2023 Kia Telluride

Features We Love
  • Built-In Second Row Sunshades: An underrated but incredibly practical family feature — built-in sunshades help keep kids comfortable without needing suction-cup window shades everywhere.
  • Flexible Sliding Second Row: The second-row seats slide on tracks, allowing families to adjust legroom between rows and improve third-row access depending on who’s sitting where.
  • Ceiling Air Vents in All Rows: The Telluride does a great job with airflow throughout the cabin, including ceiling vents for second- and third-row passengers.

The Exterior

Exterior Updates

The 2023 Telluride gets:

  • A redesigned grille with a textured 3D radiator-style pattern
  • Updated front fascia styling
  • New taillight detailing
  • Blacked-out exterior trim
  • Raised roof rails for a sportier look
  • Exclusive 20-inch wheels on the X-Line

Kia also kept the fan-favorite Wolf Gray exterior color and added several new colors for 2023, including blue, green, and red options.

The X-Line has a more rugged appearance than the standard Telluride, while the X-Pro leans even further into off-road styling and capability.

First Row

Interior Design Feels Surprisingly Luxurious

One thing Kia continues to do incredibly well is interior design.

The materials throughout the cabin feel thoughtfully designed, and honestly, this Telluride starts to feel like a luxury SUV without the luxury price tag.

Massive Upgraded Screens

For 2023, the Telluride now features:

  • A 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster
  • A 12.3-inch infotainment display
  • A beautifully curved integrated screen setup

Everything feels clean, modern, and high-end.

One of the Best Heads-Up Displays I’ve Used

The upgraded heads-up display in the 2023 Telluride was genuinely impressive.

It shows:

  • Navigation directions
  • Blind spot warnings
  • Adaptive cruise control visuals
  • Lane-change assistance
  • Speed limit assistance

One of the coolest features is how the display visually represents surrounding vehicles in real time. It almost feels like augmented reality while driving.

The Telluride’s Highway Driving Assist system can also help with lane changes and automatically adjust your speed based on posted speed limits.

Family-Friendly Technology Features

Kia packed the Telluride with practical family tech, including:

Blind Spot Camera

This remains one of my favorite Telluride features.

When you activate your turn signal, a live camera feed appears directly in the gauge cluster showing your blind spot. It adds another layer of visibility that’s incredibly useful for busy family driving.

Digital Rearview Mirror

New for 2023, the Telluride now offers a camera-based rearview mirror.

This is a huge win for parents because car seats, passengers, and cargo can easily block visibility in traditional mirrors. With the digital mirror, you still get a perfectly clear view behind the vehicle.

Additional Features Families Will Love (Trim Specific)

  • Heated and ventilated front seats
  • Heated steering wheel
  • Faster wireless charging pad
  • Wi-Fi hotspot capability
  • 3D surround vehicle view
  • Harman Kardon sound system

Second Row

Second Row Comfort is Excellent

The Telluride continues to offer some of the best second-row legroom in the midsize SUV segment.

As someone who is nearly six feet tall and pregnant, I was genuinely comfortable in the second row even with the front seat adjusted generously.

Second-row amenities include:

  • Built-in sunshades
  • Ceiling vents
  • Climate controls
  • USB-C ports integrated into the seatbacks
  • Heated AND ventilated second-row seats

The ventilated second-row seats are especially impressive because that’s a feature usually reserved for luxury SUVs.

Bench Seat Availability

For 2023, the bench seat is only available on:

  • LX trim
  • EX trim

Personally, I’m usually very pro-bench seat because of the flexibility it offers families, but the Telluride’s bench is narrow enough that I actually prefer the captain’s chairs here.

If your primary goal is fitting three kids across regularly, the Telluride would not be my first recommendation.

There are lower anchors and tether anchors in both captains chairs so you can safely put two rear or forward facing car seats in the second row. In the third row there is one set of lower anchors on the driver’s side so you could put two rear-facing car seats back there either using the seat belts or one using the lower anchors. There are also 2 tether anchors in the third row, but, and this is a big but, the 2 tether anchors are next to each other and like I said before, the middle seat is super narrow so really there is only room for one forward facing car seat in the third row. This means you can fit at most 3 forward facing car seats in this car. Another thing to note, is this car does not have the car seat tilt so if you have the bench seat with rear facing car seats on either outboard seat there is no way to get to the third row. I have a Family Planning Map worksheet that helps walk you through all the car seat configurations of any car so you can better plan how a car will work for you and your growing family. I recommend it before any family buys a new car.

Third Row

To get to the third row of this Kia Telluride you have a few options. Either you can shimmy in between the captain chairs if there aren’t rear facing car seats in the way or you can press one of two buttons on the second row seats—either at the top of the seat or on the bottom, which is great so older kids can get in and out of the car by themselves at grade school drop off. The Telluride has one of the roomiest third rows and I could sit all the way back here for a long road trip and be comfortable. But 3 people cannot fit back here. The middle seat is basically nonexistent. It is 5.5” wide, which doesn’t fit anything. Can’t fit a human, can’t fit a car seat, can’t fit a booster seat. But, this is not to harp on Kia. I still think this is a great family car but want you to know this is a 6 passenger car—just ignore the middle seat in the third row.

No items found.

Trunk

Mid size SUVs always disappoint when it comes to the trunk space, but the Kia Telluride does not. There is extra space in the floor that can be separated to throw in gear that you always want handy like blankets, diapers or wipes, or you can open it up to fit something larger. The Uppababy Vista stroller fits well even without the extra floor space. If you’re looking for more trunk space you’re going to either need a minivan or a larger SUV like the Expedition, Suburban or Wagoneer, which is going to give you about twice as much room.

