While we no longer have small children this car is great on gas mileage and comfortable for adults whether in the back or front seats. We have never used the 3rd row. Technology is outstanding. Drive is great. Only issue is the water pump and gasket went out just after 36,000 miles.

I love my Tiguan for 1 child but more than 1? Not so much. It can get cramped and the slow AC is pretty rough in Texas summers especially the lack of ceiling vents. My Tiguan does have a 3rd row but it’s not very useable. Plenty of trunk space! I would recommend it for no children or one young child but that’s all.

(SE w/Tech) We LOVED this car when we had two kids. We ultimately traded it in when we were expecting our third but as a family of 4 it was amazing for us and I was so sad it wasn’t going to work anymore. It needed new brakes and rotors near the end of the 3 years (and a few months) that we had it. Otherwise it was just regular oil changes. The trunk space was great and we loved the panoramic sunroof.

This car has been perfect for 2 kids. Tons of interior space. The trunk and second row are noticeably larger than the Volvo XC60 and BMW X3 (other cars in its class I have driven). Had one electrical/mechanical issue at 40,000 miles but has otherwise been great.

Overall, this car has been incredibly reliable. I had one gasket issue around 70k miles, but she’s been good otherwise. We regularly take road trips and we have a child playing travel ball, so lots of time in the car. That being said, it is small. We are a family of 5 and can no longer all take one car to places. I have two graco slim seats for my toddlers and the middle seat is not wide enough for my 11 year old. She stopped fitting between the seats around age 8. There is a third row with two seats, but there is no air vents and it is very small and uncomfortable. There is decent leg room in the back seat, but both the smaller kids can kick the front seats still. The tech is finicky and my biggest complaint is the tire pressure sensor. VW apparently has a certain PSI programmed and if one of the tires is off by even one pound, the light will go off. I have learned how to reset it, but it is a pain. Trunk space is fantastic with the third row down. This car is perfect for average sized adults with 2 kids max who don’t have extras with them often. I am 5’7 and regularly hit my head while buckling kids. I was able to keep my normal seat settings with an infant pumpkin seat installed behind the driver, but my 5’10 husband was extremely cramped having to accommodate the pumpkin and convertible seats when they were rear facing.

I owned this car for almost 4.5 years roughly. I enjoyed it. It was a nice car, I liked the style and the tech. I wish it had wireless CarPlay was my only complaint as far as tech. However, I quickly outgrew this car. It’s a small suv. It will not fit 3 car seats and the ones with a “third row” is so tiny.

This car has been so good to our family! The Tiguan is a great car for a family of 4. The lower anchors on two seat in the second row make car seat set up super easy. It’s spacious and has a generous trunk space. Even my 6 foot 7 inch husband can drive and sit comfortably as a passenger in the front seat! The drive is smooth and reliable. We are so happy with this car for our little family and will keep it for years to come!

I have driven this car both pre-kids and now with 2 kids. We love the truck space!!! We take this car on every vacation and we have plenty of space for everything. Costco run, no problem for this trunk space. The backseat has plenty of room for 2 car seats. I love love love this car.

We bought this car shortly after having our second baby. We were looking for a car that could provide enough room but still fit inside our tiny 1 car garage. We have the optional 3rd row that has come in handy now that my kids are older and they can sit back there if we are carting around friends or grandparents. It surprisingly has great cup holders for the size of the car, every door can fit water bottles easily plus the regular cup holders which are great. It still has a cd player which is a fun surprising addition for a 2019, though it is in the glove box 😆. The only issue we have had is the battery died just after the warranty expired and I suspect it’s because of the auto stop/start, so now I make sure to turn that off every time I get in the car. It fits our needs, though it does feel a little tight on roadtrips but we have made it work.

Do not love this car. The third row is pretty much worthless. It exists for the purpose of claiming that the car has a third row, I would not put anyone, even a child back there. We fit two rear facing car seats in it just fine but its not overly comfortable and I don't think you could really do 3 across. If we did not already own this car outright Im not sure we would stick with it and I would not purchase it again.

Love my Tiguan. I only have 1 kid, so with third row down the trunk is amazing. I have filled that car up a few times with 1 person in third row; and it works great. Even fit my mom’s walker in the trunk with third row up.

Leased this car for 3 years. Tech and safety were great. I personally wanted a larger vehicle and thought this would suffice, it didn’t. I’m glad I leased and didn’t buy for that reason. Otherwise I like how it drove and how comfortable it was. However I would not purchase due to our families needs.

Best car for growing family. Bought this car prior to kids and it was great for driving friends around, longer trips. With one child it’s been an easy transition and continues to be a great car! Only complaint is no overhead air vents in the second row for my rear facing baby!

