a little while now and absolutely love it! We have one rear-facing car seat and one forward-facing car seat, and there is still plenty of room for everyone without feeling cramped. The functionality of this SUV is probably my favorite part — there’s so much space, everything is easy to access, and it’s just really practical for having two kids. We chose the black interior, and while I love how it looks, it definitely shows everything — fingerprints, crumbs, dirt, you name it 😂. But honestly, that’s completely my fault for choosing black! Overall, I’m really happy with it. It’s comfortable, spacious, functional, and feels like a vehicle that will work really well for our family as the kids grow. So far, it’s been a great family SUV!

This car is an incredibly comfortable and smooth ride and is an elite road trip car. I would highly recommend this car to all my mom friends for the comfort and space. I will say if you do have large car seats, you’ll want to ensure they fit comfortably behind the driver and passenger seats. I’m 5’1 and my husband is 5’6 so there’s no issues with our seats touching the car seats, however I could see that being an issue for a taller family. Other than that, it’s perfect and it’s my favorite car I’ve ever owned and I’ve owned a bunch of different makes.

I LOVE my 2026 Grand Highlander hybrid platinum!! I had a 2017 Chevy traverse before I upgraded and the Chevy was always lacking in the “niceness” and tech. I loved the Grand Highlander from the moment I sat in it. The interior is beautiful, the tech is great and it’s so comfy! Our kids are a little bit older so we didn’t have to worry about the car seat configuration or anything like that. I do love that it has plenty of space for cups in the back and everyone has their own charger port! I have fit my two teens and mother in the third row comfortably for trips to Disneyland! Plus, I can pack my trunk with ALL the things!! I am so glad I went with the grand Highlander and with the Toyota name, I know I will always get quality care and maintenance.

I went to test drive this to compare the Sienna and Grand Highlander side by side. It drove well and didn't feel to big. What got me was once I installed my carseats. I put in my Evenflo 360 Extend ( admittedly a bulky carseat) and found that in rear-facing it was tight for my husband. The back of his seat was touching the carseat and he is 5'10. I thought I'm going to spend all this money on a new car and still have to worry about legroom/feeling tight?! So I test drove the Sienna and haven't looked back! Overall it is a very nice car, but for the phase of life we are in with a child rearfacing for the next 3-4 years, I didn't want to deal with seats feeling squished.

I love my 2026 Grand Highlander! My biggest complaint is that Toyota doesn’t offer the Platinum trim with the more fuel-efficient hybrid engine. You have to get the Hybrid MAX, which is more focused on performance. We went with the HybridMAX anyway and I'm glad we did. It has a ton of power and is really fun to drive. Sticker says you should get 27mpg, and depending on the trip we get anywhere from 23-29mpg. I do wish the third row only had two seats instead of trying to squeeze three in. It’s fine for the occasional ride, but two roomier seats would be nice. We only have two kids, so we keep the third row down most of the time anyway, which gives us a ton of trunk space. The ride is super smooth, and I love all the tech that comes with the Platinum, especially the 360 camera and digital rearview mirror. The seat cooling is decent but could definitely be better. Overall, it’s been a great car for our family of four. Plenty of room for the kids and all their stuff, and my 3-year-old is obsessed with the moonroof. I love it.

Im very happy with our purchase of the grand Highlander hybrid! Needed to upgrade my car to fit our growing family and I feel it is the perfect size love the style and the comfort drives smoothly. Wish the exterior had slightly different body look to it but overall not bad at all. So far LOVING it and so do my kids. I opted for the bench seat instead of captains to eventually be able to do 3 across if needed and we use the Graco slim fit car seats

Other than the price tag and the camera that monitors you in the 2026, I loved EVERYTHING about this car. It’s practical, functional, has more cargo room than most 3 row SUVs, spacious third row, all of the safety tech you could need, drives like a dream, Toyota reliability…. But the price tag is outrageous for a 3 row SUV.