Safety

The 2023 Kia Telluride is an IIHS Top Safety Pick+. It comes with an extensive standard safety with Kia's Drive Wise suite, including Forward Collision-Avoidance, Lane Keeping Assist, Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, and Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go, plus optional features like Surround View Monitor and Blind Spot View Monitor on higher trims.

I love my telluride! A great mid dive SUV option for a family of 2-3 kids. We currently have 2 rotating car seats in the second row using captains chairs. It does make the 3rd row harder to get to, especially I would imagine if you had a 3rd car seat back there. 3rd row could have a tad more leg room but 2nd row is very comfortable and roomy! I would buy my car again!

Great space for family. Easily able to fit two rear facing car seats in captains chairs with one forward facing and a booster in the third row. If needing an adult in the backseats I can leave a captains chair open and still fit a compact rear facing car seat in the third row! Car is spacious and can fit my double stroller in the back with the third row up which was a must when purchasing! Ceiling vents for those HOT southern days! A+++

The Telluride is great for 2 kids, or 3 depending on car seat status. As a mom with 1 in a booster and 1 in a rear facing, it works great to have my kids in the front and friends in the back, or I move my older kid in the back sometimes. It did take almost a year for my son to be able to buckle himself in the booster in the 2nd row as the buckles are buried, but that wasn't that big of a deal. Easy to get in and out of 3rd row on booster side and plenty of room on other side for rotating car seat. I do wish more than 1 seat in back had latch and top tether but they have changed this for newer design. I love the AC set up with overhead vents and rear control. Overall, I am happy with my car!

This is a great car for older kids in boosters or forward facing. The 3rd row works great for the weekly carpool of 4 kids. They have added the car seat tilt so if you need to buckle kids in the 3rd row that would help. The trunk space works great for groceries but would be tight to add a stroller too. But when we travel on road trips we do need to lay it down for more trunk space. The hybrid engine is my favorite part! Regularly getting 30+ mpg for a car this size is fantastic. I also loved the technology that Kia had on the base model vs competitors like Toyota. Feels like a great value for the money and love the exterior design.

This is the second Kia mid-size SUV I've owned (previously had a 2007 Kia Sorento as my college car and drove it until I had a car seat!), and they have both performed so well! This Kia Telluride was purchased in the height of COVID/chip-shortages but was not a pre-order or custom order. Thanks to The Car Mom's reviews, I knew it was between the Telluride and the Palisade for our family -- both were lovely and had all of the things we needed. Ultimately, we went with the Telluride since I was so familiar with Kia. We were lucky to get our hands on one and just paid it off this summer -- wahoo!! It has been amazing -- no issues, reliable, third-row seats that easily fold for hauling all the things (Costco hauls, road trips, wagons, and soccer things etc). A few "random" pros that have been said multiple times to me about the car from others: --the headlights have a soft yellow outline around them that makes caravaning/traveling in groups much easier for others to spot where I am in the lineup -- the second row leg room/space is AMAZING! Several adults and kids have commented on how spacious and comfortable it is -- how much it can fit: a coworker was helping me unload the back for an event (think full wagons, pallets of soda, large sandwich board/sidewalk signs etc) and said, "This is a Telluride, isn't it? Gah! We wanted one but could never get our hands on one. It's so great!" It has been perfect for us and is our family's only daily driver since my husband has a take-home work truck. We take it on road trips, to school, work, all over town, and beyond. It has never given us any issues, and we love it and still get compliments on the style, comfort, and space it provides.

I think the older body style of the Telluride is one of the most boring designs available in mid size SUV's. However, the green color is gorgeous and the black detailing makes it look much nicer. It's had a few quirks (like telling me to watch out for ice when its 100° outside. or getting stuck in first gear after using ethanol gas....). But otherwise, I'm happy with it. Glad it's a lease and I get to try out another car in a few years, though!

This has been a great car for my family of 4 (two kids in car seats). I have the captains chairs. We do keep the 3rd row down which has plenty of space for double stroller, Costco run, etc. However, for road trips where we take our dog or want to have an adult in the back with the kids, we always take my husbands truck since we don't have the bench. It's been a very reliable car, I love how it drives - overall it's been wonderful for our family!

What do I like? - I really like the size of this car and how it drives and the interior brown is a really pretty color and easy to keep clean. - The technology is good but could use wireless carplay and could go without the wireless charging because I always end up using that spot for storage instead. - I got this car as my first mom car when I was still parking on the street in the city and I loved that the mirrors folded in automatically (the palisade at the time didn't). - I have big car seats in the second row captain chairs and they fit well - Uppababy Knox. - the Uppababy full stroller and attachments to make it a double stroller fit well in my trunk with the third row down, not as well with it up What I miss about my volvo: - I like almost everything about it except when I had a volve xc60 before this car, the volvo had buttons on every door to lock/unlock and no cap on the gas - both of those things in the Kia annoy me so bad! I always have my hands full and can't get the back doors unlocked without doing an unknown sequence of hitting the front door buttons and when getting gas with hands full, it was such a luxury to not have that cap. First world problems, but my volvo xc60 was terrible for car seats so I upgraded to this.

I almost bought this car as my mom car. I had a deposit down. I loved the interior, I loved the features. I mean the blind spot cameras on the dash sold me. That and the ceiling vents for second and third row. BUT I spent weeks on the Telluride reddit and just really stressed about the constant serious issues and recalls that kept happening that were pervasive. After months of research on lots of different cars, I'm convinced any car you buy has an equal chance of having an issue. There isn't one brand that is clean. But it just seemed that there were A LOT of issues that were consistent across the Telly population. I wanted to love it- my husband was convinced on it. But I couldn't pull the trigger.