This car has been amazing with 2 kids in car seats. I’ve owned the car for 5 years and have gone from infant seat to forward facing. It has a spacious second row and enough room for the passenger and driver to sit comfortably with rear facing car seats. The car drives well and gets good gas mileage. The trunk is spacious and has fit a mockingbird double stroller/zoe twin with a costco haul and has room for more. the cabin area feels spacious.

I’ve loved this car! Bought it CPO but it was just a dealer demo that the dealership owner’s wife drove prior to me, with 8k miles on it. I put about 30k miles on it in the first year as a field sales rep, and then only about 10k/year after that first year. The only issue I’ve had is a slow leak in the AC system, and a known leak in the water pipe causing a coolant leak but the dealership fixed that for free. Would definitely recommend the Tiguan, and we liked it enough that when my husband needed a new car a couple years after this purchase we went with the Atlas - which we love even more!

I love this car! I bought it in my mid 20s not knowing it would become my mom car. The back seat is so spacious and the trunk is huge. My only complaint is there aren’t rear ceiling vents. I love everything else about this car. It fit our infant seat with plenty of room for the front passenger and now easily fits our Evenflo 360 with plenty of space. I will probably upgrade to something bigger if we have a baby #2, but only because I like having room to drive other adults around, too.

The Tiguan has been a great and reliable car for two kids. Third row is basically fake. No one can fit in it and it’s very difficult to access. But with the third row down the trunk space is great. Would not recommend for more than two kids. Car is almost at 150k miles and has never had an issue. Very reliable.

The tech features and moderate price point initially sold me on this car. I liked that I got a lot of tech upgrades without breaking the bank. The drive is also nice and zippy. Unfortunately, this car has given me nothing but trouble. Central computer had to be replaced in the first month and there have been consistent issues with leaking oil, too much engine pressure, etc that have made me really dislike it on the whole.

We’ve had this car for 5 years now. With 2 car seats in the back it’s definitely squishy. With 1 car seat it was comfortable and we could fit our large dog. Overall has been a good reliable car with only minor issues. I’d recommend to anyone with 1-2 kids that doesn’t need a ton of space. 3rd row is microscopic we never use it and I can’t even fit in it! Drives well and feels safe.

Overall it is a great day to day car for my family. We have 2 Evenflo Revolve Slim car seats in the second row (one forward facing and one rear facing). They fit fine, but if you are taller than 5’8 it could be a tight fit. You cannot fit a third person in the middle of the 2 cars seats- we’ve done it and it’s very uncomfortable. We also technically have a 3rd row, but leg room is non existent and you lose virtually all the trunk space. Overall fine day to day car for family of 4

Great fuel mileage! My husband is 6’ tall and I am 5’9”. It’s was a little tight when my son was rear facing but not bad! It is great now that he’s rear facing. We’ve done several road trips and we’ve all been comfortable. It has a 3rd row which I have used in my job to transport middle and high school kids. Definitely not a 3rd row for high school kids or adults for a long trip, but worked well in a pinch.

I love my Tiguan! The backseat is very comfortable. Fits 2 car seats no problem and it’s very spacious. I drive my niece and nephews around a lot so I often have car seats installed. There is plenty of leg room, even when the passenger seat is pushed back. The trunk is spacious. It can be tight with a stroller. I have no had an issues. I leased it at first and then bought it. I plan to drive this car until it dies. I’ve thought about getting another Tiguan after!

I loved my Tiguan for several years. I had it before kids, and then kept it when I had 1 child, and honestly it was great. Moving to 2 kids, it started to be too small, especially for roadtrips. The 3rd row is basically not usable…adults can’t fit comfortably, which was fine because I never really needed it. The technology always worked great and looked great. The interior looked great, however, I didn’t love that it was leatherette seats and not real leather. Sometimes felt a little plastic-y. I didn’t have many mechanical issues until right when my warranty was starting to expire…so around 5-6yrs. Then several things started breaking, one of which was the acceleration function. Literally had zero issues though for a long time, but all at once things started breaking…so I would be hesitant to buy this one used!

We LOVED our Tiguan so much that when we outgrew it with our third baby, we gave it to my sister and it’s still driving great! I think for a budget friendly SUV it’s so sharp! What it lacks in fancy features it shows up in reliability. The trunk size is impressive for such a small SUV, and it drives like a dream. Second row bench seats were a bit uncomfortable for an adult, but worked great for car seats.

I have had my Tiguan for 6 years and have been so happy. The trunk is boxy versus curvy, which is great for maximum storage, and both the trunk and second row are larger than the Volvo XC60 and BMW X3 (family members own so have been able to compare). I did have one electrical issue just shy of the 40,000 mile make but it was fixed and my car is back to running smoothly.
