Features We Love
  • Car-Seat Friendly Tilt. This is a big win. The second-row captain’s chair tilts and slides forward even with a car seat installed using lower anchors. That means real, usable third-row access without uninstalling your seat every time. We love a flexible queen.
  • Solid Car Seat Hardware Setup. Lower anchors and tether anchors in both captain’s chairs, plus three tether anchors across the third row. That’s exactly what we want to see for growing families who need options.
  • Deep Underfloor Trunk Storage. That hidden cargo compartment is legit deep. Think sports gear, emergency supplies, or all the random mom stuff you don’t want rolling around back there.
  • Heated & Ventilated Front Seats. The seats are seriously comfortable, and having both heat and ventilation makes this feel elevated for long drives, carpools, and road trips.
  • Quiet Ride. It’s smooth and peaceful inside. Conversations are easy, kids can nap, and you’re not fighting road noise on the highway.
  • Ceiling Vents for All Rows. We love seeing overhead vents in the second and third rows. Arizona summers? Midwest humidity? Doesn’t matter. Airflow for everyone is non-negotiable.
Car Mom Review

The Exterior

On the outside, I actually think Buick did a nice job modernizing the Enclave. When you hear “Buick,” you might still picture something your grandma drove, but this body style feels much more current. From the side especially, it has a sleek, almost luxury-SUV vibe with those softer body lines and all the chrome detailing. There’s chrome on the grille, around the windows, on the roof rails… she’s definitely leaning into that upscale look. It’s not overly sporty or aggressive, but it feels polished and put together. My favorite angle is definitely the side profile — that’s where she shines the most.

A modern glow-up for Buick!

First Row

When you climb into the front of the Enclave, this is where Buick is really trying to lean into that “near-luxury” feel. The seats are genuinely comfortable, the materials look elevated, and everything feels cohesive and thoughtfully designed. There are a few things I’d tweak, but overall, this is a really nice place to spend time — especially if you’re the one doing most of the driving.

  • Beautiful Brown Leather Interior. This chocolate brown leather is stunning. It feels rich, looks elevated, and the contrast stitching gives it that “okay Buick, I see you” moment.
  • Heated and Ventilated Front Seats. We love options. Toasty in the winter, cooled in the summer. And yes, they are actually really comfortable.
  • Heated Steering Wheel. I do wish the entire wheel heated up, but still — on cold mornings, I’m taking it.
  • Built-In Display with Apple CarPlay & Android Auto. CarPlay makes life easier. The screen isn’t huge, but it integrates cleanly and is simple to use.
  • Surround View Camera. Big SUV = I want all the visibility. That 360° camera makes parking and tight spots way less stressful.
  • Wireless Charger + Two USB Ports. We love not fighting over cords. Plus, there’s an actual place to drop your phone and keep it out of the cup holders.
  • Center Console Storage (With a Hidden Drop Zone). That open “bridge” space underneath? Perfect for tossing a purse, diaper bag, or all the random things we collect during the day.
  • 10-Way Power Driver Seat with Lumbar. For my tall girls — there’s good legroom and great adjustability. I felt really comfortable up here.

Second Row

I’ll be honest — this is where the Enclave surprised me in a good way. I had some sticker shock up front, but when it came to second-row flexibility and car seat usability, Buick actually made some really smart decisions. That said, there are a couple things back here I don’t love — so let’s talk about all of it.

  • Standard Captain’s Chairs. The Enclave only comes with captain’s chairs, which keeps that center pass-through open and makes movement between rows easier. If you prefer a bench for three-across setups, that’s not an option here.
  • Somewhat Flexible Car Seat Hardware. You get lower anchors and tether anchors in both second-row captain’s chairs, giving you two full LATCH positions back here. In the third row, there are no lower anchors, but you do get three separate tether anchors across the back — which is exactly what we want for forward-facing seats installed with the seat belt.
  • Car-Seat Friendly Tilt (Major Win). This is the standout feature. Even with a car seat installed using the lower anchors, you can still tilt and slide the captain’s chair forward to access the third row — without uninstalling the seat. That’s huge for real-life family logistics.
  • Great Rear-Facing Clearance. With a rear-facing infant seat installed, I still had great front-seat space. Tall drivers won’t feel cramped.
  • Third-Row Space Depends on Seat Position. When the captain’s chairs are pushed all the way back, the third row gets tight — like knee-to-chest tight. You’ll need to slide the second row forward a bit to make it comfortable for older kids or adults.
  • No Middle Head Restraint. The center third-row seat does not include a head restraint, which reduces protection for adult passengers seated in that position. The third-row outboard head restraints do not remove, but they are relatively flat. Some car seats may be incompatible due to head restraint interference, but most install well without issue.
  • Ceiling Vents (Yes, Please). Overhead vents in both the second and third rows. Airflow for everyone is non-negotiable in a three-row SUV.