Before you buy a Telluride, know about your local Kia/Hyundai dealership. You will have recalls, and if spending time at the dealership is awful, you will want to trade it in now matter how much you like it. My local dealership was purchased by a large conglomerate and went downhill, leading to long wait times and sub-par service. Okay - the actual vehicle was good! The tech and styling were gorgeous. The continuous screen from the drivers dash to the center screen was super sharp. Also, there isn't a large overhang on the dash, so I felt like I had better visibility. I went from two rear-facing, convertible seats and one big kid, to one booster, one forward facing convertible seat, and a tall preteen while driving my Telluride. The tall preteen was getting pretty uncomfortable in the third row because we had to have the second row pushed back for two tall drivers/front passengers. Ultimately the trade-in was due to the need for 1. more third-row and trunk space, 2. better gas mileage, and 3. less time at the dealership for recalls. In the time I had the vehicle, I was at the dealership for at least 5 recalls. Traded it in for a 2026 Toyota Grand Highlander Hybrid, and couldn't be happier!

I have had the 2027 Kia Telluride X-Pro SX Prestige for about 6 months now. I have a 5 month old and an almost 3 year old. My kids are in the captain's seats - baby is in a Nuna Pipa on the driver side and my toddler is in a Britax Poplar S on the passenger side. I am short, but my husband is very tall and has enough leg room even with the infant seat behind him. We are loving the sun shades, the ceiling vents, the easy fold third row. We only have two children so the captain's seats work for us, but would have gotten a bench if it was available on the higher trims. The space between their seats is a drop zone for shoes, water bottles, toys - and its not exactly easy to get to those things when they fall there. We've had cousins ages 8-13 years old in the third row and they have enough room. We are able to have the third row down most of the time, so trunk space is not an issue. It would be hard to get our mockingbird stroller in there with that row up though and when we've gone on longer road trips with our dog, we still need our carrier up top for more space. Overall, with 2 kids, a 70 lb dog, and tall drivers, so far we are really liking the car. Another kid would probably have us looking for a minivan!

Overall, The 2024 kia telluride is working well for my family of 4 but there are a few minor annoyances. Pros: -Plenty of space - adults can fit in the second or third rows comfortably. With the third row down we fit everything we need for our yearly beach trip. -Drives smooth, feels safe Cons: -Android Auto/Apply CarPlay only works while connected to the UsB cable. My last car connected to it through Bluetooth so I have been missing this. -Adaptive cruise control is finicky - it tends to randomly slow down when nothing is ahead from time to time.

I owned Toyotas before getting the Telluride. We made the switch because we needed more second row leg room for my 6’3 husband and it has been great. We’ve had it for 3.5 years and have never had to take it in for anything other than routine maintenance or recall work. We have captain’s chairs and it does make it a little tricky with two rear facing seats to access the third row but with two kids we haven’t needed the third row much. We took it on a road trip from Austin to New Orleans with the third row in use and the trunk space was still large enough to hold 4 adults and 1 baby (pack n play included) worth of packing without any issues.

Test drove this car after driving a Pilot for years. Really liked the interior. Second row was really roomy and seemed like a great experience. The one we drove had captains chairs and I really liked that. Loved the ceiling vents. All the space went to the second row and trunk seems pretty small! Passed on the exact car we test drove because it had been in an undisclosed accident, but would absolutely consider in the future.

Telluride has been an awesome SUV for our family. Very reliable with super functional cargo space. The 2nd row captains chairs fit our 2 rear facing car seats really well. We live with the 3rd row down to fit our 2 dogs (use the anchors for their tethers). The trunk is super square and easy to pack, the recessed floor in the trunk is one of my favorite things. Tech has been consistently great, I have everything I could want and it's been reliable as well. I love the interior of the car, especially the light headliner and faux wood trim. Cupholders around the center console are fantastic for all the water bottles and coffees, etc. (iykyk). My primary complaint is the front seats - I personally think they're uncomfortable on long stretches and I've never been able to get the driver's seat adjusted to my liking. The steering is pretty floaty, which again is tiring for me on long drives. Also, not an everyday problem for us, but with our car seat set up, it's very difficult to use the 3rd row for passengers. Overall, fantastic family SUV and I would recommend it!

Just here to give credit where credit is due… because this girl has been doing her JOB. 😂❤️ Spacious ✔️ Comfortable ✔️ Looks good ✔️ Perfect for road trips ✔️ Mom life approved ✔️ Fits all the things we somehow always need ✔️ Still obsessed ✔️✔️✔️ She’s basically the family chauffeur, adventure buddy, grocery getter, toddler taxi, and occasional therapy session all in one. 😂 Would I choose my Telluride again? Absolutely. She’s reliable, roomy, stylish, and just the right amount of bougie. ✨

Trunk space is limited when 3rd row is up, and since we have captains chairs I try to keep it up for safety. With 2 cards seats it’s impossible to access 3rd row, so we have to remove infant seat to access. I also didn’t realize we wouldn’t be able to sit in the back with the newborn since both 2nd rows seats have a car seat. Overall it is a super comfortable car, love the rear ceiling air vents, lots of cup holders, and lots of safety features. Overall I would recommend, but if there’s a bench seat option but I would prefer that.

I love all aspects of this car. I have the SX Prestige Hybrid, upgrading from my 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk (that had the v8 hemi). I love that i can still get up and go, but now my boys have so much more room, especially to themselves. The built in sunshade, moonroof, and specifically the rear car vents were a top seller in my book, as well as it being in the top spots for safety the last few years. Add in that I get the same "umph" but almost 600 miles on a tank that is 7 gallons smaller than me jeep?! Amazing. One downfall is the screen. The climate control is hidden behind the steering wheel. You can pop it out or use the buttons below, but I feel like they could have done better with that attribute. Otherwise, I am enjoying driving in this, and cant wait to drive it from the east coast to west coast when we move back next year.