I really like my Toyota Grand Highlander Max Platinum Hybrid. I wouldn’t say it’s my absolute favorite, but it has a plethora of great features! Some pros that are family friendly- second row ceiling vents, built in second row window shades and lots of trunk space. Some dislikes - the lack of cup holders in the front and the tiny volume knob. I need more than two cup holders in the front; I love beverages. Also, the cup holders between the captains chairs in the second row are too shallow and top heavy drinks fall over (I.e. Hydroflasks, Stanley’s etc.). Why is the volume knob so tiny?! I didn’t think it would bother me, but here we are. Otherwise, the vehicle has great power and works well for my family of 4 with one rear facing child and one forward facing child. I plan to keep it for many years until I transition to a full-size SUV.

I have the hybrid version and love it. I get over 30 mpg daily, usually between 30-34. The ride is smooth and easy. Overall, the tech is pretty good. I have issues with Android Auto connecting via Bluetooth almost every time I get in the car, which is very frustrating. I like that all of the climate controls are buttons and not integrated into the screen. Things I like: one tap blinkers, auto sensing wipers, panoramic view for reversing (can't live without it now that I've had it), many different ways to adjust both the driver and passenger seat, heated seats/seating wheel, rear heated seats, good size cup holders, lots of data that can be tracked on the dash. I don't like that there's buttons on the center console that get pushed when you accidentally lean on them. Also, a BIG problem with Toyota is the auto start feature that is behind a paid app ($15/month!!!!). You can do it from your car remote without the app but I find it finicky. I picked this car because of the (non plug-in) hybrid version and gas mileage for a 3 row SUV and toyotas reliability (I have owned several, plus a Lexus). But I likely would look at other options if I didn't feel strongly about the hybrid aspect. If you are not purchasing for the hybrid, it is somewhat of a "plain Jane" 3 row SUV. Overall though, I am happy with it!

We love this car for our family of 5 plus grandma or our nanny. The 1st and 3rd rows are very comfortable. The 3rd row had some known gripes (thanks to The Car Mom's review) - the middle seat is tiny, there is only one set of LATCH (lower) anchors, and there are two sets of tether anchors but one of those is in the middle seat which is tiny and not useable. We have captain chairs, which we like for this phase of life where our older kids nice bc our older kids can get in and out through the middle (when we have our almost 3yo who is front facing in the second row, his carseat is secured with LATCH and seatbelt, and I cannot use the carseat tilt on that side. Regarding the technology, we use CarPlay, however, sometimes if my phone doesn't automatically connect to the CarPlay, I have to turn off the car and back on so that it will connect. Easy fix, but prefer this not to be a glitch, esp if I didn't realize it until I already started my trip. All in all, we love the reliability of Toyota at this point of our lives! I was initially concerned about the trunk space for roadtrips but it's been fine (it helps to pack one big suitcase instead of multiple little ones). One weird thing to end this review is that the tail lights are sharp, and sometimes if the trunk is open, I bruise my arm when brushing by the tail light. My initial preference was an Explorer as that's what I grew up with, but the Grand Highlander was comparable in size and look. Included pics for reference!

I LOVE this car. I have been a Toyota driver for 20 years, first with a Camry, then Avalon, Sienna and now this GH. We have tall kids and even my 6ft tall husband can sit in the 3rd row, albeit not long distances. In many 3rd row mid-sized SUVs, that last row is laughable. We can fit 5 carry on suitcases in the trunk with the 3rd row in use. We have put many road trip miles on the car, fuel economy is great (we have the hybrid), and love the reliability. One thing to note is the tech… sometimes the touchscreen won’t load. This ended up being a recall issue Toyota was fixing. In between ownership of the Sienna and this car, I did drive a 2018 Honda Pilot. It was good, but felt very light for driving in snow and ice where we live in north Idaho. I would slide around often even with the right tires. The Grand Highlander does well in the snow and I haven’t had any major issues with winter driving. Love it and so glad I chose this car!

Love my grand Highlander. It’s comfortable and I feel like somewhat stylish for a mom of 2. Plenty of trunk space especially with third row down. It has ceiling vents and chargers in back. Middle seat cupholders are removable. Nice center console space in front and nice cupholders in front. Third row has 3 seats which limits comfort back there. Third row is not for adults and not for long car rides. Overall I love my car.

As a mom of 2 busy boys I knew I wanted a bigger SUV. I absolutely love my grand Highlander. The trunk space with the 3rd row down is incredible. With the third row up it is a bit on the smaller side. Second row captain chairs has been great for my little family. The third row can fit 2, but I’d say comfortably with room it’s better to have 2.

