For our family of 4, this has been a great car! We have two young kids in car seats and have had ample room. For reference we have used the Nuna Pipa, Nuna Rava, and Nuna Aace. The car handles extremely well and we have always felt very safe (our primary concern when buying a car). I am not the biggest fan of the track pad, although I will say you get used to it and it’s nice to not have finger marks on your screen. I’ve found the tech can sometimes be glitchy though. The third row is tight and really should just be for young kids. The removable middle seat is really nice and gives flexibility based on your needs. For a family with 2 kids, it is a perfect car with generous trunk space (with and without the third row up!).

This car worked very well for our family when we had two kids. The second row bench fits two car seats comfortably but the middle seat would be very tight for a passenger. We would keep the third row (only two seats) down to increase our trunk space. Now that our family has grown, we are only able to fit all of us in it when absolutely necessary. The third row is only 2 seats and is very cramped even for our 8 and 11 year olds. Additionally, the third row has non removable headrests which makes the car seat situation incredibly challenging.

I have an Acura MDX with bucket seats in the middle. I do love the car and how it runs, and technology features are great. With one baby, plenty of space and easy access to third row. No ceiling vents in the middle and third row though.

Honestly such a great vehicle for two kids in car seats! Slightly limited space for taller drivers with certain car seat set ups. HUGE trunk with third row down. Hoping to go for 3 across in a few months!

This car isn’t flashy, but it is the best for our day to day. I keep the third row down at all times and have so much space in the second row and trunk. Our family took a 10 day, 2500 mile road trip in it this summer and it was the perfect size for us. Couldn’t imagine driving anything bigger. We love this car and plan to drive it for many more years.

I ride in this car with my mom and my two kids pretty frequently. My car seats are easy to install, but rear facing convertible car seats can be tight. The touchpad instead of a screen drives me mad! It's a very comfortable car though and a great car for a grandma! If there were rear ceiling vents that would also help. Trunk space is amazing! And the fold down cup holder in the middle seat is great too.

I really love my MDX as a mom of two children in car seats. I do think if we ever have another, we would need to get a more spacious vehicle as the third row is very tight even for a child in a FF car seat, however the second row is very spacious with plenty of leg room. With the third row down, the trunk provides plenty of space. The trunk does have a lift up area for additional storage which I enjoy using for all my emergency supplies. My MDX has been extremely reliable for the past 5 years. I enjoy the comfort, driving experience and tech. My 2018 model has Apple carplay which is a game changer too. The center console is spacious and the infotainment system is user friendly. I have two cup holders in the front, door cup holders in the second row and there are cup holders in the third row as well. No ceiling vents, but the second row gets decent airflow. I would definitely recommend this to somebody with one or two children- I just would plan on rarely using the third row!

This is our second MDX, and probably not our last. It’s a GREAT car. It is large enough to have the space I need without feeling like I’m driving a bus. It drives smoothly. Maintenance needed was like our previous MDX—just brakes, wipers, and routine maintenance. My oldest son learned to drive in this car and said he felt comfortable and safe (and cool 😎). Takes premium fuel, but gets great gas mileage. My only complaint is the lack of touch screen for certain things.

I have had a 2016 Acura MDX for about 8 years and I cannot say enough good things about it. The black interior is classy and comfortable and impressive when you get in. The second row fits 3 across (I have 3 Clek foonfs, 1 rear facing and 2 forward facing) and they fit comfortably with space between. I also love how it drives. It is powerful and quick and doesn’t feel huge. My favorite thing about this car is the reliability. I have not had one issue since owning it and I love having that confidence in my car. Before this I owned an Acura RDX (the smaller 2 row version of this car) and an SUV flipped into my driver side door while I was stopped waiting to exit a shopping center onto the access road. My car was totaled but I didn’t have a scratch on me. I now live Acuras because of how safe it kept me. I have 3 kids and need to upgrade to a larger vehicle as they get older. I wish Acura made a larger SUV because I would be sold! The only downside to this car is the third row is pretty small (only does 2) but we keep it down for the trunk space and rarely use it. Overall I love my MDX!!