This is a great mid sized SUV for our family of 4, especially for the price! This car has the perfect amount of tech without having to touch a screen at every move (hello physical stick shift and manual buttons under the display). Roomy enough for 2 rear-facing car seats, with storage room to spare. The interior feels luxurious for a car in this price range. I’ve had this vehicle for 2 years and have had zero issues. Very pleased with this vehicle and would recommend for those ready to move onto a 3rd row SUV.

I love the vehicle overall. For me, the Telluride works well as a city vehicle. The trunk space is a little small if you need the 3rd row up.

I feel like this has not been covered in the media and that @TheCarMom and anyone interested in a Kia Telluride should be very wary. Yes, it looks great on the outside and it’s comfortable on the inside, but the Kia technically is horrible. I would start the car and ALL of the warning systems would go off, telling me to check every safety feature and that it was currently not working. I would take it to the local dealer and they could not replicate the issue and would give it back to me, just for it to happen over and over again. My car spent over 6 months total at the dealership. They replaced several different parts in the car, called in a national Kia engineer who travels around to help fix issues that the local mechanics couldn’t solve, and still every single time they would call me to come pick up my car, either the same day or the next day the issue would happen again. I eventually also lost MPH and turn signals along with the cameras attached to the turn signals and had to fight Kia tooth and nail to get a buy back. It was only after I filed a complaint with the BBB that they finally agreed to buy back my car. Which also was a lengthy process. So while the car looks very cool and nice and modern and almost Range Rover like, I would urge anyone considering to think again. They do not have a good grasp on all the great technology they’ve included in the car and if something breaks they will say they can fix it, but there is a big chance they won’t be able to and you’ll spend most of your time driving a loaner. Eventually, if it’s under warranty, they will give up trying to fix it because they can’t charge you and in their eyes it’s wasted time because they aren’t making money off fixing your lemon. I ended up getting a Toyota Sienna and have been happy with it so far.

Had this car for 5 years now, we officially own it and would definitely buy a telluride again when the time comes. As a family of 4 (one forward facing and one rear facing) we all fit very comfortably! 2 tall drivers both me and my husband can both adjust our seat however we need even with a rear facing car seat behind us (thank you school drop-off and pickup for making us switch that). I am 5’8” and have ridden in the 3rd row many times when family is in town visiting. I can fit, not the best of leg room, but enough. I have put my forward facing kiddo back there too with enough room for him. We have the bench in the 2nd row and love it. Unfortunately because of car seats being installed the buckle/seatbelt are covered so that middle seat is unusable, but that has never been an issue for our family. We just use the 3rd row if needed. I love that there are actually buttons for things and I don’t have to click around on the screen for everything. Love the convenience features in my trim level (shoutout to the ventilated seats. Lifesaver in NC over the summer!) Overall I’m still in love with my car even 5 years later and very thankful that’s what we went with! Thank you Kelly for all your work and car reviews, you helped us narrow down our search and gave me so much confidence going into the dealership!!

I absolutely love my 2024 Kia Telluride SX X-Line! It has been such a great family vehicle for us, and there are so many little things about it that make everyday driving easier. The technology and infotainment system are probably one of my favorite features. The screen is great, everything is easy to use, and I really appreciate all of the safety features and alerts. The safety alerts are helpful without feeling overly annoying, and I feel like the Telluride does a great job of keeping me aware of what’s happening around me. It also drives really well and handles nicely for a larger SUV. We LOVE the panoramic sunroof. It makes the interior feel so open and bright, especially with our daughter in the back. We have the second-row captain’s chairs, which work really well for our family. We don’t plan on having more than two kids (although we may possibly be an only-child family), so having the captain’s chairs and easy access to the third row is perfect for us. We actually keep the third row folded down quite a bit, which gives us a HUGE amount of cargo space. It’s especially nice for Costco runs and bigger grocery hauls. The Jungle Green color is another favorite. I get compliments on it all the time! It’s such a unique color and makes the Telluride stand out without being too flashy. As a mom, one of the things I really appreciate is how well our daughter’s car seat fits. She is still rear-facing in a Graco Turn2Me, and it fits well in the second row with the captain’s chairs. The rotating feature also works nicely without feeling cramped. Overall, I’ve been incredibly happy with my Telluride. It feels comfortable, safe, spacious, practical, and still really nice to drive. It has checked all the boxes for what we wanted in a family SUV, and I would absolutely recommend it to another family looking for a three-row SUV!

Overall, I absolutely love my 2025 Kia Telluride. It looks great, drives really well, and has been a comfortable vehicle for our family. I love the overall design and the way it handles, and it has plenty of features that make everyday driving enjoyable. My one major complaint is the seatbelt setup in the second-row captain’s chairs. It is incredibly difficult, if not impossible, to properly buckle a booster seat in those seats. Because of this, I had to move my 7-year-old son to the third row, which isn't ideal. The trunk space is good for everyday use, especially for groceries, sports gear, and normal family activities. However, I don't think we would have enough cargo space for a longer road trip, especially with the third row in use. We would likely have to pack very carefully or find additional storage options. Despite those two drawbacks, I really love the Telluride. It’s stylish, drives well, and is a great family vehicle overall. I just wish Kia had designed the second-row seatbelt placement to be more booster-seat friendly and provided a little more cargo space for family road trips.