Coming from a 2021 and then a 2023 Chevy Tahoe, the third row room/comfort is definitely lacking. However, compared the other mid size SUV’s the Grand Highlander seems to be better but I don’t have personal experience.

I have the 2024 Grand Highlander Hybrid (Platinum) and for the most part I've been pretty happy with it but looking to downsize or find a car with better mileage. I get on average 22-24 mpg, normal drive mode, normal driving. It's really annoying such a massive car has such a tiny tank (I've only ever been able to get about 12 gallons in when completely empty). I came from an electric car and went with this one partially to escape some range anxiety but I have to gas this big girl up far more than I had to charge my Tesla. Can't even make it on a 250 mile road trip (with 2 people) on one tank. For the pros - the technology and cameras are great. I've been in far more expensive cars with less technology. I love when you slow down to under 7 mph, the aerial camera automatically pops up. Very helpful when parking this big thing and something I miss when driving other cars. Lots of USB-C charging ports around for everyone in the car. The charging pad isn't all that great, seems to be kind of intermittent and hard to keep the phone on it so I just use a charging cord because my phone lighting up for going on and off the charger annoys me and it works just fine. Third row is comfortable for I would say adult average females. Not sure I would put larger individuals back there for long drives but would be fine for a short drive. You really get a lot of space inside for the size of this car. I've looked at many with an inch or two of the outside dimensions but inside capacity is oddly MUCH smaller than this one. I'm an over-packer and this car is very supportive of that. I've been using the Nuna Rava next car seat and rear facing it is a tight from the second row captain's chair to the front seat (front seat has to be moved up) but fine when front facing. I think this is a rather deep car seat with annoying cup-holders and installation anyway. My parents have a Graco Slim Fit in their car and I honestly much prefer it even if the Nuna is *prettier*.

The 2024 GH was another car I put a deposit down on and pulled back on. It is such a gorgeous rugged looking car. It also feels responsible and I say that with love. But it also felt way overpriced for what you are paying for. We were looking at used Toyota's and I'm convinced you should only buy new. Because the value of Toyota just don't drop the way other car brands do. I mean it was almost full price for a 2 year old GH. That's insane. A few other things that had held me back - the car I almost bought was not the hybrid. The hybrid is that girl. It was expensive and it felt kinda cheap inside. I mean the car seat latches on the back of the third row are just sitting under cut felt. No nice detailing or plastic to make that look nice. Every other car had a nice latch thing. I know it seems small but its a 60k car! Like we are talking about a $2 part for them to install. Details matter. I also read a lot of stories about tech glitches and thin paint issues. I test drove the GH and can confirm there was some glitching where it kept reverting the screen to the rearview camera. Finally, it's not an IIHS safety pick. Not even on the list. My husband was appalled at the safety test reviews. So it didn't make the cut.

I absolutely LOVE my Toyota Grand Highlander Hybrid - Nightshade Edition! I traded in a 2024 Kia Telluride and couldn't be happier with the decision. While the tech and design in the Telluride were beautiful (Mahogany leather seats - stunning), Wednesday (my GH's name) is more comfortable for everyone in the family. I have one tall teenager that is way more comfortable in the third row, and two kids in high-back boosters that have no issues buckling in the second row (captain's chairs). Disclaimer: only one of the booster riders (the older, more-coordinated one) can sit in the third row because buckling with a booster back there is tricky. The trunk space is amazing. I miss my cubby below the cargo floor, but I'll take the increase space front-to-back. I have more trunk space than my sister does in her Atlas. I got the Nightshade/Limited trim level specifically because I wanted an actual hybrid, not a performance hybrid. I consistently get 35+ MPG. It's been amazing to only fill up half a tank or less every week when I was filling up an entire and larger tank with the Telluride. We got the car and left on a road trip to South Dakota two weeks later, so I've put 6,000 miles on Wednesday since May 31st. Toyota Care is also awesome (two years of free service - including oil changes)! I highly recommend!

