2024 Honda HR-V

I leased this car right before I had my second child, and I found the car to be small but manageable to complete the lease with 2 young children in rear facing car seats. My biggest complaints and issues were how the passenger doors opened. They did not open wide enough and it made for puting the infant seat in and out frustrating. Also when it came to putting my almost 2 year old in her rear facing car seat the clearance was so tight and it was a fight at times for both of us getting in and out of the car seat. I could not wait to turn it in at the end of the lease. It truly just was not the right car for me and my family.

Bought this car after graduating college and owned for 6 years. We had. 2 rear facing car seats and it was TIGHT. Cons: You couldn’t fit a deck of cards in the middle console. Not a true 5 passenger (middle seat is so tiny). No space/amenities for second row. Passenger doesn’t have lock/unlock button. Minimal leg room. Pros: blind spot camera, decent trunk size (fits a mockingbird)

This is a great car for gas mileage and older kids. It does fit 2 car seats comfortably. This style has the back door handles very high for small kids though

The HR-V is a great kid car if you already own it. We have 2 kids and can comfortably fit 2 car seats in the second row. If we want to take the dog, we add a car top carrier. I wouldn’t buy it in my current stage of life, but I’m not looking to sell, either. If you live in an urban area where you’re parking on the street or in tight garage spots, it’s a great option. 2 kids is the max, the back can carry a solid Costco haul.