I currently have two swivel car seats (Baby Jogger & Graco Turn2Me) with room for me to sit in the middle seat. Lots of trunk space! I wish the second row had ceiling vents.

I think the MDX is a great family car, it has pros and cons like any vehicle! Pro wise, it's a Honda engine, which makes it reliable, they run for a long time, and they hold their value. The model we have of the MDX is comfortable and beautiful inside, the trunk space is great if the third row is down and it has a very useful trunk "cubby" that gives a little extra storage. For cons, this is my primary car (mom), when my son was in a rear-facing car seat he sat in the 2nd row, passenger side. While it is a spacious 2nd row, the larger rear-facing model we had didn't leave much leg room for my 6'1" husband in the passenger seat. Another con, if you need the 3rd row seating, there's just about nothing of this 3rd row that our family would personally recommend - even our golden retriever gets claustrophobic back there. As a soon-to-be family of four who travels quite a bit in this vehicle, I'm concerned we'll have to look for a new car sooner than planned simply because the 2nd row (in our model) are captains seats, and there is no where for the dog to be comfortable (crate doesn't fit in the trunk even with the 3rd row down). So all this to say, I love this car, I think it's beautiful, it's a fun drive, it's a nice sized SUV, but it has it's space challenges on the interior.

It’s is an amazing car. The amount of room in the second row is very good. Just wish the middle was removable like the newer models. Wish the car also had ac vents in the ceiling in the back. Mpg is great but premium gas is an expense you need to take into account. I love the amount a space it provides especially the trunk when you don’t need to use third row. My concern with buying it again is when I add more kids will it be as roomy or will I have our grown it.

My Acura MDX technology package is a great car for our family of 4. It's usually just 3 of us driving however we have occasional car pool. My kids are is booster seats and there is plenty of second row leg room. The second row is on tracks which is great if we need more space in the second or third row. The middle seat is removable which is amazing for third row access if we need it! Otherwise when we have the seat in we use it for cupholders and snacks. Three across did not work for us with boosters and a car seat, However there are lower anchors in all three seats and tether actors in the two seats in third row. Third row is perfect for littles but not much space for adults. No ceiling vents and no vents at all in third row.

We love our Acura MDX overall. It’s been a great car for us and our two kids. However, now looking at potentially adding another child to the crew, we would probably want a bigger option. The trunk is great when you have the third row down, but when that third row is up it’s tiny. But it drives well, and is a great car. We could make it work for three, but would prefer to just get something bigger.

The Acura MDX is a great mid sized SUV. It’s sporty and beautiful. It’s not as roomy on the interior as other midsize SUV’s but it does fit my family of 5 comfortably. No one is in a car seat any longer but if so, it would be tight. The trunk space is sufficient even with the 3rd row up. It’s dependable and I’ve been very happy with the MDX as a Mom that is on the go always with three kids in sports!

I have two boys, 8 and 5. I love the second row with the removable center that converts it to captains chairs. It’s easier to access the third row. I don’t love the off center anchors in the second row if you have to install a third car seat. The space in the middle is small with regular size convertible carseats and high back booster. This car is better for bigger kids. Trunk space is great with the third row up. There are no anchors or vents in the third row. The car is beautiful and reliable. I love the panoramic sunroof. Technology is outdated, no touch screen. The track pad is awful.

Wanted a car that would give me the flexibility for 3 across OR to put one of my 3 in the third row. I am able to do that and keep the gas mileage and size in a good spot. It fits 3 across comfortably and when the third row is down it has plenty of trunk space. Has all the technologies of a new car but I will say with a double screen it does look a bit dated. I don't love that it doesn't have ceiling vents. And I wish the door cup holders were larger. I am only 5'2 and would say with RF carseat it was just enough room to not touch, so for my taller friends I would consider this before buying. Third row is ok with leg room for its class. With a higher profile car seat my 4 year old said his feet were squished. I was pleasantly surprised with the tether anchor situation and the non overlap of anchor to seat belt. Overall, I have loved this car for this stage of life.