I was pregnant with my second and wanted an SUV that I could fit a double stroller in the back for once my second was born. I also wanted one we could grow into as my kids got older and could car pool / drive other family members like grandparents when needed. My mom still has her 2003 Toyota Sequoia that she bought when I was in high school and my husbands family also had a Sequoia that was well loved. However, the Sequoia was out of our price range so I was very excited when they introduced the Grand Highlander because when I test drove the Highlander I felt like it was smaller than I wanted. I ultimately decided between the Honda Pilot and the Grand Highlander and chose the GH because of the ceiling vents. With 2 rear face car seats I felt the ceiling vents were more important. 3 years later I still love my GH.

We love this car. The size is great. It gives us all the space we need without feeling too huge. The third row is small, but fine for our kids and their friends. It could definitely use more cup holders though. I love the sunshades and rear vents. I also really like the Toyota app.

We bought the 2024 Toyota grand Highlander hybrid XLE in March 2024, shortly after having my second child. I currently have a 4.5 year old, and almost 3 year old and an 11 month old. We have the bench seat and I can fit three across, but it was tricky. I have a Nuna Pipa infant seat (which I will upgrade to a Britax Poplar shortly), a Diono Radian 3RXT FF in the center seat, and an EvenFlo Revolve Slim behind the driver seat. I’m hoping that when I ditch the infant seat, I’ll be able to shift the seats over a bit to use lower latch anchors for the rotating seat. That way you can fit a trim adult in the third row by rotating the carseat forward and sliding the outboard seat behind the driver forward. Right now, if we need the third row, we climb in through the trunk. I do like having the bench as it allows for a TON of trunk space. I’m talking a week vacation for a family of 5, including my UppaBaby vista with 2 seats and the ride on skateboard attachment, pack and plays, boxes of diapers, and luggage for each person. The best part about this car is the gas mileage. I typically get between 32 and 34mpg driving around town. Very helpful in this economy! One other reviewer mentioned the annoying part of this car- the drive modes (sport/eco) are so close to the center console that it is easy to hit different modes by accident. One other gripe I have with the car is that there is no beeping sounds when you get close to something moving forward or backward. I’m not sure if it is an option on a higher trim level, but annoying that it’s not offered on the XLE. Overall, we really do LOVE this car!

This has been the best upgrade from a sedan to an SUV for our small family. Huge trunk space with the third row down when it’s just us or a pretty comfortable 3rd row when we have others with us. Car seats- in the second row we’ve had the Nuna Pippa and the Britax Poplar seats, both with plenty of space and fit great. When we had our second, we changed our oldest to a rotating car seat to help her get in and out with less assistance but keep her rear facing longer and I will say this seat would not work well if my husband or I were taller - had to move the front seats up significantly to make enough room but this is still the set up that’s working best for our family right now. Overall super happy with this car and planning to keep for a long time!

Obsessed with my Grand Highlander Hybrid! I did the Limited Nightshade trim package and have captains chairs with two rear facing seats (Nuna Rava and Uppababy Mesa Max). Love the ceiling air vents in 2nd and 3rd rows. Plenty of legroom for taller drivers - I am 5’10 and my husband is 6’1. We also can sit comfortably in the third row. Hybrid gets great MPG and was a huge plus for us. We love it!

Our model doesn’t have captains chairs, third row access would definitely be simpler with them. Currently our youngest is in an infant carrier and we just move the seat forward. The only thing I dont love about it is the buttons for sport / economy mode etc are where you sometimes lean. Smooth ride, reliable, good comfort, and Toyotas will run forever.

We have owned this car for probably longer than most, we got it in Fall of 2023. We absolutely love the car, and still love it! The gas mileage on the Hybrid is amazing (I get typically 34-37mpg and we live in a hilly area). The drive is so quiet, sometimes my kids don’t even notice the car is on when it’s parked. I can fit plenty in the trunk, even with the 3rd row up. Only gripe is the tether in the 3rd row. Luckily my kids are old enough that they are in boosters and don’t require it.