We have two kids, ages 10 and 8. For our day to day life, this car is excellent. I wanted something big enough to use for regular carpools and road trips, but something easier to drive and park than a full-size suv. I love how the second row seats are on tracks to easily adjust legroom for everyone. Sunshades in the second row and ceiling vents in second and third rows are great for our kids’ comfort for our hot midwestern summers. My husband and I find the front seats comfortable, and I really like that the buttons for my most-used features are physical buttons. My only downsides are that the front cubby space in front of the cupholders is awkwardly spaced - can fit a phone but is shallow and deep and partially covered by the dash, so isn’t an easy grab. Seems like a silly thing but it’s a high-use area and it feels a little clunky design-wise. And the third row is really only functional for two people (we tried to carpool with family on a hiking trip to get to trailheads with 7 of us in the car and that was a MISTAKE, turns out my hips can’t fit in a 6” wide middle seat haha!). There have been even several recalls but they’ve been fixed quickly. We get great gas mileage for the size of the car. Overall would highly recommend to families with two kids.

We rented this car for a little over a week when traveling through Colorado. It was great; it fit both our kids in carseats: one in a convertible car seat, one in a Nuna infant car seat. We were very happy with it, and it encouraged us to look at both the Telluride and Palisade for our next vehicle.

Overall the telluride is a great family car. We like the way it rides, the interior features, and the leg room. My husband and I are both tall. We have one care seat in the back and will be installing a second very soon as we are expecting our second baby. Second row is comfy and functional (we have bucket seats). Third row I haven’t sat in much as we usually have it down for additional space, but the few times I’ve sat back there it’s relatively comfy. It’s been mostly reliable for us. I will say at about 75,000 miles we had to do some work on the suspension. And recently had to pay a hefty amount to replace the air conditioning (this was at about 95,000 miles).

I absolutely love my fully loaded 2022 Kia Telluride. It has been an excellent family vehicle—comfortable, reliable, spacious, and practical without feeling like you are driving a huge SUV. My husband and I are both tall, so interior space was a major priority for us. The Telluride delivers, especially in the second row. We have captain’s chairs, and the legroom is genuinely impressive. We use an Evenflo Revolve 360 Extend rear-facing car seat, and our son can sit behind the driver without the seat touching the driver’s seat. That is a huge win for taller parents and something that made a real difference for our family. The seats are very comfortable, even on longer drives, and the overall cabin feels roomy and well designed. We have not had any problems beyond normal, routine maintenance, which has made ownership easy and stress-free. The technology is fine for a 2022 model, though it is probably the area that feels a little dated compared with newer vehicles. My one real complaint is having to choose a driver profile every time you get in. It delays the Bluetooth connection, which can be mildly annoying when you are trying to get going quickly. Still, that is a small inconvenience compared with everything else this SUV does so well. Overall, I would absolutely recommend the 2022 Kia Telluride—especially to families, tall drivers, or anyone who wants a comfortable, spacious SUV with great second-row room.

It's a great car for our family. We bought when we had two kids and even with a third now, it still fits us well. Passenger space is great, drives well, and sliding 2nd row rails mean you can still access 3rd with a LATCH car seat installed.

We have the 2023 EX and LOVE it. I searched carmax for a long time in order to find one with a bench seat and we have been so happy with it. I currently have 2 children and 1 on the way. One is forward facing and one is still rear facing. I’m planning on moving the oldest child to the 3rd row once the baby is here. I don’t think we’ll have a problem with trunk space as I do not take a stroller with me anyway! The only thing that I wish were a little better was the gas mileage, even on eco mode I get around 22mpg. But absolutely not a dealbreaker as we love the car so much!

I love how my Telluride drives so much! It’s been the perfect family car with my 2 boys (ages 2 and 6). We got this car right before having our second to have some more space. It’s so comfortable to drive, and feels bigger without feeling too big to maneuver. I will never go back to not having ceiling vents again. What a game changer for rear-facing car seats. My biggest pet peeve is controlling the rear climate. The ceiling vents are amazing, but the rear climate you have to turn on basically each time you turn the car on, and you have to first select rear by pressing the button, and then hitting the touch screen to adjust.. this is just not super user-friendly when driving, and kind of annoying nonetheless, but I still love the car! One other annoyance is the Auto on/off when you stop in a drive-thru or something. It drives me insane, and there’s not a way to turn this off. We have captains chairs in the second row, and the 2024 EX model does not have car seat friendly tilt, which would come in handy for how often our 80lb golden retriever rides in the third row. However, he manages to squeeze through the aisle and sit back there comfortably! My husband loves driving the telluride. He always says how smooth it drives and it’s just a great car to travel in for a family of 4 + dog! Gas Mileage is pretty great too.

I absolutely LOVE my telluride! My previous car was a Kia Optima and I loved that too, but wanted a bigger car. We’re talking about switching my husband to an SUV and have been thinking about getting the 2027 telluride because I love them so much! The only downfall of my 2022 is no car seat tilt, and my model doesn’t have a power trunk. The safety tech on the car is amazing! Has actually saved me from rear-ending people a couple times. Whoops lol.

As a mom of three — ages 10, 4, and 1 — I can honestly say I’m SO happy with my 2027 Kia Telluride with captain’s chairs! ❤️ So far, I’ve been extremely satisfied with my purchase. It feels luxurious, the interior is beautiful, the exterior is sleek, and it’s incredibly comfortable to drive. The ride is smooth and it truly feels like a more expensive vehicle. Space was a huge factor for me. My 4-year-old and 1-year-old are both in car seats in the second-row captain’s chairs and have plenty of room. We can still adjust the front seats comfortably without making the kids feel cramped. My 10-year-old actually prefers the third row! We also looked at the Chevy Traverse, and he said the Telluride’s third row felt much roomier and more comfortable to him. I love that he has his own space while the two little ones are in the captain’s chairs. I’m also really impressed with the design. It feels upscale and family-friendly without feeling like a huge “mom car.” 😂 I highly recommend the Telluride for families who need three rows but don’t want to move up to a full-size SUV — or the full-size price tag. For our family of five, it has been the perfect balance of space, comfort, style, and luxury. I’m proud to drive it and VERY happy with my purchase! ❤️

Wish they had bench seat option in the higher level trim. It is quite difficult to fit 3 car seats (2 forward facing, 1 rear facing) comfortably, especially with a large husband to try and squeeze in the back to help with buckling.