Third Row

The third row in the Enclave is functional and thoughtfully equipped, but it is not the most spacious in the segment. It offers practical features for families, especially when paired with the flexible second-row setup, though overall comfort will depend on how the vehicle is configured and who is seated back there.

  • Three Tether Anchors Across the Back. The third row includes three dedicated tether anchors, allowing for forward-facing car seats to be properly installed using the seat belt. There are no lower anchors in this row, which is typical for many three-row SUVs.
  • Overhead Vents and USB Ports. Ceiling-mounted air vents help ensure consistent airflow for rear passengers, and USB ports on both sides provide convenient device charging.
  • Best Suited for Children and Shorter Passengers. This row works well for children in booster seats or forward-facing car seats. It can accommodate adults for shorter trips, but it is not especially roomy.
  • Legroom Depends on Second-Row Position. When the second-row captain’s chairs are pushed all the way back, third-row legroom becomes limited. Sliding the second row forward improves comfort significantly.
  • Narrow Center Seat. The middle seating position is noticeably tight and may feel cramped, particularly for  booster seats.
  • No Middle Head Restraint. The center third-row seat does not include a head restraint, which reduces protection for adult passengers seated in that position.

Trunk

The cargo area in the Enclave is practical and family-friendly, with one standout feature that genuinely impressed me. Behind the third row, you have a usable amount of space for everyday errands, but what really elevates it is the deep underfloor storage compartment. It is significantly deeper than what we typically see in this class, making it ideal for storing sports equipment, emergency supplies, extra diapers, or anything you prefer to keep hidden and secure.

The available cargo mat that extends over the folded third row is also a thoughtful touch. It helps protect the seatbacks when you lower the third row for larger loads, which is especially helpful for strollers, grocery hauls, or weekend projects.

Power-folding third-row controls located in the cargo area make it easy to adjust the seating configuration without walking around the vehicle. Overall, while the standard cargo space behind the third row is competitive rather than class-leading, the hidden storage and practical design elements make it highly functional for family use.

Safety

Safety is one area where I have mixed feelings about the Enclave. It offers a solid suite of driver-assistance features, but the way Buick structures them across trim levels is a little frustrating. Some important safety tech is reserved for higher trims, which means you may need to upgrade to get features that are standard elsewhere.

On higher trims like the Premium and Avenir, you’ll find forward collision alert, automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, rear cross-traffic alert, blind spot monitoring, and a surround view camera. These are all features I personally consider must-haves in a three-row family SUV, especially forward collision alert. That’s a life-saving feature in my opinion, and I do not love that it’s not available on every trim.

The surround view camera is another highlight. In a larger SUV like this, having that 360-degree visibility makes a big difference when parking or navigating tight spaces. It’s one of those features you don’t realize you rely on until you don’t have it.

Overall, the Enclave can be very well-equipped from a safety standpoint, but you’ll want to pay close attention to trim levels to make sure you’re getting the features that matter most to your family.

The Buick enclave is a good size mid-size SUV. The third row does not have any lower anchors. So, for booster purposes (and what I’m comfortable with) I put the high back booster in the second row (captains chairs). The trunk is spacious with an extra cargo spot when you lift up the bottom part of the trunk. The third row has charging ports and ceiling vents. Overall, it’s been a reliable car, suitable for 3 kids and has enough space for us!

My husband currently drives a 2026 GMC Acadia, and I switched from a 2024 Chevy Traverse to the Enclave. I can safely say the look and drive of the Enclave is my favorite. She's got some zip and also drives quietly. I can fit my large double stroller with the third row up in the trunk. Not a simple pop in and go, but it fits. My oldest (8) sits in the third row and getting in and out is never a problem. Honestly, he just zips between the captains chairs before I can offer the carseat tilt. The only situation I can imagine 3rd row access being tricky is with 2 rear facing in the 2nd row. She's a love for us - 3 kids (8,5, and 2).