Overall, I absolutely love my Grand Highlander! I have the Limited gas version and bought it right when it came out in August 2023 because I was so excited about it. Looking back, I do wish I would’ve waited a little longer so I could’ve found one with AWD and really considered the hybrid option. Other than that, I have zero regrets. It drives so easily, and the turbo really does pack a punch. At the time of this review, I have a 4-year-old and an almost 1-year-old, and there is more than enough space for our family. We have a RAV4 and a Graco Click Connect infant seat, and they fit great. We got the bench seat based on Kelly’s recommendation, and I really love having the option to sit in the middle. We do a lot of beach trips, so that flexibility has been really nice. The third row is very spacious. We often take one car when family is in town, which was really important to us. Since our baby’s car seat is baseless, we can take it out, let everyone get into the third row, and then put the baby back in. We can comfortably fit my husband, me, our two kids, Mimi, Grandpa, and an uncle all in one car lol. I will say, no one in our family is 6 feet tall, so I can’t speak to how comfortable it would be for super tall passengers lol. The trunk space is another huge plus. With the third row down, I can fit our big stroller, a bike, and all our pool/beach stuff with room to spare. With the third row up, I can still comfortably do a full grocery trip and have room for the kids’ toys. If you’re semi-anti-minivan but want a spacious SUV, I really think this is the one you want. My only real con is the front phone charging area. Your phone slides around, and I wish they would’ve added a little barrier or rubber piece. Other than that, I honestly can’t think of much! Overall, it’s a great car. I get around 22 MPG and am still really happy with my decision.

I got my 2026 Grand Highlander after having my 3 baby. I love the way it drives and overall it is very comfortable. The built-in sunshades and ceiling vents are such a game charger when having little ones (esp. rear facing). I love that the third row passengers have big windows which helps make the back feel much less claustrophobic. Another thing the Grand Highlander has is great trunk space for a 3 row midsize suv. I am impressed by what I’ve been able to fit in there. I will say the aisle between the captains chairs is pretty narrow so if you’re looking for that “easy walk to get he third row” this car is not it. Toyota definitely missed the memo on the car seat set up. Having one of the only 2 tethers in the third row in the center seat because you cannot have 2 forward facing car seats in the third room. Our oldest is in a booster so they doesn’t really effect us but it is definitely a huge negative for families with more than 2/3 kids. For the stage of life we are currently in I love this car but I definitely think down the line we will need something bigger. Overall this is a great car and I would definitely recommend it to someone who isn’t ready for the full size suv jump like I was but needed the bigger car space!

Great grandparent car. I leave two Evenflo Revolve car seats in the second row. Both are forward facing when not in use. This gives the space needed in the front row since I am tall. I can rotate forward facing or rear facing depending on which grandchildren I have with me. This works because we have a second vehicle if we need to take adults with us.

Got this car when we were undecided about going from 2-3. Was torn between this and the Pilot. I liked the truck space of this better as we have 2 dogs who often ride in the back but now that I’ve had it about 6 months, I think the pilot would have been just as great.

This is my second Toyota (2017 Highlander) and the reliability is what keeps us coming back! We needed a larger family vehicle and finally landed on the Grand Highlander just in time to bring baby number 4 home. While minivans are great for some….this mom is saying “never.” I needed a 3 row vehicle that is comfortable as we do A LOT of driving. The front is great room, I love the large center console and the tech is upgraded from my previous car. In the third row we have 2 high back boosters. Both love the extra cup holders and the usb-c chargers for their devices. I have a forward facing convertible and a baseless infant car seat in the second row. There is a removable center console so my kids can walk through without stepping on it/breaking it. A deal breaker for us is ceiling vents so that was something we wouldn’t budge on, all the kids have a vent and the air blows cold. I love being able to Control it all from the drivers seat. The trunk is adequate. I have a stroller back there. Can do a grocery run. We have fit large Costco loads as well. The cars overall performance is very nice. It has an eco mode to maximize mpg and there is also a sport mode which really gets you up to (and over) speed very quickly. One of the things I love, is that the ride is smooth. The engine drives the same at 50mph as it does at 85. The car isn’t struggling to maintain higher speeds and the handling is still great, we live in Southern California so knowing how to drive in the traffic patterns is a must, and this car zips in and out but also feels very substantial.

