We bought a pre-owned 2024 plug in hybrid Volvo XC 60 and its perfect for our family. We have one kid (forward facing at the time in a Britax Boulevard Clicktight, in a Chicco booster now), and have the package with pop-up boosters on both outboard seats. This makes it perfect for us to drive friends around, and they fit comfortably back there. We had a station wagon prior to this car, and love that the trunk space is just about the same. We easily fit 3 carryon suitcases and backpacks/duffels in the trunk.

Wonderful car and great ride. Reliable and has no trouble in the snow. Perfect for a second car or grandparent car as the middle seat isn’t huge but fits our 2 kids (1FF 1RF) just fine. Love that there is still trunk space for groceries or running errands and strollers.

I borrowed my mom's XC60 for a day recently with my daughter in tow and found it to be not nearly as luxurious as I expected. While the car itself was fun to drive, it was not very car seat friendly, had terrible air circulation and even worse infotainment. My daughter was rear-facing in her Maxi Cosi Pria car seat which left very little room for the passenger. The car seat also blocked the air vent on the door column (which I initially thought would be better placement) but the power of the air was the equivalent of a person blowing air through a straw even on full blast. The infotainment system is very poorly designed, and I have heard my mom complain about it not working on multiple occasions. This would probably be a better car for a single person, but they have to fix the technology first!

The XC 60 is not as car seat friendly as i would like. We found the second row to be narrow and not have a lot of extra leg room with rear facing seats especially. The trunk space also feels a bit limited. Overall the car drives well but isn’t the most family friendly.

I love this car! I previously had suvs with 3 rows which I really don’t need. The trunk is huge and spacious and the car is sporty and zippy. I also love my kids can use the integrated car seats for my kids. It’s super comfortable and stylish. I’ve had zero issues with it. Sometimes the entertainment center freezes but a quick reset fixes it

I love love love owning a Volvo. The safety features are incredible and Volvo has a reputation for being one of the safest vehicles in the market. Owning the xc60 with two kids in car seats isn’t the most spacious though. We have a nuna rava and forward facing is fine but rear facing doesn’t allow any room for the front passenger. I also have a baseless nuna infant seat which is difficult to click in behind the driver seat and doesn’t allow a lot of driving room. I am only 5’4 so it works for me but wouldn’t work for some. It’s a tighter squeeze in the back and would be more suitable for families out of car seats. I think I’m a Volvo drive for life so I’m interested in upgrading to the xc90 since we are done having kids. Overall I’m a huge Volvo fan, they have created many safety features in cars including 3 point harness, SIPS, booster cushion, and the rear facing car seat. They give away their patent free so other manufacturers can follow in their safety footsteps.

This car drives beautifully and the technology is great (wireless Apple CarPlay) but the second row space is not good. A relatively compact RF seat (Britax One4Life specifically) requires the passenger seat to be pulled pretty far forward. It also has non-removable headrests, which makes it incompatible with a lot of FF car seats.

This is a family member’s vehicle and I have driven it multiple times as well. I love style of the seats. It drives well, but is pretty small with car seats installed. The biggest drawback is the clunky tech. It is not user friendly.

Full transparency, I own the 2019 XC60, but one thing I love about Volvo is that it is consistent. It is safe and I feel safe driving it. Pros for me: I’d say this is a low tech car, it doesn’t have a huge tablet screen and has some physical buttons. I absolutely LOVE the built in booster seat feature. Second row air vents are up on the door frame and not down below. Cons: remote start and app features are only free for a period, then you have to pay annually. This was not disclosed to me when I purchased the car, which I thought included remote start. A decent amount of maintenance is required. I purchased the XC60 when I was pregnant with my first. I went from a sedan to this SUV, which seemed big at the time. However, the car quickly shrunk with a large dog (70lbs), and two kids. We make it work, but if you have 2+ kids, I would recommend getting the XC90 vs the 60.

My mom owns this car and I have driven it and been a passenger multiple times. Drives very nice, comfortable interior and exterior. Smaller back seat. Difficulty for rear facing. Also the doors don’t open wide enough. I wouldn’t get this car if you have more than 1 kid.