I LOVE this car! I test drove several cars in the 3 row category, similar shape, and size to the Buick. The Buick surprisingly blew them all out of the way. (We were seriously considering a Kia telluride, and the Buick had everything the middle to high model of the Kia did with a way lower price tag) It has a beautiful sleek look on the outside, and updated technology on the inside with CarPlay, a large screen, option to add multiple driver profiles, heads up display, heated seats and steering wheel, etc. My husband is 6 feet 4 inches tall so we needed room along with our baby’s rotating Joie Matcha car seat! In our old care he couldn’t sit in either front seat with the car seat behind him, and we barely had enough room for me (5’4) to sit in front of the car seat either. We can easily both sit in front of the car seat in this car!! It has ample space! I took a few points away for backseat room simply because it matters who is in the middle and front seats and how tall they are. If I were driving with the car seat behind me though, there would be plenty of room in the 3rd row. I absolutely love this car. I would buy it again. It has plenty of room for our family to grow!! I can’t rave about it enough!

I love this car! Family of 6 and this was a great car for day to day (we use my Odyssey for long weekends and family trips) and I feel like this is a great option for someone who wants luxury with a good price. The heads up dis play was a great feature and it had all the bells and whistles while still being more affordable than a Traverse or Tahoe! The trunk space with the third row up was good if you just had groceries or a few sports bags but it was tight fitting a baseball weekend worth of gear in the back. My 4 kids were able to sit comfortably in the second and third row. I think the tech was great and it drives well although had a V4 engine so not a lot of pick up. But better for gas! If we needed ore space for longer tris and didn't want to take my van we could get a topper or cargo trailer.

As a family of 4 the buick enclave is a fantastic car. All the technology I could ever want. The Captain's chairs are very comfortable. There are two things that I would be mindful of. The engine in this vehicle is loud. It doesn't bother me anymore but in the beginning you could hear in the cabin the engine loudly. This is also noted in the consumer report analysis of this car.. My next note of the vehicle is in order for the third row to fold down the second row seats need to be slid pretty far forward. This is only a problem if you have a car seat installed with the seat belt in the captain's chairs. I don't often have to fold down the third row due to the generous trunk space but when I do I always have to adjust the second row seats. My kids are still fairly small so I have not had any complaints on the size of the third row. We often load this vehicle down for hockey trips and can fit two upright hockey bags in the trunk with the third row up.

This is the perfect car mom, amazing trunk space with fantastic leg room. Technology isn’t the most updated but it has the essentials, CarPlay and wireless charging. Massage in front row and heat and cooling seats. It’s been perfect with a newborn and toddler and I plan to use it until those babies are grown!

This car is everything! I’m a mom of two who previously drove an ‘11 Volvo XC90 (I loved her dearly and she’s still going strong at 230000 miles). I have 6.5 and 3 year old in a high back booster and FF Nuna Rava who sit extremely comfortably in the second row. We also often have grandparents tagalong and all six of us fit very comfortably in the vehicle. I used to drive my husband‘s Tahoe around a lot and the back row of the enclave is significantly roomier compared to the Tahoe third row. The trunk space is amazing when the third row is down and also still pretty good when the third row is up. I did opt for the AWD option with the power package because I live in New England I frequently drive in the snow and love a good sunroom day in the spring, summer, fall! Overall, I would definitely recommend!

The Buick Enclave has been an amazing car for our family. We have had 2 leases so far, and are likely getting a third. Our kids are now 7 & 5, but were also 2 & newborn when first start this journey. The trunk space is unparalleled; we have an Uppababy Vista and I made sure it could fit with the 3rd row up. I figure why would I want a third row if I could never use it. The ceiling vents are in each row and when I am in the third row I love that feature. It has been great for my rear facing, and even now that they are forward facing and in a booster. They are cool and warm when needed. The ride is smooth and I always feel like my family is safe. I don’t know that I could pick another car! My ONLY gripe is the cup holder situation in this model, hoping it’s fixed in the new version out now! It is definitely underrated and shouldn’t be!

DOES NOT FEEL LIKE A BUICK. It is so luxurious, the technology and design of the screens is so sleek, and so spacious for my family! My husbands 6’5 so we needed something with second row leg room and a car seat and this car checks every box that we needed. We can all fit comfortably, everything about this car just makes sense for a busy mom / family car. The trunk is huge with the third row seats up, and can fit so much including our stroller back there. I get about 24-26 mpg which is awesome! We’ve been using a joie mint latch car seat which has been so easy to get in and out of this car and can still put the passenger seat back comfortable for my husband.

This was a great car with my two littles. It was so quiet while it was running and while driving I could not hear any outside noise. We drove it from MI to FL twice and were very comfortable. One issue I had was the CarPlay with Apple would sometimes glitch and not connect to my phone until I restarted the car several times.