I love my telluride. I take long roadtrips with my dog and drive my nieces and nephews around and there is so much room. I love having the bench to make traveling with my dog easy to fold down the back seats for luggage and still have him safe in his seat. I also haul a lot of stuff for events and am shocked at how much I can fit in this car. The tech is great, and overall I feel like I got great bang for my buck compared to other vehicles I looked at. I upgraded from a ford edge and it was a great next step up!

With two kids, I really do love my car! It does everything I need it to. I love the four cup holders on the console that I have super easy access to. It’s comfortable, and I really enjoy the look of it. I’m often moving around booster seats and bringing extra kids, and everyone seems comfortable no matter where they sit. The third row can get tight if you’re trying to fit three, but overall, it functions great for us. I really like having the extra storage under the floor of the trunk, and I feel like I have quite a bit of space even with the third row up. Especially now that I’m not always taking a stroller, but even when I was, I had plenty of room, particularly with the third row down.

Great for two kids in boosters/car seats. If it had car seat tilt it would be perfect for 3 little kids. I am a tall adult and have sat comfortably in the 3rd row. Love this car and have had zero regrets

Beautiful car\! We’ve received so many compliments in just the first month of owning it. The exterior has such a sleek, upscale look—it honestly gives Range Rover vibes. I absolutely LOVE the two\-tone black and brown interior\. The seats and finishes make the entire car feel so luxurious\. We also went with the hybrid, and the gas mileage has been amazing so far. Another huge selling point for us was Kia’s 10\-year/100,000\-mile powertrain warranty\. We plan to keep this car for many years, so having that extra peace of mind is a major plus. Overall, we couldn’t be happier with our Telluride\! The only reason I knocked off a star is because of the dual wireless chargers. They’re a great idea in theory, but unfortunately they barely work and tend to overheat our phones.

We bought this knowing we’d eventually have two kids in car seats, and it was honestly perfect for us. There’s lots of room for everything you need with kids, including a stroller, and it’s been such an easy family car to live with. We now have three kids in car seats, which is the only reason I’ve marked it down a bit for third-row space. The third row is definitely on the tighter side, especially for an adult passenger. We currently have one of the third-row seats down, and even then, the trunk space is pretty limited once you add in a stroller. I have to tilt and bungee-cord my stroller in to make room for anything else. That said, I can reach my daughter in the third row through the space between the second row and the side of the car, which is really helpful. Even with three kids, though, I LOVE this car. I genuinely never thought I’d be someone who felt strongly about a car, but here we are! It’s been such a great family vehicle for us.

2024 Kia Telluride Prestige X-Pro with Terracotta Leather Seats. Bought this Kia new and have driven it for 3 years and love it! Just welcomed our first baby this year and so far still loving this car! Didn’t know the importance of ceiling vents until the car mom. That is a must! Also has built in window shades which helps keep the back seat cool. I opted for bucket seats with planning on having 2 kids (maybe 3). Overall love this car!

I was pushing for the VW atlas when we were looking to buy a car but my husband insisted on test driving the telluride. I’m so glad he did because I can’t say enough good things about this car! What really sold me was the overhead air vents (which I feel is a must with little ones) & the leg space in the 3rd row. We opted for captain seats knowing that we were only planning for 2 kids but even the bench seat felt spacious. Another perk I didn’t realize I’d love until I actually owned it was the amount of cup holders. I never feel like I’m running out of space for my drinks. The ride is very smooth too and the technology is great. The only feature I wish it had was cameras to watch the kids in the second and third rows but that wasn’t a deal breaker and not expected at the price point. Highly recommend this car for anyone looking for a SUV but not needed something as big as an expedition or suburban. The telluride is the perfect 3 row SUV especially for “smaller” families that don’t need tons of room for car seats but still want a lot of room for strollers, wagons, etc.

As a mom of 2 little boys, I honestly love almost everything about our Telluride SX. It’s one of those vehicles that makes you realize how much the little family-friendly details matter. First, the ride is AMAZING. It drives more like a car than a big SUV, and that makes a huge difference for everyday driving. Even here in Puerto Rico, where our roads are basically a collection of potholes, the Telluride handles them surprisingly well and feels comfortable and solid. The family features are what really sold me. The ceiling vents for the second and third rows are a MUST in a hot climate like ours. I also love that there are USB-C chargers throughout the vehicle because, let’s be honest, maybe not now, but when they are older, there’s no room for fighting over a charger. One of my favorite features is the ability to use the audio/voice system so the third row can actually hear what’s going on up front. When you have little kids in the back, not having to yell across the entire SUV is a game changer. And the driver’s seat massage? YES. After driving kids around all day, I feel like the car should be taking care of me too!! The downside for our family is the captain’s chairs. With two car seats, they work well right now. But when the boys get older and start bringing friends along, I can already see the problem: who sits where and next to who… And there’s another issue I didn’t fully appreciate; we have a double stroller (Vista V2). With the third row UP, there is decent cargo space, just not enough for us. The stroller basically takes up the entire remaining space. With 2 kids and the stroller, I’m probably not going to be able to make the Costco or a big supermarket run. My other complaint is that the Telluride SX does not have wireless Apple CarPlay. You have to connect your phone with a USB cable. It’s a small thing, I know.. Overall? I LOVE this SUV. It feels luxurious without being impractical, it drives beautifully, and it genuinely feels like a family car.