I love my car! I had to sell my hybrid RAV4 to accommodate our growing family and knew I wanted to get another hybrid Toyota. My mom has the regular Toyota Highlander (not Grand) and her third row was absolutely useless for both older kids/adults fitting as well as trying to get a car seat installed in the third row. I have loved my Grand Highlander and my kids do too! My husband is also 6’4” and fits comfortably even with car seats installed behind the driver seat. I have had issues with my iPhone staying connected to CarPlay while driving— sometimes the whole screen/system shuts down and restarts completely on its own randomly, and other times it just disconnects my phone and I have to manually reconnect it. It’s been very frustrating!! I have loved using the Baby Trend Koa Slim High Back Booster Car Seat in the third row for my oldest kiddo! He had a hard time buckling the Chicco MyFit in the third row, but the adjustable arm rest on the Baby Trend booster seat was a game changer for us.

We absolutely love my GH! It’s the perfect family car. The second and third row seats are so spacious. The steering is so smooth and it feels so luxurious. I have the Limited Hybrid trim and have been very impressed with the MPG. I think Toyota knocked this one out of the park. 10/10 recommend.

2026 Toyota Grand Highlander Limited Review The Toyota Grand Highlander Limited is definitely spacious, and that’s probably its biggest strength. With three kids ages 11, 9, and 3, the extra room makes a big difference for our family. There’s plenty of space for passengers and cargo, and overall it works well as a family vehicle. That said, I’m disappointed with the quality for the price. The interior feels more mediocre than I expected, and honestly, it feels like it should be nicer considering how much I paid for it. Some of the materials and overall finish just don’t give me the premium feel I was expecting from a vehicle at this price point. Road noise is also more noticeable than I would like, especially on the highway. It’s not unbearable, but again, for what this vehicle costs, I expected a quieter and more refined ride. For a family with three kids, the Grand Highlander does what we need it to do, and the space is a huge plus. But if I could go back and make the decision again, I honestly wish I had gotten the Lexus TX instead. I think it would have felt more upscale and worth the money.

I got my Grand Highlander with a bench seat in the second row, which I use for three across with my three kids. At one point, all three were rear facing and we make it work with Clek seats. The third row is used mainly for our dog, so access from the truck is not a problem. When we do have an extra passenger or two, access from the trunk isn't ideal, but thats the exception for us not the rule (so not a deal breaker)! The trunk is very spacious, even with the third row up. It drives beautifully and we haven't had a single issue or complaint in almost three years of owning it.

I had a 2019 RAV4, which I loved, but expecting baby number 3 meant I had to upgrade. Although I’d love a larger SUV it wasn’t in the budget so I had to stick to the midsize third row SUV. It was a choice between the Traverse, Telliride, and Grand Highlander. Ultimately I chose Toyota because of the reliability and longevity! I got my Grand Highlander Limited (with the added platinum package) in November of 2025. Honestly I love it so much! Could I use a larger trunk? Probably but we make it work. I’ve done plenty of Costco runs with all 5 of us and can fit almost everything in the trunk! I have a FF 5 year old in the third row, and 2 RF in the captain chairs. The revolving car seat in one side makes it easier for my oldest to climb in and walk back to her seat. There’s ample room in all rows and even more if I change up some car seats/when I move my middle to FF. She’s pretty inside and has so many features I love (vented/heated seats, huge middle console, panoramic sunroof). Very happy with her!

Love the look and performance of this car. The Apple CarPlay randomly doesn’t connect or drops connection. We have loaded this car up with 2 kids in car seats and 4 adults and it’s a tank. Living in an area with a lot of snow the snow button on this car has likely saved us from going off the road, although the location of the buttons on driver the arm rest area is frustrating. Buttons are constantly getting pushed (snow, rock and dirt, eco, traction control etc) by my dog or my elbow.

I was obsessed with this car when it first came out but disappointed when I actually sat in one. The overall interior aesthetic and finishes just felt blah. The steering wheel felt like one from a child’s car, the hybrid max platinum seats were a weird material, and found myself amazed at the amount of plastic everywhere. The third row space was great for a 6ft person, and there are plenty of cup holders and charging ports. Overall, you can buy a car with many more luxurious finishes for the same amount of money. If my budget allowed, I would look at the Lexus version if I wanted to stay in the Toyota family.