I LOVE this car. I can go on and on about all the great things. Affordability, largest midsize suv, complete reliability so far almost to 70k miles, comfort, luxury add ons like heads up display, heated, cooled AND massaging seats 😍 The only con I can attest to is for a 2024 I do feel like the infotainment center is a little dated. It works and I actually enjoy the simplicity however I can see that being an issue for people.

Second and third row are good for the kids. Trunk space is great. Ceiling vents but no window shades. I don’t like the cup holders. There could be more and better shaped. Overall, has been a good car for my family with 3 kids and we will likely keep for many years.

We recently purchased this car and absolutely love it. It feels sleek and luxurious but has all the family friendly features we were looking for. We’re currently a single vehicle family and I love the key-specific settings that automatically remember my settings vs. my husbands - this sounds simple, but we also looked at the Acadia and this was only a feature on the Denali trim level and above. We recently moved across the country and were amazed at how much of we could fit as cargo with all the seats down and we averaged between 23-25 MPG with a fully packed car, which I feel like is impressive for a midsize with additional weight. Overall, would pick this car over and over again. It may not be as popular as many other midsize SUVs, but I think that is also part of the appeal - it feels exclusive to have something that not everyone else has.

I love my Enclave! So much room in the second/third rows. I use the hidden storage compartment in the trunk to store extra diapers/wipes and grocery bags. Rear ceiling air vents were a must since my last car didn’t have them - and I’m so thankful for them with passengers in the back.

This car is just okay. It’s smaller than it looks so getting kids in and out is a struggle if you’re using the third row. The tech is fine, nothing special. Would work best for 1 or 2 kids in car seats.

Very spacious trunk, I feel like it was comparable to the Tahoe and many other full size suvs. The finishes in the car are very nice and there’s a lot of features. I frequently need to be in the 3rd row to help my children and it’s doable.

I love this car for one baby and I think it’ll be fine when we add a second! My only issue is that my 6’2” husband can’t comfortably drive with a rear facing car seat behind him. If car seats weren’t an issue, I’d have zero concerns about my car! It served me super well before kids. We drove it moving from Missouri to Georgia, then Georgia to Alaska. I drove it all over the state of Alaska and it did great. It handles extremely well in the snow- I prefer driving it over my husband’s truck! I leave my third row down and the cargo space is great. Would be so nice for families out of the car seat stage! Also love that it feels a little more “luxury” without the luxury price tag!

We LOVE this car- it looks so sleek and feels very high end/luxury inside. The standard tech features are great. We have my 5 year old in a front harness booster, my 3 year old in a rear facing carseat, and my baby will be in the Graco GoMax infant car seat. The only thing that would make this car better would be lower anchors in the 3rd row, but it does have the tether anchors on the back of the 3rd row for all 3 seats. Plenty of room for all of the car seats and if we happen to need to pick up a friend, we don’t have to rearrange everything to make it work. 3rd row is typical, not a TON of space but enough to get by for an adult on a short trip.

My mom drives the new Enclave and we frequently travel together so I have installed our toddlers Britax Poplar in the second row multiple times. Overall really love the amount of space in this car and the car seat tilt is so convenient for loading and unloading passengers out of the third row. We frequently travel in this car to and from our family cabin. It comfortable fits 2 adults in the third row. We squeeze 3 in for small trips. Overall tech is really great! Especially love the super cruise. Only downside is that the motor just doesn’t seem to keep up with the size of the car. The motor is very loud in the cabin as well. Also the moonroof is large which is great for sunlight but so bright our toddler won’t nap in the car, even if we close the sun shade.

We have absolutely loved our Buick enclave! We decided on this car because it was a great size for a family while also feeling luxurious. It is reliable, safe, and drives very smooth. The seats are very comfortable. Of note, there are two captain chairs in the middle row. The trunk space is great with the third row down, but leg room is tight when the third row is up. We have Britax one4life car seats in our captain chairs and they fit great! I will say as two tall parents and kids who are shaping up to be tall, I think leg room may be tight as our family grows. Overall highly recommend and I would buy this vehicle again.

I LOVE my enclave! It’s a great family car, third row is super spacious for being mid-size and my trunk space very comparable to a Tahoe with the third row up. We have vents throughout which’s is great. One con is the shades on the moon roofs, they are manual so closing the back one is really difficult.