We bought a Kia Telluride because it was the SUV of the Year and we fell in love when we test drove it. I love the body style, I’m obsessed with the dark green color, and the space is perfect for us! We are constantly hauling hockey gear, or dog, or camping gear, or double stroller and it’s perfect for us. It has been reliable, although now six years in and over 100,000 miles we have had some repairs.

I do love my telluride. It’s a hard car to get away from too. Its size is unmatched (I regularly have 3 adults and 4 children in my car). HOWEVER, all of my window trim fell off within weeks of owning it and I have rust (which has also been there from the beginning). The window trim was fixed and the rust spot allegedly was also fixed but I can still see it but it hasn’t grown and it’s tiny. She’s hard to replace. The bang for your buck is so good. I’ve been desperately trying but the size is truly unmatched. I fear I will be going full size next time.

I’ve loved my Telluride! We bought it just before we had our first child, and we quickly grew, having 3 boys within 4 years. So now I have 3 kids still in car seats in the telluride. It has the captains chairs, so third row access isn’t very easy, BUT we’ve been able to make it work. With the third row up, we don’t have a ton of trunk space, but again, we make it work! If we are going on a road trip we take my husband’s truck for more storage space! I’ve had good luck with my car in that we’ve barely had anything wrong with it, other than a couple recalls that were all quickly fixed. We talk about how we would like more space with 3 growing boys, but also can make this work if you need to!

Really liked the test drive of this! I tried out the hybrid version. Didn't drive as big as I thought which was nice. Ultimately, I wasn't super impressed with the seating of the 3rd row (unless you need to buckle your American Girl doll in that center seat - IYKYK). Really liked the smooth drive and tech and LOVED the way it looks in general, especially with the nightfall edition. Wish the bench came on the higher trim levels, but felt the highest trim with the bench had the bells and whistles we were looking for. I am partial to EVs so went with the EV9 instead but really liked this car and thought it would fit our family well if we were looking for a gas car. All in all, definitely think its a great option for a family of 5!

Car has been great for 1 kid (now 2.5) and a 100lb dog. More than enough room for road trips. We leave the third row down, we’ve never used it. Nuna pipa infant bucket seat and Nuna Rava convertible seat have both fit nicely front-back and side-side. Adding a 2nd kid in a few weeks and feeling like it will still be a great comfortable option for our family. The only downside is the trim level we got does not include heated seats, but that’s our fault.

Our family has loved our telluride. We have captain’s chairs which make it easy to access the third row if needed. The third row is surprisingly spacious for adults. This car works perfectly for my family! The bucket seats in the back and perfect for a booster and car seat. There was plenty of room for a rear facing car seat. We have a 20 year old son that will sometimes ride in the 3rd row and at though it’s a bit squished for him, it still works. I enjoy all of the tech and safety things the car has to offer. I ended up getting this car because I got into an accident with my previous telluride and I felt like it did a great job protecting me and my child!

This car has been great as my family grew! When we bought the car we had one child and now have three. I recommend the captains chairs because it makes the car feel more spacious. The only negative thing I’ve experienced is with the tech (Apple CarPlay specifically). The tech seems a little dated and the Apple CarPlay is extremely temperamental. Sometimes it will work just fine, other times it won’t work at all, and often times it works fine for 30 minutes or so, then randomly shuts off. I’m not sure if that’s an issue with my car specifically, or a common issue with Kia Tellurides. Overall I highly recommend this car!

Love the styling and comfort of my car. The 360 degree cameras are one of my favorite features. I’m getting about 21mpg. I wish it had more cupholders!!

Lots of great trunk space with the 3rd row down. Do feel the seats in the second row can be a little challenging to put down (don’t do it often because of car seats). Drives well!

The 2023 KIA Telluride is a great option for a family with two kids. With captain chairs, I wouldn’t recommend it for a larger family with multiples in car seats. Excellent driver leg room with a rear facing car seat installed (tall drivers 6ft + included). Love the ceiling vents. Would prefer a little more A/C power with initial car start (can take a bit to kick on in the Florida heat). Decent trunk space with all rows up. Drive is nice. I prefer the palisade interior

This car is the SX Prestige X-Line. This car has a lot of tech and amenities for the price point, that is what sold me. I loved the exterior/interior color combo and I received so many compliments on it. It had plenty of space in the second row for car seats. We have two nuna revv car seats, both were rear facing for a period of time. This car would not work for my family and lifestyle if we had a third kid in a car seat.

I absolutely love my Kia Telluride. It has been the perfect car with our 2-year-old son, and I am eager to see how it will handle with 2 kids when our daughter joins us later this year. It has been great as far as space and comfort go. I have noticed that my CarPlay can sometimes be laggy, but that is really my only complaint for the whole vehicle.

When we got this car, I was DEADSET on a telluride. It was the car to get. At the time we only had one kid. Now we have 3. I have enjoyed the car but would probably pick differently in hindsight just due to space with 3 toddlers and the limits of the third row. It had had limited issues however and drives well.