I genuinely love this car. It’s dependable, drives great (like I truly love the way this handles and I hate driving “bigger” cars), and makes me feel comfortable hauling my two kiddos around. I have a 4 and 2 year old who are both in rear facing car seats. Our Nuna Rava’s fit great in the second round bench seats and our dog even fits comfortably between them! Third row is great, but I will say it’s hard getting in with the two car seats in the second row. Also, Toyota is dependable but they are never going to be the fanciest interiors. I always feel like the interior is 5 years behind competitors, so if that really matters to you, I’d look at different options! Trunk space is great. It fits our Uppababy Minu Duo double stroller, bags, potty gear, etc. great with the third row up. With the third row down, I never have to worry about getting too much stuff at Costco or Sam’s! Overall, very pleased with this car and happy to have her!

The Grand Highlander is an exceptionally functional vehicle. When car shopping i needed something that could fit 2 RF car seats and I am 6' tall so this was a big factor & we needed something with significantly more storage space as our other vehicle is tiny so we knew we wanted a larger SUV but didnt need 3 rows. The 3rd row has come in so handy and we use it far more often than planned. The 3rd row is even comfy, i can sit back there and have for shorter trips. If its longer, i wouldn't feel as comfortable back there but someone shorter shouldn't have an issue. There's a ton of positives as it checked all of our boxes and more. Negatives: You lose the luxury feeling you get with luxury brands. we came from a BMW and Infiniti, but just felt their large SUVs were far too expensive, so left the luxury category and we definitely notice that in the finishes and overall features. Gas tank capacity. We dont drive a ton - we're city transplants in the suburbs - we walk, we bike and we drove 7500 total miles in our first 18 months of ownership, so we dont drive much but we are constantly filling up this TINY gas tank. We didnt get a hybrid model but if you're sold on this car and you drive a lot, go hybrid because the gas tank is far too small for a vehicle this size. Thats probably my #1 biggest frustration with this car. I personally still wouldnt go back and spend the extra money for a hybrid because its not worth the increased cost, but if i drove 15k miles a year i definitely would.

I have four little kids under 6 in this car and it’s really great. We have a booster seat in the back, a forward facing car seat, an infant seat in one of the captains chairs, and a convertible backward facing car seat in the other captain chair. The trunk space is great, it holds our Veer wagon XL, or our Uppababy Vista with two seats with the third row up. Gas mileage is great. The only complaint is the tether anchors in the third row are only on the passenger side and so we can’t put two forward facing car seats back there and had to move my oldest to a booster sooner than I would have liked. It’s a Toyota so the drive is great, we have had zero mechanical issues. Ceiling vents and sun shades included are a must. Overall we love this car.

We bought this car brand new when we were in a bit of a bind without a dependable car. This car has been very dependable for us. Originally, I wanted bucket seats on the second row but it was unavailable at the time for the hybrid, which was a must for us, but I've been so happy that we have a bench instead. We only have one child, 10-year-old, and the second seat being a bench has been clutch in fitting as many 10-year-old girls in my car as humanly possible. We've had no serious issues; there have been a few recalls but nothing serious that affected us.

I have two kids in front facing car seats and this car is the perfect size! The 3rd row is one of the best I looked at and even with the 3rd row being roomy, I rarely have to put the 3rd row down to haul cargo because it also has room there. I recently was able to fit a $500 costco run with the 3rd row up!!! I have the gas model and average 24-26mpg with a mix of city and hwy driving but all short under 30 minute commutes.

This car is perfect for our growing family. There’s plenty of space in the back for chairs for soccer games, groceries, etc. It could use more space for trips with 4 kids but we were able to use a car top carrier which gave us plenty of room! We only need one or two car seats with the age of our kids so this was perfect. One in the second row, one in the third row This is perfect when you want a bigger suv but don’t want to drive a huge one around all of the time.

I love my grand highlander! I have the limited trim and captains chairs- I love that the center console is removal in the limited trim, it allows my kids to get to the third row easily. It is important to know in the 3rd row there is only tether anchors on the passenger and middle making it restricted for FF car seats. The only issue we’ve had is at times the trunk will not respond to the button to close, the dealership has been unable to recreate it to correct the issue

We went with the hybrid MAX and we are obsessed. It is quick and sporty while easily being able to fit our 3 kids. Our oldest sits in the third row while our baby and 4 year old sit in the second row. The captains chairs make it easy for the 6 year old to get in and out. The second row has heated and cooling seats which is great, but neither kid can use them yet.