I love how fancy this car feels but doesn’t have a premium price tag. We test drive a few different suvs and this one really impressed us. It is super easy to have my kids get in and out themselves. The second row offers lots of room for their car seats. I appreciate how easy it is to enter the third row and the fact there is a button to put it up and down so I don’t have to climb in to do it. I love the fact it has a heated steering wheel and seats because it’s so cold in the winter where I live.

As a mom of two growing boys this has been a great family vehicle for us. There is plenty of room for the kids, the dog, & a huge Costco haul. The third row is especially helpful when we need the extra space. Living in Florida, I also really appreciate the comfortable interior and strong A/C. It handles everyday driving, road trips, and rainy Florida weather well. I also use my Enclave for Uber, everyone always complements me on how spacious the back is. Overall, I love that it works as both a family SUV and a vehicle I can use for work. It’s comfortable, roomy, and practical without feeling like a huge vehicle.

The Buick Enclave is a LARGE Midsize SUV. As a mom of two teen athletes with lots of gear, I was looking to trade out my Volvo XC 90 for something with just as much trunk space with the 3rd row down, or more behind it when the third row was up. My Volvo really couldn't fit teens in the third row comfortably and my kids really wanted captains chairs. The Buick was a top contender for our next car. The tech is nice, but the drive does feel significantly bigger than my Volvo. The cabin is very roomy but feels less luxury than other similar midsize SUVs like the Palisade and Telluride. The trunk space is where this car shines. In addition to the 23 cubic feet behind the third row, there is an underfloor storage area the size of a baby bath! If you are constantly carrying around extra supplies, this is a great car to consider. Ultimately we went with the 2026 Palisade Hybrid. For the same price, it felt more luxury, more comfortable in the 2nd and 3rd row and more nimble to drive. My dream car would have been the Palisade with the Buick trunk!

I love my Enclave and I have really enjoyed her so far. I would say my only ‘complaint’ is the power. She drives great but coming from a V8 jeep grand Cherokee L, she doesn’t have as much pep but we knew that going in so it’s just been an adjustment. We get great gas mileage and the technology is very easy to use. We are very happy with our purchase and highly recommend the enclaves!

This car is what dreams are made of! After squeezing our 3 kids into a 2 row SUV, we knew we needed more space for our family. Kelly is the reason we even looked at the Buick Enclave! I initially set out to buy a Volkswagen Atlas but after comparing the drive and interior/exterior of the two, we ultimately decided on the Enclave. The car is stunning, it has an incredible amount of space, and the best part? We can fit 2 car seats and a booster with plenty of room to spare! It truly feels like driving a luxury car. The drive is so smooth, the interior is very spacious, and we can easily fit a stroller and essentials in the trunk. The technology and dashboard are simply amazing. We opted for the preferred trim and while it doesn’t have a sun roof, it comes with ceiling vents instead! A huge win for our rear facing toddler and Texas heat. I can’t say enough about this car. It deserves a test drive!

Buick Enclave offers a sporty exterior with a luxurious interior. The center counsel with the extra storage space is great. Love the ceiling vents in the back cabin. Bose sound system is banging! Infotainment is excellent and I found it easy to operate as I was coming from a 2014 with zero tech! I love the carseat tilt; for reference I have a Chicco Onefit installed. The gear changer on the steering column can be a learning curve, but as a former teen who learned to drive in the 90's, there were no problem.

Love the car seat tilt, captains chairs, tech features. Decent trunk room, especially with the lower trunk area. Small gripe with the center console. I had a 2019 Buick Envision prior to this one and the way it opened and was organized was much preferred. For car seats, these were not bought specifically for this vehicle, but it’s working. I have a Doona in the captains chair behind the driver, a RF Evenflo 360 on the captains behind the passenger (kind of tight), and a Diono 3R in the back.

We have been SO impressed by the Enclave! I have enjoyed driving it since the day we got it. Love the space that it offers for our family of 5- and the trunk space is more than adequate for us! The technology is great, the air flow is great for the second and third row, ease of getting kids in and out with car seat tilt - and we love super cruise! Buicks never really crossed my radar - until getting into this car. I can not speak to longevity since we have only had it a month - and the engine could use a little more “oomph” but that is probably my only complaint so far!

We traded an ‘18 Durango for the Enclave and feel like we have so much more room. I sat in a Yukon and didn’t feel like I was missing out in the full size category. I got the ST trim with sunroof and sportier rims which made the overall aesthetics more sporty compared to the other trims. It took a little adjustment period to get used to the 4-cyl turbo engine coming from a 6-cyl. However, I don’t feel it is lacking power since we don’t tow anything.