As a second row passenger, leg room was tight when sitting behind a 6’ driver. No ceiling vents in the second or third row made it very hard to cool off when getting in the hot car. The third row should only be used for small children. Even my 8 year old was uncomfortable. Pretty car but should only be a 2 row vehicle, in my opinion.

I have driven the Acura MDX for 6 years. We have twins so I needed a car with a lot of space in the second row. I fit comfortably between all the different car seats we have had a long the way. There is also great trunk space when the third row is down. It has been a great car for a family of four and a big dog. Good gas mileage and reliable!

I’ve owned my 2022 Acura MDX since my oldest was 12 and my youngest was 8, and it has been a great SUV for our family during those years. When I first purchased it, the size was perfect. My kids were old enough that we didn’t need car seats anymore, so we had plenty of room without driving a huge SUV. It was comfortable for everyday driving, school, activities, and family trips, and I loved that it didn’t feel oversized. As a daily driver, I honestly think the MDX is one of the best SUVs. I’m 5’1”, so I personally don’t need or want a huge SUV, and the MDX is very comfortable for someone my size. It’s easy to drive, easy to park, and feels like a great balance between having SUV space without feeling like you’re driving something enormous. Now my kids are 16 and 12, and I’ve definitely noticed the difference as they’ve grown. My 16-year-old is much bigger now, and when he does ride with me, the second row feels noticeably smaller. He doesn’t ride with me as often anymore, but when all four of us take a trip together, the MDX can feel a little tight—especially once we have luggage and everything else that comes with traveling. For my family, I think the MDX is an excellent choice for a family with one or two kids who are out of car seats but aren’t yet big teenagers. I personally wouldn’t recommend it for a family with multiple car seats because I think the second row would feel cramped, and I also wouldn’t choose it if you’re looking for a vehicle that will comfortably accommodate larger teenagers for years to come. Overall, I have really enjoyed my MDX. It was almost the perfect size for our family when my kids were younger, and I still absolutely love it as my everyday vehicle. I just wish there were a little more room in the second row now that my kids are getting bigger!

I absolutely Love my MDX and would highly consider even renewing my lease. I have 3 kids in car seats and we fit great! I can fit all three in the middle row and have done that for over a year. most recently, we decided to take out the middle seat and my oldest can sit in the back, with so much room in the aisle to climb in. The trunk is a bit small but we’ve been able to make it work with camping etc. so not that big of a deal. overall would totally recommend!

I do love this car. I don’t have the right car seat for the car. When my son was little I would sometimes lightly hit his head on the door frame getting him in and out of the car seat because the headspace isn’t huge. I would prefer a bigger ceiling space. But it’s comfy and drives well and has served us well.

I recently test drove a used 2023 MDX (no option on this site to review a 2023 so I listed it under 2024) and was shocked with how poorly the drive performance was. Acceleration was sluggish it also felt like I was driving a boat. I was so disappointed because I thought this was going to be the one! I disliked the way it drove so much that I ended the test drive early. Don’t get me started on the screen… it’s not touch screen so you have to use the track pad to get where you want to go. With the drive performance, the infotainment system and lack of ceiling vents, I did not end up I’m purchasing this car.

We love our MDX! We chose it over the Honda Pilot because of the way that it drove. It drives like a luxury car but I love that all of the tech is simpler and easy to navigate. We have a Grace slimfit 3 LX (FF) and a britax poplar (RF) in the second row and it is perfect. We plan to do three across if we have another child. The curved edges of the seat can sometimes make install trickier but it is great overall. I think it would be difficult to have a car seat in the third row and still be able to have enough room front to back for the second and third row, plus I also loving having the third row down for extra trunk space! It would be difficult for four car seats but we plan to keep for three.

It is a great suv for some families, the roominess is great and the party trick of having a bench and captains chairs is cool but it was overall a pretty boring drive. Not super exciting to drive and the tech felt dated. You get Honda reliability so overall it’s probably a great SUV for some, we just didn’t enjoy driving it.