We bought our 2027 Telluride a few months ago before we had a baby and needed something big enough for 3 kids (5 years, 2 years, and baby). Overall I love almost everything about this car! The outside is a cool mom car, it drives well and has a great turning radius, and inside has all the tech, air vents, and cup holders you could ask for. The third row is a little tighter than I would have liked for my tall 5 year old in his convertible car seat, but we expected that to be the case until we switch him to another car seat or booster. My only negatives about this car after owning it for a few months are: the child lock control button for back doors and back windows are connected. There are times that I want to child lock the windows (like going through the car wash), but forget to turn it off and then my kids are unable to get out of the car by themselves because the doors are locked. The second thing is that there is not a way to child lock the heated seats in the second row and the control button is on the door where my 2 year old can reach and play with the button. Neither of these things make me regret buying this car, but they are kind of annoying features I wish were different. Still very happy with the 2027 Telluride though and how it fits our family!

This is my mom’s car, she routinely transport at least one grandkid in a car seat or booster. Overall it functions well, but the limited tether anchors in the 3rd row is frustrating as grandkids get bigger and sometimes need more than one back there forward facing. 2nd row is comfy as an adult passenger. I think the tech is a little clunky, the touch screen is fine, but it feels like too many “clicks” to do something. Trunk space with the 3rd row up is adequate, definitely not huge but totally fine for day to day.

I have the EX X-Line with captains seats. I wish I would have followed the car mom sooner and done a bench! I love this car and all the safety features. A few negatives, I wish I didn’t have to plug in my phone for Apple CarPlay to work. I also have struggled installing my Nuna rava rear facing car seats due to the shape of the seats. They “rebound” terribly if not tightened incredibly tight. A different car seat may work better. The third row if definitely only for 2 shorter people. And with the 3rd row up I can’t fit my tandem Joie double stroller. Hoping to get a compact side by side soon and see if it fits. Overall I still love this car for the price and the size. My husband and I are both tall and fit comfortably in front of big car seats.

4 accessible cupholders from the drivers seat is a game changer! Car seats have their own cupholders so basically all 4 are for the adults in the front! Third row is way more leg room than most other in its class which is nice even as an adult sitting back there.

We purchased the Kia Telluride new and have been driving it for 5+ years (over 125k miles). No issues to date! Access to the third row through the captains chairs is tight, but doable. We’re expecting baby #3 and plan to move our oldest child (high back booster) to the third row. The trunk has decent space, though we do need to use a roof box when traveling for extra storage.

Love my Telluride. Opted for the bench seat because as a mom I love to be able to fit my girls and all their friends in the car when needed. When the 3rd row is not in use the space in the truck is great for storing our sports equipment & our dog! My only complaint is the lack of wireless Apple CarPlay - not a deal breaker for me but would be a feature I'd expect to see on this car

The Telluride is a hard no for anyone who might have 4 kids in forward facing or high back booster car seats at the same time. I have 3 kids and we had one forward facing in a captains seat and one rear facing in the other captain seat and one rear facing in the 3rd row. Trunk space isn’t amazing but it holds way more than you might think. I love the ceiling air vents and it has all the technology I could need. It’s wired CarPlay which I thought would be annoying but it forces me to charge my phone which is a win. My biggest issue with the telluride is the anchors only being on the third row for the middle seat and the right seat but not the left. I’d love to have my twins forward facing on the outside seats on the third row and have one captains seat folded most of the time for ease of climbing in but that’s not possible. Thankfully my twin in a captains seat is under the weight limit for Latch so his seat can move forward to allow my third row twin to climb back there and I can reach to buckle.

Perfect midsize SUV with 1-2 kids. Once we had to utilize the third row for another kiddo, the trunk space is very limited. Our double stroller is extremely hard to fit in the car with the 3rd row up, and our wonderfold wagon does not fit with the 3rd row up. Overall comfort and reliability has been great!

I absolutely LOVED our Kia Telluride! It was such a great family SUV and honestly one of my favorite vehicles we’ve owned. It worked really well for our family when we had 3 smaller kids. But as the kids got bigger, we started running into some space issues. Once we had a bigger kid regularly sitting in the 3rd row, it felt pretty cramped back there. We also couldn’t comfortably fit all 5 of us AND our 2 large dogs in the vehicle together, which became a problem for our family. The trunk space was another issue for us. We always have sports equipment taking up a good portion of the back, so with the 3rd row in use, there just wasn’t enough cargo space left for everything we needed. That said, this SUV drove BEAUTIFULLY. We put about 80,000 miles on ours and never had a single issue. It was comfortable, smooth, and just an all-around enjoyable vehicle to drive. And the technology was one of my favorite things about it. The infotainment system felt modern and intuitive, and the interior was absolutely beautiful. It felt much more upscale than a lot of other SUVs in its class. Ultimately, we outgrew it rather than having any real complaints about the vehicle itself. We recently moved to a minivan because we needed the extra space and functionality for our current stage of life. But I would 100% consider going back to a Telluride someday when I don’t need to use the 3rd row every single day. For a family with younger/smaller kids who wants an SUV, I think it’s a fantastic option!

I went from a Toyota Sienna into the Telluride. #1 love the smooth drive, I have enjoyed being higher off the road, but it drives and parks just as easily as a car. #2 Second row is plenty spacious, had convent charging plugs for the kids— overall very pleased. #3- to this day and 90k miles we’ve had zero reliability issues and have only needed routine maintenance and we drive a lot— think 50 miles a day minimum. Cons: Third row access is tricky with two tethered forward facing car seats— the kids do just fine getting back there it’s adults that are tricky. The third row does the trick but definitely isn’t huge. Seatbelts in the second row are recessed and nearly impossible for a booster age child to buckle— anchors however are easily accessible. My biggest con is a small tank— it doesn’t guzzle gas but it uses a lot— and a 17 gallon tank barely lasts me a week. I would much prefer a 21+ gallon tank so I’m not at the gas station regularly. Overall I have been very pleased with this purchase!
